As Applebloom was settling into her bed for the night, her sister came through her door. She noticed her trying to get tucked in, and giggled when she saw she couldn't get comfortable, or even shut her eyes.
"Need some help there, 'Bloom?" Applejack asked, nearing closer to Applebloom's bed.
Applebloom saw this, and nodded her head sheepishly.
"Ya know I can't get to sleep w'out your lullaby," Applebloom blushed.
As Applejack's lips curled into that sweet shape that meant she was about to start singing, Applebloom settled down, and yawned.
"Hush now little sister, here's your lullaby you know, you'll never loose your sister, no matter where you go, there ain't no call to worry, so don't you cry or fret, a sister's always there for you, no matter who you get," as Applejack finished the last verse, she saw that Applebloom's eyelids were met.
She smiled as she watched her sisters breath patterns, how they moved the blankets up and down, as her snout wrinkled with every little movement. Applejack decided to leave her to rest, and left the room. As she closed the door, she flicked off the lights, letting the moonlight shine onto the hardwood, shimmering, as if the moon was dancing on her floor. She watched the beauty of it for a moment, but shut the door all the way. She leaned against it, trying to decide what to do. She knew that she should get to sleep, since she had to be there for the opening ceremony of "Twilight Sparkles' pizza palace" in the morning. But, she had some chores she knew she had to do, since she was pretty darn sure that Granny had fallen asleep before she had a chance to even read the list she had made. As she made her decision of doing the chores, her big brother was suddenly standing over her. She looked up at him, and he saw the bags under her apple green eyes.
"Holly, A.J.! You look as tired as hay!" Big Mac said, louder than he meant to.
Applejack gave him a worried/angry glare.
"Big Mac! You outta be a tad bit more quiet near 'Bloom's room! For all ya know, she could'a been sleeping, which she is!" Applejack whispered, releasing a small snort.
Mac looked back up towards Applebloom's door, and grinned.
"Whoopsy," he replied, making Applejack's face loosen.
"Well, I am tired, but, Granny's got chores to do, but, I'll let her sleep. So, I'm doin' em for her," Applejack said, sliding her hat over her eyes a bit, and tried pushing past Big Mac.
Before she could squeeze through, Mac stomped a hoof to the wall, blocking her path. Applejack looked up at him, angry once more. She tried getting under his arm, but her lowered it down with her.
"What in tarnashin'!? Could ya let me through?!" Applejack whisper screamed at him.
He huffed, and nodded "no".
"A.J., you're tired as hay, now go to bed. You have to up at around 5 in the mornin'! I'll do the chores," Big Mac smiled.
Applejack glared at him, calculating. At last, the pros beat her, and she nodded "yes". Mac beamed, and started to push her towards her room.
"Hold on there lil' doggy! There's a list of things ta do on the kitchen counter! And don't forget ta-"
"Okay, okay! I got it, now got catch some z's," Big Mac sighed, as Applejack walked off.
She glanced back at him, and he nudged his head toward her door. She rolled her eyes, and opened it, crawling into her bed.
"Need me ta tuck ya in!?" Big Mac called to her.
"No!"
