A parents voice for a Nightmare
The sounds of a parents voice
The bright blue eyes of a small unicorn filly went wide as she woke up. Sweat was dripping from her coat which was a dark shade of violet. The young filly’s bright blue mane and tail that had two strips of violet and another two strips of red were ruffled from the dream. She looked around to see a brown teddy bear near the foot of her bed as she grabbed it with her red magic aura. When the small bear got near her, she started to hold onto it tightly as tears started to come from her eyes.
The dark violet filly started to get out of her bed and was trying to be quiet, for her siblings were also sleeping in her room. Her three brothers sleeping in a triple decker bed and she never knew why they always slept in the same room for a long time until she found out that they couldn’t have their own room until some crisis was over.
Then their was her sister, who wants to be a model. Right now, she is currently under the covers with a flashlight possibly looking at some magazines from Fleur de lis.
As the young filly opened the door with her teddy bear on her back, she noticed a light coming from down the hallway. She knew that it was coming from the living room in her home. The unicorn then started to walk slowly towards the light as she closed the door silently so she won’t disturb her brothers and sister.
Going to anytype of light always made the filly's eyes go into fascination ever since she was born. As she got closer, the light started to dance like fire as it was coming from the fireplace in the room. As the small unicorn went to look around the corner, she saw her unicorn father sitting on his chair.
Her father’s coat was brown with a bandage covering his torso from a recent injure. His mane and tail were a dark red color with a couple of green strips. As the filly went closer to her father, he turned around to reveal his bright blue eyes, and his horn that was sharp as a blade and his sweet fatherly smile. His name was Alize Van Drako or what the filly’s mother would call him Sword for some reason.
Sword started to pat a place next to him signing for her to sit next to him. As the young unicorn went to sit right next to her father as she hold her teddy bear in her left forehoof. Her father started to move his hooves in order to speak with her own daughter he said with sign language
She replied as she went for a light nuzzle to her dad for comfort.
The stallion winced when her daughter said that word, nightmare. He knew what the dream was and it also made him want to hug his children and his wife. Then he started to move his hooves again
The filly stopped to take a deep breath while also clenching her stuff animal for some safety upon recalling the dream. Tears were starting to form in the filly's eyes as she continued.
The dark violet unicorn went for a hug to her father who gladly accepted it.
Sword started to stroke his daughter's mane in a soothing fashion. The filly’s father knew that the nightmare was real as he remembered it very well. He came home to discover that his wife and his daughter were both covered in blood. Next to them was a body of a fellow ‘employee’ who he thought was on vacation. He can also hear her daughter crying and her mother repeating it will be okay.
Sword lightly tapped his wife’s shoulder as she turned around to see her husband. Sword could only stare at his wife’s violet eyes as tears were starting to spread. All Sword could do was just join in on the hug with his wife and his little Star.
The stallion got out of his flashback when his daughter started tugging his hoof. He got out of the small hug of the filly and asked her a question to her with a smile His daughter nodded at what he said He started to get up as well as the filly (who put her teddy bear on her back) to go meet Mother.
As they left the living room, they both walked with smiles on their faces for seeing the mare that they hold most dear to them. They now stood in front of a door that led to the master bedroom and across the room was the door to the children's bedroom.
As the doors open, they both walked in to see the bedroom. It was a standard bedroom with pictures covering one side of the wall. In the room, there was a bed, a nightstand, and a baby crib with an alicorn standing in front of it.
The alicorn had purple fur and her mane that was a darker shade of violet with one strip of pink and another strip of purple right next to the pink one. As she turned around, the stallion and filly both saw a smile on her face as she just tucked in her newborn child. Her violet eyes also had tears of joy as she looked to her two family members. She said to them “Hello Sword and hello to you Starbright Sparkler”
The filly went straight to her mother, Twilight Sparkle. While running to her mother, the unicorn dropped her teddy bear on the way. Twilight nealed downed to get a hug from her daughter. She nuzzled her daughter in a loving matter as she mouthed the words “My little Star, did you have that nightmare again” Her daughter, who read her mother's lips in order to understand her, nodded her head while her father went to sit next to his wife and gave her a light nuzzle.
Twilight said to her husband “Did she tell you” but never got to finish as he gave a nod confirming about the nightmare and the telling of it. She backed away from the hug to see Starbright looking over her shoulder to the crib. A soft smile spread upon the mother “You want to see your little sister” she got a nod from her daughter.
Twilight stood up and led Star to the crib where she had to stand on her back hooves in order to see the sleeping child. The child was a unicorn filly with a dark blue coat with a light blue and crimson mane and tail. At the head of the crib, it said the words Amare Lux, the words were ancient Equestrian meaning Love Light.
Star started to sit down from standing in her position for awhile. Meanwhile Twilight and Sword started to have a little conversation behind the filly’s back. Since Star didn’t see her parents speaking to each other, there was no way of knowing what they said.
As Star was sitting, the baby started to open her magenta eyes and gave out a small yawn. She then let out a small whimper indicating that she was hunger. The Princess heard this and flew towards her child and looked towards her family saying “Can you guys go so I can feed Lux”
Both the father and the daughter nodded in agreement and left the mother to feed her child. Right before leaving, Star grabbed her bear as she walked right out the door. As the door to the room closed, both of them just stood in the middle of the hallway. Sword looked at one of the many windows in the house but only one in particular. This window showed the moon in all its glory as it was in the middle of the sky indicating that it was around midnight.
After about 10 minutes of waiting, with the only noise was the breathing coming from the two and Star playing with her bear, the door open to reveal Twilight with a small smile. “You want to sleep with us Starbright”
Star nodded her head furiously and ran into the bedroom. She ran up to the bed and layed down with her teddy bear in her forehooves. Her mother and father climbed up on top of the bed with smiles on their faces.
Twilight and Sword tucked in Star and both placed kisses on her check. Then Twilight kissed the teddy bear as her daughter always wanted her to do. Meanwhile, Sword used his magic to get another blanket from a nearby closet and put it over him and his wife. He then gave a peck on his wife’s lips and mouthing the words “Good night my love” before closing his eyes and in a few minutes, he was asleep.
Twilight looked at her sleeping little Star and then turned her head towards the crib. She looked at her daughter's blue eyes saying the words “I love you” After saying that, they both closed their eyes and started to drift to sleep.
Right before Starbright Sparkler fell asleep, she said the words “I love you too Mommy” which brought tears to Twilight’s eyes as she finally went to sleep.
