Chapters A Draconian Warlord
"Yo dude, wake up!" A voice called out, while a hand shook my shoulder to rouse me from my slumber. I opened my eyes to see one of the other club members, Alex if I remember properly, was standing next to my seat.
"It's time man, we're here!" He exclaimed before walking away, probably getting off the bus. I shook my head, rubbing my eyes to clear the crusts, before grabbing my bag from the rack above me and following.
I guess I should tell you who I am huh? My name is Bond, James Bond. Nah I'm just kidding. My real name is Ryan Smith. I'm just a normal college student who is a member of the local anime club. The club has a mandatory trip to the annual anime convention every year. At first, I really enjoyed the trip. But over the period of four years that I have been trying for a PhD, it got old quick. Now I just go in and try to find an empty table and chair at the food court and chill.
Back at the current point, I stepped off of the bus and put my hand in front of my eyes to help dim the light somewhat. My eyes are extremely sensitive to light, so my pupils change even quicker than normal. My eyes also had three colors. They matched, but instead of being a solid color, they were a deep storm cloud gray with flecks of neon yellow and blue.
Sighing, I ran a tanned hand through my dark red hair before stretching to pop my back, letting me stand at my full height of 6'4", which I'm told is rather tall for a physically fit 24 year old man.
I quickly made my way to the food court. Buying a hamburger, I made my way over to an empty table and pulled out my laptop. I had brought it with me so that I could pass the time quickly. I figured that if I just sat here and read some MLP fanfics I could avoid the-
What? *sigh* Yes, I said MLP. Yes, I am a brony. Not really a big one though, most of what I know about the show comes from reading fanfiction, if not all of it. So yeah, I'm not sure if that even counts.
Anyways, as I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted, I had thought that simply sitting here and reading while eating my lunch, I wouldn't be bothered. Boy was I wrong.
"Hey there!"
I will admit that I jumped slightly from the female voice that addressed me. I had been so wrapped up in what I was doing, that I had become oblivious to the world around me. That seems to happen quite a bit actually. Anyway, I looked up and saw a girl dressed as Yoruichi Shihoin. Her costume was spot on, even had the...ummm...endowment.
Yes I am a virgin. Kinda hard to find a girl who really worked with me, you know. I mean I've dated in the past but even so, none of it ever panned out past the second date, so we always parted ways.
Anyway, I wound up blushing extremely hard and having to make a large effort to keep my eyes on the girl's face.
"So what are you doing over here by yourself handsome?" She asked, making me blush even harder before she laughed, "Looks like I still got it! Anyway, What are you doing over here?"
"Uh...Umm...Well I'm just waiting out the field trip. It's mandatory, but I really just wanted to sit at home and read." I managed to stammer out.
"Well now, where's the fun in that?" She asked once more, before putting a hand on my shoulder and leaning into my ear. "Try something new, you might like it." She added before leaning back, winking at me, then patting my leg. She then turned and walked off, leaving me blushing and scratching my head in confusion.
"Something new, what could she have meant by-" I began before hearing a crinkling sound from my pocket. Reaching in, I pulled out a folded note. I opened it up to see that it said:

It also had a series of numbers, which I quickly recognized and blushed crazily at. Deciding to ignore it for now, I put in the link and found it rather interesting when I read the rules.
Why not? I figured mentally, before choosing my powers.
And wouldn't you know it, on my first choice the internet decided to try and flip me the bird.
Lust Empowerment. Really? When I'm already all hot and bothered! Definitely re-rolling that one. Stupid sexy cosplayer...
Anyway, what else will I get?
Well after re-rolls, I think I wound up in a really good position. Quintessence Force , Inner Beast , Dragon Aura , Weapon Transformation , heck, I even managed to get Flash Step . All in all, not bad.
I had, at that point, decided to try and walk around a bit. I wound up stumbling upon a booth with a variety of scarily accurate props.
"Hello Stranger!" The vendor said. He was dressed as The Merchant from Resident Evil 4.
"Hey." I replied as I began browsing. It didn't take but a few minutes for something to catch my eye. It was a small dragon statue, a western style dragon at that. Colored in a vibrant orange with deep blue spines and black claws. The statue was more like a figurine, it could fit into the palm of my hand, but it was so detailed that I could easily picture it moving and breathing fire.
"Say, how much for this dragon figurine?" I asked the vendor.
"Ah, so it seems that little Masamune has found her place. She's not from anywhere specific, so I've had her for a long time. Because of that, you can take her home for a mere five dollars."
Five bucks?! For something so detailed?!? I'm shocked! Also, Masamune? Oh well, who am I to turn down a good deal. So with that in mind, I quickly puled out my wallet, gave him the bills, and walked out.
Big. Mistake.
Not even five steps out the door and I'm feeling woozy. Oh crap. Now I know why I felt the situation was familiar!
My first thoughts after waking up on my back were along the lines of: Damn that merchant! I regained consciousness rather quickly, though the world spun for a few minutes after. I sat up, ignoring the slight feeling of dizziness that comes from a head rush, and took a quick look around. There were trees, bushes, a dragon, small rocks- wait what?!?
I snapped my eyes back and sure enough, there was a dragon! A fiery orange western style dragon with navy blue spines and blackish gray claws. Right now, it seemed to be unconscious but...
And it just opened its eyes, wonderful. Me and my big- OOF!
To my surprise,the dragon tackled me down and began nuzzling me all over!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I hear a female voice say. I looked around, but didn't see anyone.
Looking back down at the dragon, I asked, "Was that you?"
Yes! Thank you for freeing me from that hideous thing! I've been stuck with him for over twenty years as a statue! She replied, as she looked up at me. Her eyes, which were a warm shade of red, began to brim with tears as she sniffled. "He took me from my home, from my family! The next thing I know, I'm laying in the middle of some kind of circle and he is on the outside, doing some sort of chant. The circle glowed, there was a flash of light...!" At this point, she was openly crying, so I wrapped her in a hug and pat her back. It was a bit strange, considering she was supposed to be a fierce dragon, but she needed a shoulder right now. Don't ask how I know, I just do. Not to mention that she was only about as big as a jack russell terrier.
We stayed like that for a few minutes, I will state once more that I was only providing a shoulder to cry on. The hug had no other meaning.
It lasted a few seconds, a minute, five minutes. Okay now this is getting awkward. Thankfully, she seems to be calming down.
She pulled back and said, Thanks, sorry to put you in such an awkward position...as I said I've been with that creep for over two decades now. I'm just so glad to be free, you know?
"Yeah, I can't say I do. But I do understand why you broke down now." I said as I scratched the back of my head awkwardly. "Anyway, do you know where we are?"
I can't really say that I do, unfortunately. Was her reply, By the way, what's your name? I'm Masamune.
"My name is Smith, Ryan Smith." I said before looking around. The area we were in was extremely barren. No vegetation for as far as I could see. There were a couple of rather large outcroppings of rock on the horizon however. Maybe if I could climb up on them, I could see further and try to map out our surroundings.
I quickly explained my plan to Masamune, who offered to fly up herself. When she tried however, She wound up falling flat on her face. After I managed to stop laughing and help her out, we discovered her wings were weak from underuse . So I simply picked her up, put her on my shoulder, and started walking. I didn't even get ten steps though, before I tripped and landed right on my face. Now it was Masamune's turn to laugh at me as I tried to stand up, rubbing my aching forehead.
"Okay... That stings. What did I-" I began before looking down and seeing my laptop bag! I: checked it to find all of my stuff in there that I had brought with me to the convention. My laptop was there, of course, along with my phone. My phone had no signal of course. What kind of phone had signal in the middle of the desert! There were also a couple of homemade orange sodas I made myself. Oh cool here's the recipe! Here's a couple of bags of jerky, and a couple bags of freeze dried mangoes and appricots.
In case you're wondering why I had all of that food, I am a firm believer in the proverb of 'better to have and not need than need and not have.' If that's not a proverb by now then it should be dammit!
Hey Ryan come on! We're burning daylight! Masamune called, snapping me out of my reverie and allowing me to catch up to her, since she had gone ahead a little ways.
"Sorry, I was checking our-" My attempt to explain was cut short when The ground below us collapsed, dragging us down with it!
I can't believe my luck today...First it was going to the con, then it was buying Masamune, and now I've fallen into a sinkhole. Today...sucks.
Oh lucky me. The ground is coming up really fast. Ugh, I hope it ends quickly!
FLASH
What was that?!? Wait, where did this kusari-gama come from?!? And how do I suddenly know how to use it?!? Whatever, I won't question it right now!
I swung the scythe around a couple of times before stabbing it into the wall and gripping the chain tightly. With a jerk, I managed to stop.
Looking down, I saw that I was not even a few inches off of the ground! A second later and-! *Gulp* I would've been a subterranean pancake!
Whew! That was too close! Are you okay Ryan? I heard Masamune ask from somewhere. It sounded like she was in a glass room or something. I can't see her anywhere-
Look down in your hands silly! She said before giggling. I looked down and observed the kusari-gama again. It had an orange chain, and the weight and scythe handle were both navy blue and the blade was dark gray.
"Masamune?!?" I asked in shock as a red draconic eye appeared on the blade.
Yup! I think I figured out what that creep did to me! She said. I had to admit, I was impressed.
"So how did you do... this?" I asked with a gesture to her new form.
I don't really know, it was more of an instinct than anything else.
"Well whatever. Let's just get outta here. Though for some reason this seems rather familiar."
Maybe 'cuz I have powers like that anime. what was it called? Oh yeah So-
"Boy, you sure know how to mess with people's heads Rarity." A female voice echoed out from a nearby tunnel. Turning around, I saw six anthropomorphic ponies and a dragon. They seemed to be mostly human with animal ears and noses. Their tails were also showing.
Then they noticed me.
Immediately a white pony screamed as the dragon got in front of her and the others protectively. She growled at me as I brought down the scythe blade from the rock wall.
"Who or what the hay are you?!" she snarled.
"Wow you need to take a chill pill! I don't even know how I got here! One minute I'm at a convention, then after finding Masamune here," At this point Masamune turned back, slightly interrupting my rant, "I got teleported to some kind of desert! Then I take maybe five steps and wind up falling. So unless you want trouble, I suggest you back off!"
As I said this, I started to turn around before I noticed Masamune was surrounded by a purple glow and dragged over to the purple unicorn, who was most likely Twilight Sparkle.
HEY! LET ME GO! RYAN HELP! I heard her call through the link as she began to struggle, causing me to glare even harder than I did before at the unicorn.
"I would normally put this in a nicer way, but I have already had a pretty crappy day. So I will only say this once before I resort to force. Put. My. Friend. Down. NOW!" I exclaimed.
Now when i started glaring, my eyes changed. They were no longer static, as the flecks of yellow and blue in them started to change and intermix, adding some small specks of green occasionally. Then my pupil went red and slitted. As I started getting angrier some black scales appeared on my lower arms.
All in all, I was pretty intimidating apparently with my navy trench coat swaying in a nonexistent wind, a red cross on a black tee shirt, and dark gray jeans.
Heck, I think the white pony, who i suspected was likely to be Rarity, even fainted. That caused all of her friends to turn to her, and made Twilight drop Masamune, who quickly flew over and landed on my shoulder. Once it registered that she was safe, I quickly managed to calm down. The changes receded and I turned to go before I stopped again. I couldn't do it, I couldn't just walk away from them like that. Not when it was my fault for making Rarity faint in the first place. Mentally cursing my conscience, I walked over to see what they were doing.
Good thing I did! They were about to lift her head!
"Don't!" I exclaimed, causing most of them to turn to me. "You never lift the head of someone who's fainted!" I explained, causing a yellow pegasus, most likely Fluttershy, to sigh in slight relief.
"Does anyone have a jacket I can borrow?" I asked before one of them, Applejack if the hat was anything to go by, took hers off and handed it to me. I folded it and placed it under Rarity's legs, before explaining that it would help her recover faster due to blood going to her brain.
Sure enough, after a few minutes of waiting, the unicorn began to stir slightly and opened her eyes.
"Oh, hello everyone. I had the most dreadful-!" She began to speak before I stood up and began to walk away, "Oh dear, that was no dream was it?"
Masamune and I had gotten about ten feet away before I heard one of the girls calling for us to wait. I turned and saw the dragoness shyly walking up to me with a hand rubbing the back of her head.
"Look, I ummm...I wanted to apologize. We just got done dealing with some diamond dogs so I was just wanting to protect my sisters. But even after you made Rarity faint you came back and tried to help. Thank you for doing that." She said with a smile before putting her hand forward, "The name's Barb."
"Ryan, Ryan Smith. And this is Masamune." I said with a sigh, "I'm sorry as well. Like I said earlier, this day has gone from bad to worse to downright insane. With everything that's happened lately, I've been extremely on edge. Right now, I just wanna see if I can get home."
unfortunately, no matter how much i wish it was untrue, my Inspiration has dried up. i am doing my best, but the ideAs just aren't coMing to me any more. i have Tried eveRything i cOuLd think of, but my Last train of thought on thIs story hit a dead eNd. Gonna have to apologize to You my dedicated readers, this stOry is not going to be conclUded.

Alright, I am never gonna finish this without help. I am asking you, the readers for help. I need you to give me ideas. I honestly have no clue what you guys want me to put up. I hope to never let you guys down by abandoning this story. Never have I ever gotten the kind of response I have here on this site. So I'm gonna do my best not run around like a chicken with its head cut off and it would hurt to see you guys disappointed in my work.
LOL Made a big joke in the last paragraph but I am serious, I am gonna try and turn this into a quest. So next chapter Twilight and the mane six are going back to Ponyville. Ryan and Masamune are going back with them. What kind of attitude should Ryan take? We have 3 options.
Guarded.
Cautious.
Open.

(A/N: Well, this is embarrassing. Two years since my last real chapter, and I am finally posting again. I can't believe that the plot bunny for this story took so long to find. Okay, maybe I can, I have way too many of the damn things. Anyway, I wound up writing a good portion of this chapter before I got distracted. Then, when I came back a few days ago, I read it over and realized that it was a total shitshow. So now, as of Wednesday, May 30th, 2018, I am restarting. Here goes!
Barb and I talked for a few more minutes, before the blue pegasus, Rainbow Dash no doubt, came over with a pink pony who was almost vibrating, definitely Pinkie Pie.
"Hey, thanks for stopping me earlier. I had no idea about the whole 'don't lift the head' thing." Rainbow said; though it was definitely said grudgingly.
"It's no problem, not many people know someone who faints so not many people know what to do." I replied before looking around, "So um, not to be rude but how are we going to get out of here? Not all of us have wings, you know."
"Actually, we were just trying to figure out ourselves," Twilight said as she came over.
"Oh! Oh! I just realized that we haven't introduced ourselves!" Pinkie said, prompting everyone to do so which confirmed my guesses. After I gave my own introduction, we decided to stick together as we tried to find a way out.
It took a while but over the course of the journey, we made a bit of small talk. Generally trying to get a read on each other's personality. The 'Mane Six' were all pretty much exactly like the show, though Barb more than lived up to her name with her witty nature, unlike her male counterpart.
After about an hour's searching, we finally found an incline leading to an exit. All of us breathed a sigh of relief as we felt the sunlight hit us.
"Oh thank goodness, it was absolutely dreadful in there!" Rarity exclaimed dramatically with a hand over her chest.
"Now normally I'd say you were exaggerating, but for once you're right. Ugh, it's going to take ages to get all of the dust and dirt out from between my scales." Barb agreed.
"Oh come on you two, relax. I know a spell that can make the dirt fall right off. I just need a minute to recharge." Twilight said with a roll of her eyes.
"I can't walk into town like this Twilight! Can't you just tap into the ambient mana in the area?" Rarity whined.
"Oh fine, but judging by the state of the area there probably won't be-!" Twilight said as her horn started glowing at the same time a multi-chromatic energy started flowing from my chest into the said appendage. With a flash, a massive dust cloud was launched with Twilight being at the epicenter.
When the dust settled, we were standing in a shallow but wide crater. Strangely enough, there wasn't a speck of dust on any of us.
"Geez Twi, that was overkill wasn't it?" Rainbow asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Sorry, but there was so much energy coming so quickly that it overloaded the spell. Speaking of which, what was that all about Ryan?" Twilight replied with a glare at me, making me hold my hands in front of my chest.
"Don't ask me! This is the first time something like this has ever happened." I said nervously.
She glared for a few more moments before sighing and massaging her forehead. I heard her mutter something under her breath before her horn glowed and an arrow made of light formed in front of her.
"Come on everyone, Ponyville's this way. I don't know how far away it is." We all nodded and started following her, and within 10 minutes we came across a cart full of gems.
"My cart! I guess that the Diamond Dogs are trying to hold up their end of the bargain. Barb, do you mind...?"
"I would, but I am downright parched," Barb replied, "Hey Ryan, I don't suppose you have anything to drink in that bag of yours?"
"Actually I do. Hope you don't mind orange soda." I said, kneeling down and bringing my bag in front of me. Pulling out a bottle and turning to hand it to her, I was surprised to see her eyeing the bottle warily.
"What is that, and why is it bubbling?" She said with a quiver in her voice.
"It's a soda. The bubbles are carbonation. What, did you think it was a potion or something?"
"Yes, actually."
"Oh. Well don't worry, it's basically flavored water infused with carbon dioxide. Perfectly safe, though it's also known as a junk food." So saying, I tossed the bottle to her, and she hesitantly opened it. The resulting hiss made the others jump, "Oh yeah, forgot that those were pressurized. Relax girls, it was just the gas escaping really quickly."
Barb took a quick sip, that turned into a full-on swig as her eyes widened.
"Holy crap, that is good! Refreshing too!" She exclaimed before finishing off the bottle and handing it back to me when I reached out my hand. With her thirst quenched, she quickly went over and grabbed the handles of the cart. With that, we were once more on our way.
It was another hour before we started seeing grass and trees. The girls got excited, which made me think that we must be getting close to our destination. The sun still shone brightly in the sky, which I wondered about briefly before remembering that Celestia and Luna controlled the sun and moon here.
I was knocked out of my thoughts when I heard a shout of "LOOK OUT BELOW!" I turned my gaze skyward and saw a gray pegasus flailing as she tried to stop her descent. I ran over to where I thought she would land and just barely managed to catch her.
"You okay?" I asked her as I set her down.
"Fine, thanks for the save. I don't know where I went wrong; one second I'm flying smoothly looking for my friends, the next I'm tumbling head over heels." She said while rubbing the back of her head with her eyes closed. When they opened, I could see that they were yellow and crossed.
"Ryan! Derpy! Are you two alright?!" I heard Twilight call out as she and the others ran over.
"We're fine. What took you so long, we can't have been too far away considering how long it took me to get here."
They stared at me for a few moments, before Rarity spoke up.
"Darling, we were at least a quarter of a mile away. You crossed that distance in barely a second." She said in a disbelieving tone, "Are you able to teleport?"
"No," Rainbow said before I could answer, "That wasn't teleportation. I'm used to high speeds and can speed up my perception to match those speeds. I did that and was about to fly over and catch her when I saw Ryan...Leap, I guess. It was like he did a couple of really powerful long jumps." She turned to me then, "How did you do that, anyway?"
"Wait, I did what? Are you serious right now, cuz if you are this is the first time it's ever happened." I said running a hand through my hair in shock.
"Just like the magic coming from you only happened for the first time earlier, right?" Twilight said skeptically.
"He's telling the truth Twilight. He honestly doesn't know what happened." Applejack said.
Twilight turned and started to say something to her friend, but I didn't hear what. Instead, my mind was going a hundred miles an hour. There was a connection there, between these incidents as well as Masamune's transformation and that stuff I did when Twilight captured her. I could tell because they were all very familiar for some reason I couldn't place. It was right at the tip of my tongue but I couldn't muster up enough brain power to...!
That's it, power! More specifically the Super Power Lottery ! All of the powers I'd shown were among my results! First was Weapon Transformation with the kusarigama, then Inner Beast and Dragon Aura when I got angry, Quintessence Force must have turned me into an infinite magical battery that Twilight pulled a charge from, and just now I Flash Stepped to save Derpy!
Holy shit, I...I needed to sit down. So I lopped down to the ground, only to fall flat on my back.
Ryan! I heard Masamune exclaim as she flew over and landed next to me.
"I...I'm ok Masamune. I just had a bit of a nasty shock. Give me a minute to process this." With that shock, came more. I was in Equestria, not on Earth. I was stuck here, with no way home. No way of telling my family that I was okay. Hell, they must be worried sick! Oh man, how in the hell did I get into this!
I was brought out of my shock when I felt a pain in my right hand. Letting out a shout of pain and surprise, I turned to see that Masamune had bitten me!
Ryan, calm down. You were starting to hyperventilate. She explained. As I came to my senses, I realized that I was breathing hard. Slowing down and taking a few deep breaths brought me back to normal.
"Thanks, I needed that. Okay, I think I can keep going now." I said, patting her on the head, which got a sound surprisingly similar to a purr.
With that, I walked over to the others, who seemed to be talking among themselves.
