You're Going To Love Me
A Hard Day's Work
Load Full StoryNext ChapterBand Sickle is finishing his final delivery on his mail delivery cart and he is beat. He picks up the package, steps out of the vehicle, and begins walking to the door of the home. He knocks on the door and places the package in front of it. Then goes back to his cart to drive off.
Band Sickle's eyes are heavily tired, and his feet are killing him from walking most of the day. He notices it's getting dark and he checks his watch, 5:00: his job is over. Band let's out a relaxed sigh and his eyes unwarily close and he begins to snore with his face on the steering wheel. The cart begins to drift to the side slightly and that's when his phone rings, jolting him out of his state of slumber.
"Hey, Dash," Band greets tiredly, "What's up?"
"Uh, you okay, Band," Dash asks concernedly, "You don't sound good."
"Sorry," He says and yawns loudly, "I didn't get much sleep last night and I've been walking most of the day."
"Why? Don't you have a cart?"
Band face-palms himself for what he's about to tell her, "Derpy needed it for most of the day."
"Why?" Dash asks, "She can't even fly straight, let alone drive."
"I don't know. She," He stops to yawn again, "She didn't say why. I was just being polite."
"Well, okay."
"Why'd you call?"
"I was wondering how Fluttershy's doing."
"She's good," Band begins to doze off, but catches himself and jolts back up, "I'm on my way home now, though."
"Really?" Dash asks, slight judgement in her tone.
"What?"
"I didn't hear from Fluttershy that 'she's good.'"
Band's eyes open up completely out of curiosity and possible sadness for Fluttershy, "Why? What's wrong with her?"
"Well she's been... Well... Wanting you."
Band is silent for a moment, processing it, "What?"
"Dude, come on," Dash exclaims.
"I don't know what you mean."
She sighs grudgingly, "I'll just text her to tell you."
"Okay?" Band answers in question.
"Just don't fall asleep when you get home."
"Why?"
Band hears Dash mischievously giggle, which was out of her character, "I suggest it."
He drives up to the cottage and just replies, "Okay. Well, see ya'."
"Bye."
He hangs up and takes the keys from the ignition.
