Following the events of episode 59, after the tornado threatened the lives of Rainbow Dash's friends, Lightning Dust is stripped of her leadership, dignity, happiness and frowned upon.

She is sent away but with an additional twist, Spitfire, disgusted by this, yells at Lightning Dust telling her never to come back and that she is a disgrace to pony kind. Lightning Dust breaks down in tears , dropping to the floor, covering her teary face with her hooves. Rainbow Dash walks over and tries to comfort her but to no avail, she gets even more infuriated.

Dust Glares up at Rainbow Dash, with hateful, teary, and malicious eyes. Angry and crying, she then flies away to her home in Cloudsdale and stays in solitude for long time planning revenge to get back at Rainbow Dash. When the opportunity presents itself, she is asked to come to Manehattan in the absence of Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash.

She later travels with the Twilight, Rarity, Applejack and Pinkie Pie to Manehattan and tries to execute her plan by adding a drop of a potion given by her friend Glinda into a bowl of fruit punch at a party. All goes according to plan until she realizes she has neglected her friend's warnings. However, oblivious to her mistake she proceeds with the plan.

After planning it out, she sprays her coat, mane and tail with waterproof manespray, gets a cutie mark sticker and gets some contacts to look exactly like Rainbow Dash to set her up along with the help of Glinda's magic to sound exactly like her.

When the chance arrives, being alone with pinkie and with a concealed weapon, she sets the plan in action. However the very next day to her horror, she sees the effects of the potion work too well and instantly regrets everything.
