Cahpter 1: I have no name.
The Colony was everything. They were born as one; they fought as one; and they died as one, driven by their hunger. But I hunted for something more.
I stole the sentience of an ancient power, and saw greater purpose. For we were the first--Auriga is our planet, and I will turn our hunger against those trespassers who would take it from us. One day, we will reign supreme on Auriga. And we will gaze up at the stars… still hungry.
I love that intro, no matter how many times I see it. It’s still cool, there was even some new games out this year. My name is Tomise and I’m cosplaying as He who meddles. There leader of the faction called necrophages. A army of bug cross undead army.
I had the full outfit only thing missing was the two knives and the extra two arms. I wasn’t going to mess around with trying to stick two more arms on me that just get in the way.
I was enjoying myself when I noticed someone walking away dressed as someone from wow with sword. It looked so real, by the time I found out where he got it from it looked like the guy was starting to close up.
“Oh man don’t tell me your closing up?” I asked in the hope he wasn’t. The guy had a hood over his head and looked like that guy from destiny. I can’t remember his name.
“Hello what do you seek?” He asked stopping what he was doing and looked at me. He must of wanted to go all in or home with those glowing eyes. Must be some kind of contacts or something.
“I was just going to look around but if you’re closing up.” He held out a hand to stop me before taking a long look at me.
“I think I know what missing.” He said before looking into a box. Once he pulled something out of the box I was shocked at what he had in his hands. They looked like the knives that He who meddles has in the game.
“I can sell you these for 80.” As soon as he said that I smiled under my mask. Oh hell yes I was getting these. He took my money and I took the knives, as soon as I turned around something felt wrong. My body was getting heavy, everything was going dark, I try to take my mask off and call for help. All I could see went dark.
When I woke up I felt strange, something was wrong but I didn’t know why. I felt trapped and could not see, I reached out with my hands and felt a wall. No, it was to small to be a wall. I felt around in the small space until I realized couldn’t get out.
I was trapped and couldn’t breath! I needed to get out, I hit my hands on the walls and kicked out with my legs. I felt the walls give away as I saw a crack of light. ‘Freedom’ Was the only thought going through my mind as I punched the wall until it gave way.
A rush of liquid fell away as the cocoon fell apart. I gasped for air as my eyes adjusted to the new light. Once they did I saw I was high up on some kind of stone. Not only that I saw glowing pools that don’t look like water, the most shocking thing I saw was the bones in the pools.
I then quickly felt something wrong as I reached for my face as my hand felt it. I realize two things one. I had four arms now, not only that I had mandibles instead of a mouth. I looked at myself in horror and screamed.
Once I calmed down and stop sobbing I then looked around for a way out. Past the cocoons and out the tunnels, but before that I had to get down. Climbing down was easy for me and that when I saw something familiar. My cloak folded up and the two knives setting there on top waiting for me.
I walked over and took the knives and put on the cloak. That when I heard the others, the other cocoons were hatching. I didn’t feel any fear but I should! I needed to leave I needed to get out but that when I felt a pain in my gut. I felt hungry, no I was starving! I fell to the floor in pain as the cocoon’s hatch.
With a screech I saw the first necrophage it looked around and went to the pool to drink from it. I try to move but I gasped out in pain. Once it saw me I feared for my life, the necrophage Forager walked over. As it mandibles moved and clicked at me as it grabbed my arm, I was in too much pain to resist.
It took me to the pool and dropped me next to it, as soon as my head dropped close to the green goo. Something snapped in my mind ‘Food’ I greedily started eating. I didn’t even care I was pulling bones out and started eating them. Once I was done the pain was gone I had my fill but… I was still hungry.
I looked at the Forager as it went off to help the others in the cocoons. It then walked back over to me once the others started getting to work. Pulling thoses who hatched out and over to the pool to feed and those who haven’t yet.
“What your name?” I asked, my voice sounded just like He who meddles. How was any of this passable? I thought to myself.
“I have no name.” The Forager said before asking me a question that changed my life from there on out. “What is your name?”
“My name…” I… I can’t remember, I can’t remember my name! I panicked as I hold my head. My names gone lost, all because of that man in the hood. He did this to me. But for now I needed a name. I stand up and look over the necrophages come to life one by one as they hatch out of their cocoons.
“My name is He Who Meddles. And we have a hive to build.” I said as I scream at them and they returned my screech with there own. I quickly get to work as I climb up the tunnel with the necrophages following behind. I didn’t understand or care why they followed me up to the surface. All I knew was, I had to feed this hunger before I feel that pain again.
We needed to feed.
Once outside I saw we was in a forest. So much green there must be fruit around here, This will do for our home. I then heard the buzzing of wings from deeper in the hive. As the Necrodrone crawl out one by one hissing and looking around.
I gave them orders to fly around to find a good source of food for the hive. And I told some to stay close to the hive and keep it safe. I found out the hive was at the foot of a mounting and not far from us. I saw what looked like ponies or something living in a small town, I didn’t care all I knew was I was hungry again.
I ordered the hive to attack, we took the town killed the guards who are wearing gold armour. Really? I thought thinking that there army must be stupid if they're using gold for armour. I went down to look at my hives handy work. That when I saw what looked like a forage and one of my Foragers dragging a pony out who was dressed like a blacksmith?
“Stop.” I ordered as the Forager let the pony go, just as the pony was about to run a Necrodrone lands blocking the pony only way to escape. I walked over looking over the forge, it armor and weapons.
“W-what do you want?!” The Pony asked with fear in his voice, I was a little shocked that it could talk. But I didn’t care, I had a hive to feed and I needed food. What it matter where it come from, but the thing I need most was knowledge.
“I have use of your skills.” I said as I looked into the pony eyes and saw fear. "And what you know."
