A good nights rest is all I need
Why does nopony like my stories?
"Rainbow Dash hung off the cliff, wings flailing uselessly as one got caught in a large bush. She wailed in terror as the beast stomped out of the shadows, throwing its head in the air as it picked up her fear-scent. Soon, it loomed over the edge, glaring into her panic-stricken eyes with an evil grin. Suddenly, I flew from behind it, using all my strength to push the Ursa Major down the craggy ravine. I helped the rainbow-maned mare out of the bush and glowed with awesomeness. She congratulated me over and over again as we trotted home into the sunset. I wonder if this'll ever happen again" I yawned, looking down at my work. It was completed, I had written my first story about Rainbow and me, Scootaloo. My hoof ran over the copy, feeling every line, every layer as it brushed against the book, it felt incredible. As I yawned again, I heard a faint, yet familiar yell from downstairs, my mother screeching at me to get to bed.
"Night Mum, night Dad!" I called, placing my masterpiece into my saddlebag before clambering into bed and playing a lullaby on my music box. When my eyes felt heavy, I leaned to my left and blew out the tiny, flickering candle. Dreams envelopes my empty vision after a few minutes of listening to the soft melody, revealing images of Rainbow Dash as my sister and being a worse flier than me. Our adventures started off small, but grew into quests for glory in next to no time at all.
The next day, I woke up early with a huge smile on my face as I leaped out of bed and raced to the clubhouse without a bite to eat. The eagerness to show my friends was unbearable as I rapped my hoof on the door. Applebloom and Sweetie Belle were already there, looking slightly dazed as the small wooden panel opened with a small creak.
"Scootaloo, what in tarnation caused you to call us this early? You're barely keeping still like a chicken stuck with a fox, no offence." Applebloom questioned dreamily, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes and biting them slightly to wake up properly. In truth, I felt most of the tree move from my exited jumping, and the chicken joke no longer bothered me after getting accustomed to it. Without uttering a word, I thrust the book into the half-awake filly's face, my grin widening as she read the cover.
"Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo's Major Adventure? Scoots, did you write this?" she questioned, tilting her head slightly in amazement. The joy rushing through my veins forced me to shake my head up and down faster than Dash and the Wonderbolts put together.
"Read... It!" I stuttered, regaining control over my body as her face became more intrigued, Sweetie Belle leaning over her shoulder, constantly squeaking and whispering. The only words I could comprehend from her dreary, yet enthusiastically squeaky voice were "Open it!" The two fillies began to walk inside, reading the text out loud in unison while silently beckoning me to come in. A few minutes later, their smiles faded, reading out the last words and small frowns appearing on their awakened faces.
"Did ya like it?" I asked with a worried edge to my voice. My two friends stood there for a couple of seconds, frowning slightly at one another until Sweetie Belle's voice piped up with
"It was amazing, we just wished it hadn't ended!" small beads of sweat appearing unnoticeably on her forehead as her eyes shot from side to side.
"Yeah, I really can't wait for your next book!" Applebloom called out as a trembling smile pulled across her lips. I jumped what felt like a few feet in the air with excitement, when I noticed their expressions.
"It's ok if you don't like it, it's my first one and I don't mind." I informed them kindly, picking up the wooden block of paper and placing it into my saddlebag. They stood there, unmoving. I looked at the clock and squeaked a little,
"WE'VE GOT 5 MUINUETES TO GET TO SCHOOL!" The other two fillies snapped out of their trance and leapt into the little red box with wheels behind my scooter just before I revved my tiny wings into full gear, zipping down the hills, through Ponyville and onto the school grounds with just moments to spare.
