*Ring Ring*
Celestia groaned out loud as she turned off her alarm. Although she was a morning pony, she always hated getting up. As Celestia opened her eyes, she smiled when saw her little pride and joy, who was snuggled up in ball where his father usually was. Seeing is how her husband, Discord, was fixing a magic problem with Twilight out of the country for the week, it meant she got to spend time and cuddle with her loving, but mischievous son, Turmoil.
She licked his little mane. "Morning, cupcake,” she said with a coo.
Turmoil yawned. "Mommy? What time is it?”
“5 am," Celestia replied. "I was wondering, since we had our little slumber party last night, if you would you like to watch me rasie the sun?”
“Can I raise it?” he asked, still half-asleep.
“When your older, perhaps. But you can still help!” she told him.
“Okay!” He got up and stretched, hopped out of her bed, and trotted over to the balcony.
“I’m cold mommy," Turmoil complained. With that said, the white alicorn wrapped her wing around him, pulling him closer
Things started out as usual. She gently lowered the moon as always, but when she got to the sun, it seems heavier than before.
'Strange,' she thought to herself.
“Can I raise it now?” he said impatiently.
“Okay, but it is heavier to then most days, so be very, very careful."
Celestia and the colt wrapped their magic around the fiery ball and lifted it with all their might!
“It's too heavy, I'm going to stop!”
“Alright, hon!” she said, while grunting and sweating.
When the ball was visible, it turned out it wasn't the sun, but a giant ball of fool's gold with words on it.
“What's it say?” Turmoil asked.
“Happy April Fools' Day Tia! Love Luna and Discord,” Celestia explained.
“Whats April Fools day?” He asked.
“Oh, it's an old, silly holiday started by jesters and clowns where ponies would pull little pranks on each other!”
“Really?!” Turmoil exclaimed.
“Yep!” Celestia grinned at her son.
“But daddy and I do that all the time!”
“I know, but it’s a special day devoted to that sort of stuff," she said.
“Can we celebrate mommy, please?” he begged.
“Sure, as long as you promise to only make those silly pranks and not mean ones, you got it?” Celestia asked.
“Okay!” he cried.
Celestia smiled warmly. “Good! Why don't you order breakfast while I try change this fool's gold back into plasma?”
Later, after breakfast, Raven and Celestia were working on their paperwork.
“So, the senator wants us to look over these apportion papers.”
“Great,” Celestia said sarcastically, "I love working on controversial material.”
Celestia grabbed the papers and started to skim. Suddenly Raven felt as if she was going mad for she saw a quill floating in mid-air. There was no pony in sight. Who could be levitating it?
“Your highness?” Raven began nervously
“Please, no talking while I'm reading!”
Raven was too scared to do anything, and she watched in horror as the the quill started to draw on the royal head.
Celestia, who was deep in reading, couldn't help but feel a tickle on her head. She looked up and saw a quill doodling on her head. It dropped.
Celestia rolled her eyes and said; "Raven, I know it’s April Fools Day, but this is very immature of you!”
“It wasn't me, your highness!” Raven protested. "I think it was a ghost!”
There was distant laughter coming behind the door to the throne room.
“Or, it was a mischievous little prince!” Celestia said. Celestia totted over the door and the laughter became louder! She walked behind the door. "There you are, you little stinker!” Celestia said playfully.
“April Fools, mommy!” he laughed
“Okay, you little Ashton Hoofer, the fun's over!” Celestia said.
“But, it wasn’t mean!” Turmoil cried.
Celestia thought about it for a second. "Rude yes, but I suppose it was harmless.”
Celestia bent down to his level and said; "Please just keep the pranks less rude, okay sweetheart?”
“Okay!” he agreed
“Good." She kissed him on the forehead.
Turmoil, noticing Raven bashfully trotting up, said to her; "I’m sorry for scaring you, miss Raven.”
Raven sighed, knowing he was a young colt and didn't know any better. "It's alright kid," she said.
“Good. Now, Miss Raven and I have a lot of work to do, so could you go play somewhere else?”
“Okay!” He trotted down the hallway.
“Foals, what are you going to do with them?” Celestia joked.
Raven rolled her eyes and said; "Let's get back to work.”
Turmoil troted down the big hallways wondering who to prank next. There were the ponies who visited half of his house only look at it and have a lady talk about the history of it. But Daddy and mommy told him to not bother them.
As he wondered about it, he came across his Aunt Luna's bedroom. For some reason, she slept most of the day, and Mommy told him to not wake her up unless it was an emergency or a holiday. This was a holiday, so it must be okay!
Gently he cracked up opened the door to the dark bedroom room, and tried to figure out what to do.
'Mommy wouldn't like it if I did something without a reason,' he thought to himself. “What if I pretend there is a monster attack, and I can use that spell that they taught me?”
Turmoil looked around for a round object, and found a pillow lying on the ground. He lifted it and used a spell and turned it into what Daddy calls a somewhat living organism, meaning it turned a object and it has a face and arms, but it didn't have much of a brain!
He placed it on her bed, and shook her and said; “Auntie Luna! Auntie Luna!”
She woke up, scared. "What? What is it, child?”
“There are monsters attacking the castle!”
“Really, where?" Luna cried.
"Right in front of you!" Turmoil exclaimed.
She saw a round object with long, skinny legs and long buggy eyeballs!
“Watch out, my nephew! It could be dangerous." She grabbed the colt and hid behind the bed.
The creature stood there with no movement whatsoever, drooling. Luna charged her horn, and blast! The creature was shot! Fluff flew from the air and the eyes, arms and mouth disintegrated into air.
“April Fools', Auntie Luna!” He trotted out, laughing.
Luna plopped back on the bed and growled. How could she be so gullible?
The day progressed and the colt continued to play pranks on the ponies in the castle. He pranked the royal guards, the maid and the gardener. Celestia was getting complaints and had to think of something. Luna, who gave up trying to get back to sleep, was with her sister, thinking of ideas.
“He’s getting out of hoof, sister,” Luna said.
“I know, but when he's in a pranking mood, it's impossible to reason with him," Celestia replied.
“Should we send him to reform camp to keep him from pranking?”
“Heavens no, aside from being a prankster he is a sweet and gentle colt and isn't as bad as the foals who go there. Besides he would be heartbroken and devastated if he didn't see Discord and I for several years, like the foals who go there.”
“Then we prank him back,” Luna said. “Make him think you're leaving him because of this.”
“I don’t know. I'd hate to scare him or make him cry," Celestia answered.
Luna wrapped her wing around her big sister. "My big sister once told me the morals come from the toughest times.”
Celestia smiled. "Okay, let's do it!”
The small colt was happily trotting down the hallway with a juice box when his mother came around, very stern.
“Hi, mommy!” he said, hugging her.
“Don’t act so cute, young stallion, because you're in major trouble.”
“What did I do?” he asked, confused.
“Turmoil, you have been pranking so many ponies that it's getting out of hoof!” Celestia told him.
“I’m sorry!” he said, frowning.
“It’s too late,” she said, very strict." Because of your actions, I must send you to a special school where they deal with ponies like you!”
“Really?”
“Yes, I packed you a suit cases, let's get going!” Celestia guided him to the back carriage area where a tall, blue unicorn stood. She had her hair in a bun wearing clothes that looked like what a genreal would wear. She a odd black hat and a mole and ruler.
“Is this the little troublemaker that needs to be reformed?” she said in a Eastern Equestrian accent.
“Yes, I'm afraid so!” Celestia said, very sad.
“What do they mean by reformed, mommy?”
“Sightless, tiny, future chemical,” the mare said. “My name is Olga Barkerhoof. Your mother has told me that you've been a very naughty colt and need to be fixed!”
“I'm not naughty!” Turmoil protested.
“Yes, you are! Excessive pranking is the most naughtiest thing a pony can do!” Olga explained. "Now get in the carriage, we have to get to the frozen side of Equestria, stat!”
“Is mommy coming?” he said, scared.
“No, sweetie I won't, in fact I'll probably never see you again!” Celestia said.
“What! Mommy, no, don't leave me!” he cried out, grabbing her giant hoof.
“I’m sorry. But maybe if you didn't prank so much then I wouldn't be leaving you.”
“But, Mommy!” he said, in tears.
Olga dragged the colt away from her. "Time to go!”
The carriage opened its dark doors, revealing a carriage with no windows!
He trotted onto two of the steps and looked back and saw mommy not even shedding a tear.
“Go!” Olga said slapping his behind with the ruler.
"OW, that hurt!” Turmoil said.
“Discipline hurts, child!” Olga shouted, pushing him in.
“Bye, Turmoil, remember to brush your teeth!” Celestia called, waving.
The carriage door closed. Turmoil sat and crying in the dark.
“Now that we are in the carriage, I must put you in a blindfold.” Olga said.
“Why?” he asked confused.
“Because that is the rules!” she said strictly. She put the blindfold on him tight, making sure he couldn't see.
The carriage stopped, and Turmoil heart raced.
“We have reached your destination.”
“I can't see.”
"Don't worry, I will guide you."
The carriage opened. He trotted out, but it didn't feel like it was snowing as the colt felt the sidewalk.
“Forward!” Olga said.
He could hear the door opening with a ring. And was that cake he smelled?
“You can take of your blindfold.”
He took it of.
“APRIL FOOLS!” Celestia said, jumping in the air.
The colt was shocked to find he wasn't at a scary school. But at his mother and his favorite cake shop in the world! Which they only went to on special occasion, as his Daddy hated cake.
“Mommy, you scared me!” he exclaimed.
“I know, but she did it out of love,” Olga said, sounding a lot like his Aunt Luna. And when he looked behind him it was her!
“Why?”
Celestia trotted over, wrapping her wing around him. "Because I wanted to teach you that too many pranks are a bad thing!” She nuzzled his face.
“So, you're not leaving me?” Turmoil asked.
“Of course not, I would never leave you! You're too precious and lovable to do so!” She smiled and gave him another hug.
“What we're trying to say is; pranks are good in moderation and if they're not hurtful. But doing too many makes them hurtful,” Luna said.
“Oh," he said, ashamed. “I’m sorry, I thought it would be fun!”
“We know, just be more careful next time!” said Celestia
“I love you, mommy!” He said, hugging her.
“I love you as well, my sunshine.” She kissed him on the cheek.
“As do I, my nephew,” Luna said, joining the hug.
“Now are we going to have a hug, or get some cake?” Celestia asked eagerly.
“Let's get some!” He said, running to the counter.
Celestia smiled and walked up.
“I'll have peanut butter chocolate, please!” said Turmoil.
“And I'll have banana cheesecake.”
Hearing those words gave Turmoil an idea. While Luna was ordering he whispered; "Mommy.”
Celestia peeked down and whispered back. "What is it?”
“I know you don't want anymore pranks but I thought of a good one!”
“What is it?”
Turmoil whispered his idea. Celestia smiled.
“What are you talking about?”
"Oh, nothing," they said in unison.
