London Monitor in Equestria
Chapter 13
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"Hans? Is that you?" asked Kessler disbelievingly.
"Yes....Sir" nodded Hans slowly.
"Holy shit! Its good to see you brother," exclaimed Kessler as he wrapped Hans in a tight hug.
"Its good too see you as well" replied Hans.
As the two of them broke the hug, Hans looked around in his new environment and noticed he was standing in grass rather than the hard concrete streets of London. He noticed a metal object next to Kessler and thought it was some sort of metal pillar, but when he started to look up he got the biggest surprise in his life. There it was, standing at a proud 80 meters was the London Monitor, good as new and combat ready.
"Uhhh......Sir....is that-"
"Yes, yes it is, its real" answered Kessler.
"Acknowledge" boomed the Monitor.
"What....but how? It was destroyed. What...just what?" stammered Hans as he tried to process everything.
"Well I hate to break it too you my friend, but we are now in a different world" informed Kessler.
"Different world? How? Did someone teleport us? What country achieved that? Japan?" asked Hans simultaneously.
"Umm.......not exactly. You see I was summoned here just like you lot and also the Monitor"
"So who summoned us exactly?"
"Your not going to believe this, but a bunch of "ponies"" began Kessler as he put emphasis on the "ponies"
"You have got to be kidding me....just how much weed did you smoke?" asked Hans.
"I am not kidding, in fact have a look" said Kessler as he stepped to one side to reveal Celestia and Luna.
Hans's brain immediately stopped working when he saw the two coloured ponies. The one on the right seemed to be covered in white fur and had a multicoloured mane which seemed to flow in a different direction, and was apparently bigger than the one next to it. The next pony had a dark blue coat with a slightly lighter dark blue mane which also flowed in one direction. And it seems that the both of them had horns which indicated that they were unicorns. This gave Hans a headache because these ponies look like they came straight out of a cartoon. And not only that but they had horns, which meant a girl must be in charge of all this.
"Umm Kessler, do you mind explaining what I am looking at" asked Hans.
"Why of course, this is Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. They are the rulers of this land and the only means of us returning to our world" said Kessler gracefully.
"Thats it I must be dead" exclaimed Hans, as he threw his hands up in the air.
"No, your not dead. Far from it actually" said Kessler.
"Well I can't believe a bunch of ponies can do this,"-he said while waving his arms around the scenery,-"and how do they even govern this land? Do they even talk?"
"Yes, we can talk human" replied the white pony which he presumed to be Celestia.
"Shit! They can talk?" exclaimed Hans.
"Yes we can human, we all can talk in this great land of ours" said the blue pony.
"Ah....umm....umm, thats it I give up! I cannot comprehend all off this" said Hans before sitting down on the soft grass and removed his helmet. Which revealed a young dashing face with blue eyes and brown hair.
"Well let me tell you something Hans" began Kessler as he sat down next to him.
"This land is real and everything you see is real, the fact I'm here means that its all real"
Hans nodded his head slowly, he started to comprehend his surroundings and gave in to the fact it was real.
"Fine, Ill believe you" said Hans defeatedly.
"Haha its good to see you" said Kessler happily as he nudged his friend.
"How are we going to explain it too them?" said Hans, pointing a finger to the rest of the squad without looking.
"We hear everything" came a familiar voice.
Both Hans and Kessler turned around and saw all four of the squad members standing and waiting for them to reply.
"What? When did you wake up?" asked Hans immediately.
"Umm the part where you said that talking horses rule this land, yeah" replied the soldier in the same armour as Hans.
"Victor?" asked Kessler.
"Yep, Its me sir" replied Victor.
"All members remove your helmets" ordered Hans, as the rest of the squad started removing their helmets to reveal their faces underneath those dreaded protective masks.
"I cant believe it" said Kessler, now standing before him was his squad and his friends. He looked at Victor who still had the same jet black hair and cocky face which never changes. He looked at Bobby, who still had that look for scaring people away, but deep down he's a softie. He looked at Erwin, who still had that happy look of his and his curly blonde hair adds to that. And then there was John, the look of "I'm going to kill you later" was still written on his face, but he was like Bobby, only more noisier, he had short black hair which meant he always follows protocol haircuts.
"Look at you lot, you guys didn't even change one bit" he said while extending his hands outwards.
"Group hug!" yelled Victor as he ran straight up too Kessler and wrapped him in a tight hug, followed by the rest off the gang.
"Ok...guys...can't...breath" gasped Kessler before the group let him go.
"Haha you haven't changed one bit Sir" commented Bobby.
"And it looks like we will have to adjust to this new place foe the tome being" remarked Erwin.
"So mind telling us what we are going to do in the meantime sir?" asked John.
Kessler looked at the group and scratched his head, he had no idea what to tell them first.
"Well for starters, I just joined up fighting for this land to save these ponies from doom" said Kessler sheepishly.
"Wait, these ponies are at war?" asked Hans.
"Yep"
"With who?" asked Victor.
"Griffons" said Kessler, expecting a look of shocked faces.
"Oh right, Griffons, well I'm not going to argue since this land has talking ponies. Might as well throw in Griffons" said Hans.
"And there is also Minotaurs and Ram's" informed Kessler.
"Right...that too"
"So exactly what are we gonna do? Fight until we reach the capital?" asked Erwin skeptically.
"At this point I'm not sure, I haven't been able to think of a plan yet. Sure we could go in guns blazing towards their capital, but what about the civilians? We may as well look like murderers" replied Kessler.
"Well how bout we just let the ponies fight? I mean they must have guns or something" Bobby said.
"They have weapons, only that its swords and spears, and crossbows. The enemy however has guns, which means they will turn the battlefield into a meat grinder" said Kessler grimly.
"Excuse me gentlemen, but we have some news for you, we may not be at a disadvantage here. Since we have captured a wide supply of these guns from the northern front, we have decided to alter them in our favour. We have already replicated a dozen or so of these weapons and have fitted them to some of the soldiers in the battlefield" said Luna who was standing to one side.
"Say what, you have access to guns now? Well thats some news. At least the battlefield will be even now" remarked Kessler.
"How many of these weapons have you produced so far?" asked John.
"So far we have only twelve, but by the end of the week, at least around 50" answered Luna.
"Well thats some good news, I suggest you put more work into manufacturing those guns and bullets. Since you need to distribute them to everyone of your soldiers in the front lines" said Kessler.
Just as Luna was about to speak up, a messenger appeared with a tired look.
"Princess! Grave news from Las Pegasus! The Minotaurs have taken the city and are holding hostages! All of them are royal guards and if we don't surrender. They will execute them by sun down tomorrow and burn the city!" exclaimed the pegasus grimly.
"Thank you for the message kind one, you may leave now" ordered Luna as she turned back towards the men.
"This is bad news my friends" said Luna.
"It is bad, now you have lost a city, which means that they will be using that place as a F.O.B" commented Victor.
"Alright men, looks like were going to re-take that city" began Kessler as he stood up straight.
"We are? We barely even know whats going on and we're just going to fight immediately?" asked Hans skeptically.
"Who cares I want to shoot something! It been awhile since I have shot anything" remarked Erwin.
"Same here, I've been itching for a fight" motioned John.
"Well how about you lot?" asked Hans as he looked at the two remaining members.
The two of them, Victor and Bobby both looked at each other and nodded. Meaning that they agreed to fight.
"*sigh guess I can't change your mind, what the heck count me in" said Hans as he looked at Kessler with a smile.
"Sir! Wolfpack squad reporting for duty!" shouted Hans as he and the rest of the squad stood to attention.
"All right listen up! Your going to be fighting enemies who are skilled with firearms and are not to be underestimated, got it? Good. We will be using the pods over there to drop into the city while the Monitor will distract the enemy long enough for us too sneak out the survivors and kill the remaining troops once were done" barked Kessler.
"Sir yes Sir!" replied the rest of the squad.
"All right move to the pod and get yourself some ammo" motioned Kessler to the Mk IV pod.
"Monitor, I need you to re-attach the other pod, so that if we need backup you can launch them straight away" ordered Kessler as he spoke through the comm set.
"Roger" it replied.
"Oh and one last thing, where do you keep the ammo?"
"Look inside the launch bay for the Guard Robots, you should find some ammo crates there" it replied.
"Right"
"Pod, open up launch bay, we need ammo" said Kessler as he approached the pod. Without further a due the side of the pod opened up and revealed the lined up Guard Robots all in standby mode. As Kessler moved to the side he spotted a black ammo cache and walked over to it. He opened it up and inside was all the ammo for specific weapons sorted neatly.
"Hey lads, ammo is here. Get what you need" he ordered.
As Kessler exited the pod, he went over to the ladder and began climbing it. After reaching the top he wasted no time getting inside and headed straight for the weapons locker. Kessler opened the armour locker and found the armour he used last night looking good and new. After removing his clothes and putting on the combat clothes and armour, he went to the locker and picked his load out. He chose an upgraded assault rifle with the underslung rocket. He grabbed 8 clips for the assault rifle and place them in their specified pouches. He chose a full barrel for the rocket launcher, meaning he can only shoot one clip and he would be out. He chose his secondary weapon and equipped the belt fed shotgun. He got 2 magazines for them and put them in their respective places. He grabbed a medkit and placed it on his lower left leg. He got his combat knife and sheathed on his right side. After putting on his helmet and mask he gave the Monitor and order.
"Don't use the laser cannon, as much a possible we want to keep casualties to a minimum. Use your rockets and gatlings, do you know where Las Pegasus is?"
"Affirmative Sir, Las Pegasus has already been saved to my database and I have transferred the coordinates to the pods. I have done scouting and it seems the enemy has fortified the place. I shall clear the way if needed" it replied.
"All right thanks for the info I shall radio in later once we touch down, you will inform us of any incoming threats"
"Roger" it replied.
Kessler proceeded out of the room and began exiting the Monitor. After reaching the ground he found the pod already fired up and ready to go. He saw no sign of his squad meaning that they must be inside already. As Kessler went inside the pod he was greeted by dark figures inside the fairly cramped space. It was enough to fit all of them, thankfully.
"All right whats your load out?" asked Kessler a the door shut behind him and the pod started to rise.
"Standard trooper armour and assault rifle with rocket upgrade" said Hans.
"Same here" came Victor.
"Fire trooper armour and fully loaded shotguns ready to take out targets!" exclaimed Erwin.
"Standard trooper armour with AR marksman as load out" said Bobby.
"Rocket Trooper armour and assault rifle with rocket launcher upgrade" said John.
"All right get you know the plan, rescue the hostages and make sure they get to safety then only can we blast the living daylights outta those Minotaurs" said Kessler, as he got a collective response of nods.
"Its dark in here" said Hans.
"Wasn't it the same with the Russian front? We're basically riding the same thing that took us to battle years ago" Erwin commented.
"You have a point there" replied Hans.
"4 hours left until destination arrival" boomed the P.A
"Well thats quite a long trip guess find some seats guys, were going to be here for awhile" informed Kessler.
As the rest of the squad retracted the foldable seats in the dimly lit area each of them tended to their own things.
"Well I'm going to sleep" informed Victor as he leaned his head back on the wall.
"Yeah me too" began Bobby as he also leaned his head against the wall.
"Well me and John are gonna check our weapons" said Erwin as he started disassembling his assault rifle.
Kessler looked around the place, he pondered on what would happen during the rescue attempt. Sure he was confident they would win, but the thought of losing one of his friends was unbearable. He has known these guys since he first returned to London from America, losing any of them would result in him being unstable for awhile. Which might end up in him slaughtering the entire enemy army if he wanted too. All these thoughts were cut short when he was nudged on the arm by his seat mate.
"Hey, you alright?" asked Hans concerningly.
"Yeah, just thinking about stuff" replied Kessler.
"Say, how did you get along well with those ponies?" asked Hans curiously.
"Well lets just say that we went through some misunderstanding, but in the end we figured it out" answered Kessler.
"Well thats one way to put it"
"You don't say"
"So where did you wake up? In the same place as we did?"
"Nope, I woke up in a bloody clearing surrounded by a forest. And with the Monitor"
"Well thats something"
"Tell me about it"
"Say, what happened while I was gone?"
"Well the higher ups weren't pleased to find one of their officers and a giant robot disappeared in an instant. And then just a few days later two Panzerhunds went missing, command authorised a search and rescue for you and the Panzerhunds. While that was happening the rebels have been more active lately, but now security is tight around London. More checkpoints have been put up, drones are everywhere. They even went to the trouble of positioning a battleship to guard the harbour and inspect all trade vessels"
"Wow, I am missing out on alot"
"Oh trust me you do not want to be there, riots keep on breaking out all over the place and we have to resort to violence most of the time. There was a massacre down at the markets one time, where the people attacked a soldier. Of course the soldier didn't retaliate because its again code law to shoot un armed people. But then the guy was killed and all hell broke loose. The police and army had to put down the uprising quickly an they just opened fire at everybody they saw. It was a nightmare, children, women, all sorts of people were caught up in the crossfire. It was just pure utter chaos"
"Jeez what the hell were they thinking?"
"I don't know"
"Any thing else good?"
"Well my family is doing all right, the kids are now in High school and were all satisfied"
"Huh good job"
"Yeah"
As Kessler and Hans chatted for the rest of the trip, they discussed about various topics. From war to life to comedy even about the rest of the squad.
"Jeez how long have we been talking for?" asked Kessler
"Dunno" replied Hans.
"2 hours until arrival" the P.A said.
"Well I'm going for some shut eye" said Kessler as he moved into a more comfortable position.
"Guess I'll do that as well"
As the both of them drifted off to sleep the pod cruised through the afternoon sky towards enemy territory. Meanwhile the Monitor was busy doing its fast walk, it wont reach the place before the pod does. So the rescue group will have to wait for the Monitor to arrive before they can launch any sort of attack. As the Monitor made its slow journey, it had roughly 5 hours left if it kept at this pace.
"I was made to traverse cities not open fields" it thought as it continued walking.
As the pod rattled and shook wildly during the turbulence, the occupants inside however weren't affected by it. Everyone was either asleep or doing their own thing. Everyone was immediately awoken when the P.A system came on.
"5 Minutes till arrival"
"Shit better get ready to secure the LZ" groaned Kessler as he stood up to stretch his back.
Seeing everyone around him stirring up, he decided to pick up his assault rifle and hold onto the bars for a soft landing.
"Rise and shine dick heads, were approaching our destination" barked Hans at the other teammates.
"Are we gonna start shooting when we land?" groaned Victor as he got up.
"Sadly, No, without support from the Monitor we can't assault the place. We will have to wait for it to arrive, until then we have to secure our LZ" informed Hans.
"Oh great more waiting" complained John.
"Quit whining, you'll get your chance when the Monitor arrives" replied Hans.
"Prepare to exit in 3,2,1 GO!" boomed the speaker.
Wolfpack squad immediately filed out of the pod in quick succession while scanning the area for hostiles. After seeing the area was clear, the pod shut its thrusters down and put the remaining power to its hatches. As the rest of the squad set up a small campfire in their place, some decided to go find firewood while some decided to go scouting. After awhile the squad returned and shared their piece of adventure.
"So what dis you find in the woods?" asked Kessler as he looked at Victor and Bobby.
"Eh just a few animals and wood basically, what about you?" answered Victor
"Eh we found the enemy base alright, its just over the ridge line. Lucky we landed here so I think they didn't spot us" assumed Erwin.
"Well what time till the Monitor gets here?" asked John.
"In about the next hour or so" answered Kessler.
As the group decided to wait for the Monitor they passed the time by telling stories of each others past. Some were hilarious, others were dark and some were just plain outright stupid. Just as everyone was about to go to sleep, they were interrupted by rumbling footsteps. As everyone turned to see what it was. They saw the Monitor come around from the mountain with it powerful headlights. Everyone looked away from the lights as it illuminated almost the area they were in.
"Well I think the enemy knows were here" scoffed John.
"Well this attack wasn't going to be a surprise anyway" informed Hans.
"So what do we do now? Attack in the night?" asked Victor.
"No, we attack early dawn. Get as much sleep as you need, your going to need it tomorrow" informed Kessler as he walked inside the pod.
"Well Ill sleep later" began John as he stood up and walked around the place.
"Dunno about you lot but I'm going to sleep too" said Erwin as he sat down at the pod entrance and slept there.
As the night passed on the sleeping members of Wolfpack all slept peacefully. When the sun broke the horizon however, the members were already wide awake and prepared to head straight into battle.
"All right give one last check to your weapons before we land" said Kessler as the pod started taking off.
"Approaching battlefield, standby to launch" the pod said.
As soon as the pod said that, a loud explosion came from the exterior as loud gunfire could be heard followed by screams and explosions.
"Guess the Monitor is doing quite a good job" complemented Hans.
"Well if anything, if you wan't to exterminate a rebel or enemy, it will get the job done" replied Kessler.
"3,2,1 GO GO GO!" boomed the pod as the door slammed open and the squad filed out.
There was gunfire everywhere and the squad members took up their respective positions.
"MG nest up ahead!" yelled Hans as he tried to get a clear look on its position.
"Got it!" yelled Bobby as he pulled the trigger on his AR Marksman and killed the gunner.
"Move up! Kill everything that moves!" ordered Kessler as he dove for cover as a group of Minotaurs came around the corner. Kessler popped out from cover and fired at a nearby Minotaurs head and killed him instantly. He looked to his left to see John absorbing all the bullets as he unloaded his rockets into the Minotaurs.
"Where are the hostages at?" asked Hans as the squad moved up around the deserted streets.
"Their in the town square" replied Kessler.
"Where is that?" asked Victor.
"Next turning"
As the squad rounded the corner, they quickly dove into cover as a hail of bullets showered their position.
"Dammit! Attack pod, we need Guard Robots now!" ordered Kessler as the pod hovered above them. As the pod opened its hatches. It deployed the Guard Robots one by one. As the Robots were told to clear out the area around the corner they did as they were told and was met with heavy fire as they were being shot at from multiple directions. As the Robots activated their heavy laser cannons, they killed everything in sight as they blasted through walls and shields, after almost murdering everything in sight. Wolfpack squad came out of their cover and ran straight towards the town hall. Upon arrival, they found the hostages in the centre of the field and saw that their guards had been murdered by the earlier laser barrage. As the squad proceeded to untie the soldiers, they were interrupted by a Minotaur that was clad in Iron over his body. The only problem was that he was carrying a big gun.
"Eat lead calfs!" he roared as he fired his machine gun wildly. Kessler and the rest of his men dove for cover as the bullets rained upon them.
"Switch to heavy weaponry!" he shouted.
"Everyone fire your guns on my mark" he yelled.
As the Minotaur kept on firing his LMG at the cover fields his gun stopped firing when he heard a faint click.
"Now!" yelled Kessler as he and the remaining members popped out of their cover areas and began unloading all their weapons into the Minotaur. As Kessler fires his rockets at the beast the rest of his squad fired their rockets/shotguns/plasma bolts at the Minotaur who seemed to disappear before their eyes. After unloading their clips into the Minotaur they found out that his body was completely gone and they made a hole in the wall behind him.
"That was completely overkill" said Hans as he inspected the remains of the body.
"Well I figured it was the best way to dispose of such a highly armoured target"
"Who cares! It was fun" exclaimed Erwin.
"Lets meet up with the Monitor and finish off the rest of the stranglers, if there is any that is" ordered Kessler as he and the squad started moving out towards the Monitors position, which wasn't hard to spot.
Author's Note
Well this tool some imagination but in the end I still did it.
