Equipment and information

Section 9 is based out of the UN complex in New York City, they have three floors of the new ISB building, they also have a private garage and hangar. To the public and those not authorized, those floors are listed as storage and auxiliary space. Section 9 also has several safe houses in multiple nations, including the UK, France, Russia, Japan, Australia, Egypt, China, Israel, Denmark, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico.

Section 9’s main mode of transportation is the XV-60 Spirit tiltrotor aircraft. The aircraft features radar absorbing material that renders it invisible to radar, it also has an experimental thermo-optical camouflage system, that will render the aircraft completely invisible while hovering for approximately 22 minutes. It can carry 20 personnel or 8 people and 4 Tachikoma multiped AI tanks. It can travel from New York City to Paris on a single tank of fuel. For defense purposes, it contains 1 chin mounted GUA-19 Multi Barreled machine gun.

Section 9 also employs multiped AI tanks called Tachikomas, they have 4 independent legs and 2 arms. The legs contain wheels if speed or stealth is needed, but the main purpose of the legs is all terrain movement. The arms contain a 5.56X45mm NATO machinegun and three claws for physical manipulation of objects. They also contain several tow cable launchers, 2 on the back, 2 on each side and 2 on the front. Tachikoma’s also feature a main body hardpoint for a GUA-19 or 30mm Auto cannon. The Tachikoma also has three ‘heads’ each have three cameras that can access thermal or magnetic view modes. On the back of each Tachikoma is a pod where a user can either ride in or control it directly. The Tachikoma features a learning AI, so they may seem to be overly curious about things, but programing dictates that they follow orders. Their AI may also seem to behave like that of a small child, no reason or complaint has been made concerning this.

To fill in the role of support staff Section 9 has several types of advanced gynoids that preform given tasks, such the Operators who preform research and cyber warfare tasks, they have individual AI but can link up as a parallel processor network. Next is the Overseers who preform the maintenance for most of Section 9's equipment including the Tachikomas. Lastly is the Protectors who provide the security to the floors Section 9 houses and the Garage and Hangar. No one knows why gynoids are used instead of androids or bioroids. It is expected that they are mostly eye candy for the chief but no one has the gal to call him out on it.

Section 9 has access to Thermo-Optical Camouflage, which render the user completely invisible to the naked eye and thermal imaging. Few problems have been noted the most common is a faint shimmer given off if the wearer moves to fast.

Section 9 operatives can be issued Multivision goggles that allow for Thermal optics, Night Vision and Magnetics.

Section 9 can deploy heavy weapons to a situation if needed. They include the, Denel NTW-20 in 20x110mm, the M90 Anti-armor weapon system, M134 with chainsaw grip, Semtex explosive charges, and several MQ-3 Scryer Drones equipped with AGM-114 Hellfire missiles.
