Assassinverse: Inferno

by Joker the Hedgehog
Eight years after Twilight's death and his disappearance, Spike Sparkle returns to Equestria with one intent in his mind: exacting vengeance upon the Traditionalists who had taken his mother from him forever. Every. Last. One.

Main Theme: Get Out Alive by Three Days Grace
Spike Sparkle had everything a young drake could ever want. Friends who supported him. A roof over his head. Good food to eat. And most importantly, his adoptive mother, Princess Twilight Sparkle, who had been there ever since he'd hatched out of his egg. Who cared for him when he was sick, who had clothed and bathed him until he was old enough to do it for himself, who had helped him keep his all-consuming dragon greed in check, and generally gave a damn about him when his own birth parents, to the best of his knowledge, apparently didn't. What more could he want?

Then, it happened. The worst day of his life. The day he heard the news that Princess Twilight Sparkle, his mother and the one constant in his life, had been assassinated by her own guards in her sleep.

Swearing vengeance on his mother's grave, Spike vanished no more than a month after Twilight's state funeral. Eight long years have passed since that day. Over those eight long years, the rift between the Traditionalists who'd wanted Twilight gone, and the Progressives who'd supported Twilight to her final breath had gotten worse. After eight long years, Spike returns to Equestria, having undergone training to make himself better and stronger so that he could fulfill his vow to his mother, and wipe out the Traditionalists who'd taken her from him.

Set in Rated Ponystar's Assassinverse. Contains, A Sparity-SpikeDash love triangle, implied Flashlight, Fluttercord, and one-sided TwiJack.
