Chapters Chapter 3 Crown Fields Battle
It had been 5 years of hard training for Aurora, Dogfight was pretty hard at first but with a great teacher and Commander to help it became easy, and when the Commander is Scootaloo, she is part of the Crusaders Pack, a group of Pegasus, Unicorns, and Earth pony regimes leaded by Commander Sweetie Bell, Commander Apple Bloom and Commander Scootaloo. She had learned sword fighting and hoof to hoof combat just in case she had injured her wings.
"Alright soldiers, the war had progressively gotten better for our Holy Empire." Cheers and shouts came from the rows of 3rd regime, Scootaloo raised a hoof and silence fell. "But we cannot falter, the Lunar Armies are being pushed back as we speck and soon, they we will reach there 2nd largest city, Crown City. But they need air support to take down enemy fire from above, that's were you come in, our best three flyers will be flying in the front. They are Zinc Wave, Sunny Days and Northern Lights, they will be leading in our teams and they will give the command to all of you as I am not able to fly." Scootaloo had lost her wings in battle when she was shot down with a new weapon called Seeker Arrows and now has mechanically wings and every month need a tune up.
At the break of dawn they set out, they headed east from the cloud base and headed for the the front lines, the soldiers were stopped in there tracks as a blockade surround the city, the Armed Carriages or Tanks were blasting magically shells at the front of the blockade, and the solders were either shooting each other or in hoof to hoof combat, suddenly on Aurora's radar that was place on her right eye started to get airborne readings, soon the Lunar Air Force was in sight.
"Ready your Automatic Arrow Blasters!" She commanded. These blasters were standered in the air force and were strapped to there sides with controls for the hooves. When they were in range she fired and the others followed suit, she swooped up and down taking fliers down one after another, she than looked behind her and saw a tail-er, she tried to shake'em by swooping up and down yet to no avail, then she made a guts-e move, she dove down straight towards the battle field were tanks were firing and solders were clashing and swooped as low as she could, she dodged shells, grenades and even arrow firer, her follower was struck by friendly fire and crashed into the ground taking out a a friendly tank. Aurora began to swoop up but a arrow struck her side and she fell to the ground in pain, her turrets fell off as a safety feature, she tumbled until she came to a stop, when she tried to get up the pain shot through her like a train.
"Well hello Solar Slave." the gruff voice came from behind her, she looked to see a unicorn with black armor of the Lunar Army with bow and arrow in his green magic.
"Get away Lunar DEMON!" She screamed as she felt hot liquid ooze from her wound.
"Fat chance-" he was struck by a club from behind and fell concussions, a earth pony warrior with gleaming white armor stood and a club in hoof.
"Are you alright?" she asked.
"Yeah, but I think we should address the arrow in my side." Aurora said. The earth pony lifted her onto her back and took off at a steady pace avoiding enemy contact at all costs. "What's your name warrior?" She asked.
"Its Earthquake." Earthquake answered.
After getting patched up Aurora and Earthquake were talking about there lives and training when Aurora heard shouting and ran to the source.
"LET ME GO!!!!" The same unicorn that tried to end her was being put onto a prisoner cart.
"Where are they going?" Aurora asked.
"To Prison camps for now, or at least that's what I heard." Earthquake said. "But I heard that your Squadron will be giving aerial support."
"Wait you heard from where?" She asked.
"Commander Apple Bloom told me, were good friends." She said with a smirk.
"Northern Lights! Go and prep your Squadron!" Commander Scootaloo shouted as she walked up beside the other two commanders.
"Yes Mama!" She shouted back and ran off to her squadron as best she could.
Northern Lights or Aurora awoke from her deep slumber from the rising sun, she felt it's warmth and loved it, she rose from her cloud bed and stretched her wings, her light blue coat shone in the sunlight, she went to her bathroom and pick up the comb and began to brush her purple hair, her hair was long and covered one eye with straight edges, her cutie mark had a black cloud with three lightning bolts with blue, purple and green. She grabbed her saddle-bag and headed outside her cloud home. She was in a city called Cloudon, she flew up and headed to the nearby capitol of the Holy Solar Empire, Phoenix Solar.
Today she was headed to a popular cafe that her friend would hang out and study for test, she was in the last grade and finals were coming out. She landed on the side walk and entered the cafe, she paid for her coffee and her friend waved her to the table.
"Hey Magnum!" Aurora said.
"Hello Aurora, how are you?" Magnum said as she levitated her coffee to take a drink.
"Good, but these exams are going to kill me!"
"Well that's why you have me, You have the athletic's and I have the smarts, its even my cutie mark." Magnum's cutie mark was a sun with star in the middle.
"So do you have a a copy of your notes?" Magnum smirked.
"You should start taking notes Aurora." As she levitated the notes from her bag and into Aurora's bag.
"You are the best Magnum Fire!" Aurora gave her a hug,
"I know, hey." Magnum said. "Have you heard the news?"
"What news?" She took a sip of her coffee
"The New Lunar Republic has declared war." Shock found Aurora.
"What, why?" She asked.
"Apparently because we attacked the Gryphon Nation without cause!"
"That's weird, the Griffons are a threat, they conquered our old Kingdom!" Aurora said. She was so confused, in the Old Kingdom Empress Celestia and her kingdom was taken over with the help of the tyrant Luna. It was there fault.
"So there calling for soldiers, and a lot of people are being drafted." Magnum said.
"The New Lunar Republic is backwards."

It was a week after the New Lunar Republic declared war and word had spread that the Lunar Forces had entered the Holy Empire and began to conquer land, troops were already beaning sent. But Aurora was having a bad day, she had gotten her tests back and she failed, and since that she would have to do the whole grade once more. Magnum had passed and graduated and had been accepted into the Unicorn School of the Gifted.
"Well, I am the greatest loser of all of the world." She said to herself. She walked over to the radio and turned it on.
"And in other news, the Empress Celestia address her people about the war raging in the north." A applause came on and the Empress spoke.
"My Holy subjects, the war in the north is nothing to worry about, our Forces are driving the Lunar Army back into there country and soon we well enter and take there land for there betrayal, the 100 years of peace was a golden time and the Lunar Republic has shattered the peace and they will pay!" The crowd cheered and it returned to the anchor.
"Hopeful this will be a swift war-" She turned off the radio and headed for the shower when a knock came from the door. She opened to see two Pegasus in suits.
"Miss Northern 'Aurora' Lights?" One said.
"Yes." She said.
"You have been drafted into the Solar Empire Air Force." The other said.
"Wait What?" She asked.
"Would you rather go back to school, or fight for your country and by the way there is only one choice." She saw no way out of this, but than again fighting for her country was the greatest thing she could do. "You have two days to get to these coordinates." And they left.

Prologue: 100 years of Peace
Long ago before the War of the Black Sun, there was peace and it lasted for a 100 years, but your wondering how did the countries, the Solar Empire and the New Lunar Republic came to be and how the war started, well let me tell you. It all started in the year 0 A.C(After Collapse) on May 1st, the civilization known as the Pony Reign, collapsed. A great disaster fell upon them, War. There Armies were ill-prepared as the Griffons of the Nation of Gryphon attacked swiftly taking over the land and exiling the Three Rulers, Princess Celestia, Luna and Twilight Sparkle.
Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends went to new land and formed the New Equestrian Federation or the N.E.F, Princess Celestia and Luna remained together and created a new nation as well, the New Kingdom. Many survivors that could escape the new Gryphon Empire ran to these nations and after 10 years there population soared and there new army's grew. Then in 11 A.C the two nations banded together along with there Allie the Crystal Empire took back the land that was taken from them, it was known as the Revolution War that lasted for 4 years.
But when the Three Rulers came together again after all those years, they had changed, even the sisters that ruled together were fighting with each other, soon they decided that Equestria would never rise again and the three nations, the Solar Empire, the New Lunar Republic and the New Equestrian Federation were born. And so for a 100 years there would be peace between all nations, but the new Empress of the Solar Empire became darker, power had gone to her head and corrupted her. The dark magic's took over her, the same that created Nightmare Moon, Empress Celestia became Empress Solar Flare.
With in a 10 year span she tripled her economy and her army's, 115 A.C on May 1st she commanded the invasion of the weak nation of Gryphon Kingdom across the seas and so began the War of the Black Sun.
