Lilies in Spring

Now THIS is the life! Lily Valley thought as she took a long draw from the straw dipped in her glass of chocolate milk, picking it up from her bedroom nightstand. She carefully put it back down before returning her attention to the comic book which hung loosely over her left-front leg, lounging back against the pile of pillows on her bed.
Her damp, unstyled, golden mane hung loosely down her back, clashing with the dark pink fur, having been washed earlier that evening. Somehow, after a week of being badgered by customers and inconvenienced by the Winter Wrap Up — “I’m never sticking my head inside the nest of an animal ever again!” — she’d managed to get the whole house to herself for the night. Having lit all the kerosene lanterns early, including the one in her room, Lily was prepared to make the most of it.
Admittedly, it wasn’t as if Roseluck was ever around after dark. When she wasn’t showing off her perfectly sloping body and neck, or ‘accidently’ exposing herself to Lily while she happened to be staring, she was off entertaining a stallion she’d picked up in town. Lily cringed at the mental image of a stallion rutting the beautiful rose-marked mare with fanatical glee as she cried out for more...
“You’re not here Rose, now go away!” Lily snapped irritably to the empty room. Of all the ponies she’d met in Ponyville, the ‘rose pony’ was by far the most inconsiderate creature she’d ever encountered. She was loud, egotistical about her admittedly perfect looks, keen to bring up the topic of sex at a moment’s notice... and would never give Lily a moment’s peace to hide from the world, determined to drag her kicking and screaming out into it. For all Lily’s protests, Rose didn’t seem to understand the concept of going without another pony’s company. Was she distantly related to Pinkie Pie? Was she everywhere at once and being tucked in by a thousand different stallions right now? Lily dared not ask.
As serendipity would have it, Roseluck was the first pony in town she’d met, and Lily owed her current job and place of residence to her. And Equestria be damned to a thousand years of darkness before she ever let Lily live it down. While Lily would stay indoors after a hard day’s work of planting, potting, repotting, composting, hauling, and arranging flowers for her finicky customers, Roseluck would try to lure her away from her safe haven with its four solid bunny-proof walls and cold drinks to go chasing after stallions. Stallions! Big, bulky, squared-off ugly stallions with their weird facial hair and long pointy ears! Complete geometric disasters, the lot of them! Lily would catch herself thinking at times. And don’t even get me started on their anatomy...
Either due to thoughts of Roseluck or the heat of the room, Lily mopped her brow with her hoof. It sure had gotten warm in Ponyville quickly this year, she mused. Standing up, she turned around to face the window behind her bed. Just a week ago it was dark around this time, but Celestia having moved sunset forward by a full hour — a gift to the farmers of Equestria to allow for more time in the fields — she could still see the wan daylight filtering through a thick bank of gray clouds. Lily tried to imagine the teams of pegasi building the towering cumulonimbus structures, but as an earth pony she knew it would never fully make sense. Shifting one of her lily-filled flower pots to the side, she unlatched the window with her teeth, allowing the cooler air to flow into the room.
Lily moaned contentedly as the breeze cooled her wet body before returning to her comic. Sure glad I’m not wearing Mistress Marevelous’ outfit! Lily couldn’t help but imagine with a wry smile. Having worn clothes on occasion, she wasn’t entirely against the idea, but she had never wore anything more than a simple dress as a filly. The feeling of simple cotton was admittedly pleasant to the touch and might even cover up more… vulnerable places… so it wasn’t without its uses, she’d conceded. Though once she’d passed to the age of adulthood, she’d not bothered with it again. Clothes, after all, made one stand out; standing out made one a target. With the promise of wide-open spaces and cheap land available to north of Hoofington, Lily should have been able to find a safe place to hide from societal — and stallion — expectations...
Lily gave a startled gasp as a loud clap of thunder sounded outside the window and the wind picked up. Finally, the first storm of the season! Lily smiled and watched as the curtains above the lily shrine atop her bedstead extend out like a purple banner before being sucked back tightly against the screen. Unafraid of any possible consequences the pegasi-built storm might bring, she abandoned the Power Ponies comic and lay back against her pillow with her eyes closed as she listened to the gusting of the wind, her mind drifting back to another storm that had accompanied her initial arrival in Ponyville.
In her mind’s eye Lily could see her again for the first time, Roseluck looking out at her from the front lawn of Daisy’s Fleuronic Fantasies, the stranger along the road pulling a cart with all her earthly possessions packed into small wood crates and cloth sacks tied with rope. The red and pink-maned beauty’s eyes were as green as the fertile fields of the Saddle River Valley, waving at the newcomer to her town.
“Hey there, stranger!” Roseluck spoke, in a slightly country accent Lily had never heard before. She spoke with a clear but laid-back cadence so very different than the fast-paced one in the city that Lily had grown up hearing. “You are so lucky! You made it in just ahead of the storm, but it’s scheduled to start in fifteen minutes. We need to get you inside before you get soaked.”
To this day, Lily couldn’t believe the beautiful mare’s absolute trust in a complete stranger. It wasn’t a question about whether or not this mare would allow Lily into her home or not; she was in need of assistance and that was enough. Lily caught herself gazing into the strands of her two-tone mane blowing in the wind, at the point where the colors parted. “Um, hi!” Lily waved back at stunning sight before her. “I’m looking for the… inn,” she finished lamely, forgetting the word.
Roseluck shook her head skeptically. “No time for that; you’ll never make it. You really should have checked the weather schedule before heading out! You can put your stuff inside the greenhouse. I’m Roseluck, by the way. You just passing through?”
“Well I’m…” Feeling the first drops of rain begin to fall, Lily finally collected herself enough to take stock of the situation, finding herself heavily in the debit column. “Yeah, no. I mean… I’m from out of town and looking for a place to stay. I just moved out of my parent’s home and — AHHHH!”
The sound of a particularly close lightning strike caused the two mares to shriek, bolting for the greenhouse — Roseluck opening the door quickly before Lily could blast down the door with her cartful of possessions.
Still a bit nervous about the being in somepony else’s house but seeing no other option, Lily followed her alluring new companion inside. In a rather unusual but convenient design choice, the greenhouse backed right up to the side of the two story, ancient-looking thatched roof wooden house. As the two mares entered into the kitchen, greeted by the light from an old kerosene lamp, Lily felt as if she’d gone back in time a hundred years, noting the complete lack of magically generated light sources. The wood paneled walls of the short corridor hung with the occasional picture; Lily’s nose twitched at the faint smell of moldy hay and the sweet smell of the kerosene lamps that lit the hallway which Lily found oddly pleasant.
“Rose?” A voice called inside another room. Emerging from a side room off the living room, a large, earth pony mare with a curly green mane with matching tail and dark green eyes sized up the strange mare. “Well this is an unexpected twist, Rose. You don’t bring very many mares home!”
Lily couldn’t help but notice how they both clashed with her exotic purple coat, but had the good sense not to call it out. Now isn’t the time to put my hoof in my mouth! she mused, but couldn’t help but gawk nonetheless. Behind Daisy, she noticed a desk, the surface covered haphazardly with papers, a filing cabinet and several bags of compost. Wait… bringing mares home? Is Roseluck a …? Lily felt her face getting hot.
“Try never!” Roseluck tossed her mane back irritably. “Daisy, I found this poor gal outside about to get completely soaked by the storm!”
Daisy tsked lightly. “You, silly filly! You didn’t check the rain schedule? Or are you from out of tow—” Daisy froze mid thought and her eyes went wide. “My goodness, where are my manners? I’ll brew up some tea. You must be tired, dear. How far have you come from? I’ve certainly never seen you around before. ”
“I-I’m from Hoofington.” Lily replied, meekly, obscuring her face with her hoof slightly to cover up the spot of pink on her cheeks from Daisy’s earlier remark. “My name is Lily Valley; I just moved away and was hoping to stay at the inn until I can find a place to stay.”
This time it was Roseluck’s turn to gawk. “You just hoofed it all the way up here after moving out? Did you owe a Las Pegasus bookie ten-thousand bits or something?” The redhead gave Lily a shifty look.
Lily’s eyes went wide — Las Pegasus? Me? “N-no! I just really wanted to get out of there! Hoofington is hot and dry and dirty and…” Lily shivered as she imagined the ponies on the crowded streets bumping into her as she walked into town.
“We get the idea,” Daisy said gently, shooting Roseluck a warning look. “Well you can’t ask for a more relaxing place than Ponyville! Lots of room for us earth ponies to grow; Canterlot isn’t too far away either so we have a market for our wares… assuming you can handle pulling the weight of a fully-laden cart up a mountain.”
“We get the occasional disaster here too. Nothing serious though!” Roseluck added quickly, noting the look of alarm on Lily’s face. “Well, not usually serious…” Rose looked down, her ears bowed.
Daisy noticed her fair companion’s expression and jumped in quickly. “But it’s never been anything we couldn’t handle by either hiding or fainting! Or crying…”
“What Daisy means is…” Roseluck jumped in as if on cue, leaving Lily to wonder if they were being serious or it was some sort of running joke for the two mares to do. “Ponyville certainly has its faults and no share of property damage, but we pull through by depending on one another to make things right. We also know each other by name here and are way friendlier than those stuck-up ponies in the big cities! Er, no offense, Lily…”
“Not that we think of you that way, dear. A bit shy perhaps, but you’re more than welcome to stay the night for the storm.” Daisy smiled, throwing a hoof around the back of her roommate who both smiled warmly for the stranger.
Lily was silent. Outside, the rain was beginning to fall and the wind was beginning to beat against the side of the house. Her mind generated all manner of disasters ranging from floods and tornados to volcanic activity destroying them all instantly, but for the time being she was stuck — lest she be stricken with pneumonia. The horror! “I…” Lily’s eyes moved between the two mares. She felt a twinge of hope rise in her bosom as she saw the friendly look on Roseluck’s face, feeling the heat begin to rise in her nethers. “I mean, sure!” Lily kneeled in a sort of equine curtsy. “Thank you so much!”
“You’re welcome, Lily! I hope we become the best of friends. Now let’s get you some tea and a bite to eat.” Daisy disappeared behind the counter to fill her kettle, which she then placed on an old wood-burning stove. “In the meantime, why don’t you two get acquainted?”
Lily turned to face Roseluck who was, to her great surprise, and increasing arousal, looking at her flank. “Cool, lily flowers! Were you a florist too where you come from?”
Lily took a moment to switch mental gears. “Oh, my cutie mark? I got that when I was on a field trip. I got separated from my class when we were visiting Pleasant Valley, in the forest north of the city.” Lily glanced at the threadbare carpet, unable to meet her eye. “I encountered my first lily there…”
“That’s pretty neat! Sounds like you really enjoyed your first taste of nature.” Roseluck shifted her stance to better allow Lily to see her own flank. “Me personally,I got a taste for much wilder game of the four-legged variety!” Rose licked her lips salaciously. “I just do this gig to make the money. The rose cutie mark does help me fit in, no? But my real passion is getting tucked. Me, and a very lucky stallion — two beautiful specimens of ponykind, rutting like there’s no tomorrow. Now that’s my special talent!”
Lily’s face flushed as her barely-begun hopes were just as quickly dashed, her stomach beginning to churn.
“Oh! Heh… sorry ‘bout that. I don’t judge you if you’re that way,” Rose seemed to read both her discomfort and the source, batting at her forelock nervously. “Actually, Ponyville might be the greatest place in all of Equestria to be a filly-fooler. You know six out of seven ponies here are mares? I’ve never met a lonely one! We got so many mares they like to organize and have orgies. I’m talking piles of mares as far as the eye can see! Talk to Pinkie Pie about that one. She’s like the Roamane Empress Neighro when it comes to…”
Lily covered her face and ears as she gave off a high-pitched squealing sound.
‘Rose…” Daisy interjected, her tone dangerous, “You will kindly refrain from torturing our guest with your war stories!”
“Okay, okay, okay!” Roseluck looked down at the mare, who was still quivering slightly. “Celestia’s solar menopause!” Roseluck grumbled under her breath before resting a reassuring hoof on her back. “I’m very sorry Lily, I won’t bring up that sort of thing anymore if you don’t want to.”
Lily looked up at Roseluck’s repentant face and immediately felt a wave of self-loathing. “Oh Rose… I just can’t handle the idea of all those mares… doing that all at once. Maybe we can talk about what you do here?”
Rose turned and breathed a sigh of relief. “Yeah, that’s a good idea. Well… we set up a flower stand out on the road during business hours and sell the flowers we grow here at the house.” Rose gestured towards the front door. “It sounds easy, but we actually sell quite a lot of flowers and often need to resupply. One of us, usually Daisy, brings out more.”
Lily rubbed her chin with her hoof. “What is she doing the rest of the time?”
“Tending the flowers around the house or inside the greenhouse.” Roseluck gestured back the way they came inside. “That’s where we really make our bits. We keep the really expensive stuff in there. Flowers not native to Equestria; flowers that have magical properties; the really high-end stuff we need to keep growing year round. Sometimes Daisy even does scientific research on unidentified plants.”
Lily covered her mouth with her hoof. “Wow! I never imagined florists did anything like that!”
“Daisy is quite the expert on all things flora!” Roseluck said proudly. “Only a small number of florists are real expert botanists, so it’s really not that common. Daisy is something special!”
“You know it sister!” Daisy shouted, waving a spatula in the air before pulling the shrieking tea kettle off the fire.
The rest of the night went pleasantly enough. Lily ate well and enjoyed the company of her new friends who were kind enough to offer her a job the next day. Despite having been screamed at, Roseluck still seemed eager to talk to the shy mare. As Lily drifted off to sleep on the sofa that night, she thought of the lovely cream-coated mare’s face, her eyes, her round supple flanks… For the first time in years, she felt the urge overwhelm her; the need for the company of another mare causing her hoof to drift down towards her thighs.
Lily was brought back to the present with a start as she felt the gentle brush of a hoof up against the lips of her marehood, her own, too late to prevent the surge of electricity that ran down her four limbs upon reaching her sensitive button. “Oh, horseapples!” Lily cursed, jerking her hoof away.
So this is it, I’m in heat again. Taking solace from knowing that at least nopony else was around to witness her shame, she bowed to the inevitable. She’d tried to resist the urge before, and she’d failed as many times after a day or two. She wasn’t a normal mare; it had to be this way. Lily closed her eyes once more as her right forehoof found it’s way between her thighs once more. In her mind, Lily looked up to see Roseluck again, against the backdrop of the stormy gray skies. Her green eyes just as warm and inviting as they were that fateful day...
But Lily was no longer afraid.
“Hey there, stranger!” Roseluck spoke again, this time with a touch of heat in her voice — her eyes hooded. “You are so lucky! You made it in just ahead of the storm, but it’s scheduled to start in fifteen minutes. We need to get you inside before you get... soaked.”
Lily smiled coyly and casually shrugged off the harness she was using to pull her cart off of her back. “I can think of a far worse fate for the two of us than getting wet!” Closing the remaining distance the two drifted together until their muzzles nearly touched.
“Then maybe you can stay here for the night, stranger,” Roseluck replied huskily before bending down slightly to give her ear a gentle bite. “And we can both get what we want!” Opening their mouths slightly, the two mares joined tongues.
Back in bed, Lily ground her hoof into her aching marehood as her moans were only partially obscured by the howling of the breeze through the window and the occasional clap of thunder. Within her nethers she felt the fire grow, alongside the buildup of pressure as she brought herself closer to climax — the constant stimulation on her swollen, pink clit and the mere fantasy of kissing enough to bring her to the brink.
Sparing a thought for the comic still resting on the bed and soon to be soaked in Lily’s fragrance, she kicked it off onto the floor before finishing herself off. She threw her head back onto the pillow, her maresong drowning out the sound of the approaching storm, as jets of Lily’s nectar arced across the room, coating everything from her bed to halfway up the door. Lily watched the splatter on the door trickle down as she leaned back against her pillows to catch her breath.
Satisfied, if not for long given the lack of stallion seed to cool the fire, the pink mare basked in the afterglow. The very idea of performing such an act with other ponies in the house was unthinkable, perverted, disgusting. It was bad enough that she’d stolen that moment from a loving stallion, or so she’d once been told. But the release of the pressure in her nethers alone was worth the price for the lingering guilt, to say nothing of the stimulation which left her entire body feeling warm and satisfied as if she’d been full of hot chocolate on a bitter January day.
No sooner had her rapidly clearing mind prompted her towards the box buried in her closet beneath stacks of Equestrian comics and Neighponese manga, her comfortable warmth was replaced by fire which licked at her marehood without and within. She knew she could cool herself off quickly, assuming the damn thing still worked, but thought of how long it would be until she got the chance to be alone with herself for such an extended time. No, she was going to make herself enjoy this! Sore from having to use her hoof, Lily’s eyes drifted towards one of her bedposts; she demurred. I really don’t want to explain how I got that splinter to Nurse Redheart!
Frustrated by the lack of options, Lily stood up on all fours and looked at her pillow. That would feel good! She thought to herself smiling. That is, until she drew a blank as to how she could generate friction onto such a small pillow. “Ugh! Why couldn’t I have been born a unicorn?” Realizing at that moment why Roseluck kept two body length pillows on her bed, she smacked herself hard enough to hurt.
Adding another notation to the shopping list she carried around in her head of things she was too ashamed to ever buy, Lily’s eyes caught hold of her mane and tail brush. Seeing things for the first time, she gained a sudden appreciation for both the shape of the handle and the smooth, supple and splinter-proof material it was composed of. She took hold of it from the top of her dresser and brought it back to bed, leaned back like she would if she were using her hooves again. After figuring out how to hold the hairbrush from the wrong end by suctioning on to the reverse side of the brush’s head, she gave her throbbing clit a gentle flick. “Oh, yes! Roseluck, I’m back for more!” She whispered huskily as she slowly pressed the handle in deeper…
Her eyes held tightly closed, Lily’s mind drifted back to the earlier scene — the action resuming on the living room couch. Mounted atop her lover, their erect teats tickling each other through their fur, tongues still dueling until Lily withdrew. Conveniently, Daisy was absent from the proceedings in Lily’s altered history. “Rose… you haven’t offered me anything to drink, my love…”
Roseluck moaned contently, her mouth curved into a mischievous grin; the same grin she wore whenever she talked about sex or the stallions she’d slept with. “Celestia helps those who help themselves… dear Lily.” The rose-flanked mare gave her a lover a wink. “And I could use a little taste of something sweet, myself!”
Lily felt her overburdened flower drip onto the sofa. “Y-yes!” Carefully turning herself around so as not to stop on Rose, she lowered herself down until both mare’s muzzles were strategically placed for easy access to each other’s intimate places. Before Lily could even start, she felt Roseluck’s first lick searing through to her core. “Hah! Rose you cheat…”
“All’s fair… my little Lily.” Rose’s tongue parted her folds gently with another lick, striking her button with expert precision.
“Y-you’re on!” Lily squeaked, her legs nearly giving out immediately. Without much to go by in way in knowledge of technique, Lily simply copied Rose as best as she could, parting the beautiful mare’s slit with her tongue and experimentally licking the inner walls at random. As it was Lily’s fantasy, each lick produced a welcome moan of pleasure from her lover, who redoubled her efforts in return — driving her long, equine tongue into Lily as far as it would go.
Worn down by Roseluck’s flawless form and technique, as well as her the feeling of her supple hooves massaging the short hairs of her cutie mark, Lily’s vision erupted into a shower of sparks as she came hard. Seeing the impossible from where she stood, Lily watched as the nectar spilled out from both sides of Roseluck’s muzzle and onto her abdomen as she tried in vain to gulp down the flow of nectar. Cleaning her muzzle with a greedy lick, she pressed her lips against Lily’s marehood, kissing it. ‘I win!”
“You always win... Rose.” Lily gasped through the haze of orgasmic bliss, her face a mask of joy.
Lily’s attention was broken by the sound of rain pelting the side of the house. A cool, heavy breeze pumping into the room and cooling the sweat that covered her body. The brush handle had kept most of her recent orgasm from launching across the room, soaking her sheets through all the way to the mattress instead. Her nethers continued to burn, and while the brush handle had been better than a hoof, she still felt a small amount of soreness from the penetration. Is this what all ponies feel after a rutting? Lily wondered.
Wiping her hooves off onto her ruined sheets as best she could, Lily climbed down from the bed onto four wobbly hooves, cursing herself for not stacking off the comics first. Thankful they were at least wrapped in plastic to preserve their mint condition, she eventually reached the small wooden box at the bottom. Carefully opening the latch, she withdrew an eight-inch long steel stallionhood with a wooden base called a “cooler” — the very cheapest one Lily could buy. Happy to find she still had a saline tube handy, a sort of elongated plastic capsule containing a saline solution, she loaded it into the back and pressed a button on the back to crack it open. Saline was the best and cheapest solution to cooling off from a heat spell and largely responsible for maintaining the sanity of Equestria’s mares during their estrus cycles.
Suctioning the base onto the wall, Lily winced as she pressed the perpetually cold steel shaft into her as far as it could go, which to her was not nearly deep enough, releasing the saline charge into her depths. Shuddering as the tepid water did its trick, she withdrew herself slowly from cooler, kneeling to the floor. Feeling more in her right mind than she had in hours, the pink mare looked despondently at the state of her room and groaned, her ears drooped at the sight. “Guess I’d better start cleaning this up…”
After shutting the window to keep the now steady rain from coming in any more, Lily opened the door to room and stripped the bed, dragging the sheets to the laundry room downstairs.
