Rain poured down onto the cold ground below, creating puddles along the dirt roads of the small town Ponyville in the land of Equestria. The sky seem to split in half with lightning cracks, their glow brightening up the cold, restless night. The harsh wind blew, making the trees sway and leaves blow from their branches to who knows where.
Thunder boomed, echoing into a Pegasus's ear. Her gray coat and blond mane was drenched in rain water, tears becoming more droplets in the storm above her. She was the Ponyville graveyard, overlooking her daughter's grave. A bouquet of roses were placed not long ago, but now wilted and soggy. Shadows danced in the graveyard, memories of her daughter and husband coming from the back of her mind.
"Have a nice day at school Dinky!" she remembered saying to her daughter when it was the first day of school. That one was a keeper. "Thanks mom!" More and more memories flowed in and out of her mind. More tears began to weld in her eyes as she continued to hurt herself with all this pain of her two loved ones.
"Make a wish Dinky!" said the Doctor. This one hurt her. It was Dinky's 5th birthday. And this one had the Doctor, who regenerated close to the time when Dinky got sick. The next one was at the hospital, the day of Dinky's birth. Such a wonderful and, painful day. To her at least.
"Welcome...welcome to the world Dinky!" cooed the Doctor looking at his beautiful child. This last one, the most painful, was another time at the hospital, only without a happy ending.
Derpy stayed close to her child as she could see the hospital doctor trying the best they could to get Dinky to open her eyes again. Please be okay little muffin, please be okay she thought.
"Come on!" yelled the doctor. "Don't die on me!" Derpy was shocked when she heard that word which now echoed in the mind. "Die?!" she asked nervously, hoping it was just a metaphor or an exaggeration.
The doctor looked at the charts beside him, folded his glasses, and started into her eyes with a look of pure dread. "I'm sorry miss Doo, the child is dead." he said in a stone tone leaving the room so that Derpy and Dinky could have some privacy. Dead was the only word that Derpy was able to hear. Tears weld in eyes as she embraced her now dead daughter. "I've always loved you!""
"I've always loved you" was the many things she would always remember about Dinky and the Doctor. Always.
Slowly trudging her way back to house, small sighs escaped her mouth countless times while swallowing a few tears. But then, an idea, an awful idea suddenly popped into her mind. An idea that would change everything.
She would commit suicide.
It was a terrible thought, but it was the only way to stop this. To stop suffering and memories making her bawl every day of her life. Derpy galloped to her house with a half smile, something that seemed like she hadn't done in forever. She burst the door open to her mess of a house. Dust was everywhere, some paintings on the wall were either crooked or had fallen down. The air was slightly thin, making ponies wonder how she wasn't already living on the streets. Nevertheless, she rushed into the kitchen, searching for a knife.
Unfortunately,(not to her)there was a huge knife in the silverware drawer. The half smile that Derpy once had was now full, only more insanely with her odd like eyes that were now tiny. She slowly slid the knife across her hoof, it seem to be slightly burning as it cut. But the pain felt rather nice. She did this to all her hooves before going to the last part: Her heart.
She gulped taking a deep breath, knowing it would be the last one she ever took. More tears came down her eyes as she placed the knife in the position of coming at her heart. Closing her eyes, Derpy shot the knife into her heart, making her scream in pain, the only thing she could before slipping into a world of blackness.
(5 minutes later)
The sky was back to a normal day, though puddles still invaded the ground. Townsfolk were outside talking about what they heard what happened when they heard a pony scream from inside the broken down cottage.
"I hope everything's alright" some said.
"Let's hope so" some assured.
"Maybe she just realized how gross her house is!" Diamond Tiara snickered which earned her grounded for a month and Silver Spoon finally speaking up to that high horse.(Cheshire smile and I don't really like her)
The police and Mane 6 burst open the door looking for Derpy, hoping that she was okay and this was only a false alarm. "Miss Ditzy Doo?!" shouted the head police making his way into the living room. The ponies searched around the house constantly, until they could Fluttershy screaming and her starting to cry.
"Fluttershy?!" they all shouted when seeing the sobbing Pegasus pointing to a horror. Rainbow Dash held Fluttershy while looking at devastating sight. Derpy had tears flow down her eyes and blood everywhere. The knife was still plunged in her heart sent chills down everyponies spine. The police ponies took of their hats and placed them on their chests closing their eyes. Pinkie's hair deflated, Applejack put her hat over her head, Rarity could be heard slightly crying with Twilight comforting her. They all hung their heads looking like they lost a battle. A battle for their friend.
A few minutes had passed and the ponies were coming back. Twilight levitated the now dead Pegasus and put her on her back making her invisible so when the group walked out it wouldn't raise gasps and horror. Though they couldn't hide their feeling of sorrow. Even Rainbow Dash felt sad, even though she thought Derpy was a little stupid sometimes.
Walking out of the house, the police told everypony to go home and that it was a false alarm. "I'll..." Twilight trailed off "I'll start planning it" Twilight faltered out of the blue when all the ponies were gone(even the police). She was talking about the funeral.
"Fluttershy...can you do the flowers?" she asked. Fluttershy wiped away her tears and nodded.
"Rarity, can you do her death suite?"(I don't know what it's called) Rarity nodded.
Twilight did the same to the other three and a week later the funeral was in session.
Friends and family came, tears came out endlessly throughout the ceremony. Derpy's grave was placed next to her daughter's, a heart drawn in between the two, and a bouquet of roses were placed on Derpy's grave, one rose was placed on Dinky's, the last bouquet gone.
"We are gathered here today..." Twilight began. "To worship a Pegasus with a great heart, strong will, and an a beautiful imagination. And her name...is Ditzy Doo. Though easily distracted, and a little dumb, she was a friend to us all. Even if we didn't see it at first." And it was true. She was a friend to us all, even if we didn't see it at first.
