This doth be the story of how I met my untimely end.

Oh don't worry, it's actually a really fun story and the truth is, it's not even about me.

It starts with the sun.

A long time ago a single drop of sunlight fell from the heavens and from this, single drop of sun grew a magic, golden flower. It had the power to heal the sick and afflicted. However, there was a greedy, changling queen who hoarded it's powers and used it to keep herself and her hive fed for generations. And all she had to do, was sing a special song,

Flower, shimmer, shine,

Give me what is mine,

Satisfy my heart,

That I may play, my part.

My needs you must fulfill,

Till I'm truly full,

Satisfy my heart,

That I may play, my part.

Because of this, Queen Chrysallis's hive thrived. But the magic of the flower seeped out of the hive and a prosperous kingdom called Equestria formed on the scatterings of magic about. The kingdom was ruled by two wise alicorns called Prince Solar Flare and Princess Starry Skies, who governed the sun and moon. Solar Flare and Starry Skies were soon married and after a few years, Starry Skies became with foal. But along with the unborn foal came a mysterious sickness that even the wisest unicorn magicians couldn't cure. She was running out of time, and it's at this time ponies start looking for a miracle. Solar Flare had heard the tale of the magic flower his kingdom was built on and sent his guards out to search for it. They soon came upon Chrysallis's hive and found out her secret. They pleaded with her for the flower but she refused to sacrifice the flower to save the Princess's life. The Prince decided he could no longer wait for the Queen to change her mind and broke into the castle to steal the flower. He barely escaped with his life but the flower healed Starry Skies and two healthy fillies were born not long after. One with a snow white coat and golden mane, the other with navy blue coat and mane. The royal couple named their daughters Celestia and Luna, in hopes they would one day follow in their hoofsteps and raise the sun and the moon. In honor of their children, Solar Flare and Starry Skies sent two magical lights into the sky, one yellow, one blue, like a smaller sun and moon.

And for that one moment, everything was perfect.

Chrysallis broke into the castle, stole the filly and just like that... gone. The Prince and the Princess searched high and low but to no avail. For miles away, in a new hive, Chrysallis raised the filly as her own. She had the filly sing to her and found that her mane held the same magical properties as the original flower she had been gifted from. But the walls of the hive couldn't hide everything from the young filly.

Every year on her birthday, Solar Flare and Starry Skies sent out thousands of small suns, in hope that one day, the princess of the sun would return.

Princess Luna was raised to rule over the entirety of the kingdom, but the filly had no talent for the day. She could conjure stars, raise the moon, even enter dreams just like her mother, but her cutie mark and her talent had nothing to do with the sun. Even Solar Flare's personal instruction didn't help. There was a great need in the kingdom for the lost sun princess.

And this is where our story begins.
