Error In The System
Here have a protégé
Previous Chapter"Ok, let me get this straight, my little sister somehow has gained abilities like yours due to some mistake in reality? Oh, uh, call." Rarity asked as she moved her poker chips forward. After Silver Spoon had pulled out the deck of cards and offered to play poker, everyone other than Sweetie Belle who was currently sleeping, recovering from previous events involving a certain creature from Fallout, had sat down to play, with Error as the dealer.
"Y-Yep, that pretty-pretty much sums it-it-it up." Error answered as he placed the next card down. When everyone saw what it was Scootaloo slammed her head into the poker table.
"Fold..." She moaned as she slid her cards towards the centre.
"Ya need ta stop trying to psych us out Scoots, ya just end up loosing more chips that way, we ain't falling for yer bluffs." Applebloom pointed out as she bet a few chips.
"Anyway, I-I-I think its b-best if I take away-away her powers, makes t-things far less complicated. But, that's up-up-up-up to her." Error explained as he watched Silver Spoon think about her next move.
"All in!" She called out as she pushed her large stack of chips towards the centre.
"Ugh, fold..." Rarity muttered, the others following suit.
"S-Silver takes t-t-the pot." Error said while grinning. "I'm starting to-to really like-ike you k-kid."
Silver shrugged as she hopped up onto the table and pushed the now larger stack of chips towards her seat with her head. "It was a bluff, I had nothing that round."
Rarity face hoofed as she looked at her cards, realising she had a high chance of winning the round. "I need to plan my moves more carefully. Anyway, why are you leaving it up to her? She isn't exactly the most responsible filly in the world darling."
Error shrugged as he dealed the next hand. "Other than-than to s-s-spite you for that comment-ment about my clothes, I'm not-not-not gonna rob her of-of her magic ag-against her will-ill unless it's-it's causing her p-pain."
Rarity looked unsure. "I don't think it's a good idea to let her keep it though..."
"Well, it's n-not about what you think now-now is it? Your sister needs-eeds to experience so-some moments of independence, especially when-when it comes t-t-t-to decisions like this-is. She'll m-make the choice that-that is right for h-her." Error stated while leaning on the table and looking at her with a raised brow.
Rarity still remained unsure, on one hand she wanted to protect her sister, but on the other she didn't want to get in the way of her development. She felt a tiny hoof tapping her shoulder and looked to see Applebloom smiling at her. "Trust me, Sweetie Belle is more mature than ya think."
Rarity sighed and looked to Error. "If she chooses to keep the powers, will you teach her how to control them?"
Error lay back in his seat and shrugged. "W-Why not? Would be-be something to d-d-do."
Rarity nodded and looked to her cards. "Alright, let's continue."
Later that evening
Sweetie Belle slowly opened her eyes, her head feeling light and her body feeling heavy. She tiredly pulled herself up and yawned, holding a hoof to her horn which stung a little. "Ow...what happened to me?"
"You're awake! Oh thank heavens!" She heard her older sister exclaim as she entered the room and dashed over to bring her into a hug. "Are you ok? Are you hurt? Do you still remember your name? How many hooves am I holding up?!"
Before Rarity could continue her flurry of questions, two blue ropes gently wrapped around her muzzle, keeping her mouth closed. "Easy, d-don't overload her-her." Error spoke as he casually walked into the room with his hands in his pockets, his eyes on Sweetie Belle. "Hey t-there kiddo, I n-need to talk to-to for a second."
Error sat down on the edge of Sweeties bed, ignoring Rarity who was frantically trying to pull off the ropes and acting annoyed while trying to not show she was actually enjoying the feeling. He told her what had happened before she blacked out and explained what was happening with her body and what kind of situation she was in. He then gave her a choice. He could either take the powers from her body, which could be an extremely painful process given he couldn't just erase it from her code and would have to completely rewrite her existence while ripping the corruption out of her, or, she could keep the powers while he taught her how to use them.
He would prefer not to put a filly through the process of being erased and brought back into reality, bit he didn't really care what she chose.
Sweetie Belle asked for a few minutes to think by herself, she didn't want anyone influencing her decision. Error nodded and glitched himself and Rarity back down to the main room. As he was about to sit down and wait, Error was pulled down to eye level by Rarity who glared at him while pointing to the ropes around her snout. "Oh, r-r-right, forgot-got about that for a-a-a-a second."
With a snap of his fingers the ropes disappeared, and then the gates of hell opened up. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW RUDE IT IS TO JUST SHUT A MARES MOUTH WITH ROPE LIKE SHE SOME KIND OF LOWLIFE SLU-"
"A-And the ropes stay on." Error mumbled as the ropes reappeared, causing Raritys anger to rise as her eyes went bloodshot. She lunged at him only to land face first on the floor and slide right into an open cabinet which Error then closed. "That's e-enough of that-at-at."
"Error?" He heard Sweetie Belle call down, causing him to glitch back into her room.
"Made up-up your m-mind?"
Sweetie nodded and got out of her bed, walking up to him with determination in her eyes. "Teach me how to use whatever it is that you have."
Error couldn't help but smirk as he ruffled her mane, causing her to giggle. "A-Alright kiddo, I'll teach-teach ya." Sweetie smiled and gave him a tiny salute.
"I won't let you down."
