//-------------------------------------------------------// Forged Insanities -by Gypsybard- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// prolouge //-------------------------------------------------------// prolouge The world is built and destroyed by the concept of memories, but memories are not physical, so they are not necessary yet they are. My life is just a memory it's faded...charred...there are dark shadows covering how I ended up the way I am. I roam halls constantly trying to remember what happened, but everyone just gives this sympathetic smile, but those that don't, aren't exactly smiling because they're friendly. I sometimes sneak out at night to see the town without the awkward atmosphere and to see how they live when no ones watching. How I break out of a secure hospital with constant watch to make sure no one escapes is that I was born with an extent of magic or at least I think so. The way I escape is teleportation, but it has a very limited range, but some range allows me to escape most situations. Today was no different for me it went through until the night, then it was my time to start moving. I teleported to the outside of my room on the window which was on the second floor, I then jumped down and teleported on the ground safely and quietly at the last minute. I heard some footsteps walking over to me, so I do the very thing I've become accustomed to and teleported away behind him. "H-hello there...anyone here?" the guard says unsure of what to do since he probably heard me or saw movement in the darkness. "Goodbye." I answer back to him then teleport towards a nearby building as soon as he turns around just as soon as he catches a glimpse of me. I always liked doing that people losing their cool and over react I've always found funny. Despite that, I usually I don't let guards see me I'd just thought that if he knew I was there I may as well keep him awake with that. Interactions I normally keep to a minimum, but tonight I'm feeling pretty ballsy, so I'll make many short interactions and maybe one long interaction to maybe actually get a friend who doesn't outright pity me as the only reason to associate with me. I stroll behind some of the houses looking into the windows to see what was going on, but more than half of them were of course, asleep, but that wasn't stopping me from going around. I encounter a single house with the lights on and in it is a single child reading a book at 2:30 in the morning at this point I usually go back to the hospital, but since there was a house with their lights one I had to check. I just stared at him for awhile until I got bored and went back to the hospital. I certainly thought the kid was odd, but decided to not talk to him he seemed emotionless like he was on the verge of insanity. He may be someone to note and to check on if he does show signs of murder or being insane I'll have to step in directly since acting as a ghost won't help him. I awoke in the morning after dawn with a single guard looking at me not out of pity, but...curiosity? I just sat there staring at him as him to me. He walks across the white room with a single mounted wall TV by the window as he brings a notebook. "H-hello there...do you remember me?" he said nervously, and by the way he said it and the sound of his voice it was that guard I spooked last night. "Why hello there I'm not sure we've met before my name is Leonidas." I respond politely clearly showing I know more than I let on. "I think you do know me Leonidas...you're probably the first Leonidas I've ever met so I'll just call you Leo." he responds in kind as well as giving me a cliché nickname. "If you will interrogate me for information then lets keep recorders out of it." I respond with a simple smile trying to hide my worry. "Please don't see this as an interrogation and how did you figure out about the recorder?" he asks as he pulls out one of those recorder pens from a pocket inside his jacket. "The same way I can do what I do." I remark trying not to give anything away obviously. "Well okay then I'll just toss this to the other side of the room." he then threw it in a corner, but I caught it mid-flight and turned the recorder off. "Now we can 'talk' about the subject." I told him as I sat back down in my bed in this desolite room. "Okay, thank you, but first what are you?" he then took out a notebook. "Seriously now I'm questioning your sanity I'm human and always will be." I of course teleported beside him and grabbed the notebook out of his hand catching him off guard. "Okay then, next question...can I have my notebook back?" he said with a measly smile forming on his face. "No." I say sternly as I just give him a look that says something on the line of are you serious.right now. "Fine, then the next question is...what will you do with your gift and why?" he says while narrowing his eyes like this is some sort of crime drama. "I plan on...nothing, I have no reason to do illegal things I know the pain of lose, so inflicting that on others wouldn't help me in any way...in fact it would be hurting me. I don't want to be a hero because seriously just look at me I don't fit the part...besides teleporting is an ability for running away or being a ghost it's only useful for spying which is something I don't care for." I justify while holding his notebook while doodling something, but he looks serious like I'm writing something important. "That makes sense, but what will you do when you leave the hospital you can't live here forever you only have a month left before they have to throw into the streets?" he says, but what caught me off guard was the fact that he knew my birthday and my age...He's been researching me like I'm an animal! "I will be someone that creates art probably I'd go to impossible places and then draw art from that view point to sell, but that's boring to me so I'm thinking of something else at the moment." I conclude though I'm still unsure what to do. "How about we head to the cosplay convention next month you can be Ticci Toby and play all dramatic maybe som good will happen that'll change the way you think...we all need the small things to understand the others." he suggests getting a bit sentimental at the end, but honestly I don't care to much or at least I don't show it. "Ya...that sounds nice." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Why me?! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Why me?! It's finally the day of the convention, but despite all this I was nervous about meeting people and not the crowds. I was dressed up as Ticci Toby which he had similar origins as I did and his get up wasn't hard to pull off. I just needed a brown hoodie, blue jeans, and some goggles to complete the look, but of course I did grab some extra things so I could mimic the character better so I might win the cosplay competition. My hopes were dashed when I saw a couple of the contenders, so I decided I may try after buying a couple props like a hatchet since I wasn't able to get one before. With this in mind I stroll around the market taking quick glances at everything trying to limit my options, so it doesn't take too much time to find something. I limited myself to three stores, but one of them was more like a garage sale since he was just sitting on the side waiting for customers. I decided I'd pay the old guy some attention maybe after buying something more people will open up. "Hello there young one what have you come to see?" he asks in a low voice probably trying to mimic the character he's dressed as, but I don't recognize it...I really should play more games. "I'm curious to see if you have any hatchets that I could use as props for my cosplay." I told him while shifting my gaze from item to item. "Hmmm...I see, then here you go it'll be 50 dollars, but if you buy it then you get a second newer one for free!" he said while handing me an old rusty hatchet, then pulling out a brand new one with an orange handle exactly like the one Ticci Toby uses. "Deal!" I say with a smile, but I had the mask on so he couldn't see it. The odd thing about the mask was that it only covered the mouth unlike other ones. "Thank you for your purchase." he say, then he waves his hand dismissively after that I teleported away into another world, but he was with me. "What did you do?!" I exclaim as I got up off the ground. "What?! Your awake, but no one stays conscious when teleported to their new dimension!" he then dives towards me he then punched me in the gut before disappearing implanting me with some sort of object rather quickly it must've been what he was going to do before I shocked messed up his plan. I cut parts of it with the hachect, but the rest sneaked inside linking me with something I'm guessing he was trying something Now you're stuck with me, and you will be my proxy. a voice says in my head, but it wasn't that old man's voice it was new and much more menacing. "Now why would I want that, and what would happen if I denied I mean seriously what can you do yell at me?" I can rip your mind in two for I'm the man without a face, so you *WILL** obey.* the figure warned as he appeared behind me placing a hand on my shoulder before disappearing once more. "Well that clears up that mystery." I say as I begin my hike through the mountains. I realize now that if I wasn't awake when he sent me here I would've had no influence on my body, so once again my teleportation ability has saved me again. I run around with constant whispers and visions and with it I'm losing my memory, but I'm guessing it's because of the Slenderman. I keep running until I found myself in a run down town with a whole bunch of furries. I guess this must be some sort of special event wherever I was sent. I run on down with my hoodie up to cover my head with my mask and goggles on, so it seems that I'm going along with the event or don't come out as odd. Kill them until you find another *Proxy*** I hear in my head which I say firmly with a no until it subsided to some level I can bear. With a thought in mind I walk on over to one of the locals to ask where I am and if someone can help me with my problem. "Hello there...miss could you help me?" I ask trying to be polite which was quite difficult with the get-up she had, which was purple-ish skin along with a green beanie as a little hat though her hair was quite odd as well. "Hmm? Well you seem interesting for a pony...wait a sec...your not a pony!" she exclaims like it was taboo as she just stared at my face which was just a mini mask covering my mouth, goggles covering my eyes, along with a hoodie. "What do you mean?" I say calmly until the Slenderman starts screaming in my head once more. KILL HER NOW! I struggle to not make a move to try and kill her since that Slenderman is very determined to end her for some reason. "You are like me your not of the normal population. Here the norm is ponies, but that begs the question...what are you?" she explains as she follows suit with a question of her own...what the fuck do her parents teach her?! "I'm......human... I think, well I was never in the norm even among my own 'species' though how did you figure me out with me having all this to hide those features." "It's because you have a similar aura as I do...by the way since you probably won't ask my names Screwball." "Well it's nice to meet you though I'm going to question your parents chose of name." "Well my dad is the lord of Chaos Discord so what'd you expect something normal that makes sense...well tell you what here's a satin' I know 'What's fun in making sense' so now it's your turn what is your name?" she responds with another question which is starting to become her thing. "Well then miss my name is...my name is...it's um...I-I-I'm not sure...entirely." Why you do this to me slender?! I voice to him hoping that his connection works both ways. Because if you have all your memories then how will I use you as I wish. he responds in a calm tone like this is just another normal occurrence to him or it. "Hey...whatever you are why are you staring into space while making these facial gestures like." she then proceeded to try an mimic what she saw by furrowing her eyebrows then arcing them up giving what is probably puppy dog eyes until she falls on the ground laughing in hysterics. Your name is Toby. he/it tells me so I could answer the little anthro's question. "I just remembered part of my name it's......" "Why aren't you saying anything?" "For dramatic effect...anyways my name is Toby."
