Twilight Sparkle had been an average Unicorn mare, yes she was the Princess’ personal student and the Element of Magic but those weren’t the only things about her.

She was socially awkward, prone to minor freak-outs when she thought she was going to fail a test but who doesn't do that over something?

She had great friends and loved working as the Ponyville Librarian.

Then one day the mare vanished and when she returned she wasn’t the same mare. She was a soldier by every definition of the word, forged in the fires of combat.

It had shaped her, it had molded her, and most importantly of all, it had shattered her.

She now hides a dark secret one that save but a single person knows about. The trials she had faced shaped her into a being who, as she puts it “Loves both life and death.”

Others refer to it as being a psychopath and a sadistic soldier who takes pleasure in inflicting pain on others whether it be mental or physical it does not matter to the mare, she loved every second of watching others squirm.

The only thing keeping this rabid dog of a mare under control is her military training and the fact she answers to the Royal Sister’s themselves as her only superiors, they don’t know what she is which is why she is the head of the Equestrian Defense Force, an army she forged with her own hooves to protect her homeland from any and all threats both foreign and domestic and to keep herself under control by giving her something to do that she knows and loves.

It is a good life according to Commander Sparkle, one she enjoys greatly and she never really thinks about what ifs.

Such as What If she had never been taken away and drawn into a war that was not hers but became hers.

What if she had stayed home and never conducted the experiment that lead to the death of the peaceful Liberian and birth of a psychotic and sadistic soldier?

And what if fate decided to show the Commander what her life would have been?
How will the Commander react to how her life should have been?
And how will that life react to the soldier she has become?
And what will the Commander do when that alternate life is threatened by an evil from the past?

It's going to take all of the Commander's skill and the aide of the "Princess of Friendship" if she wants to survive this alien world and ever return to her homeland.

One thing is for sure, the Commander leads and interesting life for a simple unicorn mare.
