A Mother's Loveby DashieThePirateChaptersChapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 5Chapter 6Chapter 7EpiloguePrologueChapter 8Chapter 1Scootaloo popped some popcorn into her mouth as she watched the movie, psycho. She looked to her right, Sweetie Belle was hiding in her sleeping bag and Silver Spoon had her eyes shielded. To her left were Apple Bloom and Diamond Tiara, they seemed amused by the movie just as much as she was. She looked back at the screen just as the psycho pony was coming up to the shower with a knife. Sweetie Belle and Silver Spoon screamed during the rest of the movie, making it a burden to watch for the other ponies. Once the move was over they began playing board games. They started with monopoly, Sweetie Belle was the dog, Diamond Tiara was the hat, Apple Bloom was the thumbnail, Silver Spoon was the iron and Scootaloo was the battle ship. Sweetie Belle went first, she rolled a seven and landed on chance. "Go to Jain. Go directly to jail, don't pass go, dont collect two hundred dollars." She grumbled, "couldn't we have just played truth or dare?" "Nope." Apple Bloom rolled her dice and rolled a five, bringing her to reading railroad, "I'll take it!" It was now Scootaloo's turn but she didn't roll, "what's the point anyway, Apple Bloom or Diamond Tiara are gonna win anyway." "I'll go easy on you, I'll only buy board walk." Diamond smiled. "Fine." Scootaloo picked up the dice and rolled a two, she pulled a card from the community chest pile, "advance to go, collect two hundred dollars." "Yeah, collect my two hundred dollars." Sweetie Belle joked, everypony laughed, Scootaloo just stared at her game piece. "Something wrong Scootaloo?" Diamond Tiara asked. "No, I just don't really want to play anymore." Scootaloo replied. They put the game up without complaining cause they can tell she isn't in a good mood. They get into their sleeping bags and go to sleep. Scootaloo took the picture out of the drawer and looked at it. Scootaloo's dad was home Monday, she greeted him at the door, "Hi dad!" "Hey Scoot, wow was your sleepover?" He smiled as he walked inside. "It was great we watched psycho and plaid monopoly!" Scootaloo smiled, "it was really fun." Tornado walked over to the kitchen table and turned back to Scootaloo, "so school starts up again tomorrow you exited?" She'd actually forgot at the time but nodded anyway, "I need to ask you about something..." "Sure what is it?" A hint of confusion formed in his voice. "You know ohm, mom being gone and all I was thinking..." She began, "that you should get a new wife." He stood their frozen for a long moment. Scootaloo's face grew exited and hopeful, it was heartening. He gulped and looked at a picture on the wall. "Welll?" Scootaloo asked. "I don't know, I mean...Well...I can't just stomp my hooves and find you one, it'll take time that I don't have right now." He looked back at her once he was done. "Well I can help, how about Rainbow Dash for a start?" "Scootaloo, I really don't think..." "Come on dad!" She begged, "I need a mother!" "Scootaloo I-" "You don't care? Fine! It dosnt matter, I shouldn't have asked the stallion who is to busy in mourning for nine years to think about his daughter!" Scootaloo yelled. "Now, I didn't say I didn't care, it's just that I-" he was interrupted again. "Don't want to." Scootaloo finished for him, he stared at her for a long time, his expression worried and sad, soon turned to anger. "Scootaloo! Go straight up to your room this instant!" He pointed up stairs, she obayed his orders but did them hastily. Tornado looked at a picture of his wife, it was hanging up on the wall next to the door. He sighed, his wife would probably want him to find Scootaloo a new mom but his heart didn't. he couldn't bring it to agree with him. He looked upstairs wondering if he should say anything. She probably didn't want to talk. He went to the TV and flipped threw the channels looking for something good. Scootaloo went to the drawer and took out the picture of her mom. She walked to the bedroom door and locked it, and then sitting back on her bed she looked out the window across the room and then back to the picture. Scootaloo woke up in a forest, she heard a sound behind her and bolted in the other direction. She looked behind herself and saw noting, but the trees and ground held marking of a much larger animal then she was. Looking forward she smacked into a tree. She slowly stud up and turned around. Blood dripping from her nose. She looked up and saw princess Luna put a forsh field around then both, saving her from the monster. "It's this some kind of life lesson?" Scootaloo asked. "No...I just wanted to distract you, and a parody to Preditor seemed like the best solution." Luna shrugged and landed to the ground. Suddenly they where in a white room, "so, you and your dad had an argument right?" "Yeah..." Scootaloo looked at the ground and kicked it, "my dad won't try and get another wife." "Most single parents don't get another spouse ever, you know Dinkie Hooves in your class right?" Luna asked. "Yeah, her dad left them last year." Scootaloo nodded. "Well her mom isn't tying to find a new spouse. Dinkie seems to not really mind." Luna smiled kindly. "Isn't there some kind of difference?" Scootaloo asked though she knew the awnser was no. Luna shook her head, "You should try talking with her, she may be able to help a lot." "Fine..." Scootaloo watched as Luna vanished, and she began to wake up. "Scootaloo?" Tornado knocked at the door. Scootaloo got up and unlocked it, "yeah?" "Sorry for yelling, it's just hard for me." Tornado looked down. "It's hard for me to dad, I never knew her." "I know." He hugged her, "but let me pick a mare at my own pace." "Sure thing dad." Scootaloo pulled away from the hug and prepared herself for school. Author's Note Thanks for reading the first chapter! Beta reading...I'll add those when I get them. Chapter 2Scootaloo watched as her dad sat down to read the news paper. She waved goodbye to her dad and walked outside. A cool breeze hit her causing her main to get tangled. She walked down the path to school. Once she got there she leaned her back pack agents the wall and went to her seat. Miss Cheerliee walked behind her desk and smiled to her students, "good morning class. I hope your ready to see your grades for last weeks pop quiz!" The students all paled as Cheerliee asked Twist to pass out the papers. Scootaloo knew she hadn't studied so she would probably fail. She groaned when Twist gave her the paper, she got a C. Cheerleader then began a math lesson, Scootaloo couldn't think straight, her mind drifted to thoughts of what her mom was like. She rested her head on the desk and closed her eyes slowly. She dreamed that her mom was picking her up from school with a smile on her face, "Hey sweetie, did you have a good time?" "Yeah." She jumped around a bit, "but I don't get it?" "Don't get what?" Belle Vie asked. "Your supposed to be dead." "Well as you can tell, I'm very much alive Scootaloo." She replied, a hint of worry in her voice. "You mean I was dreaming it?" Scootaloo hoped this was true. "Scootaloo..." her mother replied. She felt the ground shake and she was immediately teleported back to her seat in class. She looked up to see Cheerliee towering over her. Scootaloo blinked a few times. "Scootaloo, where you a sleep the whole time?" Cheerliee asked. "I think so." She looked around to see that everypony else was gone, "huh?" "It's time for recess Scootaloo." Cheerliee walked away. Scootaloo got up and went outside. The fresh air brought a pleasant strawberry smell to her nose. She walked to the school playground and waved to her friends. They seemed to be talking with Dinkie hooves. The purple unicorn filly smiled. "Hi Scootaloo." "Hi Dinkie." Scootaloo nodded, "how are you doing?" "I'm good, how are you?" Dinkie smiled. "Meh." Scootaloo looked at the ground for a brief moment, "I'm fine I guess." "Well you girls can come over to my house tomorrow or something." Dinkie shrugged. "Sounds awesome!" Sweetie Belle smiled, everypony else agreed. "Yeah why not..." Scootaloo looked away. Dinkie seemed to notice the sorrow in Scootaloo's voice, "something wrong?" Scootaloo gulped, "no it's just that, my dad doesn't want to find a new wife he's been sad that my mom died. But that was like nine years ago!" "Oh, my dad left us last year." Dinkie shrugged, "but I think it was for the best he wasn't the best dad..." "What do you mean?" Silver Spoon asked. Dinkie shrugged and began to kick the dirt. They all stood in silence untill the bell rang, "Well we better get back to class." Scootaloo said as she began to walk back to the school building. This would be a long day. Once back in class Scootaloo found it even harder to pay attention. She didn't fall asleep this time but stared off into the distance as Chearliee talked. She looked out the window as ponies passed by going to their jobs or just hanging out. She saw a mother and a small colt walk out of sugar cube corners. The colt seemed about four and quickly gobbled up an ice cream cone, his mom seemed to be taking her time with the diary treat. The colt noticed her and waved vigorously, but he didn't seem to be able to stand on three hooves so he stumbled. She looked at the blackboard and sighed. She rubbed her hoof across the wooden desk. The bell rang and she jolted. "Scootaloo would you mind staying after class?" Cheerilee asked. Scootaloo nodded as everypony else got up and walked out, her friends waved good bye before leaving. She waved back, Cheerilee motioned for her to come to the desk. She did as she was told. "Is something wrong Scootaloo?" "My dad just dosnt want to find a wife." Scootaloo looked at the ground. Cheerilee nodded, she had no experience with this kind of problem but she wished she did, "have you tried talking with him?" "Yes, but he's either to busy or to big a baby to care!" Scootaloo replied. "Now Scootaloo, don't call your parents names." Cheerilee smiled. "But what's that point? It's true!" "That's not important, what's important is that you and your dad are happy." "I don't care, and its non of your business." Scootaloo grumbled. "It becomes my business when you don't focus in class." Cheerilee replied sternly, "just try talking with him again and maybe if your more respectful everything will work out." Scootaloo shrugged at walked out the door. Cheerilee watched, she hoped her advise was good enough. Scootaloo let the door slam. Back home Scootaloo opened the door to the house and stepped inside the kitchen. Her dad was setting the table for dinner, he smiled and waved at her. She shrugged and sat down. "Something wrong Scoot?" Tornado asked. "No, I've just been thinking about mom." She looked at the empty plate in front of her as Tornado put some macaroni and cheese on it. "I thought we talked about this yesterday." He put some food on his plate as well and sat down. "Well, yeah but it's just so hard dad." She picked up a fork and messed with her food. "I know." He did the same with his food as she was doing. "Can't you try?" Scootaloo looked up at him with hope. "Scootaloo I don't want to talk about this again." He shook his head. "Yeah fine..." She folded her arms and made a pout face. He threw is hooves onto the table, "Scootaloo!" "Ya know what dad, just stop I don't care anymore." She grumbled, "you don't want to, and that's fine." "Now Scootaloo..." He began. "No! Dad, this won't work! I need you to find me a new mother!" She yelled. "Go to your room again Scootaloo." He pointed up stairs. "Fine!" She jumped out of her chair and ran to her room. Tornado watched her leave, she didn't just look like her mother, but she acted like her to. He sighed, he shouldn't have been so hard on her, but she was asking for it. He stood up and looked at his plate of food, if she wasn't going to eat he wouldn't either, he began to put up the food when an idea popped into his head, grabbeing Scootaloo's plate he walked upstairs. Scootaloo banged her head agents the wall, her dad just didn't understand. She looked at the nightstand, and opened the top drawer, taking out the picture of her mom she held it close in a hug. She grabbed her backpack and after putting the picture inside, she opened her window and flew outside. She wasn't the best flyer but she descended almost perfectly. She looked around, no pony noticed her, as if they cared. She went to the back of the house and climbed on her scooter. She put on her helmet and strapped on her backpack. She kicked the dirt for a while before zooming away on her scooter. She whipped a tear from her eye gently. The scooter hit a bump in the road but didn't faze her. The picture fell out of the backpack, but she didn't notice. Author's Note If I could thank everypony who added this to faves we'd be here a while...Thank you guys this really means a lot to me. I'm not the best writer in the world, but I try. Thank you for reading this chapter I hope it satisfies your need for this story. Yes I'm shipping rumbloo in this, thinking the story over its not romantic enough between Rainbow Dash and Tornado so I thought I'd rumbloo for a bit. Really no big deal. And as for Dinkie's dad...he beat them, mostly he beat Derpy when Dinkie wasn't around, that's why they're not upset with him leaving, all will be explained soon. If no one has noticed by no...the picture of Scootaloo's mom holds a lot of importance to the story. And the characters each give the story a new meaning, Tornado is the one who mourns for his loved ones and dosnt want to let go of their memory, he thinks if he gets somepony to replace them he will just be forgetting them. Scootaloo wants so badly to find somepony to fill in for what she never had, a mother's love. She wants to mourn but she can't, she never knew her mother so what would she want to mourn about? She can't miss somepony she never knew, no one can. She wants, no needs a mother to give her love, hope, joy, and care. And that's all this story really is about, it's amazing how many people have fallen in love with it, seem a like every time a add I chapter I get a load of faves on the story and some new followers it's amazing and I'm glad so many ponies love this story, as for anyone who dislikes it in the future, I hope I can write better to give you a chance to love this story and all my upcoming ones, I'd love to hear from you if you have advise for the story. Chapter 3Tornado knocked rapidly on Scootaloo's bedroom door, it opened slowly and made an annoying sound. He peaked inside, his daughter was nowhere to be seen. He stepped inside the room and noticed the window was open, he ran to it and looked outside. No pony was around, it was night time. He ran out of the room and looked all around the house for her, she wasn't anywhere. Once he was outside he began to worry. She was just a filly, it was dangerous outside alone at night! He tried to think of where she could have gone. A friend's house, maybe. He went back inside to call her friends and see if she was with one of them. He stopped in his tracks as the phone rang. He raced to it in a flash and picked up the receiver, he said hello. Rainbow Dash's voice meet his on the other end. "Tornado, is Scootaloo missing?" She asked. "Ohm...why do you ask?" He gulped. "Well I was taking a night flight and I think I saw her riding on her scooter, leaving your house." Rainbow Dash replied. "Which way did she go?" He grew worried. "Towards the Everfree forest." Rainbow Dash gulped. "We got to find her!" Tornado hung up the phone and ran out into the night. Once at the forest's entrance he gulped. Rainbow Dash flew over to him and landed on the ground, "Can I come along and help?" She asked. "It's the Everfree forest...it's dangerous." Tornado replied, something told him if she or Scootaloo got hurt, he wouldn't be able to live with himself. "Dude, I've been in that forest more then you have." She groaned, her magenta eyes stared at him angrily. "Well yeah but..." Tornado looked down. Rainbow Dash groaned again, "come on, let's go!" She flew into the forest like a bolt of lightning, leaving him in the dust. Tornado eventually caught up to her, it was easy to do so cause she stopped to look at something on the ground. He landed next to the cyan pegasus, she picked up a small picture and began to examine it. Tornado leader over her shoulder. "That's a picture of Scootaloo and her mom, it went missing the day we finished unpacking when we moved to Ponyville!" Tornado gently took the picture from her, "I thought we'd left it at the old house or something." "Do you think Scootaloo dropped it?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Without a doubt." He he noticed the scooter tire tracks, "maybe she went this way!" Rainbow Dash nodded and the pair raced off in the detection the tracks lead. Rainbow Dash was the first to stop after a while, Tornado looked up at a large manticore stood in their way, it's back facing the two pegasi. Tornado peered off to the side and noticed a small orange filly near the beat's front paws. He blinked and was back in Fillydelthia, he was in him wife's how hospital room. Belle Vi was resting on the bed, baby Scootaloo snuggled up beside her, she still had cancer. She looked up at him and smiled, he wanted to hug her but he couldn't move. "Please promise you'll keep her safe." Tears filled her eyes. He nodded, she smiled and lifted Scootaloo up to him. He hugged his daughter gently. His wife closed her eyes slowly, her body went limp, cardiac monitor's screen formed a thin green line and began to make a load steady beep. Doctors and nurses pushed him out of the way, Scootaloo began to cry. One nurse gave him a sad frown and motioned for him to leave the room. Once outside Scootaloo begged to be let down, he hugged her a little tighter. Later the doctor met him in the waiting room and told him his wife was gone, he went home and sat Scootaloo in her crib, "well it looks like it's just you and me now." He was jolted back into the real world, "don't just stand there, we have to do something!" Rainbow Dash flew towards the monster without another word. Rainbow Dash flew to the beat's face, it growled at her and she kicked it in the nose. The manticore backed up a bit and swiped his paw at her, she dodged it. Tornado flew up to help her. The manticore grabbed her with it's tail, Rainbow Dash began to bite it. Tornado kicked the monster in the face just as Rainbow had done. Once Rainbow Dash flew away from the tail Tornado again kicked it. The manticore backed up again, it didn't want to give up. Rainbow Dash picked up Scootaloo, she flew away with Tornado following behind. The monticore chased after them, it roared and stepped on a thorn bush. The monster made a cry and limped back into the forest. Once back at the forest entrance Rainbow Dash layed Scootaloo on the ground gently. She looked over at Tornado worriedly. Scootaloo seemed to be drenched in blood, the young filly groaned. "We need to get her to a doctor quick!" Rainbow Dash picked her up again and looked down at Tornado. "Let me carry her." He reached out his hooves. "Fine." Rainbow Dash nodded. Once they reached the hospital, nurse Red Heart made them stay in the waiting room while the took care of Scootaloo. Tornado sat down and looked at he floor. Rainbow Dash did the same. "Do you think she'll be ok?" The Rainbow Dash asked. "I hope so." Tornado looked at the hall way of rooms with worry. Author's Note I'm so sorry this is really short...dislike it if you must. Life has been getting...a little upsetting so I haven't been able to think straight for this story. I'm also planning an audio drama, and two squeals. There isn't a lot to say for this chapter...again, sorry it's short. Chapter 4Scootaloo rubbed her eyes, and groaned. She brushed her hoof across the soft cloud like floor, here eyes shot open. She bolted up and looked around. She was surrounded by a beautiful forest, trees stretched up to the sky and lead to unknown places. The sky was dark but light still surrounded the small clearing she was in. Stars illuminated the sky with breathtaking beauty. A cool breeze whispered a wordless lulabuy to her. A peaceful smell brushed agents her nose. She sighed, suddenly a blinding light appeared out of the forest. It seemed to be floating a little bit above the ground, a pony stepped out of the light as Scootaloo backed up. This pony was to bright to look at, but her face was beautiful. She smiled at Scootaloo kindly. "Where am I...and who are you?" Scootaloo asked. "This is heaven, and I'm an angel." She replied, her voice was just as beautiful as the sounds in the wind. "I-I'm dead?" Scootaloo's eyes widened with fear. "Not entirely, you will return to earth soon." Came the reply. Scootaloo sighed, "how did I almost die?" "You were attacked by a manticore in the Everfree forest." Scootaloo cringed, she remembered it clearly now. She was riding threw the forest trying to forget everypony, she wanted to die. The monster had come up and growled at her, she didn't move and it attacked her. The last she could remember was seeing her dad and Rainbow Dash fly in and fight the manticore. "Did you want to die Scootaloo?" The angel asked. "Yes..." She looked at the ground "Why?" It was a simple question, why didn't it have a simple awnser? The angel waited patiently for a reply. "I-I don't think I have a good enough awnser." "Yes you do." The angel smiled sweetly, her voice was filed with love and joy. "I've been worried about not having a mom..." Scootaloo's voice drifted. "I understand." The angel nodded, "When I came here I was worried about my family having to live without me." "Really?" She sat up straighter. "Yes, you see, I had a baby to take care of, I was worried about her, how she would need me." The angel smiled sadly, "but I watched her grow up into a beautiful and kind pony." "How did you die?" Scootaloo asked. "I got very sick one day..." was the angel's reply. "My mom died of cancer..." Scootaloo looked down sadly, "did she want to say hi to me?" "Yes she did." The angel nodded, "but your not ready to go into heaven yet." "Then why are you here with me?" Scootaloo looked up and asked. "I'm your guardian angel." She smiled, suddenly the world burst into a bright light and Scootaloo slammed her eyes shut. She opened them and the light slowly grew dim. She heard a strange and steady beeping sound. Once her eyes had finally adjusted to the light she noticed she was in a white room. She was laying in a bed, it took her a while to figure out she was in the hospital. A nurse walked into the room, once she saw Scootaloo she smiled. "Good to see your finally awake." She walked over to a table and poured a glass of water, once it was full she handed it over to Scootaloo, who drank it weakly. "How did I get here?" She asked. "Tornado and Rainbow Dash brought you in, they said you were attacked by a manticore in the everfree forest!" The nurse seemed worried. "Are they still here?" Scootaloo asked. "They've been here almost five hours waiting for you to wake up, I'll get them." She walked away with a smile. Soon Rainbow Dash raced into the room, and Tornado walked inside. Scootaloo smiled weakly at them. Rainbow's face seemed angry. "Don't you ever do that again Scootaloo! You had me and Tornado worried sick!" Rainbow Dash yelled. "I-I'm sorry..." Scootaloo looked at the bed sheets as her vision began to blur from tears. "Sorry doesn't really help Scootaloo..." Tornado went to her bedside and gently pet her. "I just wish it would." She looked at him. Rainbow Dash just stood there at the foot of the bed, "we really were worried about you Scootaloo." "Cause it was both your fault." Scootaloo replied. "Our fault?" Tornado asked. "Yes..." She pointed at him, "you can't seem to care to let mom go..." then she pointed to Rainbow Dash, "and you don't want to help." Rainbow Dash snapped, she flew into the air, "do not! And repeat, do NOT force two ponies to fall in love! That's not how life works." Scootaloo flinched, fear grew in her expression. Rainbow Dash's burst of anger didn't last long, she landed slowly back to the floor. The cyan mare looked down, "sorry." "I'm sorry to." Tornado, who hadn't done anything really looked down also. "Me to..." Scootaloo closed her eyes and tears flooded out. "But please don't try and make ponies fall in love Scootaloo." Rainbow Dash smiled motherly "Yeah, it's just...we don't really like each other...." Tornado said. "You don't?" Scootaloo asked in shock, "you knew each other as kids?" Tornado nodded and looked at Rainbow Dash. "Yeah..." Rainbow Dash nodded and began to tell a story. Author's Note Thank you for reading this, you'll find out why they hate each other in the next chapter... I hope this one amuses you! I worked hard...hehe... Two upcoming sequels btw! A Mother's Pride and A Mother's Patience. They will be almost as good I hope! Chapter 5My parents divorced when I was ten. My mom moved to Fillydelthia and my dad stayed in Cloudsdale. I was staying with my mom for the summer and my first day there I meet Tornado and Belle Vie, their moms were friends with mine. Tornado was fourteen and she was thirteen. Tornado had this thing for getting into trouble very often and wanted me and Belle to help. His pranks usily involved one of our parents, I never really wanted to join because he wouldn't let me help to much. So he decided his meanest pranks would be on me. My mom was getting married to this rich guy who I really didn't like, she said my opinion did not count at all. Strangely, she put me in charge of guarding the wedding cake. Tornado came in to distract me with stupid jokes that did not make any sense, while Belle would hide the cake just for the day. "Hey Dashie, want to hear a joke?" Tornado grinned at me, his green eyes proved this would be a dumb joke. "Ohm...No." I repiled. "What doesn't notice anything?" "I don't know." I rolled my eyes. "You." He burst out laughing, I turned around and saw Belle Vie struggling to lift the cake. It slipped from her hooves and toppled over me. She tried to help me clean up but Tornado grabbed her and raced out of the room just as my mom came in. She blamed me for the cake and I had to clean it all up... "Rainbow Dash glared at Tornado, "...by myself." Tornado shrugged, "sorry?" "So you don't like him cause he got you in trouble over a cake?" Scootaloo asked. "That's not the point Scootaloo." Rainbow Dash grumbled. "Hey I think it's about time to go, your friends may want to come in." Tornado smiled, he then motioned for Rainbow Dash to fallow him. Once they left her friends rushed threw the door and all landed in a heap on the floor. Sweetie Belle laughed as she stood up, "hey Scootaloo!" "Hi guys." She smiled. "You had everypony in class worried!" Apple Bloom said. "I did?" She asked. "Yeah." Silver Spoon Sat on the floor, "Rumble was worried the most." "He was?" Scootaloo asked. "Yep, he could barely stand when we were told you got attacked by a manticore." Diamond Tiara nodded. "What was it like, coming face to face with a monster?" Dinkie asked. "It was really scary..." Scootaloo began to think about the manticore. "Guess what!" Sweetie Belle grinned. "What?" Scootaloo asked. "Dinkie's mom got a new boyfriend!" Apple Bloom pointed to the small purple unicorn. "His name is Time Turner." Dinkie smiled, "he's real nice." "Good." Scootaloo was happy for her, her voice didn't seem to express that though. "Are you still upset about your dad?" Sweetie Belle asked. "I guess." Scootaloo looked at the ceiling, she wished he would just try and get a girlfriend, even if Rainbow Dash didn't want to be that pony she was ok with any mare. She looked back at her friends, "do you think he'll find somepony?" They nodded all at once, Scootaloo smiled. Apple Bloom walked to the door and looked outside, "hey Rumble is down there!" Scootaloo sat up straighter. Apple Bloom walked back inside and laughed, Rumble wasn't coming. Scootaloo blushed as all her friends laughed playfully. She eventually began to laugh to, maybe she didn't need her dad to get a wife, maybe everything would be fine the way it was. "So do you have any broken bones?" Dinkie Hooves asked. "I think my wing might to broken a bit." She tried to move her left wing but couldn't. She looked at the small bandaid like thing wrapped around it. "I hope it's better soon!" Sweetie Belle sighed, the other four ponies nodded in agreement. "I'm sure I'll be fine!" Scootaloo smiled hopefully, "besides a broken wing isn't as bad as anything else. "Yeah I guess...you hardly use your wings anyway." Diamond Tiara joked, the laughter in her expression faded as Scootaloo's face became upset, "sorry" "It's fine." Scootaloo shrugged, "you have a point anyway." A knock sound on the door and Rumble walked in. He smiled at Scootaloo and then to her friends. The five fillies walked out of the room single file. "Hi Scootaloo." He walked to her bedside. "Oh, hi Rumble..." Scootaloo lost track of everything as she looked at Rumble's handsome face. "I'm sorry you got attacked by a manticore." Rumble said, she didn't really hear that though. "Huh?" She asked. "I said I'm sorry you got attacked by a manticore." He replied. "Oh...Yeah." She looked at the floor, "I'm sorry I got attacked to." "Is your wing broken?" He asked. She replied with a nod, "I'll probably never get to fly now." He pat her head gently, "yes you will." His smiled knocked her off guard and she laughed. "If you say so." She smiled back. Rumble leaned in to kiss her innocently on the nose, "Visiting hours are over!" A nurse said as she walked into the room. "Okay." Rumble walked out side with hesitation, "bye Scootaloo!" The nurse left as well. Scootaloo pulled the covers up and looked at the ceiling. She began to think of the Angel and what she'd said, did her mom feel the same way when she died? Scootaloo closed her eyes to go to sleep. Author's Note I'm a lot better at doing second person stories then I thought....Hmmm...weird. I'm glad you all didn't mind when I decided to write a comedy oneshot before writing this chapter! Thank you so much, my muse was getting tired of drama stories and needed something to laugh at. I originally going to make Scootaloo's leg be broken...but how do you dance with a broken leg? Remember they still have a school dance to get to! Chapter 6The sun shone threw the window, it's bright glow landed on Scootaloo's face. She grumbled and folded the pillow over her face. She peaked from behind the pillow and looked around the room. It took her a few seconds to remember she was at the hospital. She looked around slowly, her eyes fell upon a small calendar on hospital nightstand. It was Thursday, the day her cute-zeanaria was scheduled. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Tornado and all her friends walked in, "time for a cute-zesnaria of a life time!" Pinkie Pie jumped up and down. "Yeah." Scootaloo laughed happily Her friends piled gifts on top of her, Pinkie Pie grabbed a small stereo out of nowhere and played a party song. Everypony laughed and told jokes. Suddenly nurse Redheart came in. "You're disturbing all the other patients!" She yelled. Pinkie Pie shrugged, "sorry." Nurse Redheart left, but she soon returned because of the noise. She kicked everypony but Scootaloo out. Scootaloo laughed and shook her head. She hadn't opened the gifts yet, she started with a small one warped in pink paper. She read the card, "Dear Scootaloo, I'm sorry that I never talk about your mom. I hope you enjoy this gift, she would want you to have it." She opened the box quickly, inside was a small heart locket. It had a picture of her mom in it, the other side of the locket read, l'amour est beau. Love is Beautiful. Tears made their way up and stung her eyes. She gulped to stop them but she couldn't, she closed the locket and draped it around her neck. She whipped away her tears. Scootaloo got home after a while. She noticed Rainbow Dash and Tornado talking in the living room so she snuck upstairs. She couldn't help but try to listen to them. She could barely make out what they said. The TV was blaring and it drowned their voices. All she could make out was a few words. "I don't think..." Rainbow Dash began, that was all Scootaloo could make out. Scootaloo tried to listen to the whole conversation for about thirty minutes. Without having a clue what they had been talking about, she noticed they both stopped talking suddenly. She wanted to peak in but she was afraid they would notice her. She walked to her room quietly. Her backpack dragging behind her. Once in her room she dug threw her backpack to find the picture of her mom. She soon noticed a large hole, she must have dropped it when she ran away. She sighed sadly, she then looked at the locket. Scootaloo looked up to the wall and gasped. Where the picture of her first birthday was supposed to be hung another picture. It had her mother on it. Scootaloo was also on it. She jumped onto her bed to look at the picture. Had Rainbow Dash and Tornado found it, she wondered. She rubbed her hoof across it and smiled. She looked at the clock, it was eight o'clock, she went to the bathroom to get ready for bed. She heard a small squeak from the living room, she peaked in and saw Rainbow Dash and Tornado. Their noses touched slightly, Rainbow Dash pulled away and blushed. Tornado looked up and did the same. Scootaloo's eyes widened with excitement, she ran to the bathroom to brush her teeth. As she put toothpaste on the toothbrush she began to think about what happened. She wanted do believe it wasn't a dream, but what if it was? She didn't want it to be one, she thought she'd be ok without a mother but maybe she was wrong. She walked down stairs as Rainbow Dash left, she smiled at her dad. After she hugged him goodnight she went back to her room, she wouldn't mention he and Rainbow's kiss until later maybe. She crawled into bed and prepared to sleep. Her dad knocked on the door and she jumped out of bed to answer it. She smiled and let him into the room. He sat down on her bed. "Can we talk?" Tornado asked. Scootaloo nodded, "sure." Tornado looked at the wall, "Running away wasn't a good idea Scootaloo, your lucky you only had a broken wing. It could have been worse." "I'm sorry, I was just so upset." Scootaloo looked down, "am I grounded?" "No." He replied. Scootaloo was confused. "I'm not?" She asked. "No, you are. But I haven't had a chance to consider how many years you will be grounded." He joked but still ment it. "Oh...Years?" Scootaloo asked. "Well months really but yeah, it will be a while." He stood up. "Sorry..." Scootaloo looked at him then back to the floor. He was being so nice about this. "Now it's time for bed, did you have dinner before you got here?" He asked. "Yeah, I went to Sweetie Belle's and ate with her and Rarity." Scootaloo shrugged, "they had hayloaf so I wasn't gonna pass that up." Tornado laughed and messed with her hair. He walked out of the room and shut the door. Scootaloo sat down on her bed, her stomach growled. She hated lying but she just wanted to go to bed. The stars guarded the window and the moon peaked inside. Scootaloo sighed and closed her eyes. Tornado opened the door slightly and looked in at his daughter. He wanted her to be happy, maybe then he'd be at peace. He walked down the stairs and into the living room. He went outside and sat in the grass looking up to the sky. Belle Vie loved star gazing late at night, he smiled remembering how much she would point at the constellations. Author's Note I truly admire the French language, it's the most beautiful language ever. My idea of romance is literally, Paris. I just love it. If the sweetness in this chapter kills you, I'm sorry. Anyway, want to know what Rainbow Dash and Tornado were talking about? So would I. Use your imagination please, lol. Chapter 7Scootaloo yawned as she stretched, today seemed like it would be nice. She crawled out of bed and became tangled in the blankets. She struggled to escape, once she was free from the bed sheets she stood up and looked out the window. The sun peaked over Ponyville from behind a few clouds. Suddenly Rainbow Dash wispid past a cloud and broke it. Scootaloo waved at her, but the cyan pegasus didn't notice. Scootaloo walked away from the window and down stairs. In the kitchen her dad was making omelets. They smelled so good, he put some spices and cheese in them. She sat down and waited for the food to be done. "Morning dad." Scootaloo smiled. "Morning Scootaloo." He replied as he put the omelet on her plate. Scootaloo picked at the omelet to see what it's contents might consist of. She smiled as it was only a cheese omelets, she ate it happily. Finishing before her dad, Scootaloo jumped form her seat and put her plate in the sink. The phone rang and she raced to awnser it. "Hello, Scootaloo here." She said into the speaker. "Scoots, it's Apple Bloom. Sweetie Belle and everypony else want you to come to the park and play volleyball." Apple Bloom said. "Awesome!" Scootaloo put her hoof on the speaker, "dad can I go to the park with my friends?" He stared at her as if to remind her that she was groaned, "I guess..." Scootaloo squealed, "ok I'll see you girls in a bit!" Scootaloo hung up the phone and ran out of the house. Soon she was nearing the park, Scootaloo stood at the park's entrance and smiled. The warm sun hugged at her back as she walked inside. She ventured off to the volleyball net where her friends all waited for her. She ran up to them excitedly. "Now we have an even number of players." Silver Spoon laughed. "Who's side can I play on?" Scootaloo asked. "Me an Sweetie Belle's side." Apple Bloom replied. "This is going to be awesome!" Sweetie Belle jumped. "So how do you play volleyball anyway?" Silver Spoon asked. Dinkie looked at a piece of paper, "we need two teams of six ponies." "Darn it!" Apple Bloom stomped. "Tennis?" Sweetie Belle asked. "We don't have any Tennis balls or rackets." Scootaloo sat down in the grass. "Well...I could go and 'barrow' my dad's, maybe he won't mind..." Diamond Tiara smiled. "It's took hard a game, don't worry about it." Dinkie shrugged. Suddenly a sound rang out in the distance. However, this wasn't just any sound. This sound was that of every kids dream on a hot summer's day, this was the angelic melody of an ice cream truck. They ran to a place in the line, the number of ponies behind them seemed to grow larger. They watched a pale yellow unicorn with red and orange hair run towards some porta potties. Scootaloo looked up at the sky, she wondered if it could get any hotter outside, she hoped it wouldn't. "This is taking forever!" Sweetie Belle complained. "We've only been here for like...five minutes." Apple Bloom replied. "Yeah but it's super hot out here!" Silver Spoon nodded. They waited for a while, that same yellow unicorn from earlier seemed to be disturbing everypony in the line. Soon the pony inside the ice cream truck called out to the crowd that there was no more ice cream, "Can I tell you girls something?" Scootaloo asked as they walked away from the ice cream truck. "Sure, what is it?" Apple Bloom asked. "I think my dad and Rainbow Dash might actually like each other!" Scootaloo grinned. "That's awesome!" Silver Spoon smiled. "Maybe they will let us be flower fillies when they get married!" Sweetie Belle grinned jokingly. "Yeah maybe." Scootaloo shrugged. "Hey, let's get ice cream at Sugar Cube Corners." Dinkie smiled. Scootaloo shrugged, "I don't know, you girls go ahead I'll just go home and do something." "Why?" "Well I'm grounded, my dad said I could go because he thought it might be fun, he never said I could go and get ice cream." Scootaloo shrugged again and walked home, she waved good bye to her friends. They waved back and then ran to go to Sugar Cube Corners. Scootaloo opened the door of her house and stepped into the kitchen. Her dad wasn't at home, he'd left a note for her. She picked up and read aloud, "Scootaloo, I went out to get some things. I'll be back late probably. There is some left overs from last night in the fridge, you should heat them up for thirty seconds in the microwave." Scootaloo rolled her eyes, her dad worried to much. She walked to the fridge and took out a plate of casserole. She nuked it in the microwave for twenty minutes insted of thirty. Once it was done she sat down alone and ate. It wasn't really dinner time but, this would work for lunch to. When she was done she ran into the living room and turned on the TV. When it turned on, it started to play a history about the wonderbolts. She sat down on the couch and watched it. Soon Tornado was home, he said good bye to Rainbow Dash and walked inside his house. Scootaloo was sleeping on the couch, some documentary was just starting. He smiled and turned off the TV, he looked down at Scooloo. The orange filly was peacefully sleeping, he picked up a blanket and spread it out over her, before going up stairs to his room he kissed hee on the forehead. Scootaloo woke up and yawned, she tried to move her hooves but they were tied up by the blanket. She hastily untied herself and jumped off the couch. She ran into the kitchen, her dad was heating up some casserole for breakfast. "So what did you buy last night?" Scootaloo asked. "Huh?" Her dad looked at her confused, suddenly he nodded, "oh...Well, I realized we didn't really need anything." Scootaloo raised an eye brow, she'd been up all night waiting for him to get home. She sat down and looked at her food. Her dad put his in the microwave, Scootaloo didn't believe him. "Took you an awful long time to get home...I was up for like two hours..." Scootaloo shrugged. "Well I got to go now, see you later. I'm late." Tornado jumped up and ran outside. "But you have like ten minutes to get-" Scootaloo was interrupted by the door slam. She groaned and jumped gently from her seat. What was her dad hiding? Author's Note I hope you enjoy this..the story got 4 dislikes, maybe because I took forever to update? I mean...I've been updating every 1-4 days...this is almost be two weeks...most people write a chapter each week. idk... Anyway... I for one hate omelets. My dad makes them waaay to thick. It's just something about ALL that cooked yoke and no egg whites, I don't like scrambled eggs either. Hmmm.... As for the Part with the Ice Cream truck...remember that one shot I wanted to write because chapter 5 in this story wasn't coming along as nicely as I'd hoped? Yeah...that was a good story wasn't it? And that part last chapter with Dashie and Tornado, I just needed extra words XD let's just say they both were sitting down talking and stood up at the same time and came nose to nose, the reason they blushed was because of the previous conversation. I have just noticed I've been spelling Dinky wrong XD it's to late to fix it I'm sorry... Enjoy! EpilogueTwo full years had passed since Tornado and Rainbow Dash had started dating, and now the couple were engaged. Scootaloo was cleaning up her room and digging threw her closet to find any thing that might bring back some kind of memory. As she was digging, she came across an old shoe box and opened it up excitedly. Inside the small shoe box was an old teddy bear that Scootaloo recognized imeadintaly. Four year old Scootaloo hugged the small brown rag of a teddy bear to her chest lovingly. Why hadn’t she come up to this attic sooner? She sat the small bear back onto the group and continued to search for memories of the mother she never knew. Tornado peaked into the attic room and smiled at his daughter, “Find anything you’d like to keep?” Scootaloo shook her head as she shut the box. Tornado sat down beside her. She looked at him with large sad eyes, “Do you think mom would have been happy with me if she were still alive?” “I don’t think so.” He hugged the small orange pegasus with his wing, “I know so.” Scootaloo smiled and hugged him. Tornado looked down at the teddy bear that had been left out of the box. He picked it up, “This was a prize I won at the fair for your mom when I first met her.” “It is?” Scootaloo asked, looking at the torn bear. “Yeah, I went to one of the target games and won this.” He laughed, “I walked right up to her with my little wing-bear and asked her to go out with me.” Scootaloo laughed, “Can we keep him out of the box?” “Sure, would you like him?” Tornado sat the bear next to Scootaloo. She nodded and hugged the bear once more. “Does he have a name?” She asked, looking at her dad sweetly. “I don’t think your mom and I got around to that.” Tornado shrugged. “We can call him Scooter, because it has a lot in common with my name.” Scootaloo joked. Tornado smiled and hugged her once more, this time the teddy bear was also in the hug. Scootaloo stroked the teddy bear with her hoof. Tornado kissed her forehead. Scootaloo picked Scooter up out of the box and hugged him tightly to her chest, like she had done so many years ago, she sighed contentaly. She had put the small and very torn up bear in this box when she was eight, because she had dubbed herself to old for stuffed toys. She stood up and flew towards her bed, the bear clutched gently to her chest as she did so. She sat the bear on one of her pillows and pet his little brown head, the bear stared back with unblinking black marble eyes. Scootaloo flew down stairs as soon as she heard a knock at the front door, Rainbow Dash beat her to it. Inside stepped Tornado, he was home very early. He smiled and then shut the door, "Guess what I did today..." He said with a large grin. "I give up." Scootaloo replied and looked at Rainbow Dash who shrugged. "I quit my out of town jobs..." Tornado said, "I'm going to be helping out the construction crew here in town." "That means you'll be around a lot more!" Rainbow Dash smiled. "Do you think we should celebrate?" Scootaloo asked. "Sure, where do you think we should go?" Tornado replied to his daughter with a smile. "Sugar Cube Corners." Scootaloo replied, her eyes lite up with excitement. "That sounds like fun." Rainbow Dash nodded in agreement "Well I don't know. I was thinking that we could rent a movie and maybe get some popcorn." Tornado replied. He was somewhat tired because he'd just quit two good paying jobs. Both mare's stared at him sadly, he soon knew he was out numbered, "Ok...Fine, we'll go." He groaned. "Yay!" Scootaloo jumped up and down, and Rainbow Dash smiled. "Well I guess we should get ready." Rainbow Dash said as she walked to the guest room, which was her room for now. Soon the trio piled out the door and walked to the sweet shoppe, together. Their lives were perfect and full of love. A beautiful Angel with a magenta coat watched from heaven, she was Scootaloo's guardian Angel. She stood outside the gates of heaven and a single tear of joy escaped her, she smiled. Suddenly another Angel opened the gates, causing her to jolt. "Belle Vie please come back inside." The other Angel called with a kind smile. "Sure I guess." Belle Vie stood up and looked at the floor, "But, can I stay out here a little longer? I want to watch my daughter's happy smile." She looked up slowly and smiled. "You really love her don't you?" Her friend grinned as she leaned on the gate. "Yes..." Belle trailed off. "Well I don't see why not, but come back inside soon." The other Angel walked back inside and gently shut the gates. Belle Vie laughed happily as she began to listen to her daughter's voice, Scootaloo was talking to Tornado and Rainbow Dash about school and friends. She could listen inside heaven but it always seemed more fun outside the gates, she felt she could hear better. She loved hearing her daughter's beautiful voice. Belle Vie turned towards the gate and smiled, "I love you both so much." She said to her daughter and husband, though they couldn't hear her. She sighed with joy as she walked through the gates of heaven. The beauty of the place brange her at ease and she felt a pure happiness that would never end. Author's Note I'm so happy this is over...wait...No I'm not...I don't want it to end... Well I guess we can't get what we want, plus keeping the end from you guys would be rude. ~~Well as you may know I'm writing a sequel~~ ~~I know, exiting right?~~ Sequels are just a little to boring to write...I'm so sorry... PrologueBelle Vie held the small infant in her hooves as her husband took a picture. Scootaloo, a beautiful name, almost as beautiful as the foal she held. She looked up at her husband with tears in her grey-purple eyes, "it's not fair." Tornado looked at his wife, "I know dear." He looked at the camera and then smiled at her, his smiled turned to a sad frown, They starred at each other for a brief moment, Belle Via then snuggled her daughter closer. Her husband rubbed her bald head, something he didn't mind doing after she started her chemotherapy. She closed her eyes and a single tear fell, "why did I have to get cancer, I just want to take care of our baby!" He nodded sadly agreeing to the question, but these things happen honey, but you have to have faith, I'll keep her safe you know that." "But I want to be there for her to." Belle Vie put her nose to her daughter's nose. "Your going to get better Belle, I promise." Tornado smiled at his wife. "DON'T MAKE PROMISES YOU CAN'T KEEP!" Belle screamed, Scootaloo began to cry as she woke up, the Gray cherry pegasus kissed her Scootaloo's forehead and began to sing a lulabey, "hush now, quite now, lay your sleepy head..." her voice drifted threw the song as the filly's crying stopped and her eyes closed slowly, she made small snores. Tornado walked out of the room and into the kitchen, he didn't want to lose his wife, she was the most amazing thing he had. He looked at a picture on the counter, it was from their wedding day. He brushed his hoof over the image, over the purple main his wife would still have if cancer hadn't come along, he knew he couldn't let her go. -4 years later- Tornado opened the last of the boxes and took out a picture. This box was full if them, they where of his wife. He admired the image and then placed it back into the box, he shut it as soon as Scootaloo trotted into the room. "Daddy!" She sat next to him, "what ya doing?" "Unpacking Scoot." He smiled as he picked up the box and placed it on the table. "Oh..." She ran to where he was and climbed onto one if the counter stools, "can I help?" She smiled at him so brightly that he froze. She was only five and looked just like her mother, the only difference was the coat color and that was about it. He looked back at the box, "these are just some pictures, it won't take long." That was a lie, just because it was a few pictures didn't mean he'd do it fast, he would need to admire them for a while. "Are they of me?" Scootaloo enjoyed looking at baby pictures of herself. "No, they're of your mom, some are before you were born." He smiled. "Can I see?" She stretched her small hooves out to try and grab the large box. "No, you can look at them when they're on the walls." He picked some out of the box and sat then on a staircase step, he want back to the table and then took a small hammer and nails. Once he was gone again Scootaloo crawled onto the table and dug threw the box, she picked up a picture of her mother. She admired it, looking closely she saw herself as a baby, her mother was snuggling her as she slept. She never meet her mother, she died when Scootaloo was a year old. She tucked the picture under the table as her father returned. "I guess I'll play in my room now." Scootaloo ran upstairs hiding the picture, Tornado didn't seem to notice. She opened the door to her room and once she was inside, she shut the door and went to the center of the room. She walked slowly to a small nightstand next to her bed and put the picture in the top drawer. She then looked out the window, to the streets of Ponyville. They'd moved here from Fillydelthia, where her parents had grown up. She rested her hooves on the window seal and sighed up to the night sky. Her dad opened the door and smiled, "I found a picture you might like to have in here." She turned around and nodded, "what is it?" "A picture of your first birthday." That had been a week before her mother died, she nodded in acceptance of the picture. Tornado went to the wall near her bed and began to nail the picture in place. Once he was finished Scootaloo hopped onto the bed and looked at the item on the wall. Once her dad was gone she slipped into the covers and took the picture of her mom out of the nightstand, she gently tucked it under the pillow and drifted off to sleep. -5 years later, present day- "I'm going to work now Scootaloo, Rainbow Dash will be here in an hour to see what your up to, anything you need before I go?" Tornado asked. Scootaloo spooned some cereal into her mouth and shook her head. Her dad nodded and stood up, "well I'll see you Monday then." Scootaloo swallowed and smiled, "my friends are coming over for a sleepover." "I almost forgot about that, well one more rule before I go, don't have any boys over." It took her a while to see that he was joking but ment it. She nodded. Her dad opened the door and her friends ran past him, except Sweetie Belle, she just waited for him to walk out side. He waved bye and flew away. Scootaloo hopped off the stool and picked up her bowl. Diamond Tiara smiled and offered to clean it instead, "I really owe you girls a lot, you became friends with me and Silver Spoon no mater how mean we'd been to you." "No it's fine." Scootaloo nodded as she turned on the water, Diamond Tiara gave her a sad look. Scootaloo shrugged, if she wanted to then why waist the gesture, she stepped back from the sing and Diamond Tiara began to scrub the bowl. "We still have to decide when to have our cute-ceañera!" Sweetie Belle squeaked. "I was thinking next Tuesday, cause my dad will be home then!" Scootaloo smiled, "come on, let's go talk in my room." The five fillies ran upstairs in a race, Scootaloo got there first so she opened her bedroom door and stepped inside. Once everypony was inside Scootaloo ran to the nightstand and opened the top drawer, she took out the picture of her mom. "What's that?" Silver Spoon asked as she walked up to Scootaloo. "My mom." She hugged the picture close to her heart, "She died when I was a year old." "Ah was wondering about your mother..." Apple Bloom said, "ah lost both of my parents." "Yeah but you have big siblings and a grandmother to look after and hang out with you, it's sort of different." Scootaloo said, not looking at her friends as tears filled her eyes. "Hey maybe we could find your dad a new wife!" Sweetie Belle chimed in, "I have a certain pegasus in mind." The small unicorn filly gave an evil grin. Scootaloo looked away from the picture in her hooves to give Sweetie Belle a confused expression, "what do you mean Sweetie Belle?" The unicorn glared at her, "get your dad and Rainbow Dash together, it's the perfect plan!" She grinned, "I'm sure they love each other." "Not that bad an idea Sweetie Belle." Apple Bloom nodded. Scootaloo didn't move, her friends had a point. But she couldn't do that, her dad said he was happy by himself. She looked back down at the pictures, one of her mother holding her, before she died of cancer. "I don't think my dad's ready to make that kind of commitment." Scootaloo looked at her friends. "What's this have to do with a commitment?" Sweetie Belle asked. "It's just, even after nine years he still looks at her pictures, I mean if you haven't noticed they are everywhere "Well maybe we can he'll him!" Diamond Tiara smiled. "No, if he is going to get me a new mom he'll have to do it when he's ready." Scootaloo looked back at the picture. "Alright then." Sweetie Belle nodded, "well I got to go and get my sleeping bag and stuff ready for the sleepover." Her other friends seemed to agree and all began to leave, Diamond Tiara looked back, "I'm sure your dad will find somepony soon." Scootaloo sat there looking at the picture. She then looked at the door as it closed. She put the picture back in her drawer and looked out the window. -an hour later- "Hey Scootaloo." Rainbow walked into the living room, Scootaloo was on the flour watching TV. "Hi dash!" Scootaloo jumped up and paused the show, "what are you doing here?" " Don't I always check in on you when your dad's gone?" The cyan pegasus laughed. "Oh.. I forgot" Scootaloo replied. Rainbow Dash walked to the TV to see what Scootaloo was watching, "well you seem like your ok so I'll just get going." "Wait!" Scootaloo yelled as Rainbow Dash began walking towards the door, she turned around, "I need to ask you something..." Scootaloo gulped, she'd been thinking about what Sweetie Belle and Diamond Tiara had said for a whole hour and it seemed like a good idea to try out. "You know how my mom died when I was little right?" Scootaloo asked, reviving a nod from Rainbow, "well I think he should get a new wife, he's been lonely'" Scootaloo kicked at the ground, "so what if you dated him..." Rainbow Dash sat there in confusion, she finally shook her head, "no way squirt." "Why not?" Scootaloo asked. "Your dad can decide on somepony for himself." Rainbow Dash smiled, "it's sweet that your worried about him but he'll get a wife when he's ready." "But what if he wanted to date you?" "He's four years older then me Scootaloo." Rainbow Dash shook her head, "it wouldn't work." "Oh..." Scootaloo looked at the ground, "but what's wrong with a twenty-four year old and a twenty-nine year old being together?" "Nothing but that seems weird to me." Rainbow Dash shrugged, "besides...this is really awkward." "Yeah I guess but I just want a mom, you seem like the perfect candidate." Scootaloo looked at her, "please." "I'm sorry Scootaloo, I can't." Rainbow Dash got up to leave, "I'll see you tomorrow." "Ok." Scootaloo replied. Once Rainbow was gone she went to the phone and called Sweetie Belle. Rarity answered the phone, "Carousel Boutique, where ever ou-" "Yeah, yeah, can Sweetie Belle come to the phone, it's Scootaloo." Soon Sweetie Belle's voice filled the speaker, "hey Scootaloo!" "Hey Sweetie Belle, I talked to Rainbow Dash about your plan and she doesn't like the idea." Scootaloo said dryly. "Well duh, that must have been awkward!" Sweetie Belle replied, "just talk to your dad about it is all I ment, talk to him about Rainbow Dash and then ask your dad if he has any girlfriends." "Oh." Scootaloo nodded, "but he won't be back untill Monday." "Then wait till Monday." Her voice seemed annoyed. Scootaloo nodded again as she heard a click from the other end. She put the phone back on the receiver and walked upstairs to her room. Once inside she went and got the picture back from the drawer. Author's Note Just so you know, Belle Vie is French for Beautiful Life. I'm really exited with how this first chapter turned out. Tornado is my Oc, now before you click the dislike button I have to explain this to you. I got this idea last night (it's March 18th as I write this) It seemed like a great story to me so I'll try and write it out very well. Thank you for giving this story a shot, it means a lot to me! Chapter 8Scootaloo walked out of the school house and stood on the cement steps, her friends were waiting outside for her. She'd been picked to clean the chalk erasers and had just finished. She stepped onto the cool ground and waved to her friends. She ran to the flag pole were they waited. "Hi girls!" Scootaloo smiled. "Hi" Sweetie Belle jumped up and down. Apple Bloom, Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara all nodded. "Hey you girls wanna come over to my house?" Dinky asked, "My mom said it was ok." "Sounds fun." Apple Bloom nodded. "Awesome!" Dinky smiled, "it'll be just for a few hours until she gets back from work. I'm usily lonely when I get home." The small purple unicorn shrugged. "Well let's go then!" Scootaloo smiled, she didn't care that she was grounded, she wanted to hang lol it with her friends. Soon the six ponies were at the quaint house of Dinky Hooves and her mother. The smell of muffins was very strong. Scootaloo stepped onto the rug that lay in the middle of the room, she looked at the walls. Pictures of Dinky as a baby or with family filled her view. "This is a really nice house." Sweetie Belle squeaked as she stepped inside. "Yeah it is!" Apple Bloom agreed. "Thanks." Dinky smiled as Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara walked into the living room, "we can play a bored game or something." They walked into her room, "do you have Monopony?" Sweetie Belle asked. "Yeah, we also have..." Dinky pointed to a small stack of board games, "Game of Pony, SaddleShip and Chess." "All she'll play is Monopony." Apple Bloom joked. "Yeah!" Sweetie Belle agreed, "that's all I care about." "Ok then." Dinky nodded, she then walked over to the stack of games and pulled Monopony out. "We always play bored games!" Silver Spoon complained, "can't we do something else?" "Sure why no." Sweetie Belle shrugged, "how about we braid each other's hair?" "I'm super good at braiding!" Silver Spoon grinned. "Ok then, I'll get some cookies from the kitchen an we'll be all set, Scootaloo, can you help me? My mom baked a lot of cookies." Dinky smiled. "Sure." Scootaloo nodded and followed her, "first I got to call my dad and tell him where I am." "Ok then." Dinky replied. Scootaloo picked up the phone and called her dad. She was met with his voice mail, he was probably out or something. She sighed, "hey dad, it's Scootaloo. I'm at Dinky's house with my friends. I'm sure that's ok because your not home." She hung up and then reached to catch up with Dinky in the kitchen. "So were dose your mom keep the cookies?" Scootaloo asked. "There is a cookie jar on the counter over there next to the sugar and salt." Dinky pointed to the location of the jar. Scootaloo nodded and walked over to the cookie jar. She picked it up, "Where did your mom get this?" "My dad gave it to her..." Dinky trailed off, the melody in her voice faded away. "What's wrong? Did he die or something?" "No..." Dinky looked down, "He beat me and my mom after he started drinking." Scootaloo stared in shock at her new friend. How could anypony want to beat her? Scootaloo nodded in silence, "Ok, I understand if you don't want to talk about it." "Well it's good to talk about things, but maybe some other time." Dinky smiled as she and Scootaloo walked back to her room. Back in the room Sweetie Belle was crying as Diamond Tiara unotted her mane. Silver Spoon was trying to help, and Apple Bloom was laughing. Dinky stepped inside and Scootaloo sat the cookies down, "What happened here?" Scootaloo asked. "S-Silver Spoon should n-never braid hair." Sweetie Belle choked sadly. Scootaloo burst out laughing, soon everypony was laughing hard. After eating launch at Dinky's house, Scootaloo decided to go home. She turned the corner and looked up at the clouds, a few seemed heart shaped. She looked back ahead and continued her journey home. She soon reached the small two story house and knocked on the door. Rainbow Dash walked out, "Hey I was looking for you." She laughed. "I was at Dinky's house for launch." Scootaloo smiled. "Yeah I noticed the voice mail." Scootaloo walked inside. She was surprised so see her favorite food cooking on the stove, the table set for three. Rainbow Dash stood beside her and then went into the living room, Scootaloo followed. Tornado was sitting on a chair facing them, he smiled and petted a couch cushion, "Sit down sweetie." Tornado said. Scootaloo sat down on the soft cushion closest to her dad, Rainbow Dash sat on the one next to her. Tornado cleared his throat, "Scootaloo, I've got to explain something to you." "What is it?" Scootaloo asked, she looked at him and then to Rainbow Dash, then back to Tornado, "Dose it involve Rainbow Dash?" "Yes..." Tornado nodded, "You see...She and I are kind of dating now." Rainbow Dash smiled as Scootaloo looked over at her, "Really?" Scootaloo asked with excitement as her eyes grew. "Yep." Rainbow Dash messed with her hair. "That's why the table is set for three, Rainbow will be eating with us tonight." Tornado smiled. Scootaloo grinned and hopped from the couch, "Awesome!" She ran into the kitchen and waited for them. Once she was gone, Tornado and Rainbow Dash shared a smiled and stood up. The walked into the kitchen and prepared themselves for years of happiness. Author's Note Finally I'm spelling dinky right! Chapter 1Scootaloo popped some popcorn into her mouth as she watched the movie, psycho.
