"It's not even in town!" Explained Pendent who was the younger of the two. "Well duh, it is a valley.. and I'm pretty sure the only time ponies go here is for romantic, yucky, picnics.  Starburst said as she stuck out her tongue. Pendent looked at Starburst and stuck out his tongue too. The ponies couldn't stop giggling, and well they hadn't really experienced what love was yet. The ponies finally reached the valley. The valley had flowers covering it, and the grass was perfectly green. It was as if the ponies were in heaven. "This looks so.. stunning, I can't believe this is in Ponyville." Starburst said with a big smile.  Pendent nodded his head. "Same, who knew that such wonders can possibly exist.. ANYWHERE!" Explained the colt.   Starburst tagged Pendent. "Come on we've just gotta play tag here, there's just so much room!"  Pendent nodded his head in agreement and chased the young mare. The ponies were having so much fun that they totally didn't realize what time had passed. As Pendent tagged Starburst he realized that the sun was moving down behind the mountains.  "Well, we best get to our homes now.. it's getting late really fast." Starburst  explained as she patted her best friend's back. "Yeah.. I think you're right."  The colt replied back.  The walked briskly through the long valley, but they started noticing that shadows were following them. The ponies looked behind them.. and it seemed as though more and more shadows were growing towards them. Pendent's eyes opened wide. "I-I don't like this!" He yelled to Starburst. He had to yell because they were running so fast that he just had to speak up (besides Starburst's hearing wasn't the best.) Starburst looked at her friend..her eyes looked like she had just seen hell and her face looked as pale as ever. Starburst stopped running and just stared at the shadows. Pendent stopped too but to save his friend.  "Star... Star listen please! T-those shadows.. they're not normal.. please you have to keep running!" Explained the colt.  Star's hair started changing color.. the orange hair she had before was now turning into a white color tone. "W-what the hell?!" Pendent said in a shaky voice. He backed away slowly and watched as his friend was slowly turning into something he had never seen in his life.  Not only was her hair changing color but her eye's too.  Her eye's were turning into such a light color that it seemed as though she was going blind. The filly opened her mouth a little bit.. and to Pendent's horror the young filly had vanished. After his friend had disappeared, Pendent turned around and ran for his life, this was probably the fastest he had ever run. Shadows started circling around the young stallion.  "I-I can't d-die.. not like this."  He said as he ran even faster. He felt like if he got to the town he'd be safe.. but what if he wouldn't be safe there what then? He didn't have time to think about that right now, he had to get to Ponyville and soon. He finally saw the town. The lights and the ponies there seemed to be a huge amount of relief. "I-i'm almost there." he said with a little smile. the shadows gained even closer to him. He started crying.. he knew he wasn't going to make it.. and sadly he didn't The shadows finally had gotten to him and just like his friend the same happened to him. Sadly his body wasn't found nor was his friend. By the time some of the towns folk had gotten to the area..all they could see was a black circle ingrained on the ground. "What happened!?" Asked a mare who hadn't seen the terrible tragedy. "We don't know ma'am." Said and investigator.  The mare who had asked the question was actually an advanced scientist.  She had been studying magic science and earth science for quite sometime. But this event made no sense to her. "I'll find out what happened, no pony should just die without an explanation." The mare said as she looked at the area where the pony had disappeared. "d-did he even die?" She questioned. "It seemed as though he had just been sucked into the ground." She said with an overwhelmed expression.  There were so many questions.. but sadly not enough answers "This will never be forgotten... I will find out what happen, even if I die the same way."  The mare said to herself as a tear fell from her eye. "h-how could this happen to such a young stallion..o-or anypony for that matter."  She said she slammed her hoof on her desk (and in doing so she messed up some important documents.)"ugh, why did I do that?" She said she she glared at her documents.  But as the mare looked at her documents she noticed something. A case that she had been trying to solve a year or two ago, had to do with shadows.. but these shadows were different..  the mare had heard about filly who had lost her doll, but the odd thing was the doll was sucked into the ground.. and was never seen again. It wasn't a sink hole if it was there would have been some evidence of a kind of hole or something like that. And it seemed like when these events happened they always had shadows that were involved somehow. Which made the mare even more interested. "Okay, I have to find out what happened.. and I'll start right away!" The mare explained as she headed out her front door. "I will know what happened.."                                                       -To Be Continued- //-------------------------------------------------------// Annoying Aquaintance //-------------------------------------------------------// Annoying Aquaintance "I momentarily thought about the situation, so honestly I don't know what happened but I want to know."  The mare said as she looked at Miss Mayor.  "So you honestly have no idea what happened? But you are a certified scientist.. what about a certified detective.. are you that too?" Miss Mayor asked. She wanted to know if she was trained for situations such as these. "not exactly.. but I do know a lot about solving situations such as murder cases and what not."  The mare explained as she tried to get the mayor to allow her to be involved in such a situation. "Thunderscape, I honestly don't know if this is such a great idea, you just happen to find yourself in these situations but you're not trained.." Miss Mayor looked at the mare (Thunderscape) and made an expression that did not look pleasing. "Look, I know a few mares that can handle this situation.. they're more trained for things like this." The Mayor said as she let out a sigh. "But you do seem to be pretty smart about things like this so.. hell why not?!" Miss Mayor said as she winked at Thunder.  The mare smiled and felt a rush of happiness swoop over her. "Oh thank you so much! you have no idea how happy this makes me!!" The mare explained as she shook the mayor's hoof. "Okay.. okay you better get to it, this case can't just solve it's self." The mayor said as she made a little giggle. "Yes ma'am!" the mare said as she smiled back at the mayor. As the mare headed out the door a stallion walked right past her.  He stopped right in front of the mare and made a little smile. "So.. you're working on the same case huh?" The stallion asked as he kept making the same stupid smile. "Uh.. if you'd tell me what case you're working on then honestly I don't know.."  The mare said as she glared at him. "Well.. i'll just call it the Shadow Valley case for right now, honestly we don't really name our cases. "Then we are working on the same case.." The mare replied as she continued to glare at the stallion. "Oh.. the name is Status Quo by the way. But of course you can just call me Status." The stallion said with a grin. Thunder looked at him and raised one eyebrow. "That's nice I guess.." She said as she rolled her eyes. The stallion had curly, auburn hair with orange eyes. He had sideburns too (which Thunder absolutely hated) The stallion ran after the mare. "Wait! You never told me your name!" The stallion explained. "Ugh, my name is Thunderscape.." She said as she let out a loud sigh. "Now can you please just let me solve this case, please? I have to head over to the valley area to see if I can get some questions answered." The mare explained as she headed out of the building. "Hold up, you can't go alone.. it's way too dangerous!" The stallion yelled to the mare. "I'm experienced you dope!" The mare yelled back to the stallion. "Look, I have to find evidence too so.. just let me come with you." The mare rolled her eyes once more.  "Ugh, fine .." She said with a sigh. The stallion and the mare headed to the valley. "I heard that this valley looks so stunning in the morning. It's kinda creepy because ponies get so attracted to this place, and then the shadows appear and it's the end for them." The stallion continued to open his big mouth. "But hey we're experts so nothing bad will happen to us." The stallion said with a smirk. "Oh my Celestia! Can you shut up please!!?" The mare yelled to him and glared. "I'm trying to solve a case you know!" She she said as her yelling got louder.                                                                     -To Be Continued-
