The sun was gradually lifted into the sky, its brilliance struck the ground, autum ringing in the air. The sky was dotted with the many tufts of white clouds, shading the hills of the Succubi's Temples. The countless columns of the buildings began a soft glow, vines slowly embedding them. Finally, the time had come for the foals of the Ponyville Schoolhouse to be placed in a class. Each foal had finally reached the age of one, nearly being full blown pre-teens. The school ponies all had grown substantially, each of them wearing long cape with the schoolhouses initials on their shoulder.

Cheerilee and the other members of the faculty wore a blue cape, they too had the schools initials on their shoulder blades, but in the only difference was a star below the letters. They all trotted in two lines, filles on one side colts on the other. The faculty led way into a grey temple, words scrawled on the metope readTemple de las clases, Temple of the classes. They dispatched to either side of the temple, facing towards the opposite sex. Cheerilee kept walking until she reached a podium that glowed a bright shade of gold. Cheerilee cleared her throat.

"You may now turn and ensconce yourselves." She announced.

The room full of tweens turned towards her, sitting sort of scattered in order to get a good view. Cheerilee watched as the other teachers came and stood beside her, standing tall. She ran a fore hoove over the table top of the podium, the flat surface slid back revealing a drawer of scrolls. She looked up to meet the eyes of her pupils, opening her mouth to speak.

"Fillies and colts, I Pedagogue Cheerilee am happy to present you all with your class selection scrolls. Many, many years you have waited for this moment, and now the time has come. I shall be going in alphabetical order, please be ready for your name to be called."

It felt like each student shuffled in their seat, they all seemed ready for this moment. With all this nervous energy floating about, you'd think eveypony was on edge; but the CMC seemed surprisingly calm. They sat near the back, all together as always. They all smiled, until Scootaloo whispered

"Hey Apple Bloom?"

"Yeah?" She answered smugly.

"Aren't you the first one?"

The yellow earth ponies heart stopped. She had forgotten that her name was at the very top of the names list. Her mind rushed with worry, all she had wanted was to giggle as the nervous foals that would have to step up and receive their scroll. She began breathing deeply, fixing her mane without second thought.

"Apple Bloom." Cheerilee said nonchalantly, taking the first scroll from the box.

She hesitated briefly before hopping up. She quickly tried to relax herself, then she remembered what AppleJack had said to her before she left this morning.

Bring honour to your class, and you'll be heavily rewarded.

Those words rang in Apple Bloom's ears as she neared a glowing golden scroll that sat in her teachers hooves. Her fast trotting slowed as she came closer to Cheerilee. The magenta mare smiled dimly, awaiting the yellow filly to take her scroll and say the words of thanks. Apple Bloom smiled, gently taking the levitating scroll from within the teachers magic.

"My dearest thanks mistress." She nodded, turning an walking back to her seat.

As the filly walked back to her seat Cheerilee called another name. Acher's. Apple Bloom sat down, tuning out anypony and everypony's voice. Her mind was on the scroll now, what would it say? What class was she in? She'd rip it open if she could, but tradition stated you must open it in the presence of your family. Damn those traditons, Apple Bloom wantedneeded, to know what class she was in. As her mind spun with possiblities, she snapped back into reality as Sweetiebelle's name was called aloud.

The white unicorn stood proudly, smiling as she strutted up to their mentor. Apple Bloom was in awe, she must've looked like a fool compared to Sweetiebelle, she was shivering and sweating while Sweetbelle's face showed nothing but pride. The unicorn removed the scroll from her teacher's grasp, repeating what everypony else had said; My dearest thanks, mistress. She turned on her hooves, strutting back as the next pony was called to take her place. She returned to her friends, whispering to Scootaloo.

They hoof bumped, giggling at the next foal as they stumbled. Apple Bloom sighed, she too wanted to laugh, but her stomach twisted and fluttered. Scootaloo was next, she hopped up ebulliently, wings spread. She shared Sweetiebelle's proud strutt, taking her scroll and reciting the words of thanks. Just as before, another name was called right after she pivoted to leave. She made her way through the crowd, passing the foal who was next. She sat in her seat between her friends, sharing another hoof bump with Sweetiebelle.

"Apple Bloom?" Scootaloo whispered to her, catching her attention. "Are you okay? You haven't spoke to us."

The filly swallowed calmly, wanting to bite her tounge.

"II'm just worried about my class," Her southern accent rang soft, her eyes glittering with worry.

"Don't be scatterbrained," Sweetiebelle's whisper sounded from behind Scootaloo, her eyes focused on the next foal up. "We'll know soon enough, there's only two ponies left."

"But" Apple Bloom was interupted by the sound of hooves of granite, 'clapping' roared throughout the temple.

The CMC joined in, watching intently as Cheerilee dismissed them all. Ponies arose in front of them, chatter beginning instantaneously. Scootaloo and Sweetiebelle jumped up, rousing Apple Bloom from her worried day-dreaming. They all began trotting out of the sacred temple, following the winding path that led them there. The distant sound of other hooves became hushed as the CMC broke into a hurried sprint. Scootaloo and Sweetiebelle's running was accompanied by chanting Cutie Mark Adventurers!
