Chapters Author's Note
A short prologue, set in the "present." Most of the story is Rainbow re-telling various important events of her life, that are related to her relationship with Firestar.
Firestar is, of course, based somewhat off of myself, but he does have quite a few relatively-minor differences.
Prologue
It was a calm day, in Ponyville. Nothing world-changing had occurred, yet. So, with nothing to do on their free day, six friends were relaxing together, in a castle.
After teasing Twilight Sparkle, again, about her feelings for Flash Sentry (and subsequently congratulating her, when she revealed that the two of them had started dating), the topic changed to everypony's’ relationships.
Twilight Sparkle, deciding to quickly discover the answers to one question, said “Raise your hoof, if you’re in a relationship.”
Three ponies put their hooves in the air. Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash.
“Okay, we knew Twilight was,” Rarity remarked, “but… Rainbow? Fluttershy?”
“Yep!” Rainbow Dash replied. “Well, I didn’t know about Fluttershy, but I’ve been taken since before we’d all met.”
“Really?” Applejack exclaimed. “Wow! Who’s the lucky stallion? Or is it a mare?”
Rainbow blushed. “H-He’s a stallion. His name’s Firestar.”
“Ah don’t believe Ah know that name.”
“I’d be surprised if anypony here, except Fluttershy, knew him. He lives up in Cloudsdale.”
“What’s he like?” Rarity said. “I’ll bet he’s dreamy…”
Rainbow blushed. “Y-Yeah, he’s not exactly hard on the eyes, heh. He’s really athletic, too.”
“As much as you are?” Twilight asked.
“Almost. He’s… He’s like a cross between you and me.”
“Like… if you and me were the extremes, he’s the middle?”
“Pretty much. That’s really not that far off.”
“He sounds like a good stallion.” Applejack remarked.
“Yeah, he’s awesome.” Rainbow replied.
“I thought only you were awesome.” Applejack teased, smirking.
Rainbow grinned. “I am the awesomest pony in Equestria,” she replied jokingly, “but, if there’s anypony that’s close, it’s him.”
“They grew up together, in Cloudsdale.” Fluttershy added. “All three of us did.”
“If you’ve been together so long,” Twilight said, “then how have we never met him?”
“We’ve been going low-key, for a long time.” Rainbow replied. She winced. “Extremely low-key. Actually, we haven’t gone on a date since a few weeks before we all met.”
“You broke up!?!” Rarity exclaimed.
Rainbow hurried to correct her. “No! We’re definitely still together. We just haven’t done anything, in a while. Things have just been too busy. But we’re both getting too impatient to wait for things to clear up, any longer. We’re going to try to fit at least one date a week into our schedules, now. He’s going to move here so that that’s possible.”
“How did you all meet?” Twilight asked.
Rainbow grimaced. “I almost made a bad, permanent choice. He stopped me.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, that’s a long story.”
“We’ve got the time. Not much else to do.”
“Good point.” Rainbow acquiesced. “I was trying to be ‘cool.’ But not the type of cool I like. I was trying to fit in with the popular crowd, at flight school. But, they weren’t exactly model people...”

Chapter 3: How I Fell for Him, How We Fell in Love
“During my first heat,” Rainbow said, “Firestar teased me a bunch of times. Usually pretty subtle stuff. He didn’t actually pick on me, though. He knew I was uncomfortable. No, his teasing was more of the stuff that would seem accidental, but would leave me flustered.”
Firestar
Rainbow and I were hanging out. It’d been a week since she’d gotten her Cutie Mark, and her heat was firing on all pistons. I was the ADHD pony, here, and she fidgeted more than I do when I forget to take my Ritalin, for Celestia’s sake!
Knowing she was extremely uncomfortable with her “condition,” I never gave her a hard time. I had followed her dad’s advice, though; I’d gotten her lunch every other day, for example. Nothing romantic, though. Just a hayburger and fries, or a sandwich. Occasionally, we’d share an apple pie, for dessert.
One time, a major flustering opportunity came, and I took it. I’d accidentally dropped a notebook I’d been carrying. “Oops.” I bent down, making sure that, should she look, Dash could admire my physique. Especially the back part. Oh, it was subtle. I didn’t make it obvious. It would just seem like I was picking the notebook up, rather than also trying to give her a good view.
When I came back up, Rainbow’s face was red. “You okay?” I asked, feigning ignorance.
“Y-Yeah.” She replied.
“Okay.”
We started walking. At one point, I felt something hit my rump. I heard Rainbow gasp as I looked back. I caught her tail moving back behind her. Rainbow’s face was bright red. “I-I’m sorry!” She exclaimed. “It-It’s the heat!”
“I know.” I replied, feeling my own face warm up. “Got a bad spike, huh?”
“Y-Yeah. I can’t think straight, when they hit.” She said. “Suddenly, things I’d never even consider… I just do them! My mind goes to the gutter with almost everything I see or hear. I can’t help it!”
“And that’s exactly why you’re completely forgiven.” I said. I smirked. “For now.” I teased.
She smiled seductively. “What, you gonna punish me, big colt?” She asked sultrily. Then, she gasped. Both of us went red.
“Not-Not likely!” I replied, both embarrassed and amused.
We both started chuckling, both amused and venting our embarrassment.
When we finished laughing, she pressed herself up to me. “I’m glad we’re friends, Fire.” She said, nuzzling my neck.
“U-Um… thanks.” I stammered. “Ehm… Rainbow? You’re not the only one feeling a bit awkward, here.”
A gasp, and the air on my side, told me that she’d realized what she was doing.
“But, for the record,” I continued, “I’m glad, too.” We shared a quick smile, and went on with our day.
Rainbow Dash
My heat had finally ended. Yesterday, I hadn’t had any heat-spikes. The month of torture was over, thank Celestia.
I found myself thinking back to the times Firestar and I had hung out. The awkward moments, the great times. But mostly, I about thought Firestar himself.
His endless forgiveness of my heat-induced temptings, his patience, and his complete self-control. He never gave in, even though (and I know this for a fact) some of it definitely aroused him. And, through it all, he never once even considered the idea of hanging out with me less. I was grateful beyond words. He’d kept me from doing anything stupid, even with him, and he’d stuck with me, despite what I’d unintentionally put him through.
I found my thoughts turning to his body. His slim, sexy body. Not too hard, but not too soft, either. Well-toned, strong muscles. Couple all that with his personality? Mmm…
I shook my head. What are you doing, Dash? You’re not in heat anymore, are you? Wait… is it possible…? Do I… Do I like him? No way. I’ve only been a mare for about a month! Is that even possible, so soon? I shrugged, putting away the internal conflict, for now. My dad was hosting a party for me, tonight, in honor of surviving my first heat (and for getting my Cutie Mark). It was more of an excuse to have a friendly get-together, but my dad had hinted that there was a reason only ponies with Cutie Marks went to the last part of it.
I’d gotten a little concerned at that, but dad had just laughed and told me it wasn’t like what I’d inferred.
The party was awesome. Firestar, Gilda (we’d patched things up last year), and even Windfall (who’d changed drastically, for the better, since we’d all met Firestar) showed up. We chatted, lounged around, and basically just had a good time.
If I’d known what was coming, I honestly don’t know if I would have gone. Knowing what eventually came from it, though, I likely would have.
“Okay, everypony!” My dad said loudly, putting all attention on himself. “Party’s over! Grown-ups, head to the kitchen! Everypony else, we’ll see you all tomorrow!”
After saying our “thank you’s” and “goodbye’s,” dad and I got everypony back into the living room.
“Time to mess with the star of the party!” Dad said.
“Wait, what?” I exclaimed.
Thus, the pranks and games began. But the coup d’etat, however, was beyond unexpected; Kiss the New-Grown.
“W-Wait! Wha-What!?!” I exclaimed, as Windfall told me, in private.
She just laughed and unrolled a piece of paper. “All the females have voted. The lucky stallion is…” Her eyes widened, and she laughed. “Firestar!”
“What!?!” I exclaimed, again.
“At some point during the next hour, the two of you have to kiss.” Windfall left to tell Firestar. He had pretty much the same reaction as I did.
Over the next half-hour, the two of us reluctantly avoided each other. But we got outsmarted. The two of us found ourselves alone in the kitchen.
“So…” He began, “how are things?”
“G-Good.” I replied.
“Um… you know, we-we don’t have to… we-we could just, um-”
“Oh, just come here!” I said. I grabbed him, and kissed him, right on the lips.
He stiffened in shock, but then melted into it, as did I. I don’t know for sure, but I’d guess that we stayed lip-locked for a good five-or-so seconds. Our lips brushing together, our forehooves embracing each other. As if we were old lovers. It just felt... right .
When I finally pulled away, I looked him in the eyes, and said “Consider that my thanks, for keeping me out of trouble.”
“Uh… Uh-huh.” He said, still in shock from the kiss.
“Was it good?” Windfall’s voice asked from the doorway.
I whirled around, gasping. Everyone who’d “voted” was clustered around the doorway, smiling. Some of them even started softly clapping.
We were both blushing harder than we’d ever thought possible. Windfall grabbed me, and steered me into a private corner. For some reason, everypony let us keep our privacy.
“Well?” She asked. “Was it?”
“Uh-Well, yeah, but… but that’s not the point, here!” I exclaimed. “You forced us to! And then you spied on us? What were you trying to do?”
“Get two friends that have obviously fallen for each other into an official, romantic relationship.” Windfall stated.
I opened my mouth to reply, but all it did was flap like a fish. I was speechless. Then, a part of her sentence clicked. “W-Wait… are you saying… he likes me?”
Windfall laughed, almost falling to the floor. “Yes!” She exclaimed. “Yes! He likes you! He has since before you got your Cutie Mark!”
I reeled back. “W-What!?! A-Are you sure?”
“Midnight told me.” Windfall said.
Midnight Blackbird. Firestar’s first fillyfriend. Right after he’d gotten his Cutie Mark, they’d gotten together, for about four months. It was a pretty peaceful break-up, and they were still good friends. In fact, if I wasn’t already filling that spot, Midnight would be Firestar’s number-one friend. Nowadays, they considered each other more like siblings than friends. I’d thought the same had been for us, but apparently the type of affection was different. The only reason Midnight wasn’t here was because she was sick. Caring of her, to not spread the sickness to everypony else.
“And I know you like him, too!” Windfall continued.
“What?” I stammered. “Who said that? I only figured-” I clamped my mouth shut, but it was too late.
Windfall just collapsed, laughing too hard to remain standing. “You figured it out this morning? Before the party? When you kissed?”
“R-Right before the party.” I admitted softly, looking down.
Windfall stopped laughing. A hoof tapping my chin made me look up into her caring eyes. “Hey, Rainbow, what’s wrong?” Her voice was soft. “Liking somepony isn’t a bad thing! Especially if they like you back!” She said, countering my answer to her apparently-rhetorical question.
“But…” I trailed off, trying to find some fault with it. “But…” I sighed. “I just don’t know!”
“My advice?” Windfall said. “Wait a few minutes, and then go talk to him. Let him get his thoughts straight, and then the two of you can decide what to do.”
“What if… What if he doesn’t want me?” I asked worriedly.
Windfall just patted my shoulder. “Trust me.” She said. “If he didn’t want you, he wouldn’t have reacted to the kiss like that.”
I think Firestar must’ve hid somewhere, because I couldn’t find him until he came to the door, ready to leave.
“Hey,” I said softly, “can I talk to you for a second? In private?”
“Uh… s-sure.” He replied.
We walked to the corner of the living room. I turned to face him. “That certainly wasn’t how I planned to have my first kiss.” I stated bluntly.
Firestar snorted. “Me neither.” He agreed.
“What? You and Midnight never kissed?”
“Not on purpose.” He replied. “There was that one time where it was dark, and she thought my head was turned to the side, and it wasn’t, but I barely felt it.”
“... Anyways. I… Look, I figured this out a little bit before the party, and Windfall said… she said you liked me?”
Firestar blushed, and looked down. “Y-Yeah.” He said. His hoof pawed at the ground, a little.
“Do you… I-I’m willing to…” I trailed off, trying to get my thoughts straight, so I could form a full sentence. “I-I’m willing to do that again, sometime.” I told him.
His head jerked up, his eyes wide. “W-What?” He exclaimed. “You mean you-”
I hugged him. After he recovered from the surprise, he returned the embrace. “Yes.” I whispered into his ear. The hug got tighter, after that.
We continued the embrace for a few more seconds, and then I walked him to the door.
“So…” He started, “lunch, tomorrow? The usual?”
I smiled. You know me so well . “Sounds absolutely perfect!” I replied softly. “Pick me up, okay?” I gave him a peck on the cheek. “Bye!”
“Bye!”
I watched him walk off, smiling so hard, I was afraid my face was going to fall off. When he turned the corner, he waved. I waved back. Once he left my sight, I turned. And gasped, as I saw my father standing in the doorway, looking at me with a knowing smile.
“I wondered when you two would get together.” He said, bluntly.
“You-What?” I stammered, confused.
“The day you got your Cutie Mark.” He told me. “You let him stay. I saw it right then. That’s also when he told me how he felt about you.”
“How… How long has he liked me?”
“He claims to have figured out his feelings for you only a couple months after he and Midnight broke up.”
“That long ago?” I said, incredulous.
“Yep. Come on, let’s go inside. Then we can talk more about stallions.”
“Not quite how I imagined it happening,” Rarity remarked, “but romantic, nonetheless.”
“Our first date went pretty well, too.” Rainbow said, ignoring Rarity’s remark. “We were both nervous, but we both knew our nervousness was uncalled for..."
The doorbell rang. I scrambled to get to it. Dad saw my scrambling, and stepped back.
I opened the door to Firestar’s smiling face. “Hey!” I greeted him, drawing him into a hug.
“Hey, Dash!” He returned the embrace. “You ready to go?”
“Yep!” I turned. “Bye, dad!”
“Have a good time!” He said. “Don’t do anything too crazy!”
“We’ll try not to destroy Cloudsdale.” I laughed.
“He chuckled. “That, too.”
My face went red. “D-Dad!” I exclaimed. “First date! We’re not going to rut!”
He just laughed. “I know! I know. I’m just messing with you.”
“Ugh!” I groaned, but I was smiling. I knew my dad meant well, and I can’t say I wouldn’t mess with my friends the exact same way.
“We’ll try not to make all of Cloudsdale evacuate from our screams of pleasure.” Firestar joked.
As my dad just lost it, I stared at Firestar, speechless. “I… You… Am I missing something, here?”
“A sense of humor.” Firestar replied innocently.
I glared at him, but, I had to admit, the whole situation actually was pretty amusing. Eventually, I found myself laughing right alongside them.
We sat down at our seats in the restaurant. Most ponies would usually want fancy things for their dates, especially their first ones, but Firestar and I were simple ponies, in that regard; we both preferred your average, casual restaurant with your average, casual hayburger and fries, or maybe a sandwich. We weren’t trying to be cheap; we were getting what we both actually preferred to have.
“You know,” Firestar began,“ “the only problem I can think of about dating your best friend is that, on dates, you don’t have nearly as much to talk about.”
I snorted, knowing that he just said what had popped into his head, and was trying to lighten the mood with a bit of comedy. We both chuckled.
The conversation turned to the Wonderbolts’ latest performance. After a minute, our meals arrived, and we ate, exchanging words in between bites.
It sounds dull and simple, but it was nice. It was what we both enjoyed doing.
We spent a couple more hours strolling around Cloudsdale. Occasionally, we’d opt to fly, instead. Surprisingly, we only had three races. We mostly just flew side-by-side, relaxing with each other, and enjoying the crisp, midday air.
Eventually we found ourselves in front of my house, again.
“Did you…” Firestar began, worried, “did you like it?”
I smiled, and gave him a great, big hug. “I loved it.” I replied softly.
We stayed in each other’s embrace for a few seconds longer. Eventually, I stepped back. “Thanks, Fire.” I said.
“It was my pleasure.” He replied.
Most ponies probably expect their first kiss (at least, first while being in a relationship) to be something super special. Ours was both special and not special. It wasn’t pre-planned. It was spur of the moment, and it wasn’t in any kind of romantic setting. We just… did it.
I leaned in, and he did the same. Our lips met, and for a moment, the rest of the world ceased to exist. It was just us. And it was perfect .
The moment was interrupted by a pony clearing his throat.
I gasped and whipped around. Dad was standing in the doorway, smirking. “First date, and your kisses are that long?”
I blushed. “D-Dad! I-We-It’s-” I realized he was laughing, and clamped my mouth shut.
“It’s not nearly as much as your mother and I used to do, after dates.” He joked. “It’s almost suppertime, you two. Why don’t you come in, Firestar?”
Firestar stammered for a second, and then settled with shrugging and saying “Okay. Thanks!”
“You’ve always been welcome here.” My dad replied. “Sometimes I wonder if you stay here more than you stay at your own house.”
A ding! sounded from the kitchen.
“Oh!” My dad exclaimed. “There’s dinner! Come on in, and let’s eat!”
Chapter 6: Our First Time
"Well, good." She said. "'Cuz, um... well, me and Firestar... well, we're not exactly 'inexperienced' with each other, I guess you could say."
“Happy birthday!!” Everypony yelled to me, as I entered the living room.
“Whoa!” I exclaimed in surprise. I hadn’t known anyone was even here, much less waiting for me!
Firestar emerged from the crowd of bodies, and ran up to me. He gave me a great big hug, and pecked my cheek. “Happy birthday, Dash!” He said.
I blushed. “You realize you just did that in front of everypony, right?” I mumbled, smiling.
He smiled. “We’ve been dating for over a year, now.” He replied. “I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t be surprised by a small kiss.”
I shrugged. “True enough. So come here.” I grabbed him, and pulled into a true kiss, right on the lips.
Someone made a cat-call whistle. I turned him so I could fake-glare at the crowd, our lips still locked together.
After a few minutes of socializing, my dad yelled out “Time for presents!”
Everypony cheered, including me. What? Who doesn’t like getting birthday presents?
We scrambled to get ourselves into a huddle, in the living room. I hadn’t noticed them all being dropped off, but apparently, quite a stack of presents was sitting in one corner of the room, wrapped up like it was Hearth’s Warming.
We got to unwrapping presents. I enthusiastically thanked everypony for each one. At one point, Firestar got up to go to the bathroom. Coincidentally, the next present was yet another from him. Windfall persuaded me to open it now, and thank him later.
It was a package. Looked like leaves, or something. I read the inscription, and froze, my face burning. I got up. “I need to talk to him, in private.” I stated, walking out of the room.
Firestar
I exited the bathroom, and found a red-faced Rainbow. She looked both embarrassed and angry. She held up a package of what looked like a bunch of random leaves. “What the hay is this?” She asked.
“Uh… leaves?” I said, hesitantly. “I don’t know.”
She pointed at the inscription, and exclaimed “You gave it to me!”
“What?” My eyebrows scrunched together in confusion. “No I didn’t.” I read the inscription. I gasped, and my face went red. Moon Tea, pre-made. Just needs water. “That’s not from me!” I exclaimed.
“The packaging had your name on it.” Dash stated.
“Then I just got framed.” I said.
“By who?” She asked. “Who would give us this?”
“I don’t know.” I replied. “Your dad?”
She jerked her head back. “Why would dad give us this?” She replied. “I know he helped us get together, but there are still some thing he wouldn’t even consider doing.”
“Well, I don’t have the faintest clue.” I said.
She sighed, and ran a hoof through her mane. “Let’s just go back to the party, and pretend this never happened.”
“Sounds good.”
Rainbow Dash
It was the next day. Firestar and I were only a year and two days apart, so his own birthday was tomorrow.
He’d gotten his own house, recently, so we were hanging out over there.
I couldn’t stop thinking about a certain gift, from yesterday.
“H-... Hey, Firestar?” I said softly.
He looked up from the sandwich he was making. “Yeah?”
“Remember that… weird gift, yesterday?”
He blushed. “Uh… Y-Yeah.”
“Have you… Have you ever thought about… using it?”
He blinked in surprise. “Using…” His eyes widened. “What?” He exclaimed in shock.
“Using the Moon tea.” I stated. “Have you ever thought about using it? Besides for my heat?”
He gulped. “Seriously, or actually?”
I blushed. “S-Seriously.”
He looked down. “...A little.” He eventually replied.
I nodded. “Me too.”
He looked at me. “Really?”
“Yeah.” I said.
He shuffled on his hooves. There was a couple seconds of awkward silence. “So…” He began, “what, um… w-what did you decide? If you have.”
I opened my mouth to reply, but hesitated. I hadn’t, really. But…
“I don’t know.” I finally settled on. I really couldn’t decide. “I’ll think on it, though, okay?”
“Of-Of course!” He replied. “You don’t have to say yes, Dash. I-I mean, I’m not in this for the sex. I’m here for you.”
I gave him a hug. “I know.” I said softly. “I’ve known that all along. And we both know that the same goes for me.”
I stepped back. “We’ll see how we feel about it tomorrow.”
Eventually, the sky had gotten dark. Celestia had already lowered the sun most of the way past the horizon. After a while, it was just me and Firestar. We settled for playing a card game, and occasionally making out.
Although, after a while, he glanced at the clock. “It’s ten-thirty, Dash.” He stated, getting up.
He started walking to the door, but stopped when I asked “What are you doing?”
“...Getting ready to say goodbye?” He replied, confused.
I smirked. “Don’t be so quick to get rid of me.” I chuckled.
He laughed. “If I could, I’d never let you go.”
“Maybe you don’t have to.” I said sultrily. I wriggled my rump, in case he didn’t get the message.
His mouth dropped open, in shock. A big “O” of surprise. He shook his head to get the gears restarted. “Are you… Are you sure?” He asked.
I nodded. “I’m sure.” I replied. “Tomorrow.”
“O-Okay then!” He said, grinning, his face still as red as a tomato (not that mine wasn’t, as well). “Um, we still have to tell your dad, though, that you’re staying the night.”
“Oh yeah.” I shrugged. “Okay. No big deal.” As I walked past, I flicked him with my tail. “See you tomorrow, big colt.” I said, a seductive grin on my face. After a couple seconds, though, we both burst out laughing.
Firestar
My birthday party was awesome. Rainbow’s dad had opted to participate for most of it, but he had things he needed to do, at home, so he left early. Rainbow stayed. All of my friends came. Midnight had managed to not get herself sick this week, so she was able to come, too. We all had a great time hanging out, playing games, chatting, and messing around.
Eventually, most ponies left. It was just me, Windfall, Midnight, and Rainbow left. Monopoly is fun. But I wasn’t very good at it. Me and Rainbow busted each other out within five minutes.
While we were sitting on the couch waiting for our two friends to finish the game, Rainbow leaned into me. I held her, and she snuggled further into my forehooves. “By the way,” she whispered, “my dad said yes.”
“Yes to… oh!” I said, realizing what she meant. My face went red.
Windfall noticed my face. “Did she just whisper what she was planning on doing to you tonight?” She joked. “In detail?”
“N-No.” I stammered, trying to recover.
“Nah,” Midnight replied, smirking mischievously, “she just said what he’ll do to her. Mmm, kinky, Fire! I didn’t know you had it in you!”
Everypony burst out laughing, including me, though my face was still quite warm.
“By the way, Rainbow,” Windfall said, whence we’d all recovered, “what was in that bag you brought?”
Rainbow blushed. “N-Nothing.”
“Oh, come on! Just a friendly hint?”
“Eh… Something fun.” Rainbow replied.
As soon as I saw Windfall’s face, I knew she was going to say another joke. She gasped. “You brought a dildo!?!”
While I stared at Windfall, slack-jawed, Rainbow sputtered. “What-I-You-No! I don’t even have one!”
Midnight joined in. “You don’t need a penis to have a dildo, Dash.”
Rainbow face-planted onto the couch’s arm. What little I saw of her face before that was a giant “O” of shock, but I think I saw a bit of amusement. Windfall fell on the floor, completely losing any sense of self-control as she yelled in laughter, gasping for breath. I, myself, almost fell from my own laughing.
After Windfall and Midnight had left (and a lot of friendly teasing), Rainbow and I settled for doing one last game of Monopoly, making out on the couch, and then talking about what we were going to do.
“I know I’ve asked you this already,” I said, “but are you really ready for this? Do you really want to? Now?”
“Yes.” She replied, without hesitation. “Do you?”
“Yes.” I stated.
“So… um, how do you want to do it?”
I chuckled. “I figured we’d just go with the flow. I mean, neither of us are experienced.”
She snorted. “True.” She said, smiling.
“I’ve read a couple books on it.” I stated.
Rainbow snorted. “Books. Really?”
“What? I don’t mean romance stories. I mean actual guides, written by ponies who know what they’re talking about.”
“Yeah, whatever.” She said, but she was smiling. She was messing with me.
I fake-slapped her shoulder. “Shut up, you.” I laughed.
“You won’t want me quiet in a bit.” She replied sultrily. “But for now, I think I wouldn’t mind having a reason to be.” She pulled me into another long-lasting kiss.
AU: The following scenes are HEAVY in sexual references (in fact, the next scene literally has sex in it). If you wish to not read such things, skip to the next chapter (NOTE: Chapter 7 will be published eventually)
Rainbow had drunk a cup of her Moon Tea, in preparation. I was still a little surprised that this was really happening.
We entered my bedroom. The bed was built with having occasional company in mind. We laid on it, but didn’t get right into the sex. We kissed a lot, first. Our relationship was (and still is) romantic, not sexual. Love, not lust.
Eventually, Rainbow laid on her back, her legs and wings splayed out to her sides, giving me full access, and room to lay on top of her. I did.
“It’s going to hurt a little, at first.” I warned her. “We’re not used to it. I’ll be painfully big, to you.”
“I know.” She said softly. “I’ll tell you if it gets too much.”
“Okay.” I used my sheath’s muscles to pull it back, exposing my penis. Because of our kissing, I was already aroused.
I admired her body for a bit, then, while I looked lovingly into her eyes, I put myself at her entrance, and poked inside.
She gasped. “Wow! You weren’t joking.” After a couple seconds, she nodded. “Keep going. It’s not painful, yet, just weird. Good weird.”
I pushed a bit more. At about halfway in, she stopped me. I laid there, patiently, waiting for her to okay me. She was the one in pain, so she was the one in control.
I can’t say it didn’t feel good, already. I’d never felt something this good, down there. But my focus was on how Rainbow felt, not my own pleasure. After a couple minutes, she okay’d me. This time, she didn’t stop me until I was hilted.
We smiled lovingly at each other. I lowered my head, and she raised hers. Our muzzles met, and we shared a slow, but passionate kiss. Our tongues danced in each other’s mouths. We were literally as physically close as we could be.
When our lips separated, she smiled seductively at me.
“Rut me good, big colt.”
Rainbow Dash
I woke up in the hooves of my favorite stallion in all the world. In the mornings, I usually spring right up. Today, though, I was with Firestar. I barely moved a muscle. I just looked at his grinning, handsome, sleeping face, and smiled.
After the pain had gone away, and we’d started actually rutting, last night had totally blown my mind. Speaking of rutting…
I moved my rump a little. I could feel a lot of the end result inside me. Some had dribbled out, and the sheets needed washing, but most of it was still in me.
A stirring told me Firestar was waking up. He opened his eyes, and his smile got bigger. “Hey, beautiful.” He said softly.
I giggled. “Hey there, handsome.” We shared a kiss. “How was it?”
He grinned. “Unbelievable.”
I gave him a quick peck. “Same.”
“We need to do this again, sometime.” He said, half-joking, half-serious.
“Totally.” I agreed.
We laid there for another half-hour, or so. Kissing and talking quietly while in a soft bed and a loving embrace is deceptively enjoyable, at least to a mare of action and fast movement, like myself.
Eventually, Firestar glanced at the clock, and groaned. “We’d better get up and about, before ponies start thinking we’ve gone missing.” He joked.
We reluctantly got up, cleaned the bed, shared a rather-exciting shower, and, after I drank another of of Moon Tea, just to be safe, we went about our day.
Chapter 7: Meeting Her Friends
Firestar
I stepped off the train in Ponyville’s station, and breathed in the crisp, mid-day air. I looked around, seeing nothing but a whole lot of unfamiliar ponies greeting each other warmly. Positivity abound.
I picked up my stuff, completed all of the necessary procedures with the station’s personnel, and walked out into the town.
“Firestar!” A familiar voice called out my name.
I turned just in time to see rainbow-colored blur crash into me. “Oof!”
I was squished into the ground by a monstrous hug. “You made it!”
I chuckled. “Well, I almost didn’t. There was this really neat-looking house over in Zebrica…” I teased, making something up. I awaited the friendly punch that was her response.
“Shut up, you big doofus!” Rainbow said, chuckling.
We untangled ourselves and got up. “So,” I began, “since you’re here, want to help carry my stuff?”
“Sure!” We picked up my things, and set off.
After we’d dropped my various things off at my new home, Rainbow dragged me over the the town’s library. It’d been rebuilt, since Tirek had destroyed it, though the castle next to it remained. When we entered, it was dark.
“Um…” I said, “I don’t think anypony’s-”
“SURPRISE!!!” A whole lot of ponies suddenly sprung into existence around the room, as the lights came on.
“Woah!” I jumped.
Rainbow laughed. “Yeah, that’s how we do it, in Ponyville! Welcome, newcomer!”
A pink mare bounced - and I mean that literally - over to me. “Hiya!” She exclaimed. “I’m Pinkie Pie! You’re Firestar, right?” Without waiting for me to even nod my head, she continued in her rapid-fire pace. “Great! This is your ‘Welcome to Ponyville!’ surprise party! So, were you surprised? Were you? Were you? Were you?”
“Uh-Y-Yeah!” I stammered, trying (and failing) to will my heartbeat down an acceptable level.
“Great!” She exclaimed. “There’s punch, cupcakes, hot sauce, and flowers, if you want anything! Have fun!”
“Um… Okay!” I replied, but she was already gone. I turned to Rainbow. “You weren’t kidding, when you said hyper.”
She chuckled. “Oh, you have no idea. She’s always like that. It’s weird, but she grows on you.”
An orange mare in a stetson trotted up. “Mighty pleased ta meet ya, pardner.” She said, extending a hoof. “Ah’m Applejack.”
We shook. “Pleasure’s all mine.” I replied. “How’s the farm coming?” I asked her, recalling what Rainbow had said about the farmer pony.
“Pretty good, thanks.” She smiled. “Ah brought some apples, and there’s cider, if ya want any.”
“Hard?” I asked.
“Nah, sorry.”
“Don’t be. I don’t drink, actually. But I do love me a good cup of soft apple cider.”
“Well, you’ve come to the right town, then!” Applejack replied. “Best apples and apple cider in Equestria, right from the local Sweet Apple Acres farm!”
“Awesome!”
“Hey, Applejack,” Rainbow said, “how’s Applebloom doing?”
“She’s at home. The school gave her more work than she could get done in class.”
I grimaced. “Homework. Ugh.”
“You said it.” Rainbow agreed.
The three of us chatted a little more, then Applejack wandered off. Rainbow and I grabbed some punch.
“Seems like a nice place, already!” I stated, taking a sip.
“You bet it is!” Rainbow replied. “Everypony’s nice, I’ve got a lot of trick-practicing space, and nothing too bad usually ever happens. What’s to complain about?”
I grinned. “Gotta have that practice space, huh?” I joked.
She playfully bumped me. “Shut up!”
The two of us chuckled.
A lavender-colored, alicorn mare walked up to us. “Hey, Rainbow.” She greeted my marefriend. The newcomer turned to me. “You must be Firestar?”
“That I am.” I replied. I set my cup drink down, and extended a hoof. “A pleasure to meet you, Princess Sparkle.”
The shook my hoof, and smiled. “Twilight.” She corrected me. “I’m not one for formalities, if I can help it.”
I nodded. “I can respect that.” I replied. “Never been one for them, myself.”
“Enjoying the party?” She asked.
“You bet!” I exclaimed, picking my drink back up.
“Great!” Twilight shuffled awkwardly on her hooves for a moment. “Um… Things to talk about, things to talk about…”
I chuckled. “Do you run this library, still?”
“Not with as much micro-management as I used to, but yes.”
“Cool. You’ll probably see a lot of me.” I said.
“You like books?” Twilight lit up.
“Love ‘em! Ever since I was a small colt. When I didn’t have anything to do, and I wasn’t hanging out with Rainbow, I was usually reading.”
“What’s your favorite genre?”
“Action-Adventure. Daring Do’s my favorite.”
“Mine, too! And Rainbow’s.”
I chuckled. “It was a little amusing, when Rainbow told me she’d gotten into that series. She used to tease me all the time for reading it. I was her lovable egghead.”
Twilight raised an eyebrow. “She gave you the nickname ‘egghead,’ too?”
I laughed. “Yep! She saw me reading one, one day, and the first thing she said was ‘shut that book, and let’s go get some lunch, egghead!’”
The three of us chuckled. We spent the next couple of minutes discussing various book or education-related topics.
The rest of the party passed like a lovely breeze. I met all of Rainbow’s friends, and had some good talks with all of them. Eventually, I glanced at a clock, and sighed. “I’d better head on home.” I said. “Nothing’s been unpacked, and it’s almost dinnertime.”
“Okay.” Rainbow said, just as unhappy about it as I was.
“It was nice meeting you.” Rarity said.
“You as well, mademoiselle.” I replied. “Au revoir! Adios! Hasta mañana! See you all tomorrow!” I called out.
Dash, who was going to help me unpack, followed me out. “Alright, show-off.” She said. “Let’s go.”
“Well, look who’s talking!” I exclaimed, teasing her.
“Yeah, whatever!” She grinned, and batted my face with her tail. She giggled as my face turned red. “Who knows? If you’re good, and you feel up to it, you might even see more of that, tonight!”
“Well, I’d certainly enjoy that!” I tripped her. She went sprawling. Her high-pitched yelp made me crack up.
“Oh, you’re in for it, now!” Rainbow exclaimed. She lunged at me, but I sidestepped. She crashed into the dirt, again.
However, I didn’t expect her to change direction mid-lunge. “Woah-Oof!” We went down.
We rolled around on the dirt for a few seconds, fake-wrestling. When we finished, we laid there, laughing.
When we’d quieted down, Rainbow stroked my hoof. “I missed hanging out with you.” She admitted.
“Me too.” I replied. “I guess we’ll just have to hang out a lot more often, to make up for it!”
She chuckled. “I can roll with that.” She replied. Then, she gave me a seductive look, and murmured “I know of something else I can roll with, too. Especially in bed.” As my face went red, again, she laughed. “Too easy!”
“Oh, you suck!” I exclaimed jokingly.
“I can do that, too.” She replied.
I hung my head. “I walked right into that one.”
“Yep, you did.”
“Let’s just go home, before I do something even more stupid.”
“Fat chance of that.”
Our teasings and laughter filled the walk to my new house. I couldn’t wait for my life to get a whole lot better. I lived less than a mile away from the best mare in my life, and the town itself looked promising, as well.
Rainbow Dash
Firestar had been in Ponyville for about a year, now. We’d been together a grand total of 13 years. Wow! Talk about taking your time!
We were at Sugarcube Corner’s cafe, enjoying a date. We talked about pretty much anything, really; the Wonderbolts, what’s new, plans, etc..
“Okay,” Firestar began, “you know how, every couple of weeks, I visit Cloudsdale, again?”
“Yeah.” I replied.
“I got back in touch with Windfall. You’ll never guess what she told me.”
“What’d she say?” I asked.
“Remember that party after you got your Cutie Mark? The kiss?”
I chuckled. “Yeah. Heck of a start to a relationship, if you ask me.”
He laughed. “Agreed. And a little over a year later, at your birthday party? The…” His voice dropped to a whisper, “... pre-made Moon Tea packages?”
I giggled. “Yep! And I remember using them, too.”
He blushed. “Yeah, that we did.” We shared a laugh. “Anyways,” he continued, “get this; both of those were orchestrated by none other than our best friend, Windfall!”
I gasped. “No way!” I smiled, chuckling. “Windfall did that? Wow! You’re messing with me!”
“It’s the honest truth!” He laughed. “And that’s not all; she offered to pay for something else, last time I was there.”
I waited for him to tell me. “Um… what?”
He winked. “It’s a secret.”
I faked an annoyed huff. “Fine, then!” I exclaimed, making sure my tone had some playfulness in it (Firestar wasn’t exactly the most socially bright pony, sometimes). “Be that way! Meanie.”
He gave me such a ludicrous, fake look of being offended, that I couldn’t hold it for more than a second. We both collapsed, laughing heartily.
We talked some more. Eventually, we got up to leave. Firestar looked behind me. I turned around in time to catch my friends, the other Elements, standing there. Twilight was winking at him.
I looked at her, confused. She motioned for me to turn around. I did, and found Firestar holding a box. All of a sudden, he was fidgeting around, being really nervous.
“Uh… Fire?” I said. “What’s wrong?”
“What?” He started. “N-Nothing!” He exclaimed. “Nothing’s wrong! In fact, everything’s right. Perfect. Well, almost…”
“...Okay? I’m lost, here.”
He smiled. “Rainbow, we’ve been together for thirteen years. You’re the world, to me. Rainbow… I love you!” He opened the box. A set of hoof-rings were sitting inside. “Will… Will you marry me? Be with me, forever?”
I stared, speechless. I definitely hadn’t been expecting him to propose. Finally, I got my breath back. “I-Y-Yes!” I exclaimed, happy beyond words. “Yes! I will!” I tackled him into a great, big hug, locking right onto his lips.
The kiss itself didn’t last long, as we were in public, but I don’t think we truly broke all physical contact for a long time. Cheers erupted from all around, as we stood back up. They got louder when I put one of the hoof-rings on.
I grinned like a maniac, estatic. I was overjoyed. Truly, I couldn’t believe this was happening. If I was honest with myself, I’d loved Firestar even back before I moved to Ponyville, seven years ago. If he’d asked me then, I’d have had the same answer. Now? I loved him even more. When I said yes, there was absolutely no doubt, in my mind. Firestar is the stallion I wanted to spend my life with. To live with, to grow old with. Maybe even have a family, eventually.
Twilight trotted up. “Congratulations!” She exclaimed.
She wasn’t the only one that did so. I felt like half of Ponyville congratulated me, in the cafe, alone.
As we were walking to Firestar’s house, I (needlessly) helped him put his own hoof-ring on. “I love you.” I told him.
“I love you, too.” He replied. “So much.”
We shared a kiss, and found ourselves at his doorway.
“Goodnight, Rainbow.” He sighed.
I smiled. “Who said anything about me leaving?”
He blinked. “What?” Then, his eyes widened. “Oh!”
I giggled, and snaked a foreleg around him. “Come on, Star! Show me just how much you love me.” I pulled him into the house, with me.
The night soon got very fun.
But, honestly, the best part? It was with Firestar. I loved him, he loved me. We were spending time together (albeit in an extremely enjoyable way). That was the most important part, to me. If you asked him, he’d give you the same answer.
Life just got a bit better.
Chapter 2: Cutie Mark, Growing-Up Talks
"After that,” Rainbow continued, “we started hanging out. We just clicked together. We became the best of friends. We were by each other’s sides almost twenty four-seven. When he got his Cutie Mark, we just shrugged, and continued on with life. Things didn’t seem to change beyond that, though, until I got my Cutie Mark, a year later. After that, there was a… a spiral of events. Really, looking back, I’m surprised I didn’t see it…
I was racing home to tell my dad the great news; I’d gotten my Cutie Mark! A couple blocks away, I crashed into Firestar. “Oof!” We both went down.
“Sorry, Fire!” I apologised.
“You’re fine.” He replied. “It happens.”
“Hey! Guess what?”
“You won?” He exclaimed, happy for me. He’d been stuck finishing a test, so he couldn’t watch the race.
“Well, yeah,” I said, “but not that! I got my Cutie Mark!”
“What!?!” He yelled. I angled so he could see it. “Awesome!”
We hugged. Firestar, being strong - but by no means a hulk, mind you -, picked me up and spun me around.
“Woo-hoo!!” We cheered. When he set me back down, neither of us let go. We just stared at each other, basking in both the joy of the occasion and the comfort of each other’s presence.
After a few seconds of joyful giggling, he realized that he was still holding me. He gasped, and let go. We both turned red. “U-Um, sorry.” He mumbled. Then, he perked back up. “Your Cutie Mark looks awesome!”
“I know, right?” I exclaimed, still recovering from the joyful high I’d gotten when I found the red thunderbolt (outlined in yellow) on my flank.
“Come on!” He said. “Let’s go tell your dad!” We ran off, heading to my house.
Rainbow Blaze
I was relaxing at home, reading, when the doorbell rang incessantly. I got up and opened it, to find the two grinning stars of my life; Rainbow Dash, my daughter, and her closest (by far) friend, Firestar.
“Dad!” Rainbow jumped at me. In reflex, I put up my forehooves, and caught her.
“Oof!” I exclaimed. Rainbow wasn’t as light as she was at birth. “Hey, Rainbow! How’d the race go?”
“I won!” She said hurriedly. “But that’s not the best part. Look!” She flew to the floor, turning sideways.
I gasped, when I saw the thunderbolt adorning the side of her flanks. “You got your Cutie Mark?” I smiled. “That’s my filly, Dash!” We hugged, again. “I’m so proud of you, Rainbow!”
I put Dash down, and up came Firestar, wanting to share in the joy. I gladly accepted him. As far as I was concerned, he was my son, too, in all but blood.
As I sat Firestar down, something occurred to me. “I’ll be right back.” I said. I walked into the kitchen, and rummaged through a certain drawer. Pulling out a piece of paper, I looked at it. After her mother passed, I thought I wouldn’t see this again until she was at least twenty. Ha! She always was a fast little filly. Here she is, only eighteen, and already growing up. I set the paper on the table, and walked back into the living room.
“Rainbow?” I got her attention. “Do you know what comes with getting your Cutie Mark?”
“Uh…” I could almost see the gears in her head turning, “B-Becoming a mare?” She said, hesitantly.
“Yes, but not just that.” I replied. “Things such as… hormones, for example.”
“Oh.” Rainbow said. Then, it clicked, and her face went red. “O-Oh.”
Firestar fidgeted. “Do… Do you want me to leave?” He wasn’t truly uncomfortable, but he knew his maturing friend probably was.
Rainbow gasped. “N-No!” She exclaimed. “You-You can stay.” She said, softly.
Internally, I chuckled. I think I’ve got a good idea of who her first coltfriend might be. Heck, maybe even her only coltfriend. Celestia knows they seem like they’re made for each other. I’ve even discussed it with Firestar’s parents. Rainbow’s already loved by them. Being in a relationship with their son would only mean she’d be even closer to them.
“Um… Okay.” Firestar said, uncertain of whether Rainbow truly realized how embarrassed she was going to be.
I gave them both a pointed look. “I’m not going to hold back, just because he’s in the room.” I warned Rainbow, indirectly warning Firestar, as well.
“I-I know.” She stammered, still red.
“Okay.” I said. Then, I launched into a lecture that had probably been repeated more times than Celestia herself could count, throughout history. “One of the most noticeable things about being a mare, besides the hormones themselves, is heat, and I’m not talking about temperature.”
“Yeah, Dad, we know.” Rainbow replied. “We’ve taken Health.”
“I know, but please, humor me.”
Rainbow sighed. “Hugh! Fine!”
“Thank you.” I smiled, knowing that she didn’t really mean any disrespect; Rainbow was just an impatient little filly, at heart. She wanted things to be done fast, or just avoided, altogether. But this was not the kind of conversation to be rushed. “One month a year, a mare goes into heat. Her sex drive is upped exponentially, and she’s even more fertile than normal. There are very few mares, in all of known history, that have been able to routinely ignore the temptations of heat, for the entirety of their month.”
“Usually,” I continued, “it’ll just be an annoyance. However, every so often, there’ll be a spike, and that’s when most mares lose their inhibitions, temporarily. These spikes usually only last a few seconds at a time, but, in the company of whatever gender the mare prefers, their frequency increases exponentially. The most imminently annoying aspect of heat, however, in our circumstance, is that heat always starts somewhere between a few hours and a couple of days after the mare gains her Cutie Mark, which marks her as a mare, rather than a filly, and actually allows her body to fully grow.”
“Do stallions go in heat?” Rainbow asked.
“No, thank Celestia.” Firestar replied. “Or I’d be- Ehm… nothing.”
Rainbow snorted, amused. “You’d be what? Rutting around town, right now?”
As Firestar stammered, I collapsed onto my chair, laughing heartily. Most parents would be unhappy at their foals for making a joke like that, but I knew Rainbow. She always was the pony that grew up fast, even if some aspects didn’t seem to follow at the same rate.
I looked past the comedy-induced tears in my eyes to see Rainbow suffering a similar fate.
Firestar finally settled for a “K-Kind of.” After watching us laugh uncontrollably for a few seconds, a grin slowly formed on his face. He began chuckling, then laughing, then outright losing it, along with us. This only prolonged the moment.
Eventually, we all settled down. “Rainbow?” I got her attention. “In the kitchen, there’s a guide to making a special kind of tea. I’d suggest you make a few batches of it.”
“Me?” She asked. “Why me? I don’t know a thing about making tea.”
“The guide is very easy to follow, Rainbow. I’ve made it, myself, back when your mother was alive, and merely away from home.” The mention of Rainbow mother, who’d passed away when Rainbow was only five, sobered up whatever laughter still remained. Though Rainbow hadn’t known her mother long, she couldn’t have loved her more.
“O-Okay.” She said quietly, and walked into the kitchen. The door shut behind her.
I turned to Firestar. “I’ll explain this to her later,” I began, “but I might as well tell you about it now. It’s called Moon Tea. It suppresses the spikes to a much more manageable level. She’ll probably still get some big ones, but not nearly as often.”
“I’ll keep her out of trouble.” He replied.
I smiled. “I know. But what if she targets you?”
He blushed. “M-Me? Why me?”
“Technically, you’re not related to her. You’re the closest friend she has, and you’re a stallion. If she’s attracted to stallions - which I know for a fact she is -, she’ll probably try to pounce you, at least a couple times.”
“P-Pounce? U-Um… Wow.” He murmured, his embarrassment at mortification levels. If his face got any redder, the tomato companies of Equestria would have to swab him to get such a deep shade of red.
Over the years I’d known him, Firestar had been embarrassed in front of me loads of times. He stammered occasionally, even calm. Embarrass him, and it’s even more often. However, considering how he stumbled over almost every word, here, I was starting to suspect he might feel something for Rainbow. He and Rainbow were only a year apart, with him being the older of the two. A single year isn’t much of a gap, whence you’re a grown pony.
“You like her, don’t you?” I asked him.
He flinched. “Y-Yeah.”
I patted him on the shoulder. “I’m not actually against it.” I told him.
“W-What?” He asked in disbelief.
“You two have been best friends for years. I know you both care for each other. You wouldn’t do anything to hurt her, and I know that you’re genuine in your feelings for her. Really, I couldn’t ask for a better stallionfriend, for her.”
“Although,” I added, “as her father, I feel I must add - though I’m certain you’d never do anything like that - that, if you hurt her, you will never see the light of day, again. When it comes to Rainbow, I’m not afraid of going to prison.”
He gulped. “Y-Yes, sir!”
I patted his shoulder, again. “Relax, Fire. I know you. You’d never do anything to hurt her.”
I decided that, if the two of them ever got together, let it not be said that I didn’t help them along. I actually gave Firestar a few tips on wooing mares, and things he could do to fluster Rainbow. In addition to being amused at others’ behaviors when they’re flustered, Rainbow, after enough times being flustered by him, might even develop feelings for Firestar, herself.

“By the way,” Rainbow said, “what are all you girls’ views on… uh, what did Firestar call it…? Pre-marital sex.”
Applejack, who’d been taking a sip of apple cider at the time, started choking. Twilight patted her back, helping Applejack get the fluid out of her lungs.
“W-Well, um…” Rarity exclaimed, her face as red as everypony else’s (including Rainbow’s), “I… I don’t see that much of a problem with it, as long as it’s… as long as certain precautions are taken.”
“I’d have to agree with Rarity, there.” Twilight said.
“I’ve got not problem with others doin’ it,” Applejack replied, “but Ah, mahself, won’t.”
The rest of the girls all agreed with them. Fluttershy, already knowing why Rainbow had asked, merely blushed.
Rainbow chuckled nervously. “Well, good.” She said. “‘Cuz, um… well, me and Firestar… well, we’re not exactly ‘inexperienced’ with each other, I guess you could say.”
Twilight chuckled at the wording.
Rarity gasped. “Rainbow! A lady does not share things like that!”
Rainbow shrugged. “I guess I’m not much of a lady, then.” She replied, getting up. “But, anyways, if any of you want to hear the story, I’ll be in the back.” She walked into said room, and sat down in another chair.
Twilight entered, followed by Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie.
“You were there for some of it, Fluttershy.” Rainbow remarked. “You want to hear it, again?”
Fluttershy shrugged. “I guess.” She replied.
“Oh, by the way, who’s your stallion?” Twilight said suddenly, remembering that Fluttershy had also raised her hoof, during the mostly-forgotten, makeshift-poll.
Fluttershy blushed, and cast a quick glance behind her, where Rarity and Applejack had apparently opted to stay, and not hear Rainbow’s potentially-explicit story. “B-Big Macintosh.” She stammered out.
Rainbow grinned. “No way!” She exclaimed. “You two are perfect! How’d it happen?”
Fluttershy, too embarrassed to answer, just squeaked.
Rainbow laughed. “Okay, we’ll get back to you, there. You girls came here to hear what led up to me and Firestar having sex, right?”
“Well, I wouldn’t put it that bluntly,” Twilight replied, “but yes.”
“Okay.” Rainbow said. “Well, a few different things went into it, so I’ll try to cover them all…”
Firestar
Rainbow and I had been happily married for about ten years. We’d had our trials, but we barreled through every one of them, together. We’d had our joyful moments, and they’d been made better by being around each other, sharing the moments, together. We’d had our accomplishments, and we’d celebrated them, together. Speaking of accomplishments...
“Daddy!” A filly’s voice shouted. I blinked from my reminiscing, and saw a little, rainbow-streaked pegasus filly running out of the school, and into my waiting forehooves.
I picked her up and spun her around. “That’s my filly!” I said joyfully.
Spectrum, Rainbow and I’s daughter, giggled, and accepted the hug. “Whee!” She exclaimed, upon being spun.
“So,” I began, “how’d it go?”
“How did what go?” Spectrum asked, smirking. She was playing with me.
I smiled. “How did the ‘worst test in the history of Equestria’ go? Did you pass?”
She smiled so wide, her face almost seemed to split in two. “I got an A!”
“Whoo hoo !” I cheered her. “Great job, Spectrum! You make Mom and I proud!” I picked her up. “Come on. Let’s go home; Mom’s waiting for us. I hear she’s making your favorite dish…” I teased, trailing off.
Spectrum gasped. “Really? No way! Awesome!”
I chuckled. “Hold on tight!” I took off. Spectrum was cheering and giggling the whole way home.
I smiled, content. I’m happily married to the mare of my life and dreams, and we’ve got a smart, beautiful, joyful filly. What could be better?
Author's Note
I feel like the epilogue's too short, but I can't think of much I could put in.
Ha! I meant for this to be a short story, and here I am, complaining that I think it's too short.
There is so much irony, here.
Eh, if you all like it, then I've accomplished one of the main reasons for this story's existence.
