At the edge of equestria in the badlands was a cave where a very sick former enemy to equestria was hiding writing a letter. Specifically queen chrysalis. Chrysalis is currently on the floor writing a letter to whoever finds it and the contests she has in the basket she has with her.
-Dear to whoever finds this-
-My name is queen chrysalis. You mostly know me as the queen that nearly took over equestria capital. The heartless tyrant that can take down celestia. A colossal bitch. I've heard it all. I don't blame you for hating me. But please understand that my people were in serious danger of starvation. We have been hiding for decades thing to keep our race alive while still staying hidden.-
-Before the invasion we were reaching the worst love storage we have ever had and the only place we could turn to that had enough love to keep our race alive was equestria. I had originally planned for a peaceful negotiations and request help. But I had some of my spies bring back some books on equestria history.-
-For a very long time unicorns, Pegasuses, and earth ponies were extremely racist to each one another for an unprecedented amount of time. It was ridiculous how cruel you were all to each other and that was only on small difference like a horns and wings.-
-If it took over a hundred years for that racism to resolve. So how long do you think it would take changelings to be accepted enough by ponies to actually help us. Even I admit our appearance alone is intimidating not to mention our ability to take shape. I was not going to wait over a century and watch my changeling starve to death just because of your country bigotry.-
-So I had to act for the sake of my people. I used my family old skill of master manipulation and countless hours about of strategy to make the perfect plan to take over the capital. It was just so pose to go in and capture everypony and use our love contaminate crystals until we had enough for use be sustained for about few years. Luckily there was so much love at the capitol we had enough love for decade.-
-That is until twilight sparkle got cadence free and they used that magic spell that killed 75% of the race and unknowingly given me the worst disease that queens can ever hope to receive. LRD also know as love rejection disorder. Whenever I ingest love it course unbearable pain to my whole body and it only gets worse with the more love I eat. It basically making my only food source turn to poison for me.-
-Only got noticeable about a few weeks ago and I was past the point of no return. I am currently dying and I have 2 weeks at best before this disease finally kills me. But I am getting of track.-
-After a nearly survived getting throwback to the badlands I made it back to my hive barely. After my wounds were healed and back at the thrown I was looked upon as a failure as queen to my remaining citizens. After when we had the funeral of all the dead soldiers all my citizens decided to leave with what remained of their families and find new places to call home.-
-I did not stop them. I didn't even try because I knew they were right. I couldn't save the hive so I thought they would be better off without me. But even then I was wrong.-
-before I continue any further I have to explain 1 biology tool that all changelings have. It's called the hive mind. Basically all changelings can communicate with each other without actually talking if they choose. When you concentrate in certain way we can communicate with each other with telepathically no matter how far away. While changeling drones and citizens can just talk to each other queens can actually sense when they are alive and dead. Think of it like a bunch of candles in room and and you can feel the warm feeling from each candle. The more the changelings the better it feels.-
-however when dies it feels like a candle burned out and it feels cold. So the more candles Burnt out the worse it feels. Right now all the candles are burnt out except for 1. My daughter Ruby Chrysalis. Because she was too young to be in the hive mind yet or even understand what happened at the time. As the years went on I had to eventually leave my home and search for love for me and my daughter myself.-
-As we searched I noticed something was happening. I noticed that more and more changelings were dying at an alarming rate. As time went on I then started to feel like being watched. I then came to the realization that the changelings were being hunted. Currently now my daughter is filly and I will not be around to take care of her.-
-I am going to equestria to find a loving family to take care of her. She is will be in a basket filled with a reusable love crystal to keep her alive for about a month along with a book I wrote myself that explains how to properly raise her and explain how the crystal works. It also has her favorite toy foam sword she cherishes. I also have a framed loving picture of me and her to let her remember where she came from and to always remember her mother loves her very much.-
-I may have failed at every turn but at least this way I can finally do something right. To whoever finds this note. Please find my daughter a new home that love her for who she is. Ruby if you're reading this I just want you to know that I've made a lot of mistakes in my life but always know 1 thing your mom has done everything to make sure you have a good life and always remember mom loves you. My little soldier.-

After she finished with the letter she put a seal on it and tucked it in the basket where her daughter was sleeping. She was also a an exact look alike to chrysalis with a few differences. Her most noticeable difference being that her mans and tail was a blood red. Her eyes were not like drones eye but were similar to chrysalis’s but it was red instead of green. All changeling queen offspring’s mane and tail never have the same color as their parents.
The last difference was that she only had the holes in her legs on her front legs somehow the back are completely sold. You might think that having holes in your leg as disadvantage but it can be used to help disarm an enemy or catching arrow before it gets you in the knee or something.
Anyway she may be different compared to other changelings but she is still my daughter and I wouldn't trade her for the world. While I was stuffing the note in the basket I accidentally woke her up.
“Oh sorry sweetie I'm just organizing the basket.”
“It's ok mom. Oh hey can I ask you a question?”
“Sure sweetie.”
“When are we going home ?”
I sighed “Sweetie you know we've talked about this. It's too dangerous to go home.”
“Mom stop babying me I know I can take on anyone who gets in our way.”
She then picks up her foam sword in her magic and starts swinging it around.
"I will protect you until the very end my mom slash queen.
"I know you want to sweetie but your not trained or old enough yet. But don't worry you will be strong enough soon. Besides your mom is tougher then she looks."
Before ruby can respond chrysalis then put her daughter in tight hug.
“Mom let me go !”
“Oh no my little soldier I'm not letting you go unless you surrender.”
“I will never surrender ! I will fight till my last breath!”
We both played for a little while until I tired her down.
“Alright that's enough play time you need your sleep my little soldier.”
“Awwww come on just a little longer.”
"sorry my little solider but you need your rest"
I then pick her up with my hooves and place her gently in the basket. I then put the blanket from the basket around her and tuck her in. It may not be the most comfortable place but she says she doesn't mind. "That's my tough little solider."
“I love you Ruby.”
"I love you too mom. Your the best mom ever."
I then kissed her on the forehead.
“Have sweet dreams my little soldier.”
I then wait until she falls asleep and then I find a place on the cave to lay down and rest.
'I'm sorry I can't be around to watch you grow up ruby but I will find you a loving home and family to take care of you if it that last thing I do. I just hope you will remember that I will always be my little soldier.'
I then drift off into sleep.
