Scootaloo

Rainbow Dash was quietly flying around Ponyville one fine, Summer day, when she saw an orange filly under a tree. Rainbow flew towards the tree and as she got closer she realized it was Scootaloo. Rainbow Dash opened her mouth to say hi as she landed near Scoots, but then quickly closed it and rushed to the pegasus' side. The cyan pegasus saw that the filly had bruises and was bleeding, her wings had been crushed. Rainbow laid down next to the filly and carefully put Scootaloo on her back, then she headed towards the hospital.

Rainbow was glad that her friend was sleeping, she couldn't stand that the orange pegasus was badly hurt. As Rainbow entered the hospital, she rushed up to nurse Redheart. "I found Scootaloo, she's hurt badly." Dash said with tears in her eyes as the nurse looked towards the filly.

"Follow me Miss Dash." the nurse said as she led the cyan mare towards a room. Rainbow Dash carefully laid Scootaloo down on the bed and watched her with concern. "Do you know what happened?" Nurse Redheart asked as she began to bandage Scootaloo's wounds.

"No, I found her under a tree." Rainbow replied as she gently touched Scootaloo's hoof, "Will she be okay?"

"Physically she will heal, but beatings can scar anypony mentally." Nurse Redheart replied, "I will have a word with her parents."

"We have to catch whoever did this to Scoots." Dash said as she watched over Scootaloo protectively.

"We will catch them, but for now we need to focus on Scootaloo." the nurse said as she finished tending to the filly.

"Thank you." Rainbow Dash replied as she gently covered Scootaloo up and waited for the orange filly to wake up. Rainbow was furious that anypony would hurt someone as awesome as Scootaloo.

Rainbow spent hours at the filly's side, wishing she had been able to protect the filly. She looked at Scootaloo as the her friends ran in with Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom. "WHAT HAPPENED!?" Sweetie Belle shouted as she ran to her friend.

"Sweetie Belle." Rarity quickly grabbed her little sister, "Be quiet, Scootaloo needs her rest."Rarity sighed as she hugged her sister, "We mustn't be loud, if she is to heal then Scootaloo will need peace."

"Rainbow, how are you holding up?" Twilight asked her friend as she approached the bed that Rainbow was next to.

"I should have been there, I should have been protecting her." Rainbow looked to Twilight Sparkle with tears streaming down her cheeks. "Scootaloo is a good filly, she doesn't deserve this."

Twilight hugged the cyan pegasus tightly ans sighed softly. "I know, Rainbow we will find out who did this." Twilight pulled away, "After Nurse Redheart talked to us and Scootaloo's parents I immediately contacted Princess Celestia and Princess Luna on the matter."

There was a small whimper coming from the bed, Rainbow looked to Scootaloo and sighed with relief as the filly started to wake up. "Hey there squirt." Rainbow wiped away her tears as the filly slowly opened her eyes.

"H-Hey..." Scootaloo said softly as her idol gently touched her hoof.

"Scoots, how are you feeling?" Rainbow asked her.

"Tired, and everything hurts." Scootaloo replied with tears in her eyes. She was scared, terrified, Rainbow knew this and felt her heart sink.

"When you get better, how about I take you for a flight." Rainbow suggested with a smile, "Maybe we can get you flying by next year."

Scootaloo smiled, "That would be twenty percent cooler." Scootaloo said and the two ponies shared a laugh. Applebloom and Sweetie Belle approached their friend and smiled at her.

"Don't worry Scoots, I heard they have a library." Sweetie Belle said with a smile.

"But reading is for eggheads like Twilight." Scootaloo pouted and Rainbow laughed.

"That is exactly what I said, and I think you'll love a book I've read called Daring Do."

"I am not an egghead, I'm well read." Twilight sighed, "Scootaloo, who did this to you?"

"I...don't want to talk about it..." Scootaloo mumbled as tears filled her eyes. Rainbow gently laid down on the bed and enveloped Scootaloo in her wings.

"You're safe now Scoots, nopony will harm you again." Rainbow smiled at the orange filly, "Get some rest little buddy, I'm right here."

"Thanks Rainbow Dash." Scootaloo said as she snuggled closer to the mare. Rainbow yawned softly and soon the two ponies were fast asleep.

"Rarity, where are Scootaloo's parents?" Sweetie Belle asked, "Shouldn't they be holding Scootaloo instead of Rainbow?"

Rarity frowned as she gently stroked Sweetie Belle's head, "I don't know, they should be here with her." The unicorn sighed as she headed towards the door, "Come on Sweetie Belle, we need to let them rest."

"Okay." Sweetie Belle ran after her sister.

"You too, Applebloom." Applejack gently touched her little sister's back, "It'll be okay." The filly nodded as she too followed her big sister out the door. Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Twilight Sparkle followed soon after so Rainbow and Scootaloo had some peace. It had been a long day for both of them, they both needed to rest.

The next day Rainbow Dash was flying around Ponyville, she had told Scootaloo that she'd be back after she ran a few errands. Rainbow headed towards a store with the newest scooter and bought it for the orange filly, then she gift wrapped it and headed back to the hospital. "Scootaloo's parents left with her." Nurse Redheart said as Dash entered the hospital. The nurse approached the mare with a worried expression, "I advised them that she needed to rest here, but they insisted that she left with them."

"Thank you Nurse Redheart." Rainbow smiled as she flew off to visit Scootaloo. When Rainbow reached the house she trotted up to it and was about to knock when she heard a scream coming from inside. The cyan pegasus put down the scooter and opened the door, then sheflew in to see the orange filly's parents beating her. Rainbow furiously flew over to Scootaloo and picked her up, then she quickly flew out of the house with the orange filly in her hooves. Rainbow took the filly back to the hospital and flew up to Nurse Redheart. "I saw her parents beating on her, she screamed so I busted in."

"Let's get her to a room." Nurse Redheart said as she led Rainbow Dash to a room and grabbed some bandages and ice packs. Rainbow carefully laid the filly down on the bed and touched her hoof. "I'm going to speak to Twilight, Scoots will you be okay alone?"

"F-For how long?" Scootaloo whimpered as she reached for her idol.

Rainbow Dash carefully pulled Scootaloo into a careful hug and held her close. "Not long, I just want to speak to Twilight about this." The cyan pegasus looked to the nurse, "Is it okay if you don't let anypony in besides me and my friends?"

"I won't, I'll be checking on the filly every so often anyways." Nurse Redheart replied as she tended to Scootaloo.

"Scoots, I'll be back soon." Rainbow Dash said softly as she laid Scootaloo back down and flew off as quickly as she could. When she got to Twilight's castle, she saw Princess Celestia and Princess Luna speaking to Twilight. "Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, this is an emergency." Rainbow said as she landed near them, "I saw Scootaloo's parents beating her."

"H-How is she?" Twilight asked with worry, "Rainbow, don't panic."

"TWILIGHT SHE'S IN THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE OF HER PARENTS, OF COURSE I'M GOING TO PANIC!" Rainbow felt scared, angry, and worried all at the same time. "Her parents should have been there for her, not hurting her." The cyan pegasus looked to the three princesses, unsure of what to do.

"Rainbow Dash, we will handle this, go be with Scootaloo." Celestia replied, "She needs you right now."

"Thank you Princesses, oh and Twilight, the new Daring Do book is out." Rainbow then flew off quickly and the princesses witnessed a sonic rainboom, the pegasus had promised to be by Scootaloo's side quickly and wanted to keep that promise. As she arrived at the hospital, Rainbow slowed down and landed at the doors. She opened the hospital doors and ran in to see the filly, she wanted to be there to protect her this time.

Rainbow slowed down to a trot as she came up to the filly's room, then she opened the door and went inside. Scootaloo was sitting up, crying, she looked to Rainbow as the cyan pegasus entered the room. "Scootaloo, lay down." Rainbow softly told her friend, "I'm here, the princesses were there so it shouldn't be long until they handle this."

"R-Rainbow, I'm scared." Scootaloo whimpered as her idol approached the bed and climbed in next to her.

"Don't be, I'm right here little buddy." Rainbow Dash replied as she wrapped her wings around Scootaloo carefully, "Go to sleep, it'll help you heal." Scootaloo looked up at Rainbow and began to relax, then she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. Rainbow Dash smiled softly st the filly and stayed up all night, making sure Scootaloo wasn't bothered or in pain.
