The Foalby Sparrow9642ChaptersPrologue: The BirthConfessionsAn Unique WeddingAdoptionPrologue: The BirthScreaming echoed throughout Ponyville Hospital, as a bed strolled through the halls of the nursery. The young female seated in the bed was unknown, but identities were not always important to the doctors and nurses, only the patient themselves. She was pregnant, but also was in critical condition with severe injures around her stomach area, close to where her young foal was slowly making its way into her birth canal. She was bleeding terribly from the injuries she had caused herself, seeing she had attempted to kill the foal. The reason why she attempted such a horrid act was unknown. Nurse Redheart stood on the side of the hospital bed, trying to keep the mare sedated and strapping her limbs down, preventing her from trying to kill the foal. She was screaming over and over, "KILL IT! YOU MUST KILL IT! DON'T LET IT LIVE!" It was completely against the hospital staff to kill an unborn foal, due to abortion being illegal in Ponyville and the fact that the foal had already moved to the birth canal. The foal would be born soon, and there was no stopping it. The young mare tried to fight out of the straps holding her limbs, but with one shot of anesthesia through her IV, she was put to sleep within seconds. The nurses were relieved, and proceeded to getting the foal out carefully, rolling the bed into a room. Depending on the position of the young foal, the nurses could carefully pull the foal out, or perform a C section if the foal was still too far in the birth canal. Nurse Redheart took a look inside the birth canal to determine their next motive. It was hard to see within the birth canal, so Nurse Redheart resorted to her flashlight, grabbing it from her pocket. She clicked the flashlight on, gripping it between her rows of teeth and shined it within the birth canal, immediately noticing the foal's head about six inches within the birth canal. Nurse Redheart clicked off the flashlight, and stuck it back in her pocket. "How's it looking?" asked the other nurse. "It's within reach," replied Nurse Redheart. "About six inches from the opening." "So, are we going to try and pull it out?" asked the nurse. Nurse Redheart wasn't sure what to do. She could try to pull the foal out, but she didn't comfortable with it at the same time. "Get Dr. Redcross in here, because I'm not sure whether or not to go ahead with the procedure, and I definitely do not want to try and persuade the mother to push," she said. The assistant nurse agreed, and trotted out of the room. Nurse Redheart remained in the room, watching the foal within the birth canal carefully. The foal remained in the same position, not even budging, and usually a foal would be crying. Nurse Redheart had begun to wonder if the foal has sustained one of the injuries the mother had done to herself. Panic settled in, as she pulled out her flashlight again and looked at the foal closer, not hoping to see any wounds. The only visible part of the foal was the head, so Nurse Redheart was unable to see any sort of injury. The only way to tell if the foal had been injured, was to get it out, however she had no idea what to do. She didn't have to wait long, as the assistant nurse returned with Dr. Redcross, just as she had asked. "What's the issue?" asked the doctor. "We've got an unborn foal in the birth canal," replied Nurse Redheart. "We had to sedate the mother, and I'm not sure to proceed to pulling the foal out or a C section." "What's the foal's position, Redheart?" he asked. "About six inches from the opening," she replied. "What do you propose we do?" The doctor thought for a moment, then proceeded to his decision. "Let's give the mother some muscle relaxers, then the foal will be able to move to a safer position," he concluded. The assistant nurse didn't need to be asked, and rushed out of the room to find some muscle relaxers. The assistant nurse returned within three minutes with the muscle relaxers, and gave them to Nurse Redheart. She didn't waste anytime, and gave the unknown mare the vaccine of the muscle relaxer. The medicine didn't take long to take effect, as the foal slid forward in the birth canal, due to the muscles retracting. Once the foal was visible at the opening, Nurse Redheart carefully extracted the foal. She checked the small foal for any injury, and fortunately didn't spot any. Nurse Redheart was hoping to hear a cry, but the young foal was silent. She checked to make sure it was breathing, and was relieved when she heard the foal's lungs functioning normally. She handed the foal to the doctor, and smiled as the foal was carried out of the room to the nursery. "It's strange," said the assistant nurse. "What's strange?" replied Nurse Redheart. "Most foals cry at birth, but that foal was silent." "I'm aware, but it's heart rate and breathing was normal. Maybe it's a unique foal?" "I'm not sure, but I don't know. Something about it gives me the chills." "It's just late, you're probably exhausted. Now, come on. We need to get the mother's wounds disinfected and stitched up." The assistant nurse faked a smile, as she felt an unexpected fear come over her. Was the mother correct about the foal? Even though she didn't show it, Nurse Redheart felt the same way, as she grabbed her medical kit to cleanse the wounds on the young mare. ConfessionsThe sun shined bright, and the wind blew slow as Twilight made her way out of her castle. She was feeling slightly nervous, feeling her hooves start to shake, as she took a deep breath. Today, she had to meet up with Rainbow Dash in Ponyville Center, so she could continue her weekly flying lessons with the bold pegasus. She had been doing these lessons with Rainbow for the past four weeks, and surprisingly, Twilight had progressed in her flying skills tremendously. Over the past weeks though, Twilight had also developed a special feeling for the pegasus as well. One she thought she'd never feel for Rainbow Dash, due to them being different in so many ways. At first, Twilight thought of Rainbow only as her friend, but whenever Rainbow adjusted her wings or touched her in any way during the lessons, Twilight would start to feel strange. Her limbs would weaken, she'd start to blush, and her heart rate would start to speed up. Rainbow had caught her a few times, and as usual, would ask if Twilight was okay. Twilight would lie with a simple excuse, when she knew that she was having a reaction to Rainbow touching her, and it made her feel relaxed, yet uncomfortable at the same time. It was a feeling she liked, and would even get an urge to do things to Rainbow Dash that she knew was crossing the line. The lessons were helpful, but she knew that one of these times she would go too far. Just the thought of it made her lick her lips. "Hold it together!" exclaimed Twilight, talking to herself. "This is just a phase! I can't possibly have "feelings" for Rainbow!" She lowered her voice, double-guessing herself. "Can I?" She shook her head, trying to remain focused. She spread her wings and flew slowly toward Ponyville Center, feeling a struggle within her mind. Twilight arrived above Ponyville Center, and slowly descended to the ground, planting all four hooves along the soft ground. She folded her wings, and placed them back into their normal position, as she scouted the area for Rainbow Dash. Rainbow was nowhere to be found, which didn't surprise Twilight one bit, due to Rainbow being late for the past two weeks. She decided to think about things while waiting for the pegasus to arrive in Ponyville Center. She thought about how she was going to control herself if there was any physical contact between her and Rainbow. Rainbow had caught her six times, and she knew that Rainbow would eventually question her, wanting to know the real reason behind Twilight's behavior. The way she acted wasn't something she could control, because it would happen naturally, as if it were a natural reaction. Somehow, she'd have to control it, otherwise she'd have to explain herself to Rainbow. Twilight's thoughts were interrupted, as she felt two taps on her head. "Hello! Anypony home?!" yelled the voice. Twilight looked up, noticing Rainbow Dash flying just above her. Twilight expressed a dumb look, as she closed her thoughts. "Sorry, Rainbow," said Twilight. "I was just thinking of something." "You're always thinking of something in that head of yours," replied Rainbow. "Hehe. Yeah," mumbled Twilight. "Well, are you ready?" asked Rainbow. "Sure," replied Twilight, spreading her wings. "Alright, let's go!" said Rainbow, flying off at a slow pace, so Twilight could keep up. Twilight flapped her wings evenly, until she was next to Rainbow. Rainbow gave Twilight a smile, blown away at how well she had gotten at flying. "Okay, now we're going to turn up the ante a little bit," said Rainbow. Twilight started to get nervous, noticing Rainbow's wings start to flap faster. "Do you really think I'm ready for that?" asked Twilight. "Seeing how well you're doing now, I think you're ready," replied Rainbow. "What do you want me to do?" asked Twilight. "Well, I want you increase your speed, replied Rainbow. "To increase your speed, just carefully increase your flapping pace while keeping it even. You can do it, Twilight!" Rainbow's encouragement gave Twilight confidence, as she slowly started to increase her flapping speed. At first, Twilight wasn't having trouble, until the pace started to feel uneven. Twilight immediately started to panic. "Rainbow, I'm not feeling so good," said Twilight. "The feeling you're experiencing is normal, Twilight," replied Rainbow. "Just slowly increase your flapping speed, and it'll even out. Trust me." Twilight calmed herself, and slowly increased the speed more and more, until it became even again. Twilight was overwhelmed, as she felt her speed increase. "Woohoo!" exclaimed Twilight, as she flew through the sky. Rainbow met up with her and gave her a smile. "Alright, Twilight," said Rainbow. "Now, focus on slowing down by doing the process backwards." This was the hardest part of the lessons, and the one part Twilight didn't like about flying. She ignored her thoughts and focused on slowing down, noticing they were close to Rainbow's home. She started slowing down her flapping speed to where it was originally, feeling the uneven pace once more. She just remembered what Rainbow said, and slowly flapped back to where her pace was even. Once she was back at her normal speed, she proceeded to landing, as she descended on the cloud platform of Rainbow's Cloudominium. She folded her wings back to the sides of her body, immediately starting feel an ache in her wings. She unfolded them again, as Rainbow landed next to her. "You okay, Twilight?" asked Rainbow. "My wings hurt," replied Twilight. "I can't fold them up." Rainbow recognized Twilight's pain. "You're fine, Twilight," said Rainbow. "It's because your wings aren't used to flying fast. Once you get used to it, that pain will disappear." "Makes sense," she replied with a painful groan. Rainbow knew a way to soothe Twilight's aching wings. "Hang on, Twilight," said Rainbow. "I've got just the thing for the pain." Twilight immediately protested, not wanting any sort of physical contact with Rainbow. "I'll be okay, Rainbow," said Twilight, trying to hide a painful grin. "Yeah right," said Rainbow. "I can tell your lying, Twilight." Twilight couldn't argue with Rainbow, and panicked as Rainbow dashed into her home. "Well, Twilight," she said to herself. "Now, the really challenge begins." Rainbow returned with a tube of some sort of ointment, and approached Twilight. "Hold still, Twilight," said Rainbow. "I'm going to apply some of this to the base of your wings." Twilight started to shake, as Rainbow squeezed out some of the ointment on one of her hooves, and approached Twilight's right wing. Rainbow gently rubbed her hoof against the base of Twilight's wing, immediately causing Twilight to quiver from the feeling of Rainbow touching her. The cream was cool, numbing the base of her wing, but Twilight started to feel her body collapse. It was the same feeling as before, and Rainbow started to notice Twilight's reaction. "I'm barely touching you, Twilight," said Rainbow. "Are you feeling okay?" Twilight had been caught again, and proceeded to answering with the same lie. "I'm fine," lied Twilight. "Ok, but you've been acting very strange lately," claimed Rainbow, moving to her left wing. Rainbow squeezed out more of the ointment, and started to rub the base of Twilight's left wing, immediately increasing the feeling in Twilight's body. The feeling increased more and more, as Rainbow continued to rub the base of the wing. Twilight's heart rate increased, along with her breathing. She had even started to let out small moans, which Rainbow immediately caught. Rainbow had even noticed Twilight's tail starting to rise, and her body collapsing. To test her theory, she didn't question Twilight and just continued the rubbing. The moans from Twilight increased, as she blushed, starting to feel strange. It wasn't much longer, until she felt her rear leak a liquid of some sort, and at that moment she knew Rainbow had caught her. "You've caught me," confessed Twilight. "I can't hide it anymore. I didn't want to believe it, but I think that I've fallen in love with you, Rainbow." Twilight was expecting Rainbow to be shocked, but was surprised, as Rainbow kissed her passionately. At first, Twilight was surprised, but she didn't retract, as the two lovers made their way into Rainbow's home, into the bedroom continuing to hold each other close, not pulling away. They kept they lips locked, collapsing on Rainbow's bed, both breathing heavily and rubbing their hooves through each other's manes. They didn't know what to think of this unexpected romance, only that they had both loved each other for so long. Rainbow broke away from Twilight's lips, and said something that made Twilight feel as if a ton of weight had been lifted from her. "I've loved you since the first day I crashed into you, Twilight. I was scared to admit it myself, but now that I know you love me, we can forget our doubts, and be together." Twilight smiled, as Rainbow Dash locked her lips with hers again, and the two made love with each other, now knowing they were meant to be. An Unique WeddingAfter confessing their feelings, Rainbow Dash and Twilight proceeded to the next step in their lives, seeing it was clear that they were meant to be. The two loved each other dearly, and proceeded to scheduling a wedding as soon as possible. Same sex marriage was legal in Ponyville and Canterlot, so they had no worries, even though some ponies thought otherwise. Rainbow and Twilight could care less what others thought, because their love was true, and just as the saying goes, true love cannot be stopped. There was still one task Twilight and Rainbow had to do, and it could end either good or bad. They had to tell the rest of their friends the big news, and give each of them their invites to the wedding. The couple had organized a meeting in Sugarcube Corner as a way to tell Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie, and Applejack the big news. Only Celestia knew what the outcome would be, and if the others would accept the couple's love for each other. The day came, as Twilight got ready, combing her mane so it didn't look like a mess. Rainbow was still sleeping after a long night of making love with her beloved Twilight once more. Her snoring made Twilight laugh, as she sat down the brush, and walked out of the bathroom. Twilight walked over to Rainbow's side of the bed, and gave her a gentle kiss on the lips, causing Rainbow to giggle. "Morning, sleepyhead," said Twilight in a playful tone. "Morning, egghead," replied Rainbow in a low voice, as she stretched her limbs. "How did you sleep?" "Just fine," said Twilight. "How was last night?" asked Rainbow, referring to their love making. "Last night was wonderful, Rainbow," replied Twilight. "Three hours of heaven." Rainbow giggled. "You were great as well, especially in the third hour," said Rainbow. "Did you think I was going to be easy on you?" replied Twilight. "Nah, I was just a bit surprised, seeing I don't strike you as the sexual type." "You'd be surprised what an egghead is capable of." Rainbow landed a small kiss on Twilight's lips, then pulled the covers off of her. "Enough talk," said Twilight. "You need to get ready. We've got to meet up with the others at Sugarcube Corner." "Oh. I totally forgot," said Rainbow, as she dashed into the bathroom. Twilight just giggled, then made her way out of the bedroom, into the kitchen. Spike had made pancakes for the two lovers, and was standing next to the oven. He looked at Twilight, noticing a look of doubt on her face. Spike was the only one who knew of Rainbow and Twilight's relationship, and he agreed with it, seeing he only wanted Twilight to be happy. Twilight had told him all about it the day she finally confessed her feelings to Rainbow, and his reaction was only a smile and thumbs up. "Twilight, you feeling okay?" asked Spike. "I'm just worried," Twilight replied. "What if they don't agree with it?" Spike had been around Twilight for a long time, and knew just how to fix the issue. "Twilight, they're your friends," assured Spike. "They'll understand. True friends will accept anything, no matter how shocking it may be." Twilight gave the dragon a smile, then sat down at the table, chomping down on some of the pancakes Spike had prepared. Ten minutes later, Rainbow joined the young dragon and Twilight, immediately noticing the tower of pancakes. Her eyes bulged from the amount of pancakes the dragon had prepared, and she had even started to pant like a dog. Twilight noticed Rainbow, and spoke before the pegasus could do anything. "Don't even think about it," spoke Twilight. "Grab some, and eat a DECENT amount." Spike objected to Twilight's words. "Do you seriously think that I wasn't aware of Rainbow's appetite?" claimed Spike. "That's why there's a pile of wobbling pancakes, Twilight." "Fine, but please eat a decent amount, Rainbow," said Twilight. "Alright, Twilight," said Rainbow, as she chomped down a total of six pancakes. Rainbow was quick, which didn't surprise Twilight, as she continued to eat her plate of three pancakes normally. After breakfast, Twilight and Rainbow set out for Sugarcube Corner. Both were nervous, yet confident at the same time, because even if they didn't tell the others about the marriage, they'd find out anyways. Weddings were special occasions throughout Equestria, never kept secret. Posters would be hung, the wedding would be held in an open area, and of course, gossip would spread like a virus. Rarity would probably be the first to find out, seeing she was very social with high-class ponies. The two arrived just outside of Sugarcube Corner within moments, seeing Twilight's castle wasn't far from the location. It was literally only a five minute walk from the castle to Sugarcube Corner, which normally wouldn't be a problem, but as nervous as the two were, it seemed as if a ton of weight was on their shoulders. The couple took deep breaths and held hooves, opening the door to Sugarcube Corner, the small bell above the door ringing. Inside, their friends sat at a nearby table talking about some random gossip. Pinkie was the first to see them, expressing a smile. "They're here!" Pinkie yelled, alerting the others. The rest of the group turned to face Twilight and Rainbow, noticing the two closer than usual. Twilight and Rainbow were froze in place. "Well, don't be strangers," said Rarity. "Come sit. You said you had something to announce." Twilight and Rainbow didn't want to move, but somehow managed to move. Before they could even sit down, Applejack caught sight of them holding hooves. "Um? Why are y'all holding hooves?" asked Applejack. "Oh my. Is one of you hurt," added Fluttershy. Rainbow and Twilight knew that now was the time to announce their marriage. Both of them took in a deep breath. "Is something wrong?" asked Rarity. They braced themselves, as Twilight spoke first. "We gathered all of you here, so we can announce something important, and it might shock you," spoke Twilight. The others expressed confused looks, as the couple spat out the news. "We are getting married!" they both exclaimed. The others immediately gasped, and expressed shocked looks on their faces. "Y-You're what!?" spoke Rarity. Rainbow decided to speak this time. "Twilight and I are getting married," she said. "We love each other, and have decided to tie the knot." Rarity's eyes bulged. "I-I'm speechless," spoke Rarity. The others couldn't speak, including Pinkie, the pony who usually ALWAYS has something to say. Twilight gave Rainbow a smile, as she spoke the question that could either go north or south. "This may shock you all, but it's true," she spoke. "Rainbow and I are in love, and we are getting married in a week. Now, Rainbow and I ask if you accept these invitations. If not, we understand." Twilight held out four envelopes, awaiting the others responses. "Well, it is quite shocking, darling," said Rarity. "But, we are your friends. Of course we accept the invitations, along with the fact that you and Rainbow love each other." Twilight didn't know what to say, but she didn't have to say anything, as her friend's spoke. "Love works in many ways," said Fluttershy. "If this is what you and Rainbow Dash want, I agree." "I agree as well," spoke Applejack. "Even though it'll take some gettin' used to, I'm all for it!" "Me too!" exclaimed Pinkie. "It'll be fun to throw you and Dashie a wedding party!" Rainbow and Twilight gave the others smiles, as they let out long breaths of relief. The hard part was over, and now Twilight and Rainbow could stop worrying, and focus on starting a new chapter in their lives, together as one. Over the week of preparation for the wedding, Rarity had pitched in on decoration for the wedding, and Pinkie had been doing the planning for the afterparty. Vinyl Scratch had provided music, along with Octavia, because the two music ponies made an excellent duo when it came to coming up with creative tunes for weddings. Rarity had also pitched in on the designs for Twilight and Rainbow Dash's wedding dresses, and had promised to make them unique, seeing this was the first ever wedding between two mares. Princess Celestia had also caught the news of her student's marriage, and scheduled the wedding location in the Canterlot Castle Gardens; one of the most beautiful locations in Canterlot. Twilight was also a princess, so her wedding was more than likely going to end up in Canterlot, where all the royal weddings took place. Twilight may be a princess, but look at who she was marrying. Rainbow wasn't a pony of royalty in any way, but that was of no concern to Twilight. The wedding was truly unique. The ways of the wedding had to be altered a little, seeing it was two brides, not a bride and groom. At the ceremony, Twilight decided that both her and Rainbow would walk down the aisle when the time came, and instead of "Here Comes the Bride" playing, a song of Rainbow and Twilight's choosing would play instead. It took awhile to come up with a song, but finally Rainbow and Twilight agreed on a song, which was a instrumental tune called, "Unique Differences" that would be played by Octavia and her choir. It was a tune that matched them perfectly. The day had come for the two to be wed, and the usual nervous feeling surged through both of them. Rarity had helped each with their dresses, along with their mane-styles, and any other certain things that was required. Twilight stood in her dressing room, staring at herself in the mirror. She grew more and more nervous the longer she waited, while Rarity was helping Rainbow with her dress. She just breathed as normal as she could, giving herself words of confidence, as she heard Rarity open the door. Octavia's choir had started to play as well, meaning it was time. "Your lovely bride awaits," said Rarity, as Twilight made her way toward the door, only to starstruck by the sight of Rainbow. She was unable to mumble out a single word, as she stared at Rainbow in her dress. It was rainbow-themed, with a veil that glew in the sunlight, radiating Rainbow's beauty. The dress extended down the length of Rainbow Dash's body, even past her tail, with a rainbow pattern that glew. Her eyes were just visible through the veil. Rainbow was speechless as well, as she stared at Twilight. Twilight's dress was a dark violet color with special fabric that looked like shining stars. The dress extended down Twilight's entire body, just past her tail, and looked like a night sky, composed of blinking stars. The veil was darker violet color, her eyes just barely visible. Both of them just stared at each other with a long smile on their faces. "You look beautiful," mumbled Twilight, as she walked toward Rainbow. "So do you," complimented Rainbow. Rarity signaled both of them that they needed to hurry, so Twilight stood next to Rainbow. "Ready to do this?" asked Twilight. "With you by my side, I'm ready for anything," replied Rainbow. Both of them remained close, as they made their way out of the castle to just outside the Canterlot Gardens, watching as everypony turned to the two mares. Twilight and Rainbow remained strong, and slowly walked up the aisle, trying to focus on the main thing, and that was them getting married. Octavia's music helped to keep both of them calm, as they made it to the end of the aisle. They stood across from each other, smiling, as the music lowered, and Celestia started to speak. "Mares and gentlecolts, we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of Princess Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. The strength of their commitment is clear. The power of their love, undeniable. Their bond is unique in many ways, and even though some may find their love strange, it is clear that they belong together." Twilight and Rainbow both smiled, as Celestia continued to speak. "Rainbow Dash, do you take Twilight as your lawfully wedded wife through sickness and health, until death do you part?" asked Celestia. "I absolutely do," replied Rainbow. Celestia turned to Twilight. "And, do you, Princess Twilight Sparkle take Rainbow Dash as your lawfully wedded wife through sickness and health, until death do you part?" she asked. "I do," replied Twilight, staring at Rainbow Dash. "May we have the rings, please?" asked Celestia. Spike presented two rings, settled on a pillow of some sort. One was a ring with special properties; when held in the sun, a rainbow streak appears along the ring's surface. The other was a simple gold ring with a gem embedded in it, cut to look like Twilight's Element of Harmony; magic. Rainbow's ring was placed on a chain, seeing Rainbow was a pegasus, and had no horn. The chain would go around her neck, safe from harm. Celestia grabbed both rings with her magic, and spoke again. "I now pronounce you mare and mare, you may now kiss," announced Celestia, placing Rainbow's ring on Twilight's horn, and Twilight's ring around Rainbow's neck on the chain. Twilight removed Rainbow's veil first, revealing Rainbow's rosy-pink eyes, followed by Rainbow removing Twilight's veil, revealing Twilight's deep violet eyes. Once the veils were removed, both of them finally kissed, sealing their commitment to each other forever. Both of them were more happy than ever before in their lives, as they released their kiss, listening as everypony applauded, and thinking of the wonderful future they'd have, now that they had officially tied the knot. What they didn't know is that their future would be far from perfect, but more a living nightmare. AdoptionTwo months passed after Twilight and Rainbow's wedding, and the two had worked on putting their lives together. After much debate, the two had finally decided it was best to live together in Twilight's castle, seeing Spike wouldn't be able to live in Rainbow's home, and there was much more room for both of them in Twilight's castle. Rainbow and Twilight might've had much debate, but what couple doesn't? It would be unnatural if they didn't have debates, and knowing how stubborn Rainbow was, there would be many. Spike didn't mind it either, as long as his personal room was sound proof on the nights that Rainbow and Twilight decided to get intimate with each other. To fix that issue, Twilight put a sound proof barrier around Spike's bedroom, making every pony and dragon happy in the new living conditions. Seeing Rainbow wasn't into special locations, the two didn't have a honeymoon after the wedding, but did travel back to Rainbow's home for a night of heavenly romance. It was clear the two were happy, and even though some ponies found it strange, the couple didn't care. They acted as any normal couple, treating each other with the same amounts of respect. Everything was perfect, except Twilight felt as if something was missing in their lives, but she had never mentioned anything to Rainbow about it, seeing it's something that they'd both have to be ready for. As of now, both were still in the first steps of any couple's relationship, and Twilight wanted to enjoy as much free time as she could before taking the next step she desperately wanted. Twilight moaned, as she came to an orgasm for the fifth time that night, exhaling deep breaths. Rainbow settled next to her beloved Twilight, both of their manes messed up and drenched with sweat. They both sat, smiling at one another, after another wonderful night of heavenly love making. Rainbow breathed heavily, running her hoof through Twilight's mane, as Twilight planted a kiss on Rainbow's lips, and returned the favor by running her hoof through Rainbow's soft mane. Both were nuzzle to nuzzle, continuing to breathe heavily. Both were smiling, but Rainbow noticed something different about Twilight. "Something wrong, Twilight?" asked Rainbow. "Did I hurt you?" "Nothing's wrong, Rainbow," replied Twilight. "It felt wonderful, what you did to me." "Twilight, I've been with you for two months now, and I know when you are troubled," Rainbow objected. Twilight was caught, and she knew she couldn't hide it. She sat up, along with Rainbow, comforting her beloved. "What's wrong, Twilight?" asked Rainbow, in a concerned voice. "You can tell me anything." Twilight looked at Rainbow. "Promise you won't get mad?" asked Twilight. "Why would I get mad?" replied Rainbow. "Just promise me," said Twilight. Rainbow gave her a smile, starting rub her hoof along Twilight's back. "I promise," assured Rainbow. Twilight let out a long sigh. "I've been thinking about adding an addition to our lives," confessed Twilight. "What do you mean, Twilight?" questioned Rainbow, confused on what Twilight meant. "Well, seeing that we can't have one naturally, I was thinking of looking into adopting a foal of our own," she confessed. Rainbow was a bit shocked, but remained at her lover's side. "That's all?" said Rainbow. Rainbow's reaction surprised Twilight a little, as she turned to face Rainbow. "You're not mad?" asked Twilight. "Not at all," replied Rainbow. "I've been thinking the same thing, seeing we've been together for awhile now, and even though nights like these are awesome, they just feel empty." "It's me, isn't it?" spoke Twilight. "No, Twilight. You make me feel as if I'm in heaven when we make love. The emptiness I speak of is not being able to create a foal of our own." Twilight expressed a smile, surprised just how much her and Rainbow thought alike. "I'd love to go look into adoption, but we would need to decide on some things," stated Rainbow. "Such as?" asked Twilight. "Well, do we want a boy or girl?" asked Rainbow. Twilight hadn't thought about these questions, because she thought Rainbow would want to wait longer before considering a child. "I'd prefer a girl," spoke Twilight. "I agree, because I've heard girls are easier to raise," replied Rainbow. "Alright, what about the type of pony?" asked Twilight. "A pegasus, seeing it would be unfair if our own child couldn't fly with us," confirmed Rainbow. "Good point." "Age?" asked Rainbow. "I'd like our child to be in it's first years of life, seeing it would be hard for a child to accept two mares as parents," claimed Twilight. "Way to think ahead," Rainbow agreed. Twilight and Rainbow both giggled. "When do we go to the adoption center?" asked Twilight. "How's tomorrow?" replied Rainbow. "That sounds wonderful," said Twilight with a smile. Rainbow gave Twilight a smile. "Now, back to business," she said seductively. "It's your turn, my lovely egghead." Twilight giggled, as she resumed to making love with Rainbow. The next day, Twilight and Rainbow woke up around noon, exhausted from the events of their previous night. The two didn't worry about the time, seeing the adoption center was open all day, and there were plenty of foals to adopt. To save time, they decided to get ready together, resisting to perform any sexual activity in the shower, even though the hot steam from the hot water felt tender against their private parts. They did wash each other in a romantic way, but that was as far as they went, seeing they had just cleaned their genitals, and preferred not to kill time by having to wash them again. Once they were out of the shower, they dried each other off, then proceeded to brushing their manes. They wanted to make a good first impression to the staff of the adoption center, showing they were clean ponies and would make good parents. Lastly, the two brushed their teeth, then proceeded to breakfast, where Spike had made them some french toast. Rainbow and Twilight forgot they hadn't told Spike of their plans yet, so now was as good a time as any to spill the beans. "Um, Spike, we have something to tell you," said Twilight. "What is it?" replied Spike. "Well, Rainbow and I have decided to adopt a foal," confessed Twilight. Spike was confused. "Wait, you mean as in "a child?" he asked. "Yeah, a lovely girl," she assured. "Uh, okay?" said Spike. Twilight could read him like a book, so she assured him. "Don't worry, she won't be your responsibility, Spike," assured Twilight. "It would be unfair to put another responsibility on you." "Meaning?" he asked. Rainbow interrupted. "The foal will be mine and Twilight's responsibility, seeing it was our choice," stated Rainbow. "That means that Twilight and I will change the diapers, feed her, clean her, care for her, and what ever else comes up." "I'll remember that," stated Spike. "Any names in mind?" Twilight decided to answer that. "Not yet, because the pony's name must match them somehow, and coming up with one then arriving at the adoption center and choosing a child with nothing that matches the name would be useless. I'm sure when we see her, it'll come to us." "I suppose you're right," said Spike. "Now, why don't you two have some breakfast?" "Sorry, Spike, but we want to look as clean as possible when we arrive," said Twilight. "The ponies who run the adoption center are VERY strict on first impressions," said Twilight. "I understand, Twilight," agreed the dragon. "Good luck." "Thanks, Spike," said Twilight, as her and Rainbow made their way out of the castle. Rainbow and Twilight arrived at the adoption center within twenty minutes, walking into the building where there was a waiting room and two doors that led to the back. Luckily for them, the waiting room was empty, so they had made good timing. Both of them walked to the front counter where a young mare accompanied them. "Hello, how can help you ladies?" asked the mare. "We are looking into adopting," spoke Twilight, seeing she knew more of how adoption worked than Rainbow. "Ok, and which of you is adopting?" she asked. "We both are," spoke Twilight. The young mare looked confused. "So, each of you are adopting?" she asked. Rainbow decided to put this prolonging to an end. "No! Her and I are a couple, and are looking to adopt a child together!" Rainbow snapped. "I'm so sorry, miss," apologized the mare. "It's just that we are used to mare and colt couples, not mare and mare couples. I'm going to need you to fill out some paperwork, then we'll proceed to the next step." The mare handed Twilight a pen and clipboard, which Twilight accepted, grabbing it with her magic. Twilight and Rainbow took a seat next to each other, filling out the paperwork which was a mirage of dumb questions, but were required. Once she finished up the paperwork, and both had signed their names, she returned to the front desk, where she handed the pen and clipboard back to the mare. The mare looked over the paperwork for a second, then she turned back to Twilight and Rainbow. "Looks like everything is correct," she said. "Hold on a sec, and I'll let you back to the nursery." Twilight and Rainbow agreed, as the mare made her way to one of the locked doors, and opened it. "Follow me, ladies," she said, signalling Twilight and Rainbow to follow. Rainbow and Twilight did as the mare instructed and followed the mare into the back, hearing the door shut behind them. The mare led them toward an opening with some orphans playing in separate corners. The orphans just looked at Twilight and Rainbow with wonders, seeing they were used to seeing a mare and colt together. The mare continued to lead Rainbow and Twilight further back, until they were at an office door. The mare took a seat at her chair. "Have a seat, and we'll discuss your options," she said, as Twilight and Rainbow took a seat. The mare pulled out some papers from one of the desk drawers, and patted it down so it was nice and organized. "So, ladies, what are you looking to adopt?" she asked. Twilight and Rainbow looked at each other, holding hooves. "We'd like a girl," spoke Twilight. "I'm sure we've got plenty of those," she joked, writing down some info. "What about species?" "Pegasus," said Rainbow. The mare wrote down some more info, then proceeded to asking questions. "Any certain age?" she asked. "Foal years," said Twilight. "We are a lesbian couple, and I think that the best way to make our child feel comfortable, is to raise it from its youngest years." She wrote down more info, then looked back up at Twilight and Rainbow. "That's smart thinking, dear," she said. "I think we have about three in our nursery." Twilight and Rainbow didn't get excited just yet, seeing they wanted their child to be perfect. "Do you mind if we take a look at them?" asked Twilight. "Not at all," she replied. "It's just down the hall outside my office. Let me know of your decision." Twilight and Rainbow stood up from their seats, and walked out of the office, down the hall, just as the mare had instructed. Rainbow and Twilight came to viewing area where they saw three foals sleeping in the room, and pondered over their thoughts. The first foal had a brown body with a dark-brown mane. The second one to the right of it had a midnight-blue body with black and blue mane. The third and final was a small foal with a yellow body and dark green mane. Rainbow had interest in the second one, but Twilight thought otherwise. Twilight wanted to know specifics on the foals before making a decision and returned to the office with Rainbow behind her. "Well?" asked the mare. "All three are darling, but we'd like to know more about these three," stated Twilight. "What do you mean?" she asked. "You know what I mean," objected Twilight. "The backgrounds." The mare looked at them funny, knowing that Twilight wasn't going to be suckered by her. Twilight was too smart to be suckered so easily. "Oh, those," she said, dumbly. "Well, the first one was given away by a young sixteen-year old, and was later discovered to have serious issues." Twilight read this mare perfectly, and signaled for details on the next one. "It was found just outside of Cloudsdale with a missing wing," she explained. "What about the last one," said Rainbow, now getting angry. "Did IT have any issues?!" "Well, i-it's mother had an STD," she mumbled. That was enough for Twilight and Rainbow to decide that they didn't want to adopt a child with severed wings, severe issues, or mothers who had an STD. They gave the mare their decision by shaking their heads, and proceeded to leaving, until they heard a loud cry erupt from down the hall. Curious on what was making the noise, Twilight and Rainbow looked down the hall, only to see one of the staff trying to calm a young foal in their hooves. The foal was a beautiful female pegasus with sky-blue eyes, a white coat, and a golden mane. Twilight and Rainbow saw this foal as another option, having trouble thinking over the foal's crying. The mare stood next to them. "What about that one?" asked Rainbow. The mare was lost for words. "It must've just been imported," she said. "Are you considering it as an option?" Rainbow and Twilight quickly thought about it, and decided that it was best to try every foal available. "Looks like it's a "yes," said Rainbow. "Okay, it might take awhile, but let me gather up the information on this one, then I'll get back to you two," said the mare. "Alright," agreed Rainbow. It took about an hour, but finally the mare had the statistics on the foal. She looked over them carefully, knowing that Twilight and Rainbow were smart, and knew she couldn't trick them. "There's not much on this foal, except that it was born prematurely, the mother attempted to murder the foal, and the father is deceased," she explained. "It is only three-months old, and was given no name, due to being extracted by the nurses, according to the hospital records." Twilight and Rainbow didn't like the fact that the mother was suicidal, but it was at an age where could be raised right. One question still remained. "What about medical issues?" asked Twilight. "None," she confirmed. "The only strange thing about its birth is that it didn't cry, but was perfectly healthy." "How do not know that you're just "low-balling" us again?!" exclaimed Rainbow. "See for yourself," she said, holding out the papers. Rainbow looked over the papers carefully, making sure her and Twilight were not getting played for fools. Remarkably, everything was legit, and they had been told the truth. Rainbow handed the papers back to her, and proceeded to deciding with Twilight. "How do you feel about this, Twilight?" asked Rainbow. "Besides the suicidal mother, I feel pretty good about this one," replied Twilight. "Me too," agreed Rainbow. Their thoughts were interrupted. "Are you saying that this is what you want?" asked the mare. Rainbow turned to Twilight to make sure if she agreed. Twilight gave Rainbow a nod and smile, meaning she agreed. "Yes," said Rainbow. "Very well. Just let me get a certificate, along with some legal forms stating that you legally own her, and we'll proceed to getting her to her new home" she concluded pulling some papers from a drawer. "Thank you," said Twilight. She handed Twilight and Rainbow some papers, showing them where to sign their names, which seemed to take forever, but eventually came to an end. The mare gathered up the papers, sticking them into an organized folder. "I'd like you to keep this folder in a safe place, seeing these documents state you as her legal adopted parents, and if you are to ever have issues with her or questions, you must bring those documents, showing that she was adopted from here legally," explained the mare. "Now, onto the birth certificate, seeing her real mother never signed a certificate, you two get to sign her legal certificate, and even name her." Twilight and Rainbow smiled, staring at the legal certificate. "Do you have any names in mind?" she asked. "I actually do," said Twilight. "It's based on her appearance, because she looks just like an angel, so I came up with the name "Angel." "I like it," agreed Rainbow. "However it needs something to go with it. Twilight thought for a second. "Hmm. What about, "Angel Sparkle Dash?" asked Twilight. "That's perfect!" exclaimed Rainbow. "It's got a daring sound to it!" The mare interrupted them. "Very well," she said."Then by signing this certificate, Angel Sparkle Dash is legally your daughter." Twilight and Rainbow signed the certificate, followed by the mare signing her name as well, seeing it was required, then she placed it in the same folder. "Congratulations to both of you," she said. "You are now the legal guardians of Angel Sparkle Dash." Twilight and Rainbow smiled, now knowing that they were legal parents, but soon they'd think twice of ever adopting their little "angel." The nightmare was only beginning for newlywed couple.
Prologue: The BirthScreaming echoed throughout Ponyville Hospital, as a bed strolled through the halls of the nursery.
