Fallout Equestria: Wake Up
Chapter One: One and the Same
As endless as the concrete sky would be, there would always be some semblance of hope. Nothing, but artificial pavement surrounding the world I live in. I'm just living here, sad and somewhat lazy, wondering why something bad hasn't happened to me. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones; there's always a place outside of the vault, but that little chip won't let me go. It's embedded in Ponies brains and I'm not so different from the rest.
"Hi!", awoken from my thoughts, I find another version standing next to me. Of course, she probably wants me to play with her like the rest. Not gonna happen, I'm going to lay here in this bed and ponder. "Wanna play? Play!?"
My name is Rainbow Dash. 420, and I am an anomaly. Stuck without a single joy in my life. Just with these other ones who won't leave me alone. Maybe if I ignore the creature, it will leave me be-
"Play with me!" she says with that grating voice again. I like to think with a deeper baritone in my thought trace. It helps with the monotony and jumble of thoughts that cross my mind. It looks like this version is covered in something. Red and smelling of copper, she won't bucking stop smiling. "HEY look, I've got ahead!" she says with a giggle.
Now she pulled out a skull, looks similar to a pony shape. She must have murdered one of our own, terrific, another murderer in this place. "Yea, that's nice, why don't you show that to the other versions while your at it, they might enjoy it."
"No! This Rainbow Dash saw you in the doorway, just laying down in the bed and NOT DOING ANYTHING FUN", she takes out a dagger, look how threatening she thinks she looks. I bet she'll try to attack me in some way or another. Or, maybe she'll just buck off like she's supposed to. Now where was I-
"Stop ignoring me!" she says while unveiling what seemed to be a broken piece of glass, which probably she got from some broken wall, most likely a shattered window. "In this Vault, we are supposed to be nice and civil and have fun games together and you're not doing that!"
"Achem, okay, what number are you?" I say, so annoyed at this point. Her staring at me with that confused glare. "sigh..." look, if you want, I'll play with you if you tell me your number, but then we have to play a game okay?"
She nods like a frantically possessed school filly, how terrific. "My number is, 419, can we play now?"
"Yea, we can play now, here's the game, it's called "Don't Miss.", 420 stands up from her bed, her Vault 106 number unveiled from her Blue-ish Vault Suit. "Now, you stab me with that piece of glass with one blow, we each take different blows until one of us dies okay?"
419 jumps in excitement before spouting "Awesome! I'll go first!". With a quick stab, 419 drives the broken glass right into the top of Rainbow Dash, 420's skull. It stabs deep and causes her to fall back into the bed, seemingly unconscious with blood seeping over her face.
"Hurray, I won and I'm the best!" 419 says, before reaching out to grasp the glass she used. Right about when she was going to grasp the glass's frame, 420 arose and grasped her partner's hoof with a tight grip.
"Now, it's my turn.", with a easy pull, Rainbow Dash grasped the arm and drove it into her "sister's" throat. She gasped for air as the blood started flowing out of her, before she fell to the floor in a puddle of her own blood.
"That'll teach you to mess with this Rainbow Dash ya freak", she says under her breath. "Wait a minute, how did I not die from that?"
420 took the glass from the pony she just killed and studied the tip of the blade. On the tip was a impaled brain chip, static thundering out from the broken opening. A realization went through her mind, a fragment of freedom wafted through her consciousness. A idea that made her heart race before a spurt of blood seeped out of her head. She took out the chip from the piece of glass and returned the broken piece of glass to her cut opening, to somewhat stop the bleeding. She then smiled in such a way that would scare even a raider.
She took the dagger from the corpse and proceeded out from her room. The puddle of blood staining her hooves and making bloody hoof steps in her wake. Near the water fountain at the hall, a Rainbow Dash was crying, an eye detached out from her socket as she desperately hugged the fountain for safety. 420 easily cut her head off, sailing it off to the window near, staining it with blood and pieces of fleshy puss. The sound of screaming could be heard from afar and she just continued to the Overseer's office. Along the way, many ponies corpses were found and even a Rainbow Dash was cannibalizing her sister out of starvation. She was swiftly dealt with a blow that stabbed through her forehead as she ate.
Continuing there, next to the entrance to the Overseer's room, vaporized corpses that were pitch-black skeletons stood near in droves. 420 realized the Overseer was in a angry mood today, seeing how many freshly made corpses were made before her room. Either way, 420 had no choice at this point, it was now or never. The door screeched open to the overseer's room and a fresh corpse of Rainbow Dash stood in it's wake. The Rainbow Dash, Overseer screamed and fired her Plasma Rifle at the corpse in a wild slurry of shots. With a click, the burnt and blown-apart corpse melted into a slob of flesh and cooked meat. The Overseer could only hear clicking, so she pressed to reload. Taking her chance, 420 appeared and threw the dagger at her, slamming the blade right into her heart.
420 went in and quickly looked at the Overseer's computer to find that the system had a password. Rainbow went to the fallen Pegasus and picked her still conscious body, before slamming her head against the wall.
"Whats the bucking password you piece of manure!?", the fallen Overseer only murmured. "Eh... 0291."
Rainbow Dash 420 dropped the body and found the Self-destruct sequence, it was exactly what she was looking for. She activated it and ran her way. To go as fast as she can, past the diner room where two Rainbow Dash's were fighting each other in a brutal display to the death. A breath of happiness went through 420, so much joy could only be expressed in a singular way. Tears flowed through her eye's as the scenes of violence and gore were overwhelmed by her chance to be free. Euphoria overwhelmed as she saw the door to outside the vault, hovering her body over the switch and watching the door flung open like a dream.
She ran out as fast as she could, the explosive fires following her as she ran. Before she exited the scraggly old door, the fire making her fly forward into the cold sand. She rose her head, to the moon that watched above as silent and peaceful as it could have ever been. She cried like a newborn foal at the sight, almost completely covered in red. She had finally been freed, before losing consciousness to its reverence.
This Rainbow Dash has gained her freedom. A place filled with images of herself, different outcomes and ugly ends. She was the only one left, the last clone of Vault 106. No more none-sense, fear, monstrosity or pain. No more tubes filled with gestating Rainbows. There was a time when things were sane, but it could only last so long. Now was time to forget the past, there could only be one future.
And it would be wondrous.
