Everypony knows of the events of the Crystal War, a fight against the tyrant King Sombra, a fight to keep the king out of Equestria. In the midst of battle, a blue pegasus bears an unbelievable alicorn magic. Her name was Peril.
“When is this lousy war coming to an end?” Peril asked as she bowed before the elegant princess in front of her.
“Soon, I hope.”
“I wish this war will end, before ponies start going crazy.” Peril smiled knowingly, and tipped her head to the side. “Speaking of which… “ She flitted over to a wooden board she nailed together days ago and tied a quivering silver crystal pony onto it. She tightened the leather straps, holding the pony into place. Slowly, Peril withdrew a knife that was hidden under the board. She surveyed the crystal pony’s face, levitating the knife with her pale green magic, and swiftly slashed that pony’s throat.
“What do you think you’re doing!” Princess Celestia screamed angrily. “Murdering a helpless pony, of all things!”
“But princess,” Peril meekly replied, “He killed many of our own soldiers. He’s a mindless beast of King Sombra.”
“That pony did nothing of the sort to deserve this kind of treatment.”
“He’s a damn crystal pony! One of King Sombra’s soldiers!”
“He had a life, just like everypony else!”
Peril just grinned. “Princess Celestia, want to give the torture table a try?”
“Peril,” the princess warned. “This is illegal, and I really don’t want to throw you into the dungeons, you being one of our best warriors.”
“You are just using me! Using me because I’m special! Using me because I’m a pegasus with magic! You are using me just to win a war that should have never happened in the first place.” She sighed, and then stared intently at Princess Celestia. “You give me no choice.”
Suddenly, an aura of light green surrounded Peril, and as it rises, a transformation occurs. Peril starts getting taller, her body and hooves narrow, a long, black horn sprouts out of her forehead. Black seeps into her fur, her mane changes lavender with rosy streaks, her ears flatten, her eyes narrow. An intricate necklace sparkles at her throat, and her aqua hoof ornaments light up. A new cutie mark appears on her flank, and her mane starts flowing like the princess’s.
“Princess Euphony!” Princess Celestia exclaims. Except she doesn’t look exactly like Princess Euphony. The long lost princess is pure white, not as black as shadows. Her mane is supposed to be yellow, and the princess doesn’t have fangs. Also, her cutie mark is the wrong color.
“Princess? I am Dark Euphony!” With that ominous statement, she suddenly blasts a strong burst of magic at Princess Celestia, knocking her off balance.
When the princess got to her feet, she fired back, but Dark Euphony was ready with a counterattack. The two magic blasts collided, and a loud explosion was heard. With nothing left to do, Princess Celestia decided to tie Dark Euphony to her own torture rack, bound and gagged. The princess applied a mind control spell to the third regal sister, and Dark Euphony turned back into Princess Euphony. Her colors faded, and Princess Celestia then released her. Together, they used their magic to banish King Sombra to the Frozen North, and Equestria returned to its normal state.
As Princess Celestia’s mind control spell wore off, Princess Euphony turned into Dark Euphony, and teleported to… somewhere.
The Princess sighed, and realized that she could have used her magic to turn Peril good before it happened. How stupid she had been. Her long lost sister was there by her side the whole time, fighting in the war alongside Equestria. Princess Euphony was disguised as a pegasus, and ‘Peril’ was just an alias. That was why ‘Peril’ had alicorn magic without physically having a horn.
That night, with Equestria restored and Dark Euphony on the loose, the still air was anything but calm. A vivid dream popped into her head. “Find the seventh,” she whispered.
Princess Luna walked in her bedroom. “Princess Celestia! There was a dream yesterday… Find the seventh?”
“That’s exactly what I was told.”
“What could it mean?”
“I don’t know! I’m taking a note to Princess Twilight.”
Meanwhile, Dark Euphony has captured a few ponies, and tied them all to trees. She loomed in front of one terrified grey pegasus with a lemon yellow mane. “Any last words, idiot?”
“Muffin please?” The pegasus pleaded.
“Seriously, you’ve got to be joking.” Dark Euphony levitated a knife and carefully sliced off one of her wings, taking pleasure in her agony. “You want muffins? Just wait, soon you’ll be a muffin. Got it?”
“Yes…”
Dark Euphony smirked, her fangs gleaming. “Great. Now let’s get started! Excited?”
“Yes, can’t wait for muffins! Lemon surprise please?”
Dark Euphony just rolled her eyes at the sight of her stupidity. “I mean you’ll be dead. Soon!” She snarled in the pegasus’s face.
“Dead! Will I get muffins when I’m dead? Oh my Celestia this is going to be so exciting!”
“Shut up before I take out your tongue.” Without hesitating, Dark Euphony mercilessly cut out her tongue, and blood flowed into the pony’s mouth. Then she quickly slit her throat, sparing her from excess torture. She moved on to the next two ponies, slicing their heads off.
The last pony tied to a tree was a cheerful pink mare who smiled at the broken pegasus and beheaded ponies. As Dark Euphony closed in on her, that pony’s mane suddenly deflated, and her colors turned darker. But she was still smiling, eyes bright, giggling at the other three’s unfortunate deaths.
“What if you prolonged their torture, and then… “
Dark Euphony smiled at that certain mare’s bright enthusiasm and brought forth the knife, slicing the rope that held her in place. “Good idea,” she said.
“So you’re just letting me go?”
“If you can murder ponies for me.”
“Of course, I pinkie promise. Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye. Oh, wait! Maybe I can turn ponies into cupcakes! This will be so exciting!”
Dark Euphony is certain that she’ll keep her promise, so she flew off, into the dark, dank woods, planning her next assault. This will be so exciting, she thought.
