//-------------------------------------------------------// A Marines Honor -by RedBolt27- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Operation Gone Bad //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Operation Gone Bad Location: Basrah, Iraq. Time: 18:00:07. Operation: Shock and wave. Objective: Find and Capture Al-Asad. Name: Sgt. Paul Jackson. Military: 1st Force Recon Marine or U.S.M.C. Today was a very important day for Sgt. Paul Jackson and the rest of his Marine team. Today was the day were they would capture Al-Asad. It had been a hard few weeks for Jackson and his team. Jackson had seen countless men of his die to the OP 40. He even had a few fare share of his own times where he got wounded, but it was all worth it due to the fact that today would be the end of Al-Asad. “Alright boys listen up.” Says Lt. Vasquez. “Today is the is the day we take down Al-Asad once and for all.” Every Marine that was in the Sea Knight began to cheer. Jackson had a small smile, but did not cheer with the others. Vasquez saw this, but he didn’t say anything about it. Vasquez went to go speak up again, but was interrupted by the pilot. “Alright everyone we’re about 2 minutes away from the objective point.” Most of the Marines on board began to slightly tense up. Vasquez sighed before beginning to speak. “Alright men check your supplies. I want to make sure that we are all ready before shit hits the fan. Jackson I want you on the MK 19. If you see anything hostile take it out.” Jackson only nodded before he made his way to the MK 19. He disengaged the safety on the MK 19 before checking the number of rounds he had. Seeing that he had around a few thousand rounds Jackson loaded up the it up with a box full of 20mm rounds. After he finished loading up the pilot began to speak. “Alright boys we are arriving at our destination. Jackson anything that even looks like it can shoot us down you light them up got it.” Jackson only nodded before he got into position. After about thirty seconds a voice rung out through his comms. “Alright Marines listen up. About three hours ago one of our Spec Ops teams gave us Intel that Al-Asad is most likely located somewhere in this city. Due to all the elite OP 40 that are located here it may be suggest that Al-Asad is planning something big. Be advised that Seal Team Six is moving to where Al-Asad is said to be. All other teams are to either eliminate the OP 40 or help locate Al-Asad.” Another voice then began to speak. “Outlaw this is Deadly. We’ll provide you with air support once your team hits the ground.” Lt. Vasquez responded. “Copy your last Deadly take out anything that looks to be OP 40 related.” Deadly responded with a “Copy that.” Before flying right next to them. After about another twenty seconds bullets began to bounce of the helicopter Jackson was in. The pilot turned his head over to face him before he gave him a thumbs up. Jackson nodded before finding where the enemy was firing from and letting loose his own barrage of 20mm rounds. As Jackson rained down hell from above Vasquez began to speak. “Alright listen and listen good. We are going to drop off half the team at the first designated LZ. After that the rest of us will be dropped of at the second designated LZ point. Remember if you find Al-Asad do not and I repeat DO NOT kill him. We want him alive.” Everyone nodded their heads showing they understood. Jackson kept firing down at the poor enemy that was unlucky enough to get spotted by him. “Jackson take out the RPG’s on the rooftops before they shoot us out of the sky.” Said the pilot. Jackson looked over on one of the many rooftops and spotted an OP 40 soldier with an RPG aimed at him. As quickly as he could he began to fire down on the roof taking out the man and several others that were nearby him. As the helicopter reached it’s LZ zone the first half of the Marine team stood up. “Deadly this is Outlaw, we are beginning to land down and drop off our first half of the load copy how.” Said Vasquez. After a few moments Deadly came through the comms. “Copy your last Outlaw. We’ll cover you till you unload your first load then we’re heading back to refuel and rearm.” As soon as the helicopter landed and the door opened. The first half Outlaw team began to quickly file out of the helicopter. Jackson watched as three Abram tanks began to roll by and Marines ran to the nearby apartment complexes. After the first half of his team was was on the ground and moving the helicopter took off again. “Outlaw this is Deadly, We are heading back to base to refuel and rearm.” Vasquez went to go respond but another voice broke through. “Outlaw this is Overlord there has been a change of plans for the rest of your team. The first half of team Yellow-jacket has reported that they are pinned down and and need help. I want your team to move in and assist Yellow-jacket. Their location should be marked by green smoke.” Sighing Vasquez looked over at what was left of his team. “Alright you heard the what command said. We are to move in and assist Yellow-jacket.” Everyone nodded and got up from their seats. Jackson stayed on the MK 19 making sure no enemy would get the fix on them. After the helicopter land down safely Jackson dismounted of the MK 19 and walked behind a fellow Marine and waited for the door to open. After about a minute the remaining men of Outlaw had exit the helicopter and were running towards where team Yellow-jacket was located. Sadly though things didn’t get any easier for them. “Shit we got guys on the street.” Shouted Pvt. Mark. True to his words around twelve OP 40 troops started to cover the street and began to fire down on the Marine team. Jackson ran to the nearest cover he had and began to fire back at the enemy troops with his M4A1 with red dot sight. Jackson unload a full clip into three OP 40 soldiers before ducking back down into his cover. He looked over at where Vasquez was taking cover at. Seeing that he was also pinned down, Jackson peeked around the corner to see that most of the enemy was grouped up near the street. Seeing this Jackson pulled out one of his M67 frag grenade and pulled the pin. He held it for a couple of seconds before tossing it into the clumped up enemy group. After several more seconds the grenade went off killing most of the OP 40 troops. Finishing off the rest of the troops the team began to move into a construction site where the green smoke was coming from. After taking out a few more enemy troops that were located inside the construction site they began to move up the stairs. “Hold your fire there is friendlies on the second floor.” shouted one of the Marines of team Yellow-jacket. Jackson was the last one to run up the stairs and took cover behind some concrete wall. “So you're our ride out of here.” Said the leader of Yellow-jacket. Vasquez nodded before looking into the sky to see to enemy transport helicopters stop near their location. “Shit this is bad they're going to try and flank us.” Jackson began to fire at the cockpit of the helicopter to try and kill the pilot. His luck came when he saw the glass break and the pilot slump over. The helicopter began to spin out of control until it crashed not to far away, but there was still a second helicopter that he had to take down. That was suddenly taken care of though when a missile hit the second enemy helicopter taking it out of the sky. “Did you guys miss me.” Said the pilot of Deadly. “Right on time Deadly now can you take out the rest of these bastards.” Said Vasquez. Deadly swung back around and began to unload on the enemy troops below. As Deadly was firing down on the enemy Jackson and his team began to move up with Yellow-jacket who were taking out the rest of the enemy troops who were still standing. After taking care of the enemy they began to move to the LZ point and file into the Sea Knight. “Jackson get back on the MK 19.” Said the pilot. After everyone had entered the helicopter the pilot began to lift it up into the air. Within a few seconds both teams were up off the ground and in the air flying towards their objective, but was interrupted when Overlord spoke through their comms. “All Marines listen up. Just a couple of minutes ago I had just received info that Seal Team Six had just found a nuclear device. We do not know if the device is active or not, but a full evacuation has been called into effect. All personnel are to get to a safe distance from the blast radius.” As soon as Overlord had finished Deadly was suddenly hit by a Missile. “Shit we’ve been hit we’re going down.” Deadly spins out of control until and crash lands onto a heavily populated street. “Overlord this is Outlaw, Deadly has been shot down and we see small firearm rounds being fired into the enemy. We are going down for a rescue mission.” Says Vasquez. Jackson fires down at the large group of enemy who were running towards the downed helicopter. “Copy that Outlaw, but you will not be in a safe distance when that nuke goes off.” Says Overlord. “We know what we are getting ourselves into.” Says Vasquez. “Alright it’s your call.” Overlord says. The pilot looks over at them before nodding and landing the helicopter. “Alright men let's get that pilot and run back.” Everyone nods before rushing out of the helicopter and runs their way to the downed bird. When they finally reach the helicopter Jackson runs up to the pilot who looked like her leg was broken. “Come on Jackson let’s get her and go!” Vasquez shouts before he unloads onto an enemy group. Jackson reaches over and grabs the pilot and pulls her out before running back to the helicopter. After reaching the helicopter Jackson place the hurt pilot into one of the seats. He then covers the rest of the men as the began file into the helicopter. After everyone made it in the helicopter began to take off. Suddenly Overlord’s voice rung through the comms. “All men be advised. A nuclear threat has been confirmed. I repeat a nuclear threat has been confirmed. All teams are to evacuate until NEST team has decla-.” Suddenly a large flash of light went off in the middle of the city. Jackson uncovered his eyes to see that the bomb had been set off and that the shock wave was heading right towards them. “Hang on!” Shout one of the Marines from team Yellow-jacket. Seconds later the helicopter was hit and began to spin out of control. “Mayday Mayday this is Outlaw we are going down, I repeat we are going down.” Jackson looked over to see the Lt. Volker was losing his grip. Jackson went to go reach for him, but missed his chance as Volker flew right out the back door of the helicopter. “Shit we lost Volker.” Shout Sgt. Adan. The helicopter continued to spin out of control until it finally hit the ground. Several minutes later Jackson opens his eyes. Grunting in pain he looks down to see the he had a large gash in his side and the he was losing blood fast. Looking over to his left he saw the body of Lt. Vasquez laying next to both the dead pilot and co-pilot. Looking over to his right Jackson saw that the back door of the helicopter was still open. Hissing in pain he began to make his way to the exit. After making his way down and out of the helicopter, Jackson looked around at all the damage the nuke had caused. Looking around he spot several bodies of his fellow Marines. Grunting in pain again he made his way towards the nearest evac station, but sadly he didn’t get very far. He finally collapsed on the ground after getting 200 ft. away from the crash site. As Jackson laid there he looked up to see that there was a blinding light come closer towards him. He began to reach out for it until he heard a female’s voice. “Don’t worry my child you will be safe where you’ll be heading.” After hearing that Jackson slowly closed his eyes and let the darkness consume him.
