Chapter 1: Street Life

It was dark, cold, scary and windy. I stumbled along the cold and unforgiving concrete of Manehaten, the wind nipping at my whole body. I had waited for a whole day for mommy and daddy to come back. I wanted to find a warmer place to wait than the park, so I walked. I shivered in fright and from the cold as I continued. I looked around to see a dumpster, it wasn't all that smelly and had great coverage from the wind and snow. I took the cardboard from around me and sheltered myself even more, the streetlight gave out no longer giving light. I whispered a goodnight to myself and drifted away to sleep.

I woke to someone throwing a can at me, I looked up at them as they scoffed in disgust. I decided to move on from my little home, to find some good food to eat. I signed as my stomach growled, my light gray coat icky from the dumpster. My maroon mane wasn't in any better shape either, I picked up my pace as I felt fatigue starting to lace up my body. I groaned in discomfort as I fell down, knocking quite a couple other ponies as well. "Hey watch where you are goin' pipsqueak!" A passerby yelled as he threw a donut at my face. I greedily ate up the donut, not leaving a single sprinkle behind. I licked my lips feeling energy slowly sealing back into my body, I decided to be more observant looking around for my next victim. I was only in second grade but I was smart for my age, I spotted somepony on a bike with 3 huge loafs of bread. I decided to go for it and used my telekinesis to float the loaves out of the basket. No one noticed as I slowly left with the bread, happily chomping on it as I walked. 'I don't know why adults say stealing is wrong, it's fantastic!' Since it looked like it was around 9:30 I decided to find a way to store this food so I could collect more. I looked around and saw an older mare looking away from her huge bag. I decided to make a run for it, I ran past the mare focusing on the bag as I ran away. I heard a couple of shouts and I looked behind. The mare caught me and was currently chasing me, I turned back around and went for the crowded walk way. I weaved back and forth in the crowd, making sure I didn't attract to much attention. I shoved the bread in side the bag as I ran, making the hardest turns I could to escape the mare. I found myself a dark alley and celebrated, I actually lost her! I heard someone clear their throats, I slowly turned behind me towards the darkest part of the alley. I saw a jet black unicorn mare with a fairly big cloak on, she walked closer to me as I stood my ground.

"Hey kid. Guessing by that jig you did, you stole that stuff didn't ya'." I paused at her words dropping the bag and nodding slowly.
"Well what if I told ya' there are people willing to pay for your skills. Even willing to house, feed, and pay you for one job. All you got to do is come with me and I will show you how to steal like a pro. It already seems to be in your blood." Her words seemed to good to be true, I furiously nodded. She took her hood off revealing her midnight blue boyish haircut, smiling she levitated my new bag and led me to my new life.

9 Years Later

I trotted around in my long glittering Snow White dress, keeping a close eye on the guards and host sipping the complimentary wine. "Magic make sure you knock the lights out we will handle security. Get the target and we will be dying rich."
"Heh. You can count of that Midnight just make sure I have at least 20 seconds of escape time." I spoke into the hidden ear piece, I made sure to cover that ear again with my long hair. I downed the rest of my wine getting quickly to work, I went in the directions of the bathroom and quickly made my way to the control room of the museum. The artifact we were obtaining was an old diadem, one that belonged to my client's family before it was stolen. I love irony, Midnight fed me directions as I snuck along the walls slinking in the shadows. I loved my life now, after Midnight saved me she trained me nonstop. I don't complain the training is what has made me so unstoppable and wanted in many parts of Equestria. I peaked into the control room window checking the room out, the tech was simple and there were no guards. I laughed as I dashed inside rigging up a blackout, quickly changing out of my dress as well. I slammed the button as I turned on my night vision goggles and ran towards the target room. I kicked and knocked out several guards on my way, when I got to the room I received the all clear from Midnight. I hummed as I secured the diadem in my pack, my black tight suit keeping me shielded from prying eyes. I decided to use the back door as I ran through the huge museum, hearing the guards trying to turn everything back on the calm the frightened guests. I paused right outside the museum and got my spray paint, I painted a whip and crop crossing making two lines in the star. I finished the star and put a circle around it, dealing the deal my trade mark tag. I poofed myself inside the van next to Midnight in the passenger seat.

"So did you get it, please say that somewhere in your perfect wavy mane you have it." Midnight exaggerated as we drove away, I laughed and unzipped my small saddle pack showing the Ruby and Sapphire diadem. Midnight whooped as we drove off to our clients house, ready to take in our loot of 10 million each.

Time skip

"Oh my gosh I knew we could pull it off but I can't believe we just pulled it off!" Midnight exclaimed as she dramatically flopped on a couch in our hide out.

"I can't believe they pained us both in cash, which reminds me you have to help me bring it all into the bunker!" I said heaving two heavy bags of the money with me, at least 15 more bags to carry left in the van.

"Of course Mistress Magic, I will carry your bags inside your glorious castle." Midnight finished with a bow making us erupt with giggles. Midnight really did more than feed and teach me, she became the older fun and strict sister I ever wanted and needed. After we took all the bits inside we decided to discuss what we wanted to do with it all. Putting it in a bank was a little too risky for wanted mares, spending it all would be reckless, keeping it in a vault to never be touched was pointless. I sighed curling up a bit on the couch, looking at my blank flank. Even though I found something I loved it wasn't my special talent.

"Hey Midnight, I don't think I want to be doing this anymore. I love this job and being with you but this isn't my special talent. How about we split the money equally and meet up every once in a while. I promise I won't leave you hanging, I just need to find my special talent." I finished looking up with pleading eyes. I did love my life now but there was something missing, I would miss Midnight greatly but I would visit her.

"Sure. I won't hold you hostage, I will stay in this job you find your true passion." Midnight said, bringing Mr to hug my mentor.

"Thank you! I will repay you, I promise." I teared up as Midnight sniffled, we hugged until I had to pack which I admit was a while.
