Twins From Avalon

The next day, Niko and I wait outside eagerly awaiting the carriage to arrive. "Hey Shelly?"

"Yeah Niko?"

"You'll be fine. Just promise me we won't be apart any longer than this month, OK?" Niko asks, starring into the sky. I look at her and for a minute I feel my heart tighten. A whole month without Niko by my side. This is gonna be rough... but I have to try! If I don't try, Niko would have no reason to look up to me like she does.

"Yea. I promise." We turn to face each other and laugh. "One last time OK?" I ask. Niko looks confused for a second but then smiles.

"OK!" We both point our horns up to the sky and, after waiting long enough to know there's no pony or birds in the sky, we focus and shoot our magic out, making a ball that shoots up into the sky. Then, we release and watch as it implodes sending purple and greenish blue lights scattering in the sky. Our own personal fireworks. After the lights vanish, the carriage pulls up in our yard. The pegasus that was pulling it smiles at us.

"Brilliant fireworks display. Maybe when you're not so busy I could hire you two for my daughters birthday!" We all laugh, knowing full well he was joking, and I hop into the carriage lifting my luggage into the back. "All set then?" he asks as I look over my luggage.

"Yep. I'm ready. Bye Niko!! See you in a month!!" I say as we take off. I wave good bye to my family as we set off for the kingdom. Niko waves until I can no longer see her, even with my enhancement spell.

"Don't you go worrying now. Your Father's a good friend of mine. I'm sure he'll set up a HUGE party for your return." He says, trying to cheer me up. Apparently I had allowed a bit of worry to slip into my face. Won't let that happen again. "So I left a map of Sunrise Kingdom there in the back for you. You'll need it to get your way around. Oh, and don't worry about paying for the ride. It's on me."

After maybe three hours in the air I'm about ready to hurl. I've read about air sickness before, but I'd never really experienced it. Let me just say, IT- SUCKS. I hate being in the air! No question about it. The trip home is going to be on good, SOLID, ground. No offence to, uh, shoot I forgot to ask my drivers name. "Uh, s-sorry, wh-what was your name again?" I ask, trying not to sound sick.

"Oh no problem! The name's Gregory. Ya know, ya can always count on me to get ya anywhere. Should ya ever need a ride," he states in a cheerful tone. I roll my eyes and hold in some more bile as we hit some turbulence. yea... I'd MAYBE take you on your offer if it where on the GROUND.

About two more hours in the air and I can finally see it. The castle looks WAY more pretty than I could even imagine!! Definitely worth the sickening  mid-air trip and the three luggage bags I had to catch because they decided falling was better than flying. As we touched down I considered hopping out and kissing the ground. I decided not to. I am at the palace, better be on my BEST behavior. "Hello! Are you the new student?!" a young filly with blue fur and bright pink hair asks as she walks up.

"Uh... yea. I hope I'm not late."

"NOPE! Just in time! Five hours in the air took it's toll on you huh?" she almost seemed to know exactly how I felt the whole ride. "Haha!! Don't worry! Happens to the best of us!" she laughs and helps me with my bags.

"See ya kid!" Gregory yells as he waves and takes off. Nice guy, too bad his job is in the air. I don't envy him.

"OK the dorm rooms are this way, but first I think you should go see the princesses. I have a feeling they'd LOVE to meet you." The girl says as she walks away with my bags.

"Um... may I have my bags? Or do I have to try and give chase?" Clearly this girl isn't very good at stealing. She turns around and smiles widely.

"GOOD JOB!! Looks like you pass the first test!!" Now I'm confused. Students get to give newbies tests? My confusion was quickly smothered when the little girl about my age turns into a freaking ALICORN! And not just ANY alicorn. Her fur turns from blue to pure white and her mane and tail, from pink to silver. I take a few steps back as her wings unfurl in beautiful rainbow colors.

"Pri-Princess...... Rainbow Wing!" I say in shock as she trots next to me and smiles.

"Haha!! Too cute!! And your catlike features just adds to the whole ADORABLE factor!!" She says as she trots around me. I sit there shocked. A few seconds ago she was a little thief that I was about to blast into bits. And now she's PRINCESS RAINBOW WING! "So, would you mind telling me how you got to be part cat? Oooh!!! Do you mind if I call you a cat-pony?! Eeee!! I can't WAIT to show you to my sister! Oh! Wait, wait, wait... what if i just introduce you to EVERYONE!!" I'm beginning to wonder which of us is the filly here.

"Rainbow would you PLEASE stop harassing my new student?" I turn slowly. First I get to meet Princess Rainbow Wing, NOW I get to meet her sister?! I look and to my wonder there stands a nearly perfect copy of rainbow wing... only she's orange with red stripes on her horn and her mane and tail are a BEAUTIFUL blue that could swallow all the light the sun gives off. She seems shy as she timidly walks up next to me. "Hello Shelly. Its nice to finally meet you." O.M.G. she actually said my name.... are students allowed to fan girl over their teachers?  "So may I expect to see you at dinner tonight?" i stand there for a few seconds in admiration but quickly snap myself back into matureness.

"Uh... um... is that... allowed?" I didn't want to say yes if i wasn't allowed to. Princess Sunburst merely smiles and nods her head slightly. I hold in my fan girl side and nod back.

"OK. Your dorm room is number three-four-five. Go there and get ready, unpack and wash up. I'll see you in four hours. You don't need to where anything special... just this." Princess sunburst pulls out a beautiful hair clip with the royal insignia on it. "This will grant you entry into the dining chambers. Don't be late." She says, handing me the hair clip and dragging her sister behind her whom is still begging to show me off to the rest of the kingdom. I chuckle and lift my bags with my magic.

"Well, this should be fun!" I say as i trot to the dorms.
