The secret of Crystal Haze

It was a normal night in Ponyville, and Mr. And Mrs. Cake were in a big rush.

"Carrot, did you call the sitter?" Mrs. Cake asked.

"Yes, dear." Mr. Cake responded.

"Mama, what's going on?" Pumpkin Cake asked.

"Pumpkin, your brother has had a really bad fever all day. So we're taking him to the hospital just to make sure he's okay." Mrs. Cake said. "But not to worry, we called your favorite sitter since Pinkie is attending the Crystalling of Princess Me Amore Cadenza and Prince Shining Armor's baby."

"You mean Crystal Sugar!"

"Yes I do, sweetie."

Pumpkin proceeded to jump around while Mr. Cake answered the knock at the door. A young unicorn with light green fur, a black mane and tail, a cupcake with bright blue frosting and covered in jewles was her cutie mark, and in her orange colored magic aura, she heald a plush bunny for Pound.

"Hi Mr. Cake. Hi Mrs. Cake," Crystal said, "I brought this bunny for Pound, to make him feel better."

"Thank you, Crystal." Mrs. Cake said. "Carrot, Pound, C'mon."

"Coming, Mama." Pound said with a raspy voice.

"Hey, Pound." Crystal said sweetly, "got you this to make you feel better."

Pound took the plush bunny and smiled.

"Thanks Crystal." He said.

"C'mon, sweetie. Let's get you to the doctor. The sooner we leave, the sooner you feel better. Thanks again for coming on such short notice, Crystal." Mrs. Cake said.

"It's cool, Mrs. Cake. I love watching Pumpkin. Anyway, you get Pound to the doctor. See you later."

Mr., Mrs., and Pound Cake walked out of Sugarcube Corner and hailed a cab.

"Crystal," Pumpkin said, "Can you tell me the story of how you got your cutie mark?"

"Oh, Pumpkin," Crystal chuckled, "you don't want to hear that old story again."

"Oh, Crystal, I do!"

"Oh, okay. I was no older than you at that time. Your mom and dad heald they're first annual Filly and Foal Cupcake Competition for your's and your brother's baby shower. I was the youngest there, and I didn't have my cutie mark yet. Once the competition was underway I was baking up a storm. I made a dozen of Crystal Empire cupcakes, since I was born in Canterlot and raised in the Crystal Empire, I had to stay true to my roots. After I won the baking competition, your mom told me to look at my flank, and I noticed that I had gained my cutie mark."

"Wow, Crystal. I want to get my cutie mark just like you!"

"All right now, Pumpkin, Time for bed."

"Okay, Crystal."

Pumpkin tried to sleep, but thought too much about finding her cutie mark. She then used her blue magic aura to write a note.

Dear Crystal,

I'm going to the Everfree Forest to find my cutie mark. See you later! :)

"Pumpkin, you asleep?" Crystal asked as she walked into Pumpkin's room, but gasped seeing a note instead of a sleeping filly in bed.

"The Everfree Forest. Don't changelings live in caves there?! Pumpkin Cake! Oh, I have to save her, she doesn't know what she's getting herself into! I'm coming, Pumpkin!"

Crystal cast a spell to teleport her to the outskirts of the forest, where she saw the quick wisp of Pumpkin's bright orange tail, and started to run after her. Crystal saw Pumpkin stop at a cave, looking at a thousand glowing green eyes. Changelings. And they're about to attack.

Crystal ran up to Pumpkin and pushed her.

"Pumpkin, run!" Crystal yelled.

"But---," Pumpkin started to say.

"Just run!"

Pumpkin did as she was told, right before an entire army of changelings attacked Crystal. One hoof in her face, another hit her in the stomach, fangs and horns ripping at her flesh, hisses and screeches of changelings and the sound of her own screams filled the air. Crystal's whole world was going dark.

This is the end. she thought, before the whole world went dark.

A voice cut through the noise of the changelings fighting over food.

"Leave her alone, or you will all face me!" A Voice Boomed.

All the changelings whimpered and hid once again in the cave.

"That's what I thought!" the voice said again.

As the voice silenced, an alicorn with dark blue fur, and hair that looked like the midnight stars fluttered down to check on the injured unicorn.

"Princess Luna!" Pumpkin Yelled.

"Do you know who this is, little one?" Luna asked Pumpkin.

"Uh-Huh. Her name is Crystal Sugar, she's my sitter. She saved me from the monsters."

"Good thing you know her, because we need to get her to the hospital."

"Why is it a good thing that I know her?"

"Because, if we know her name, we'll be able to track down her parents. I'll take us to the ER."

"Why?"

"Because she's hurt really bad, little one. If we don't get her to help, she might die."

"I don't want her to die, Princess Luna."

"Then we have to get her to the hospital, and fast, little one."

Princess Luna used her light blue magic aura to teleport, Crystal, Pumpkin, and herself to the nearest hospital.

"Hello," Nurse Redheart said from behind the desk, "Welcome to Ponyville Memorial Hospital. How can I help you, Princess Luna?"

"Hello to you, too." Princess Luna Replyed, "But now is not a time for light chatter. I have an injured young unicorn, in desperate need of medical attention."

Nurse Redheart was in shock seeing Crystal in that bad of a condtion, but she knew immediately what to do.

"Nurse Honeybee, Nurse Snowflake, we need a stretcher. There's a young unicorn here suffering from severe injuries."

The two other nurses nodded and ran to get a stretcher.

"Pardon me Princess, but how was she injured?" Nurse Redheart asked.

Pumpkin piped up.

"She got hurt by monsters while trying to keep me safe."

"What the little one means is, Crystal Sugar here was injured by an army of changelings while trying to keep her protected."

Nurse Redheart looked at Pumpkin.

"Sweetie, are Mr. And Mrs. Cake your mommy and daddy?" She asked sweetly.

"Uh-Huh." Pumpkin said.

"Okay, sweetie. Nurse Stardust will take you to your mommy and daddy, while Princess Luna helps me take care of her."

Nurse Stardust walked up to the filly and began to lead her to Mr. and Mrs. Cake, just as Nurse Honeybee and Nurse Snowflake returned with a stretcher.

Within a matter of an hour, Princess Luna, Nurse Redheart,  Doctor Silverleaf, Pumpkin, Mr., And Mrs. Cake were in Crystal's room.

"Mama, where's Pound?" Pumpkin asked.

"Pound is staying the night, sweetie." Mrs. Cake answered. "He has to have his tonsils removed tomorrow."

"Oh."

Princess Luna saw that now was a good time to speak.

"Pardon me, doctor, but will Crystal recover?"

"Hard to say, Princess." Doctor Silverleaf said. "Due to her injuries, her body has sent her into a comatose state. Just be prepared for the worst."

"Pardon me, Princess," Mr. Cake said, "but aren't you supposed to be in the Crystal Empire?"

"The Crystalling is over, I have my nightly duties. I must uphold them."

"Oh," Mrs. Cake said. "Let's just hope that Crystal gets better soon."
