Forgery saw the signs, any changeling with the least foresight could. He saw everything beginning to fall apart with the mad plan. The groupthink was incredible, mindless praise of Queen Chrysalis, but even through it, so many voices, so many thoughts and emotions, hesitant. They worried. There was a storm on the horizon, unlike any before it. It was stick around and die, or face the dangerous unknown that was Equestria.

But when he broke ranks and wound up in Canterlot's statue garden of all places, being rapidly approached by several patrols, he just had to fall back on relying on the queen. The queen he abandoned, thinking her mad and plotting to end their very species. No evil deed goes unrewarded, it would seem. Verity and forgery, truth and lie both would be needed to dig out of this mess, and to survive and thrive far from his queen's clutches, but truth doesn't come easy for a changeling.
