The Flurry Conspiracy

"What a spectacle that was, huh?" remarked Rainbow Dash, kicking back and finally relaxing after the crazy adventure, now that they were all cosy on the train home.

"Honestly, if a winter like that ever came t' Sweet Apple Acres, our business would be totally broke," commented Applejack.

"And that's not even the craziest part!" added Pinkie.

"What? A huge winter with blizzards and all that, and you think that wasn't the craziest part?" said Rainvow. "Then what is?! And I swear, if you say the fact that the snowpony you built remained intact afterwards..."

"Flurry Heart!" Pinkie told them. "Didn't you see what a strong flyer she was?"

"But Pinkie, that's because she's an alicorn..." pointed out Twilight.

"Yeah, but she's only a baby!" Pinkie had her hooves in the air for emphasis. "You need to use magic to lift a heavy stack of books!"

She gasped. "What if she's a super-baby who got dropped into a vat of radioactive material?!"

"Um... let's go with more realistic ideas, shall we?" suggested Twilight.

"Hmm... you're right," agreed Pinkie. "Instead of it happening through radioactive fluid... maybe Cadance drank soda while she was pregnant? I now know why you're not supposed to drink soda when you're pregnant."

"It's almost like Discord was involved in this," suggested Rainbow.

"Oh no, don't any of you worry," said Fluttershy. "He's staying in his realm. I hear a restaurant there is serving sunny side up eggs at a discount. I hope he remembered not to look directly at them, because that would damage his eyes..."

But Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash still weren't satisfied. "How do we get there?" asked Rainbow.

"Well, I think Discord has to take you there himself," answered Fluttershy.

"Even I haven't been able to figure that one out..." added Pinkie, at which Rainbow was shocked.

"But I think he'll be home by the time we get back."

"That's it," said Rainbow Dash. "As soon as we do, I've got some questions I need to politely ask..."

"DISCORD!!!"

The draconequus woke with a start, waving his arms around rapidly in surprise. "Oh, er... hello there, Rainbow Dash. May I help you?" asked Discord.

"Alright, buddy, you better talk," snapped Rainbow. "We may be friends now, but I still know what your powers are and what you can do with them. First question - where were you when we heard Princess Cadance and Shining Armor were having a baby?"

"Why, just enjoying a game of ballbase." Discord put on a sports helmet and used a bat-shaped ball to hit a ball-shaped bat.

"Next question - what did you do from then until she was born?"

"It's a filly?!" Discord's eyes sparkled with delight. "How adorable!"

"Yeah yeah, a sight to behold," replied Rainbow hastily. "Back to the question - what were you doing the whole time?"

"Simply leading a normal life like anypony else," answered Discord. "Going grocery shopping, watching the weather forecasts... did you hear about the shower of Skittles that's supposed to happen? It'll last quite a few days, apparently."

"Hmm..." Rainbow surveyed him suspiciously. "There's something you're not telling me. What kind of draconequus acts normal? As a friend of the Princess of Friendship, I request that you grant me access to your dimension."

"Can you do that?" asked Discord, tilting his head and raising his eyebrow.

"Well, sure!" Rainbow told him, trying to look as confident as possible. "Don't talk back to me. Let me see what's in there."

"Why, of course." Discord lifted up the couch cushion. "Gum wrappers... loose change... this wasn't here last time I looked before you stayed here a few nights..."

"Not that..." Rainbow groaned pointedly. "In your dimension."

Discord sheepishly smiled and nodded. He snapped his talons, and in an instant, he and Rainbow had vanished in a puff of smoke.

Rainbow Dash was beginning to wish she'd taken into account what traveling to Discord's realm would actually be like. It felt like she was being pulled through a taffy puller which was going in a plethora of directions with sharp turns and twists at every corner. "AAArrreeeeeEe we thEEERRRRRREEE yET?" she managed to get out.

"Patience, my good mare," said Discord, coming through perfectly without such a crazy way of going through the portal.

At last, the portal spat both of them out onto a road. They had reached Discord's world.

"Wow... so this is where you live?" Rainbow was awestruck at the place. The sky was a multitude of neon colors, with the houses being built in many impossible ways that must have violated every regulation in the book.

"It's nothing, really," said Discord modestly. "I've been getting very bored of this place. Staying at Fluttershy's cottage is a pleasant retreat."

"Oh, I almost forgot. We need Cadance, Shining, and Flurry Heart here too," added Rainbow quickly.

"Very well." Discord snapped his talons again, and right then and there, the royal couple materialized.

"Huh?!" exclaimed Rainbow. "But I had to go through a crazy, out-of-control portal before I got here."

"So did we..." Cadance informed them.

Rainbow opened her mouth to question how this could possibly be, but then closed it. "I won't ask. All you need to know is that Discord doesn't think there's any fun in making sense."

"Why are we here?" asked Shining. "We already had another wacko adventure. I was ready to turn in for the night."

"By request of Rainbow Dash," explained Discord. "She was asking about the baby you two have had. Though I haven't the slightest clue why she would expect me of all people to know... all I do know is that your baby is simply adorable." He stroked her with his talon. "Aren't you? Yes you are..."

Flurry Heart began to tear up from how scary Discord's face looked close up, so Cadance had to pull her away and stick a pacifier in her mouth. "You... think he was involved in it, don't you? From all the crazy happenings Flurry's magic caused?" she said to Rainbow. "Look, Rainbow Dash, let me just tell you now that Discord has had NOTHING to do with this. Can we go home now?"

"Why so quick to leave?" asked Rainbow suspiciously.

"Because there's a casserole in the oven and I don't want the oven blowing up," deadpanned Cadance.

"Fine..." said Discord. "But may I snuggle your little baby one last time?"

"No."

"Pretty please?"

"No."

"But she's so cute and adorable and..."

"Oh, okay..." Cadance finally gave in. "But if she cries and causes chaos, we're suing you for every whatever-currency-is-used-here you've got."

So Discord gave Flurry another petting. To the surprise of the others, Flurry actually returned the favor, nuzzling him and hugging him. She hadn't tried to fly away like she had when Shining had chased her.

Even Rainbow Dash couldn't resist getting all sappy over the moment. "You two make a good pair..."

"Riiight..." said Cadance, looking around. "I really would like to get going..."

It was then that Flurry made a noise that sounded impeccably like a word.

"Pa... pa..."

Immediately, all the other eyes in the area turned to Cadance, who was on the spot, her legs wobbling beneath her...

"Honey?" Shining said at last. "What's all this?"
