Chapter 1: Life as Twins
In the middle of a large desert is a small town, no larger than seven buildings, well known for their great pies and tarts, thanks to a certain pony that lives there. The small town has a train station just on the edge of it so allow for transport of these goods, and on that station is the pony who creates the world famous pies and tarts, her name is Treacle Tart and she is sat on a bench on the platform right now with her twin sister Moonshine, both waiting for the next train to Canterlot for the wedding.
Moonshine is asleep on the bench, legs wide open and very un-lady like, “Moonshine.....Moonshine, wake up...” she hears in the darkness, it sounds quiet but is getting louder as she concentrates on it, her face scrunching up now and then as she groans in her sleep, “HAY, SIS’! Train’s here, we gotta go.....MOONSHINE!!” the voice shouts before she feels a sharp pain across her back leg, she suddenly wakes and look down to see her leg red raw and Treacle stood looking at her but then over her shoulder to see the train pulling up, grabs a bag with her mouth from under the bench and runs over to the edge of the platform.
Moonshine rubs her eyes before looking over to the edge where her sister is stood waiting for the train as it slowly pulls up to the station, she swings herself round to sit up on the bench and looks down both ways of the station to see the whole length of the train, normally they would just take up the length of the station but this one was much longer, she couldn’t think of why but then it hit her suddenly that it was the train to Canterlot.
She goes to get up off the bench quickly but her legs fail her and she collapses to the floor to end up having her face planting against the floor, she peels her face off the concrete floor and turns as she pushes herself up so that she can grab her bag, as she reaches under it to get it she looks over to her left to see a grey stallion stood laughing at her, stood with another pony, his mane white with bits of blue in it, he is wearing a large coat too, as if he is hiding something, she can clearly see that he is a unicorn though by the large horn upon his large noggin.
She watches his as the pony taps him on the shoulder, kisses him and walks off as he boards the train, “Moonshine, will you hurry, we’ll never get there at this rate.” The orange mare with curly yellow hair calls back to her, she looks over her shoulder to see her sister already on the train and poking her head out of a window to shout at her, she jerks up to head for the train, banging her head on the bench in the process, she dashes for the door just as it starts to close, she collapses once again inside the train as she just makes it, the door closes and she shouts in pain, looks back to see her tail caught in it and tugs only for the end of it to rip off.

She rests her head on the back on the chair just as she train jolts as it starts to set off for Canterlot, Treacle juggling about in her bag to look for a book she brought for the journey, Moonshine trying her best to get comfy but the leg-room isn’t much in this second-class carriage, she stops a colt who looks to be the conductor of the second-class carriages, “Excuse me young sir, but us fine mares seem to be having trouble with our seat, the leg room simply isn’t enough for us to get comfortable, would you mind upgrading us to first-class, please?” she asks in a very charismatic voice, eyes fluttering in an attempt to persuade him.
He looks at her over the top of his glasses to look into her eyes with his, “I’m sorry ma’am but I can’t just let you, you would have to pay an extra 4 bits per pony if you want to get up there.” He replies while pointing up the train. She thumps the back of her head on the seat-back like a child not getting sweets. He goes to walk on but she stops him again and kneels on her chair to get to face height with him, “Ok then, how about this for a payment...” she says while staring right into his eyes, “Meet me in the cargo hold in ten minutes, and I will give you your payment, a payment for being such a fine conductor.” She says before sitting back down and looking ahead while giving him a slight glance, his face blank but then finally gets it, his face full of shock then gives a lovingly look to her and walks off to the next carriage.
She sits there proud of herself, giving Treacle a glance as she rests her head for a bit, Treacle finally finding her book and then uses her magic to lift her bag up and onto the shelves above her, Moonshine watching as she does, “The leg room is horrendous, do you want more room?” Moonshine asks her sister who is already engrossed into her book.
“Yeah, why not....wait, we can’t pay more for first class, all the money we have left is already used for other things.”
“Don’t worry, I have it covered.”
“What, did you bribe the conductor or something?” she asks as she lowers her book to look at Moonshine to the side with her eyes.
“If you can call it bribing, then yes.” She replies before looking at the clock on the wall above the door, “I need to go, back in about twenty minutes.” She says to her sister who has given up with talking to her and is back on her book, she gets out of her chair, walks down the aisle and stops just of the seat that the grey stallion is sat at but he doesn’t notice her as he stares out of the window, she sneakily takes a peek down at him to see a couple of feathers sticking out of the bottom of his coat, her eyes widen large as she realises that this stallion isn’t just a unicorn but an Alicorn, ‘impossible’ she thinks to herself as there is no way there can be another Alicorn other than Luna and Celestia, no way.
She shakes her head and carries on past him and through the door leading into the next carriage and all the way down to the cargo carriage, the Alicorn looking round as soon as she leaves, he looks over to her seat to see her gone and sort of has a little panic as he has been keeping her in his sights all this time and now she’s gone.
He looks about to try and find her, even leaning over to look through the door to see if she had went into the next carriage but he can’t see her anywhere, he gets out of his seat, adjusts his coat to cover him right over, he then heads over to Moonshine’s seat, “Excuse me, is this seat taken?” he asks Treacle who doesn’t even say anything but knods her head, he sits down in Moonshine’s seat, Treacle then finally reacts as something pokes her side from him, he quickly grabs his coat and covers his wing that poked her and tries to cover up what just happened. Both of them quickly end up in conversation and getting to know each other, Treacle a bit shy about it and the stallion more forward and confident.
In the cargo carriage, Moonshine is sat on a large crate with legs spread out and front hooves on the crate behind her taking her weight a bit, she waits there for only about half a minute before the door opens and she can see the conductor stood with his suit on in the doorway, she smiles at him as he walks up over to her and looks into her eyes and starts to take off his suit, she leans forward to him and helps him with it while kissing on his cheek, he moves his head forward so that they are both ear to ear and she kisses him up and down his neck while he finally gets the suit off and doesn’t play about, getting straight to it and mounts the crate to thrust into her.

“Yes, I am an Alicorn, but I have lived a life of hiding it because if the princesses found out, I would be banished for possible threat to them, but I don’t want their throne, I just want to live my life like everypony else.” He replies, Moonshine still not forgiving him for making her fall, grabs her bag and storms out of the carriage towards the first-class area.
Treacle uses her magic to get her bag and puts her book in there and thanks to him as she pushes her way past him and follows Moonshine. He watches as she leave, when the door opens he can see Moonshine storing at him with a huge, maniacal grin upon her face, he wipe his eyes to see Moonshine facing the other way with Treacle following right behind her. He sits down on the chair and think about what he just say, he then grabs at the conductor’s suit as he passes by, “Excuse me, could I pay for a first-class seat.” He asks, the conductor looks down at him.
“I’m sorry but I’m not into gay stuff.” He says before walking off past him, the stallion confused by what he just said, he jumps up to rest on the back of the chair and pulls out some bits.
“But I just want to pay for a seat...” he says to the conductor who calmly looks back and gives him a ticket with his magic and takes the bits. He then runs down to his seat, grabs his bag and dashes towards the first-class, teleporting through the conductor as he runs down the aisle, the conductor shouting him to stop just as he gets to the door.
“Please sir. Do not run on the train, just walk.” He orders calmly, the stallion knods and turns to walk over to a seat right behind Moonshine’s and Treacle’s. He puts his bag away and sits down only for Moonshine to be looking through the middle of the seat and scares him as he sits and sees her.
“What are YOU doing here?” she asks him, a hoof on his chest lowers as he composes himself after the fright.
“I liked talking to your friend there and thought I would get a seat so that I could get to know about her and you since you seem a nice pony except when you stared at me.” He explains, she raises an eyebrow, not knowing what the hay he is on about.
“I never stared at you; I have no need to do that.” She replies, only for him to go and speak but stops himself and shakes his head.
“Forget about it, so you’re Moonshine, and your friend here is Treacle....well my name is Nix, Nix Spark.” He introduces himself to her, Treacle pushes her out of the way and shoves a hoof through the gap to shake hooves with him then goes back to read as Moonshine sneers at her before looking through the gap to look at Nix.
“So, I take it you two fine mares are on this train for the wedding?” he asks.
Treacle goes to answer but Moonshine interrupts her, “Yeah, the damn wedding....Treacle can’t wait but I’m not a big fan of that kind of thing, personally.”
“So how did you two meet, if I may ask?”
“We’re sisters, well more like twins, but obviously not identical twins.”
“Ohmy, I never knew, I’m sorry; I thought you were just friends, my apologies.”
Treacle then manages to get a word in...Finally, “It’s ok, almost everypony thinks we’re just friends, believe me, if you knew us more you wouldn’t think we were sisters, we are nothing alike. Are we Moonshine?” she sternly asks Moonshine who looks to the side, which to Nix, at the chair.
“Yes, your highness, we are nothing alike, I’m all fun and you’re no fun at all, we complete each other.”
“No need for that, you should be nice to me, since we have a friend here.”
Moonshine then sits back on her chair so that he can’t see her, “Friend? We hardly know the guy, I don’t trust him....he’s a bucking Alicorn, we could either kill us or rape us or anything whenever he wants to.” She whispers so that he can’t hear but he does.
“Moonshine, your dream has always been to buck an Alicorn hasn’t it? You would love it if he did; I know that for a fact.” She corrects only for Moonshine to lean across to grab her but looks through the gap to see Nix looking at her with a seductive look.
She pulls Treacle towards her to look through the gap, “See look at him.”
Nix chuckles and rests his head on the back of his chair before closing his eyes to get some sleep, as the journey will take some time, Moonshine doing the same a little later as Treacle reads her book.
<2 hours later>
The leading conductor of the train opens the door and stands just in front of it as he gets ready to say something, another conductor wakes Nix and Moonshine up so that they can hear what he has to say, “Excuse me Sir and Miss, but you need to wake up, the leading conductor has an announcement to make.” He says to them as they eventually wake up, Nix wakes up first and is almost instantly wide awake as he sits up straight and looks to the front of the carriage, Moonshine taking a little longer to wake up, her legs spread right out and her mouth open and drooling onto the chair.
“Mares and Gentlecolts, I have some rather bad news for you. The route to Canterlot has been stopped for security reasons, and so we will be making a slight diversion, but we will be organising transport for those who wish for it.” He says before bowing and heading back through the door he came in.
Gossip starts up among the other ponies as Moonshine and Treacle look at each other to think of what the problem could be, Nix not so bothered as he seem to only care for being with Moonshine and Treacle at the moment.
The trains starts to slow down as it pulls up to a split in the track, one heading for the castle, the other heading to a small village, the tracks change and the train head towards the village, soon arriving at it and a voice can be heard, “Last stop, Ponyville.”
Moonshine isn’t best pleased by this and starts to rant on about why she paid to go to Canterlot but yet is at some silly little village. As the train stops she is pulled off by a couple of conductors who aren’t happy with her behaviour and throw her off the train, Treacle and Nix just casually following.
They throw Moonshine onto the platform and walk back onto the train, one then throws her bag out at her, “That was unacceptable of you, you should be ashamed.” He says before closing the door, she huffs before getting up and grabbing her bag, Treacle stood next to her shaking her head.
“What now Treacle?” she asks as she dusts herself down.
“I don’t know, we’ll just have to look about for a bit and then think of how we’ll get there.”
“Fine.....but don’t expect me to be doing anything I won’t like.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t.” She says before heading off the station and into the village, Nix following.
“Hay Nix, what are you doing?” Moonshine asks him.
“I will stay with you until you decide what to do, I live in Cloudsdale anyway so....” he replies before heading into the village with Moonshine alongside him.
The three of them then walk off into the village only to arrive in the village centre and see that the place is completely full of ponies and market stalls.
Moonshine then pipes up, “So this is Ponyville.”
