Prologue - Purple Haze

Purple Haze
Vinyl Scratch opened her eyes, blinking as rays of impossibly bright sunlight streamed through a thin crack in the dark curtains.
"Ow." A soft moan escaped her lips as she turned her head, waves of pain undulating around inside her skull. She rubbed her hoof just below the horn protruding from her brow, where the pain was strongest.
"Where the hell..." She murmured glancing about the small room. Her eyes drifted through the semi darkness, noticing as she went unfamiliar objects. Since when have I liked MC W1sh? She wondered, her eyes stopping on a crooked poster hanging on the opposite wall. Or collected miniatures figures of ...myself?
This wasn't her room...
She glanced down at the blanket draped around her middle. She touched it lightly with her hoof, finding the fabric soft, like silk.
Vinyl didn't have silk sheets...
This wasn't her bed!
The unicorn ignored the throbbing pain in her head as she hurriedly levitated the blanket up and away, discarding it randomly at the foot of the bed. Her eyes flew wide as she saw a pony curled up next to her, his head snuggled to her chest, his horn creasing her fur as it pressed lightly into her rib cage. His eyes fluttered weakly and he murmured incoherently, trying to pull the discarded blanket back over himself, his hoof grasping weakly at empty air.
Vinyl screamed, her shout waking the strange pony fully.
He... he was a stallion! She was in bed with a... Oh Celestia what have I done!
Vinyl drew her hoof back, slamming it into the pony's jaw. His head snapped back with the force of the blow and he fell to the floor. The stallion was dazed, his head cradled in his hooves, groaning softly. Vinyl scrambled off the bed, her legs tangling in the sheets, waves of fresh pain coursing through her skull at the sudden commotion.
"Who the hell are you!" She shouted, as she struggled out of her cloth prison, her head pounding.
"Neon Lights." The pony answered slowly, as he got to his hooves, swaying unsteadily.
"N...Neon? Why...Why were you in my bed?"
The stallion looked puzzled. He glanced from Vinyl to the bed then back again. "Your bed? This is..." The stallion hesitated as realization crept to his face. "Holy shit!"

At least he isn't ugly. Vinyl thought to herself, mentally face-hoofing right after, as she gaped at the stallion like a drowning fish.
The stallion was a unicorn, like she was, but taller and stockier, as stallion's tended to be. His coat was an interesting hue, something blueish gray, while his mane and tail were both a dark rich ebony. He ran a hoof across his bloodshot eyes, his blue irises the color of a cloudless sky.
“Wow, Vinyl...I don't...I don't know where to start.” He winced, placing a hoof to his head. “Is this what a hangover feels like?”
“Yes.” She answered, her stupor slowly turning to disbelief. “You've never had a hangover?”
“Would you believe it?” The stallion gave her a small smile. “The incredible MC W1sh has never had a hangover.”
“That's...” Vinyl stopped.
MC W1sh?
The unicorn cast her eyes to the poster on the wall. 'MC W1sh' was emblazoned on the poster in a stylized font at the bottom left corner while a silhouette of a pony stood in the center. Blazing neon lights flared in the background, the painfully bright colors dulled by the semi darkness of the room.
“Vinyl?” She turned her attention back to the stallion as he addressed her.
“Wait, let me get this straight,” She said holding up a hoof, stopping whatever it was he'd been about to say. “You, Neon Lights, are MC W1sh?”
“Yes...” The pony answered, a hesitant lilt trailing his words.
“Oh wow, this is, this is gonna be bad.” She said getting to her hooves.
“Vinyl?” The stallion said stepping toward her, reaching out with a pleading hoof, stumbling slightly.
“Where are my shades?” Vinyl asked suddenly, a desperate edge to her voice.
She moved about the room like a force of nature, tearing through drawers and knocking the stallion's miniature DJ Pon-3 figures to the floor. He hurried to pick them up, levitating them back to their previous places. “Hey watch it!”
“I want my shades!” The mare said acidly. “I need my shades!”
She shoved past the stallion, hopping onto the bed and digging frantically through the sheets, as well as the blanket she discarded not five minutes before.
“You need to calm down.” The stallion said, surging forward.
He pinned Vinyl to the bed, straddling her as she struggled against him. Her furious red eyes glowered up at him like two burning embers, tearing daggers into his heart as it thumped painfully inside his chest. He slammed his lips to hers muffling her protests. Gradually her body loosened, her lips returning his kiss with equal vigor. Both ponies were breathing heavily as they broke apart, the blush far more visible on Neon's face despite his darker color.
“S...Sorry!” The stallion apologized hastily.
Vinyl only gaped, her mouth still slightly pursed.
A shrill whistle caught the pair's attention and as one they turned their heads toward the door, now open and occupied. A pale orange pegasus stood in the doorway dangling a familiar pair of purple tinted shades tauntingly at Vinyl with the tip of her wing. “Colt's got you whipped Vinyl.”
Neon blushed furiously, realizing the incriminating position he was in. The white unicorn glared dangerously at the orange mare, her eyes moving between the glasses and the playful grin on the other pony's face. “Oh don't worry, they're perfectly fine. I watched them all night, just like you asked.”
“I 'asked' you to watch my shades?” Vinyl inquired, skeptically.
Neon looked from one mare to the other.
Why were there mares in his house?
Why was Vinyl in his bed...with him?
“How did you put it again?” Spitfire glanced upward toward the ceiling pantomiming deep thought, a devilish smirk crossing her face as she feigned remembrance. “Oh that's right, ' Hold these for me. I'm gonna show this pony how a real DJ wubs'.”
“I...I did not!” The unicorn mare stuttered, shooting an inquiring peek towards the sulking stallion. “Did I?”
Neon shrugged.
Spitfire's amused smile faltered.
“Please tell me at least one of you remembers what happened last night?” Spitfire said, passing her gaze between the pair of confused ponies. Neon sat in the corner of the room looking ashamed of himself while Vinyl looked... Vinyl looked angry. The unicorn tore the shades out of Spitfire's grip with a flourish of magic, quickly hiding her eyes behind them.
“Okay,” Spitfire admitted, suddenly serious. “This might be bad.”

Author's Note
So that was a thing...
Actually this has been on my computer for good couple of years now. I stumbled upon it the other day...
I'm not sure if I should label it as 'Mature' for the implication that Neon and Vinyl slept together. (I don't plan on going into extravagant, or any, detail should that occur mind you...this ain't a clop-fic.)
Honestly I don't even know if they did or not. I like a good tease myself.
Anyway...
As for the pairing I don't know much about Neon's supposed personality, so don't hate me for taking liberties. The same goes for Vinyl, or anypony else, though I personally don't read fan fiction for the cannon anyhow. It's more fun when it's willy-nilly, off the wall, what the hell did I just read...
Moving on...
The story isn't written beyond this point so if you like it and want me to keep going let me know and we'll see what happens.
And if somebody were to draw any art for it, (or my other stories,) I like fan art...
But don't feel obligated or anything...
(For those wondering if my other stories will be finished - yes - but they are currently extremely raw and under editing of sorts....)
