Jokes on you!

It was morning, April first. And Twilight was still asleep. Not because she wanted to sleep in, mind you.

In fact, the sun wasn't scheduled to rise for another hour or so.

But, out of nowhere, she felt a tickling on her nose, and went to swat it. To her surprise, her hoof was covered in whipped cream. Or, she hoped that's what it was.

Now wide awake, Twilight began her morning routine. Brush her teeth, eat breakfast, then hold Friendship Court. April Fools or not.

So, yawning loudly, Twilight walked into her bathroom and began brushing her teeth, only to find her toothpaste was hot sauce. Sreaming from the sudden spice, Twilight thrust her entire head into her sink. After a few seconds, she resurfaced.

Now grumbling to herself, Twi was cautious.

She checked her breakfast. Twice. Even the milk!!!

Then, she checked the throne room for traps.

"Twilight, what are you doing?" Starlight asked as she too entered the throne room.

"There's a prankster on the loose. They've already got me twice." Twilight explained without breaking her concentration on the task at hand.

Starlight paused, "What day is it?"

Twilight looked up at Starlight. "It's April 1st."

"Oh god. . ." Starlight gasped.

"I know, this could only end so well." Twilight sighed. She made her way over to Starlight. "Ok, I think there's nothing else here. I'm gonna go read to relieve my stress."

"Alright Twilight, have fun." Starlight told her before heading towards the kitchen.

A few minutes later found Twilight in her library. Surrounded by the one thing she knew could never betray her. Her books.

She hummed merrily to herself as she looked for a good book to read. "The Lord of the Ponies? Too long for just one day. . ." She muttered to herself, "The Mare, the Changeling and the Wardrobe? Nah, I've read it five times already."

Eventually, she found one. A big book on Equestria's surroundings. It was bookmarked at an entry about Saddle Arabia.

"Ahh. " Twilight sighed as she sunk into her favorite chair. She slowly opened her book, and found that all of the words were flipped backwards. But before she could recover from her shock, the book caught fire!

So, Ponyville was woken by the yelling of one peeved Princess as April Fools day began.
