Prologue - Before Awakening...

Chapter 1 - The Awakening.

“Beep – Beep – Beep ….”

Eclipse’s ear twitched while the beepings of the viral monitors filled the room, making it the only sound he can hear.

His eyes, sore and dry, struggled to open a narrow gap, giving him a chance to scan around the environment he is currently in.

He’s in a small, neat room, with white walls, clear glass window panes at the left side of the room. A brown wooden door closed on the right side of the room. Next to his bed stacked a number of machines, including viral monitors, ventilator and lots of other weird machinery.

He’s in a hospital. He’s in an Intensive Care Unit ward.

After struggling for a while, he finally managed to open his eyes completely, giving him a clear image of the ward. A nurse came in a few minutes ago stood next to him. She switched on the radio after doing some checking on the machinery.

“And for today’s no.1 song of our list today, we bring you ‘The Spectacle’ aka ‘Razzle Dazzle’ sang by the one and only, Countess Coloratura!”

“Time for the spectacle, time for the show….”

The music filled the ward, covering the annoying beeps emitted by those machineries.

The nurse took a look at Eclipse’s exhausted face. Eclipse have no idea what to do or what to think, for he simply stared into the nurse’s pearl green eyes. His stare contains no emotion, no curiosity, nothing.

The nurse seemed to get surprised by Eclipse’s reaction, as she sprinted out of the ward, calling for a physician for medical assistance.

Not long after the nurse’s exit, a unicorn stallion with light grey fur calmly walked into the ward. The doctor is wearing a lab coat, a blue and red stripped tie. He hung a Stethoscope around his neck and some kind of cards too. He shut the ward door behind him gently.

“Greetings Captain, looks like some pony finally woke up.” He said, half joking.

“…”

“No worries Captain, you might suffer temporary brain and body part malfunctioning after waking up from a long coma and it’s very normal. Do give some time for your body to recover and adjust itself to adapt the significant change of the environment. There’s no use hurrying at all, we have plenty of time.” The doctor comforts Eclipse from his confusion.

“Long… long coma? Me? How… long?” Eclipse stumbled over his words, feeling anxious and confused at the same time. He surely didn’t know he fell into a long coma after the incident, he probably still thinks he just felt asleep after that incident.

“Well… you see, there’s no uses hiding the facts and history away from you.”

“What…?” Eclipse still find it very difficult to speak.

The doctor took a deep breath and started explaining, “If you still remember, the invasion of King Sombra. That day you detonate the ‘Rainboom Zero’, or ‘The Nuke’ as every pony nowadays prefers. You saved Canterlot and brought a glorious victory for the whole Equestria still rejoice until today. It’s such a pity you never had the chance to witness how awesome the world went on…”

“Let’s just make it clear. You have fell into coma for 13 years and 7 months.”

Eclipse didn’t show any major reaction or emotional breakdown surprisingly.

The doctor took a look at Eclipse, making sure he’s not destressed or anything.

“Very Well. Another point worth pointing out is…” He sighed before continuing. “I guess it will be better for you to face it by yourself.”

He raised a front hoof and pointed at Eclipse’s right side, indicating where Eclipse should look at.

Eclipse slowly turned his body to the left and twisted his neck the opposite direction. He rolled his eyes downwards at his right side. It is covered with Band-Aid and his right wing is simply missing. It’s gone.

Eclipse started to look very, very worried. He rapidly turned his body to the right and twisted his neck left and looked down. His left wing. It’s still here, attached to his back, looking strong and healthy.

“Do you want to know what happened to your right wing?” The doctor asked, “But I don’t guarantee that it will look good, but more likely disturbing, are you sure you still want to know?”

Eclipse nodded gently. He shows a curious face to the doctor. He seemed to start to realized what on Equestria is going on now.

The doctor whispered to the nurse standing next to him. The nurse nodded her head and stepped out of the ward. After a short duration of complete dead air, she returned back into the ward, with a white box on her back. On the side of that white box there’s a bright yellow label. Under a weird symbol it writes “Biological Material – Warning : Biological Hazard”.

The doctor lifted the lid of the white box and puts it aside. He then uses his magic to levitate 2 pieces of white body tissue, covered with some red spots that looks mostly likely to be blood. It is a torn up wing.

A wing.

His right wing.

Eclipse acted pretty calmly, rather than panic like what a normal pony would for knowing his or her wing got torn off, thanks to his supernatural calm and calculating mind. That’s what a truly professional engineer hides inside his head.

“I’m really sorry if that means you can no longer work in the Wonderbolts, return home at Cloudsdale or ever fly again. Also after that incident we found you suffering brain hemorrhaging, which means you might suffer severe memory lost and you might find it very difficult to remember things at the past. You might also suffer very minor space perspective errors. So please take your time while trying to resume your normal life.”

Eclipse lied back down. After listening to the doctor’s words his mind has gone blank. He can’t think of anything while his brain processes what he had said. He simply stared straight up at the plain white ceiling and sighed.

Chapter 2 - A Brand New World Out There.

Eclipse’s healing rate is amazingly significate, just 1 week after awakening, he can already talk, communicate, and do basically everything a normal Pegasus can do, except for flying, of course.

“Alright Captain, looks like you are getting well really quickly and I happy about that. According to your health report you are basically set for leaving. I already helped you register leaving tomorrow. So right now just take your time and take some rest.” The doctor said.

“Brilliant… Can’t believe I actually stayed in this place for 13 years. For Celestia’s sake I’m finally leaving here…” Eclipse mumbled to himself, glad that he can finally carry on with his live.

It’s 8am in the next day. Eclipse got up quite early this day, and now he’s fully awake and ready to leave this hospital. He walked out of the ward, took an elevator and reached ground floor really swiftly. Just when he is about to step out of the main door of the hospital, the doctor stopped him by yelling his name loud. Raising his front hoof, the doctor gave Eclipse a name card of him.

“Before you go Captain, here’s my name card. If you have any issue with your health or anything, do feel free to contact me. I will always be ready and at your service anytime.” The doctor bowed at Eclipse.

Eclipse took a look at the name card held be his left wing and said, “OK then. Thank you for taking care of me for these 13 years, Doctor…Blitzkrieg?”

The doctor gave Eclipse a warm and welcoming grin. “Alright then Captain, it’s a big world out there waiting for you.”

“Alright then, goodbye doc.” Eclipse waved a hoof and said goodbye to the doctor. He started trotting down the pathway.

“Dr. Blitzkrieg? That name sounded so… familiar… but I don’t remember where and when we met…” Eclipse started wondering about this Dr. Blitzkrieg which he thinks he had met him in the past. Before reaching the end of the hospital pathway, he stopped and turned his head back and look at the hospital. The doctor is still standing there, and there stood a sign there next to the main hospital building, with bold, red words it writes,

“Ponyville Central Hospital”

He continued walking and started thinking, “So I’m at Ponyville… Well now I can’t return to Cloudsdale, I have nothing here at all, I guess it’s better for me to find a new place to call home, a new job to earn some bits and probably some friends to help me out with my current situation…”

After a few hours of aimless wandering around the town, he found a place to rest, a bench outside a fashion shop.

“Hmm… Looks like a great place for me to start. Maybe I can find a job in there, and some pony to help me too.” Eclipse thought to himself.

“Dling – Dling” the door chimes rang as he pushed the shop’s door open. Inside the shop there are around 7 ponies, chatting with each other.

“Oh welcome there darling, is there anything that I may help you?” A white mare with purple, curly mane spoke, with a foreign accent he’s pretty sure she’s no local pony.

“Hang on girls…” A yellow and orange mare interrupted before Eclipse can even speak a single word.

“If I’m not mistaken, this stallion is Captain Eclipse from the Wonderbolts! That great war hero who suddenly just disappeared 13 years ago after King Sombra’s invasion!” The mare spoke excitedly.

“Wow… That’s kind of surprising… I didn’t expect some pony actually knows me. Am I really that famous?” Eclipse is very surprised to know that some pony actually knows him.

“Of course we do! Oh, where are my manners? I’m sorry for that. My name’s Spitfire, the current Drill Sergeant of the Wonderbolts, you can call me Spitz. Nice to meet you, legend.” The yellow-orange pony replied, showing total respect towards the war hero in the Wonderbolts.

“And my name’s Rainbow Dash, you can call me Dashie.” Another Pegasus mare with cyan fur, rainbow-like mane and a pair of rose red eyes spoke after Spitfire, “And these are my friends: Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy. I’m now a Team Captain in the Wonderbolts.”

“Well thanks everypony, but as you can see, I have lost my right wing after the war and can’t remember a lot of stuff from the past. Needless to say I knew nothing in these 13 years since I fell into a coma since that explosion. Now that I’m unable to fly, I can’t go back to my home at Cloudsdale and I most likely need to start a new life here in Ponyville.” He turned his body to show them that his right wing is gone.

“Well that’s not a problem at all, Eclipse. I know a friend that needs to hire a new assistant. She is willing to pay for the assistant and gives him a place to stay. If you are interested, I suggest you go check her out. She’s a magician and a performer in Ponyville. By the way I’m Twilght Sparkle, and you can call me Twilight” Twilight Sparkle said with a warm grin on her face.

“Awesome! I can’t wait to meet her” Eclipse replied, looking really thrilled and happy.

“And for tonight, you can stay in my castle. I have a spare guest room, or you can stay until you find yourself a new place to stay.” Twilight suggested, she is definitely curious about this stallion’s backstory.

“Wait… Your … Castle?” Eclipse seemed to be really confused about the word – castle.

For his reaction Twilight simply smirked, “Well I will explain later on, but it’s getting late now. Alright girls that’s it for today, See you all tomorrow!”

“Bye Twilight!” they all said goodbye to Twilight.

“We’ll talk after we arrived there.”

Twilight closed her eyes, a bright red aura started emitting at her horn and all in a sudden, “Poof”. They are inside a massive structure; they are in Twilight’s castle. Eclipse immediately felt really sick and almost want to vomit.

“What on Equestria just happened?” Eclipse asked, still trying to render what just happened.

“Nothing, it’s just my teleportation spell. For the first time using this spell it can make you feel sick, just

like what I did before, but it won’t last long.”

After a short rest, Eclipse felt much better and started to look around the castle. “So you own THIS castle… on your own?” He is totally amazed by the size of this building. This is also a thing rather surprising for him, considering his memory lost and space perspective error is constantly affecting him from sensing the environment around him.

“Yes! Every alicorn in Equestria have the privilege to own a castle! And just so you know I’m also an alicorn princess, The Princess of Friendship. Well theoretically this castle is mine, I actually own this castle with my other 5 friends and my personal assistant, Spike.” She stretched her wings towards Eclipse, proofing that she’s a legitimate alicorn princess.

“Great! Do tell me more things in these 13 years. I want to catch up what had happened.”

They started chatting about pretty much everything in Equestria, the history, the peace after the war. Their conversation lasted until midnight and still going.

Suddenly, a knocking on the castle door disturbed the absolute silence inside the building, making a gentle knock echoes into a large banging noise.

“Come in, door’s not locked” She replied.

The castle door slowly opened with a squeak. Outside stood 2 pegasi, one being Spitfire, another being Rainbow Dash. Behind them stacked boxes upon boxes of books and tools inside.

“Dashie? Spitz? What are you two ponies doing here at this time of the day?” Eclipse asked.

“Alright there legend. We know you can’t go back to Cloudsdale to get your stuff back, so we contacted the Property Management Department to finally reach your house to bring you all of your stuff” Spitfire said, looking extremely exhausted.

“Alright, thanks Spitz, thanks Dashie, you two should really get some rest now, you do look really tired.” Eclipse thanked the two mares.

“Gotta go sleep now, bye bye then.” Rainbow Dash yawned with her mouth wide open, she then dashed away from the castle, leaving a rainbow track in the midnight sky.

“Well then, see you later legend. I think I should go get some rest now.” Spitfire then flapped her wings and flew away.

Twilight levitated the boxes with her magic and took them all into the castle. She then gently closed the castle door with her hind hoof.

After Twilight have put down the boxes on the floor, they both started to unbox the contents immediately, looking forward to know about the contents. The content consists mostly of books about engineering, in which Twilight seemed to be really interested as she started scanning through them like a starving bookworm. Inside the boxes there are also those high-tech tools that looks weird and cool at the same time.

“So you do read a lot of books before, don’t you?” Twilight asked curiously, while her vision never even leave the pages.

“Well, I guess so… I can’t remember. But I guess ‘Yes’ is the answer for an engineer who built such weapons before…”

“It seems you will have some serious revision to do before you become an engineer again, Eclipse.” Twilight said, half joking.

“Yeah… Why not?....”

Chapter 3 - The Great and Powerful Trixie

“Are you sure that it is fine for me to just leave my stuff in this room here Twilight? I mean I’ve got quite a lot of stuff here…” Eclipse asked Twilight, concerning that his stuff occupying Twilight’s castle’s space.

“No problem there, just follow this address and you’ll find the mare you’re looking for. Don’t worry though, AJ will show you the way.”

“Alright there sugercube, let’s get going!” Applejack hopped into the air, feeling really energetic for whatever reason.

They said goodbye to Twilight and stepped out of the castle. He followed Applejack and navigated his way through the town. After a short walk they both arrived at a stage.

“Here’s where you can find that mare, ‘The Great and Powerful Trixie’ as she refers herself as. She’s kinda arrogant by the way so good luck for you sugercube.”

“Alright then, see you later Applejack.” Eclipse waved a hoof. He then turned towards the stage again, trying to figure out what to do next.

In a sudden, a light blue colored mare popped up from nowhere, and she shouted,

“THE GREAT, AND POWERFUL, TRIXIE~~~!”

“Whoa!” Eclipse got surprised by the shout and he fell backwards, landing on his back. After he had figured out what on Equestria just happened, he rapidly stood back up and tried not to look embarrassed.

“Mares and gentlecolts, for The Great and Powerful Trixie has 2 tricks to perform today for all of you!”

She then took a piece of wooden board and did some magic on it, she started throwing some stuff towards the board. Surprisingly those stuff didn’t stop and fall while it made contact with the board, instead it flew right through the board, and the board is still in one piece!

Then she took out another piece of wooden board and stood it parallel against the previous one, spacing them for around 10 feet apart from each other. And after some more magic, she jumped straight towards one of the boards and popped out from the other piece of board. She turned the boards in to portal!

Eclipse clapped his hoof hard after Trixie’s show. Not much of the other audience seemed to be amused and they just walked away, continue with their own business.

Trixie went down the stage and goes behind it. Eclipse followed the mare and meanwhile thinking, how should he start the conversation with her and what to say.

Soon Trixie arrived at a rather large trailer, which looks like to be her home. Right before she steps into her trailer, she seemed to have noticed that somepony is tailing her and therefore she turned around to see who it is. She saw Eclipse standing a few meters away from her.

“There, what may the Great and Powerful Trixie do for you?” She started.

“Well there, the Great and Powerful Trixie, I’m actually looking for a new job around and Princess Twilight Sparkle told me to find you and that you may need a new assistant…” Eclipse replied, not really sure about what should he say while talking to this mare.

“Hmpf.” She took a mocking smile “You? A Pegasus with only one wing, like how on Equestria am I gonna hire a Pegasus with one freaking wing?” She spoke with her nose high in the air, showing little to now respect to the war hero in front of her.

“Well although I can’t fly as you may have expected, I can still do the laboring work for you. Also I was a Wonderbolt Engineer and I can build and fix a lot of stuff.” Eclipse tried to act as calm and natural as he can possibly be while talking to this kind of racist and arrogant mare.

“Hmm… Very well then. Trixie can hire you. From now on you are Trixie’s personal assistant. That room there to the right is now yours.”

“Thank you very much then, Trixie” Eclipse thanked her, at least he has a job to gain some bits now.

She simply turned back towards her trailer and stepped in without any response, that’s how proud she can get.

“Great show of you by the way, I’m really entertained.” He added a line.

She stood still there for a moment, her ears twitched while she heard what Eclipse said, but soon went back to normal and went back to her room. Not a single word left her throat.

Eclipse smiled and sighed simply. Just one typical demanding mare.

At the very first month working for Trixie, she literally treated Eclipse nothing more than just a work horse. Eclipse is kind of busy for being her personal assistant, Doing setups and preparation for her shows, clean-ups and prop management, and basically all different kinds of laboring work. Although the salary is nowhere close to when he was in the Wonderbolts, it’s still a decent amount of bits.

During the days he works for Trixie, he spent almost all of his free time reading his books about engineering, hoping to regain a qualification of being an Expert Engineer. After some time, he came up with a crazy, innovative idea – why not build a device that can replace his right wing and fly again? That’s the thing. A bionic wing.

Within his pile of stuff in Twilight’s castle, he found some savings a long time ago in one of the boxes. I t was supposed to be used as rainy day funds, and now it finally come to a use. With some help of his friends he managed to come up with a design of a compact yet fancy prototype. He started to gather his resources around Ponyville.

After another month or two, Trixie finally started to warm up to Eclipse as she is much more willing to give credit to him for his effort. Also she started chatting with him and treats him more like a close friend than just a personal assistant.

As the days past, Trixie and Eclipse friendship grows stronger and stronger, up until a point where Eclipse found himself felt being more than just a close friend with Trixie. He can’t deny that she is actually rally good looking and can be genuinely really caring about the others sometimes.’

That’s the feeling. That one long lost sentiment in his heart after that long coma, love. He is having a crush on Trixie, but for Celestia’s sake he knows her personalities right. You can’t just simply walk up to her and tells her the fact. She just can’t accept it like this.

In his free time, he spends those time assembling and making tweaks on his bionic wing, he just can’t wait to fly around the limitless sky once again, just like what he used to do in the Wonderbolts 13 years ago. Right before he completes his prototype, he now has a new ‘Project’ in his hoof and he brainstormed really hard about how to make it as perfect as he can.

Performing on the stage is basically everything for Trixie. She legitimately cannot survive without performing on a stage, she is born for performing. And for any successful and enjoyable show, there’s always the one assistant that makes sure everything is ready and not gonna fail by any means. And for Eclipse he even design props and tricks for her to make more thrilling and somewhat crazy shows, and that’s probably one thing that made Trixie way more famous than before. So now he thinks, “For being her assistant I can always have access to all of her props. So as long as I not let her find out that I did some surprise on them, she won’t be suspicious until she performs the trick. Great idea!”

Trixie’s latest show starts tomorrow, so he hopped straight in to “prepare” the props. Trixie trusted Eclipse so much since Eclipse never

screwed up once in her shows, so she never suspects a thing whenever Eclipse just decided to mess with her props. Eclipse is definitely a really trusty personal assistant for her.

Eclipse dug through all of Trixie’s props, hoping to find the ones that is suitable for him to do some sneaky tricks on it without being spotted right away. This is very time consuming but he finally managed to complete his modification on the props and add the props to Trixie’s performing list for tomorrow. It’s already 11pm in the evening and Trixie is already asleep, conserving energy for tomorrow’s show. Eclipse walked back into his room and silently shut the door. After all of his hard work today he is exhausted and so he swiftly drifted to sleep. In his dream, he dreamt about how happy Trixie is to know about the surprise, and so as he.

It’s 7am in the morning, most of the ponies aren’t awake yet since today’s a weekend, Saturday to be exact. Eclipse is already awake and he started his day by going for a little jog around the town just as usual. Since there’s almost no pony on the street what so ever. The lonely street is so quiet that every step he made echoes into a big loud stomp around the streets. Some of the shops are already opened and waiting for customers. Eclipse went to one of the stores and bought 2 cans of RedPony energy drink. He paid with his last few bits in his pocket since Trixie haven’t paid him yet, and his savings is almost running empty for making the bionic wing.

After a 30-minute jog he made his way back to the trailer. He started to prepare his breakfast right after he put down his stuff. And just like usual he fried an egg and make a piece of toast with peanut butter on it. Most of the time Trixie will have her breakfast outside rather than cooking by herself, even if Eclipse is there, she never orders him to prepare a meal for her. But this time he decided to give her some spoilers first, so he prepared 2 sets of breakfast. One for himself, one for Trixie, obviously. He then took out the 2 cans of drink he bought a while ago. He set the table efficiently and sat down, continue doing the final touch on his brand new wing while watching the TV news.

Not long after that, Trixie came out from her room. She got up a few minutes earlier and had already groomed herself. She’s wearing her iconic, purple cape that’s clean, sparkly and wrinkleless. That’s Eclipse’s great work again, of course.

“Good Morning there, the Great and Powerful Trixie.” Eclipse greeted her with a smile warm as the morning sunshine on his face.

“Good Morning, my trusty assistant.” Trixie greeted him back and looked at the table, “Why are there 2 sets of food here? What’s this one for?”

“You, silly!” Eclipse smirked, “This one’s mine and this is yours, Trixie. Don’t need to go out for a breakfast now do you? It’s boring eating outside by yourself, right?”

“So, you prepared this for Trixie?”

“Exactly! So now just sit down and enjoy.” He put his bionic wing away and started eating right away.

She sat down and took a good look at the food. “Alright… That is kind of… surprising…” She finally started eating. And from the look on her face she really did enjoyed the meal.

They both finished their meal really quickly. Trixie thanked Eclipse for his delicious meal and went dressing. Eclipse went back to his room and put on a cyan shirt with Trixie’s cutie mark on it.

It’s now 10am and audience started gathering around the stage. Twilight and her friends are here too, and Eclipse head straight to them and stand next to them. They all waited patiently for the show to begin.

Just like every other show she teleported herself onto the stage and greeted the audience with her stunning shout. Just the classic Trixie intro.

For her first trick of the day, she levitated a rope in the air with her magic, light blue aura surrounding the rope. In this trick she was supposed to make the rope act like a snake, but the rope kept twisting and turning, until it forms a heart shape. Trixie have absolute no idea what is happening right now, and kind of anxious about screwing up. Did her trusty assistant fail her? However, she scanned the audience down the stage, they seemed really hyped and entertained, and they clapped their hooves loudly. She took a glimpse around and saw Eclipse looking passionately at the stage, and her. That moment their eyes locked in a contact, Eclipse gave Trixie a wink and smiled, indicated her to carry on with her show. She raised an eyebrow to show her confusion, but she did realize that she has a show to carry on.

She then took out a deck of poker cards from her purple hat and shuffled the cards with speed faster than a bullet. She lied her cards open and showed the front side to the audience. Then she swiftly and skillfully flipped the cards with one grab of her hoof, but instead of the fancy back side with the patterns were shown, it showed a message:

“ECLIPSE <3 TRIX”

Trixie’s mouth is wide open after seeing this. Eclipse can’t hold his emotion and giggled. Twilight and her friends stared at him, looking both surprised and confused. He likes Trixie?

Meanwhile the audience is going absolutely crazy right now, they’re clapping their hooves and cheering so hard that the noise sounds more like a shockwave than just noise.

Eclipse seized the opportunity and dashed towards the stage. He walked on the stage and waited for the mare to respond.

“Whatever you’re gonna say, let Trixie finish her show first.” Trixie whispered to Eclipse, trying to escape the embarrassing situation she’s in right now.

The show’s finally over. Trixie got off the stage and back to her own trailer. Eclipse went back to his room and minded his own business. They

didn’t talk about anything until night falls.

It was after dinner that Eclipse went to the outside and once again stared at the night sky. He didn’t think about the whole thing at all. It wasn’t until Trixie saw him sitting outside and walked out of the trailer and started,

“What’s with that face Eclipse, did Trixie make you sad?”

“No, I’m just bored. Nothing, really.” Eclipse is a stallion who’s really good at hiding his emotion, but this is not tricking the mare who plays with tricks for a living.

“You think Trixie doesn’t like you?”

“No…”

“Trixie won’t lie,” She sighed, “She actually have the same feeling for you, just like how you feeling about Trixie. No stallion appreciated Trixie’s work like you before. But Trixie’s concern is that… Our age.”

“So you think I’m too old?” Sure their age difference is a bit to significant to be ignored.

“No, no, no. Trixie is just…”

“I’ve heard that Twilight Sparkle has a big brother, Shining Armor, the Prince of the Crystal Empire just in case you don’t know about him. To my surprise, although older than you and Twilight and all her other friends, I’m still 5 years younger than Shining Armor! Will you call me old?”

There was an awkward dead air. They both went completely silent for quite a bit of time.

Eclipse lied down to stare at the night stars. Trixie sat down and looked at him. Suddenly she came up with an idea, so she said,

“Actually, Trixie has one thing in mind…”

“What is it?”

She blushed. Her light blue colored face is covered with rose red. She felt her face’s temperature rising.

“Can you cuddle Trixie?”

Eclipse turned his head and looked at Trixie’s rose red face. Trixie looked away to not let Eclipse look at her emotion on her face.

He smirked, “Sure. I would glad to.”

Wasting no time, Trixie lied down and snugged her head underneath Eclipse’s chin and on his chest. She can feel the stallion’s chest rising and dropping with his breath. She leaned her body towards Eclipse’s belly and relaxed. Eclipse wrapped his hooves around her and gently ran one of them down her back. It didn’t take long for Trixie to fall asleep in Eclipse’s arms. They both ignored the fact that they are actually lying down, cuddling outside of the trailer, meaning that any pony passes by can see them lying down like this. They didn’t mind. A cool breeze drifted passed and giving the both ponies a chill. Eclipse popped his left wing opened and covered up Trixie’s shivering body. He is exhausted after today’s experience and desperately needed some rest, but he remembered that there’s a mare in his hug and he didn’t want to disturb her. He sighed and slowly drifted to a sweet, deep sleep with Trixie in her arms.

“Goodnight now, my Great and Powerful Trixie.”

Chapter 4 - Cutie Mark Evolved.

The next morning, Eclipse mounted his new, shiny, self-made bionic wing onto his back. It’s not comfortable at first, and kind of heavy too. However after a little while he started to get used to the feeling of the wing and can control it as how he wishes to. He’s ready for the test flight. Earlier in the day he had Trixie, Twilight and her friends to come over for 2 reasons: To witness his creation come to action, and to standby and catch him just in case anything went wrong during the test.

After everything is set, he tried to flap his wings. It’s kind of difficult to take precise control of the wing at first, but after a few more flaps it is much easier. He then started to flap them faster and harder, which the wing showed itself being tough enough to handle the force. Slowly, he started to levitate from the ground and gain altitude inch by inch. For 13 years he was grounded and never left the surface higher than 2 meters, which made he much less skillful than when he works in the Wonderbolts. As he continues to fly higher, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy flew up and guide him to fly. Soon enough he regained his skills and fly by himself.

After the basic test, he decided to take it one step further and run a stress test. He flew as high up as he can manage and dove downwards hard. The tough, yet flexible bionic wing did all the glides, twist and turns and the landing perfectly. Surely the bionic wing still needs a few minor adjustments ad tweaks, but overall he called this project a success. Every pony were glad that Eclipse can once again appear in the sky.

While every pony was cheering, Rainbow Dash cried unexpectedly,” Oh no! I completely forgot I’m have training in the Wonderbolts today! Oh Celestia if I don’t go now Spitfire will definitely be so pissed at me! See you all later!”

Just before she dashes back to back to Cloudsdale, Twilight pulled Rainbow’s tail and stopped her. She then suggested,” Now that Eclipse can fly again, why don’t you take him with you to Cloudsdale? I think he will want to see how it have changed. Also he can meet the new crew in the Wonderbolts, right?”

“Heck yes! I really want to see how it has changed after all these years! I can still barely remember some details of the unit before I detonated the nuke. Before the war I was supposed to be promoted to be the Master Sergeant, but I’d say let’s just let Spitfire handle this job. “

“Magnificent! Let’s go then!” Twilight exclaimed, she seemed to be really thrilled about Eclipse returning to the Wonderbolts.

Wasting no time, they took off and flew as fast as they could. It was a rather long flight from Ponyville to Cloudsdale, and Eclipse struggled quite a bit as he still needs time to adjust himself to the feeling of flying with his bionic wing, but they made it. Just on time they landed at the Training Field of the Wonderbolts. That field, that runway that Eclipse took off 13 years ago and never returned and landed on again.

At the same moment Spitfire trotted out from her office and out to the field. She saw Rainbow Dash standing on the field with her Wonderbolt flying suit, ready to take her command from Spitfire.

“Alright Rainbow Dash, it seems you’re the pony today. Today’s orders are yours. You’re in charge for today.” Spitfire gave Rainbow Dash the permission to command on her own team today.

Spitfire turned to Eclipse and said, “Oh Eclipse! I can’t believe you are here! But how did you even get here?” She’s in her Sergeant’s Uniform and wearing a pair of sunglasses, which made her look way less like a mare. Completely different from the Spitfire he met before.

Eclipse popped both of his wings wide open. The metallic strips of his bionic wing reflected the sunlight, shining the light at Spitfire and Twilight.

Spitfire was amazed by the masterpiece that he strapped on his waist and back. She walked around and around Eclipse, only to carefully observe the incredible engineering skills and the innovative product built by the ex-top engineer of the Wonderbolts.

“Actually I found one thing really funny. I think my memories are slowly reappearing in my mind. I’ve really missed this place. And honestly if it wasn’t this coma, I’d probably be the one supervising this whole place right now.” Eclipse’s memories are starting to come back to his mind, making him able to recalled more and more memories from before the coma.

“Well right after the explosion the whole team, or actually whole Wonderbolts thought that you’re a goner, and that’s why I became the one to take the responsible of overseeing this whole organization.

“And Actually I’m very curious about the Wonderbolts’ Combat Unit had grown after all these years.”

“Sure! You can come back to the Wonderbolts again, right now! You can be the Sergeant here and turn this great group into an even better group!”

“No thanks. I love working as Trixie’s personal assistant, it may not pay as much as working here again, but I felt like sticking with it for now.” Eclipse rejected Spitfire’s invitation. Surely working with your love ones is always the best.

“Well alright then, the choice is yours and our door’s always open. Let’s go check out the Combat Unit, shall we?”

“Sure! Oh there, are you coming with us Twilight?” She’s been standing there with complete silence for quite a bit already.

“Well I still have to continue studying so I guess no thank you. See you later!” She then teleported away.

“Okay then…”

Eclipse followed Spitfire and flew to the Aerial Command Base of the Wonderbolts. It took them around 5 minutes to fly to their destination.

The facilities are for sure way better than before, which includes new weapons, new training field and so on. It’s certainly not the Aerial Command Base Eclipse knew. In the tracks some new crews were flying and practicing with their weapon.

“Attention!” Spitfire ordered the crew member. Every pony stopped and quickly formed a line, standby for Spitfire’s command.

“Anyone one of you have any idea of who he is?” Spitfire asked, testing the cadets if they know Eclipse.

“No, Ma’am!” They replied loud and clear, having no idea what their sergeant may do.

“In your Wonderbolts Interview examination, you should know that 13 years ago, our top engineer and team captain, Capt. Eclipse, deployed the ‘Rainboom Zero’ and ended the war. He vanished afterwards unfortunately, leaving us with this.” She showed the crew a badge. It’s the Team Captain / Vice-Sergeant honor badge which is only given to the best of the best in the Wonderbolts. Spitfire owned one before, but now she of course wears a Master Sergeant badge.

The badge is really unique: A wrench in the middle of the badge, and two wings by the side of the wrench. It is Eclipse’s cutie mark, and the badge Is the true memorial of his ‘sacrifice’.

“And now this, belongs to you, Captain Eclipse.” She took out a beret and pinned the badge on tight. She passed the hat to Eclipse with her wing. Eclipse took the beret and put it on his head. It fit snuggly on his head. With the beret on his looked just like the Captain 13 years ago.

The whole crew is surprised to see the war hero of the Wonderbolts is still alive, standing in front of them. One of the cadet took a glimpse of Eclipse’s cutie mark, which is completely the same with the badge. He whispered to the other crew members, “It really is Eclipse.”

After Eclipse had his hat on, Spitfire asked if there were anything he would want to tell or advice the crew. Eclipse nodded, he turned to the crew and started speaking, in the tone he spoke to the team 13 years ago, “No matter you are great or not-so great, you must keep fighting for your honor and dreams! After the war, I lost my right wing. My doctor thought I won’t be able to come back to Cloudsdale but look I’m here! As long as your spirit never die in your heart, you can overcome just about anything. Understood?”

“Sir, yes sir!” The crew gave a loud and clear response.

Before Eclipse continue his speech, his cutie mark started to glow and blink rapidly and eventually flashing. The flash created a bright reflection on the ground and the wall next to him.

Total confusion started in his mind: Why is his cutie mark flashing? The other next he knew is Rainbow Dash landing next to Spitfire.

“What is it, Rainbow Dash?” Spitfire asked.

“The cutie map is summoning me, sorry but I really have to leave now Sergeant.” Rainbow Dash replied, showing Spitfire her brightly flashing cutie mark.

“Mine is flashing too, is there anything related with yours?” Eclipse asked.

“I’m not exactly sure but I guess you should come along too. Twilight might know what is going on.”

“Alright then, Rainbow Dash, I approve your request. Now go, and be careful.” Spitfire said quickly.

Rainbow Dash and Eclipse then immediately took off and flew straight to Ponyville. Eclipse is getting used to his bionic wing so he can fly much faster. It didn’t take too long before they arrive at Twilight’s castle. Rainbow Dash opened the door and head straight to the map room. Eclipse followed her and entered the room.

“Twilight? Our cutie marks are flashing. What’s going on?” Rainbow Dash asked while panting. She’s a much better flyer than a runner.

Eclipse scanned around the room and saw everyone’s cutie marks are flashing too. “What does this mean?” Eclipse is really confused about the situation right now.

“According to the map, this is not just a normal friendship problem. This is something tagged as “aggressive” and approaching at our location in very high speed.” Twilight replied.

“So… You mean something might strike us at any time soon?” Fluttershy asked, looking very worried and horrified.

Just while everyone was discussing about how to counter this ‘aggressive’ thing, an unexpected explosion occurred somewhere outside. It wasn’t really powerful but still powerful enough to cause bright flames and a loud boom.

“Alright everyone, let’s go see what’s out there!” Twilight yelled, as all other ponies in the room ran out of the castle and started running towards the direction of the explosion.

They stopped as soon as they arrived at the explosion site. In front of the blazing flame stood an earth stallion as tall as Eclipse. He has a cape large enough to cover up his whole body, with a chest piece underneath. He has grey fur by the look of his legs. He hid his face under a hood and covered his muzzle with a piece of black cloth, making them unable to identify him. All they can see are his bright yellow eyes.

“What are your demands?” Eclipse asked the stallion.

“No use talking trash, take him don’t first!” Rainbow Dash didn’t hesitate to attack before anyone could have stopped her. She dashed down from the midair and attempted to kick the stallion. She was fast, but the stallion was faster. He barrel-rolled to his left side and dodged her kick. Rainbow Dash’s recklessness made her missed her kick and crashed onto the ground hard.

The stallion didn’t spoke a word before he started to attack. He pulled out his bow that he strapped on his back and started shooting arrows towards them. They instantly split up to individuals in order to avoid be shot. Twilight and Rarity shot magic beams at the arrows to stop them from harming anyone.

It didn’t take long for the vigilant stallion to realize that arrows won’t work on them, so he swapped his bow with a sword he strapped also on his back. The swapping is so fast that it’s almost unobservable, a speed where normal earth ponies wouldn’t be able to reach. He holds his movements while everyone else back off and holds their position. He slowly puts the sword back in place and just stood there, scanning at everyone.

While everyone is frozen in place, the stallion flung both his front hooves at Applejack and Fluttershy. Two dark arrowhead popped out from his hooves and flew straight towards AJ and Fluttershy. Applejack ducked and dodged the arrowhead, while Fluttershy got shocked by his sudden movements and did not react to it. Eclipse took a big leap towards Fluttershy and stretched his wings. With a skillful flip he flipped his body and blocked the arrowhead using his bionic wing. The arrowhead jammed between the gaps of the wing flips with a slight vibration.

He then immediately took another leap towards the stallion and smacked him with his bionic wing right in his face. This time the stallion somehow didn’t dodge the strike and got hit really hard. Eclipse pinned the stallion down on the ground and pulled out the arrowhead that was jammed in his wing just moments ago. He held the arrowhead with his mouth and position it near the neck of the stallion.

“STOP!” The stallion yelled suddenly, closing his eyes.

Eclipse jumped off the stallion as the unexpected shout penetrated through his ears. Everyone froze in place and stared at the two stallions. The stallion opened his eyes slowly and stood up. He slowly walked towards and Eclipse and looked at him in his eyes.

“Eclipse?”

“You… know me?”

“Eclipse, it’s me!” The stallion pulled off the cloth covering his muzzle and his hood, revealing his whole face and his mane is a yellow and black lightning pattern.

A blur, old, long-lost memory flashed right in front of Eclipse eyes. At that moment he seemed to realize something that he started,

“Flamy? Is that you?”

“Yeah! It’s me, Flamy!”

Everyone finally relieved from their tension and calmed down, while not expecting the two stallions actually knew each other.

“You know, I have been looking for you, all over Equestria! Where had you been in these 13 years?”

Eclipse told him about his story and explained everything, including his brand new relationship with Trixie.

“So Flamy, as I’m currently living with Trixie in a trailer that doesn’t really move around a lot, and now you possibly need a place to stay, I am thinking about renting a new house. I guess I’ll go find one tomorrow.”

“Alright then. Thank you brother.”

“It’s getting pretty late here, I think we should clean up this mess and get going.”

With the effort of all 8 ponies there, they managed to extinguished the fire and clear away all other destructions.

“Apologies for treating you all as enemies…” Flamy apologized after the cleanup.

“Never mind Flamy, every pony makes mistakes at some point in their lives, but yours is for good. We all know your effort for Finding Eclipse.” Twilight replied. Other 6 ponies nodded their heads in response.

Suddenly Eclipse’s cutie mark started glowing again. It started flashing and emitting a bright, white light while it started to grow a new pattern: A cross made by a wrench and a sword, with wings on both side of the cross.

“Wait… Did my cutie mark just… changed?” Eclipse looking at his cutie mark, having no idea what to do.

“I did have read some information about cutie marks evolving, and it only happened 4 times through all Equestrian history! You’re a very lucky one to be the 5th! I must tell Princess Celestia about this!” Twilight exclaimed.

Everyone around are very glad to know the news and cheered happily.

Not long after that the ponies parted their ways and head back home. Twilight and Eclipse are going the same direction, so they walked together and had a little chat, while Flamy just followed Eclipse to wherever he is going.

“So actually, how did you and Flamy met and know each other?” Twilight asked Eclipse.

“Flamy and I are already best friends way before King Sombra’s invasion. During the invasion, he helped me in constructing the ‘Rainboom Zero’ and spied on the enemy to gather intel. He’s the best assassin and infiltrator in all Equestria! We used to practice combat skills and do everything friends does before the war, until I fell to the coma and we never met ever since.”

Eclipse suddenly remember that Dr. Blitzkrieg he thought he knew but never came to recall where or when he had meet him before, so he decided to ask Flamy if he has a clue.

“Hey Flamy, do you know a doctor call Blitzkrieg? I don’t know if we have any kinds of connection or something…”

“Dr. Blitzkrieg huh? He was the medic during the war and we parted our ways right after the war.”

“Funny enough, he’s the actually the one who had keep me alive for these 13 years.”

“Seriously? What a small world Equestria is!”

“It definitely is.”

“Hey Eclipse! I’m heading this way now, so I guess goodbye for now.” Twilight interrupted the conversation to say goodbye to them.

“Alright then Twilight, goodbye.”

Eclipse and Flamy continued walking for a bit and finally arrived at the trailer. Trixie is sitting next to the table, writing something that seemed to be a new trick by its look.

Eclipse and Flamy walked into the trailer. Trixie didn’t shift her vision from her pen and paper at all.

“I’m back, Trix. This is Flamy, my very best friend. He now kind of needs a place to stay so he’ll stay in my room for now.” Eclipse said to Trixie.

“MM-HMM…” Trixie didn’t really care at first, but then she finally lifted her head and looked at the two stallions. She gave Flamy a warn grin and greeted him with a rather soft, warm tone.

Eclipse walked towards the table and sat next to Trixie. He signaled Flamy to sit down on another stool.

“So Trix, as we are not moving around with this trailer very often, and now Flamy is living with us, we were thinking about renting or buying a

new house. What do you think?” Eclipse asked Trixie.

“It’s not that Trixie doesn’t want a larger living space, but Trixie is the only one earning bits here, and the bits are not enough to rent a house for sure.” Trixie let out a deep sigh. If there’s one thing they they can have right now, that would be bits with no doubt.

“I know, so here’s my plan. I’ll continue working as your personal assistant helping with your shows, while other times I’ll go back to work in the Wonderbolts’ Combat Unit. Flamy can also go get a job if he really needs to. I’m sure we can rent a big house like that.”

“It is a great idea but….” Trixie yawned, “Trixie is extremely exhausted. Whatever you want to say, tell Trixie tomorrow. Trixie needs some rest now.”

Chapter 5 - His True Identity

After the happy reunion of Eclipse and Flamy, he is now responsible of finding a suitable house for the three of them to live in. It’s an easy tack though, as it only took him like a few hours of searching to find a big, yet affordable house. For 200 bits per month it is defiantly the one that meets his eye.

Trixie gains at least 60 bits for each show she performed from the sponsors. Gaining some extra from the audience sometimes. And by that it means she’s nowhere near to afford the house rent all by herself. And by that it means either Eclipse or Flamy must get a real job in order to rent the house. That’s no biggie for Eclipse at all.

“Our door is always open for you.” Eclipse remembered what Spitfire told him.

He jumped up and spread his wings without breaking a sweat, going directly to Cloudsdale. He’s now very familiar with his bionic wing and can no fly just like any other Pegasus, or more like a well-trained Wonderbolts flyer. He landed on Cloudsdale and walked towards the Wonderbolts Headquarters as flying is prohibited near the facility.

He stood in front of the main entrance of the headquarters, realizing how much better the security is now comparing to 13 years ago. Guards with automatic rifles, scanners, teasers etc. He thought he’s just fine to walk in, but he is stopped by the guards. At that moment he realized that he isn’t an official Wonderbolt flyer yet, and no one is powerful enough there to accompany him in.

He took out his beret and the badge Spitfire gave him last time, but that didn’t help at all. The guards were ordered to check for only the passes and the identity. Getting frustrated, he went to the visitor’s gate and registered for a visitor pass. After waiting for what feels like a whole millennium to him, he is finally permitted to go in the base.

He walked straight towards Spitfire’s office, which is a separate building from the main office building. It’s right next to the Combat Unit area. Eclipse looked around as he makes his way towards her office. It’s so quiet. It looks like every pony headed out for lunch apparently. The only sound remaining are birds chipping and rainbows flowing down.

He stood right in front of Spitfire’s office’s door. He gave the door a couple of knocks and hears the mare inside ordered. “Come in.” He twisted the door knob as gently as possible and headed inside her office.

Inside the office there really isn’t much to see: A large desk with a computer on the right, some posters and prizes hanging on the wall, a few file drawers locked with a key.

“Oh hey there legend. What are you doing here today?” Spitfire greeted Eclipse. She is certainly really glad to see him.

“Well I need to rent a new house for my friend and Trixie, and we’re out of bits. You know the rest, right?” Eclipse blinked an eye to Spitfire.

“So I guess you’re Private Eclipse now huh?” Spitfire smirked. She does have a sense of humor.

Eclipse gave Spitfire that “Really *Censored due to racism*? “face. He certainly didn’t expect Spitfire to make such a joke.

“Alright just kidding. Back on topic.” Spitfire said, seriously this time, “ I know what you wanna do, but bear with me on this one. You’re gonna have to sign up to be a private first before I can promote you to a Sergeant.” She then passes a sign up form to Eclipse, which he filled it no problem.

“Alright. Now the next steps are simple.” She took out a stamp and stamped on the form. With bold, red words it shows, “Approved”. She then passes another form to Eclipse and tells him to fill it in.

He read the title on the form which printed “Application Form of Promotion”. He also found out that Spitfire has already filled the “Grade of Promotion” with “Private to Sergeant”.

He continued reading as he fills in the boxes and lines. The real question is, what should he put in the box of “Reason of promotion”?

“Just say you’re an ex-Captain of the Wonderbolts CU and was retired 13 years ago due to injuries. I’ll put it as a special case.” Spitfire advised. Eclipse did what she says and completes the form.

She stamps another “Approved” stamp on the form.

“Isn’t this a kind of abuse of your duty Spitz?” Eclipse asked.

“Well technically it is, but considering how great you are, I do think no one will object this.” Spitfire chuckled, “Moreover, you’re a Captain before! You just ‘retired due to injuries’. No worries legend. If anything happens I’ll take the heat.”

“Okay then. Glad to hear that.”

“And now, as all the honorable Wonderbolts flyer does, you’re gonna need these things.” Spitfire entered a storage room next to her office. She signaled Eclipse to come in with her. The storage room is rather big in size. There are all kinds of everything inside that one room. Spitfire walked towards a cubic thing which seems like a closet.

She took two hangers from the closet and passed them to Eclipse. One of them is a formal wear for the Wonderbolts Sergeants, just like the one Spitfire is currently wearing. Another one is a Wonderbolts flying suit.

“Put that formal wear on and your beret too, Sarge.” Spitfire ordered.

“Solid copy, Sarge.” He did what Spitfire told him too. It fits him perfectly.

Spitfire then flies up to take a box with some kind of metal things in it as it makes clicks and clacks as Spitfire puts the box down in front of Spitfire. It looks kind of heavy as Spitfire struggled a little bit to bring it down from the top of the closet.

Eclipse opened the box. There are some items which really got his attention: A pistol and a M14 EBR sniper rifle. They are the weapon Eclipse brought along with him in the war 13 years ago. They’re both finished with a sky-blue and yellow lightning pattern.

“These belongs to you, sarge.” Spitfire smiled.

Knockings came from the door unexpectedly while they are discussing about the duties. Spitfire looked at the clock, there’s still half an hour left before the lunch break ends. Did anyone return early?

“Come in.” Spitfire replied.

Turns out no pony returned from lunch break early.

Instead of any Wonderbolts flyer, 2 pegasus ponies in sliver armor stepped into the office with swords strapped at their waist.

“Excuse me, ma’am. We are the Royal Guards, servicing under Princess Luna. Princess Luna sends us to find Mr. Eclipse. Princess Luna and Princess Twilight Sparkle demands to see you right away.”

“Wait… Princess Luna? Twilight? I don’t get it… Why?” Eclipse fell in total confusion.

“Well that’s a dismiss I suppose; you better go with them.” Spitfire says as Eclipse steps out of the office with the guards. They took off on the runway and flew straight towards Canterlot. Eclipse never went to Canterlot before, so all he can do is to follow the Guards.

After quite a bit of flying, they finally landed on an enormous structure, the Canterlot castle aka the two sisters’ castle. He continued following the guards into the castle.

The guards stopped in front of a door inside the castle and told Eclipse to go in. He made sure his outlook is acceptable before knocking on

the door.

“Come in.” A deep, unfamiliar female voice ordered from inside the room.

Eclipse pushed the doors open with his wings and steps in cautiously. Inside the room stood 2 ponies. One being Twilight Sparkle, another one with deep purple fur and violet celestial mane. She’s wearing a necklace with a moon on it, a shiny, purple tiara and sliver shoes.

“Twilight? What’s going in? What’s the matter?” Eclipse asked.

“Eclipse, just chill. Let me introduce first: Princess Luna, the princess of the moon.” Twilight replied.

Eclipse bowed to Luna,” Apologies, your Highness. I’m Sergeant Eclipse, current commander of the Wonderbolts Combat Unit ready for services.”

Luna chuckled slightly and signals Eclipse to get back up. She told Twilight to explain ‘The Thing’ to Eclipse.

“So, uhm, this is why we call you here.” Twilight started. She shows Eclipse a book.

“So… A book? That’s why you call me here?” Eclipse asked.

“There’s more.”

“Like what? Dark magic? Or any wars to fight?”

“No, no, no.” Twilight sighed, “Just hear me out alright?”

“I’m listening.”

“There are currently 5 alicorn princess in Equestria. Me, Princess Luna, her sister Princess Celestia, my sister-in-law Princess Cadence and her daughter, Flurry heart. And according to this book, which is written by a famous wizard, Solar Peak, at around 400 years ago. He predicted and analyzed the magic forces’ movement in the upcoming millennium. He said a new alicorn will be born within this period. Also he found out that after Luna’s banishment, as Princess Celestia controls both the sun and the moon, she caused a solar eclipse that created a new spirit. And we believe that spirit is you. However, we still haven’t figure out how did you get your body though…”

Eclipse understands most of the facts she said, “But that spirit thing sounded a bit too… far-fetched you know. I mean, although my name suggested this, this doesn’t not proof that I’m THAT specific spirit. Also If a solar eclipse can summon a spirit, this universe can be easily saturated by pure spirits right? Additionally, the future is always full of chances and variables, I don’t think that works either.”

Twilight closed her book and continued,” As far-fetched as it may sound, it is a fact now. And also, this proof that you, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are brothers and sisters.”

Eclipse jaw is wide open upon hearing such shocking news. “For the sake of Luna, you have got to be kidding. A random pegasus like me being the brother of the most powerful ponies in all Equestria? That’s not just far-fetched. That’s preposterous!”

“Also, you are the descendent of the sun and the moon. You will become an alicorn and yield an element.”

“That’s even more insane. I can’t even keep my right wing on me.”

Awkward dead air.

Princess Celestia stepped into the room and said,” Luna, sun is set. Time for you to rise the moon.”

“Alright. I’ll be right back.” Luna trotted out of the room.

Celestia saw Eclipse inside the room, so she asks, “You are Eclipse, right?”

“Yes, your Highness.”

“Oh come on, you’re my brother now, no use saying so.”

“Alright I guess, big sister?”

Twilight whispered to Celestia,” Is he going to believe this?”

Celestia simply reply,” Hopefully.”

Eclipse decided to break this awkward whispering between them. “I’m following the Wonderbolts to the Crystal Empire to prepare for the Equestria Annual Tour. Are you coming?”

They both looked at Eclipse and said yes.

Time flies. Eclipse realized that he’s been in here for 3 hours discovering his ‘real identity’.

“Well, it’s getting late. I guess I better go. See ya!”

“Bye!”

As soon as Eclipse leaves, they both started to worried.

“Crystal Empire? The Crystal Heart! Oh no!”

“Hope it won’t damage him too much. We need to find a way to protect him.”

“Shadow of the Sun and Moon, the descendent of the shadows. Do you think he believes us?”

“He’ll find out one day, but that day is not today.”

Prologue - Before Awakening...

Being an engineer and a team captain in the Wonderbolts is awesome. With 2 duties at once means a really good pay by the end of the month.

Everything is just perfect. The Weather Patrol, Air Force, the citizens... What can possibly go wrong at all?

Until...

13 years ago, King Sombra invaded Cantorlot and the Crystal Empire. Princess Celestia decided to deploy all units in the Wonderbolts to help defending the invasion. Eclipse, the wonderful engineer and team captain, built a devastating explosive weapon which he named "Rainboom Zero", which is based on the legendary Sonic Rainboom.

Princess Celestia never gave a green-light on deploying this weapon, until the time when Canterlot is on the very edge of failing. At that moment, she simply ordered, " Just do it."

Eclipse immediately activated the weapon and standing by to detonate it at ground zero. However, after he pressed the big red button, his right wing jammed between the weapon's winglets. He dove down hard with the weapon.

KABOOM.

Ground zero glowed a bright mushroom of rainbow, annihilating every single enemy in its blast radius.

For Eclipse, he got flung off far, far away from the blast site, his vision went to an instant black out.

He knew nothing afterwards.

And that's how the tale begins.
