//-------------------------------------------------------// Chronicles of the Fifth Race: The Unforeseen Return -by LunarPrince- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prolouge //-------------------------------------------------------// Prolouge There was not a single stray cloud over Ponyville granting a clear view Luna's night sky. Every star and constellation were at her whims to control, and she arranged them as if each star was her paint and the nights sky her canvas. It was nearing midnight and all the residents of Ponyville were asleep except for a certain purple unicorn in the Ponyville Library. She sat by candle light reading a novel or rather was finishing one as she had read it for a good while now. Gently flipping the page with magic, her eyes began to slowly scan the page eyes shifting from left to right as she read absorbing the page's content. She was so entranced in the book she was reading that she didn’t notice the soft creak of the steps, nor the figure that was traversing down them. Once reaching the bottom of the stairs, the Figure paused a moment to look at the purple Unicorn that was out of touch with reality due to the book she was reading before beginning their approach. In just maybe five seconds the Figure was within reach of Unicorn, and very tentatively reached out with a claw-like hand lightly touching the Unicorn’s left shoulder. “Twil- Gah!” The Figure cried out as he was suddenly launched across the room by the Unicorn using telekinetic magic out of surprise, and fear as she was suddenly launched back into reality due to the touch on her shoulder. A loud thump followed by many more thumps as a shower of books fell down from a bookshelf having been jostled free thanks to the sudden force it received from someone crashing into it. Moving quickly the Unicorn jumped to her hooves whirling around to face where the sound originated from magic ready to lash out in case it was somepony that had ill intents for her. Looking towards the source the Unicorn was greeted with the sight of a pile of books on the ground. The pile shifted causing the Unicorn tenses, or that was until a book shifted to the side revealing a small purple dragon head with green fins. “Spike?” The Unicorn dropped her guard, and magic she had built in her horn while looking to the figure that was in the books; however, when it did click it was Spike she let out a nervous chuckle using telekinesis to help the young dragon out of the books while saying, “I’m so sorry Spike.” Gently setting the young Dragon down Twilight released the magic;once free he brushed itself off with claw-like hands before sighing faintly. “It’s okay Twilight…” Twilight was silent feeling slightly foolish for what she did to her assistant. Though she was out of it, she should have known. Taking a breath, then letting it out she asks in what she hoped didn’t sound like a shaky voice, “What is that you wanted Spike?” “Well,” Spike started before giving a slight yawn, “I was wondering why you randomly decided to make such a ruckus while flashing a light around.” Twilight looked at him for a moment before saying slowly, “Spike, you might have just been having a lucid dream.” Turning from Spike she looked to where she had the book she was reading but found it wasn’t there. Not seeing it she let out a faint sigh as she thought that it might have been launched off somewhere thanks to her magic. “A lucid dream?” Spike asked in a questioning tone as he watched Twilight seeming to try to look for something. “What the heck is a Lucid dream…?” “A Lucid dream,” Twilight started in a tone which sounded Spike that he had made a mistake in asking as a long complicated answer was on the way, “Is where you're awake, but not awake Actually to put it better a lucid dream is any dream in which one is aware that they’re dreaming.” Twilight glances around the room soon spotting where the book she was reading had flown to. In her surprise, it had flown to the side striking another shelf. Picking the book up with telekinesis Twilight levitates it back to the desk she was reading at while adding to her explanation, “You must have imagined the flashing light and ruckus in your mind.” Twilight’s explanation seemed to go over Spike’s head as he just seemed to stare at her with a slightly blank explanation. It wasn’t that the young Dragon was dense, but it was literally the middle of the night, and Spike was drained. “Twilight. That doesn’t make sense…” Spike yawned again as he watches Twilight levitate the book to the desk giving a small satisfied nod before turning to face the dragon. “I mean I didn’t feel asleep when I heard the ruckus or saw the light.” Twilight simply waved her hoof . “They can affect on others some-” “Twilight,” Spike started cutting her off, “The way you tend to focus on things sometimes can cause you to become a bit oblivious to what’s going on around you.” Twilight gets slightly flustered at that remark. “I do NOT become oblivious to what’s going on around me.” Twilight retorted letting out a quick snort. “Well, what about that time when-” Spike started; however, he was interrupted by a loud clatter from the second floor causing Twilight to jump again along with the baby dragon Spike. “What was that!?” “I don’t know,” Twilight said speaking slowly before moving with purpose towards the stairs. “T-Twilight, what are you doing?” Spike asked as he watching as she was heading towards the stairs. Pausing at the bottom of the stairs her right hoof on the first step Twilight glances back towards Spike. “I’m going to find out who’s up there, and then I’m going to show whoever they are out.” Turning, Twilight started up the stairs again going quickly, but quietly so she could catch whoever it was. “Twilight, I don’t think that’s a good idea.” Spike calls after her as Twilight’s form goes up the stairs. Reaching the top, Twilight quickly glances around. As she did there was another clatter which caused her head to turn, and when she did she saw that the source had come from her room. her room was. Eyes narrowing faintly, Twilight made her way quickly into the room looking around. Looking around, it was obvious the source of the noise came from where the window was located, or it was obvious thanks to the glass shards that were scattered about from the broken window. Flaring her horn with magic, Twilight glances around the room again getting ready for anything that may come in an attempt to take her by surprise such as. something jumping out, an attack, etc,... A few seconds pass, then about a half a minute resulting in….. Nothing. Nothing attacked her. Nothing jumped out or attempted to try anything. All that was there, or as far as she could tell, was the shattered window, and the shards of glass that were scattered across the floor glittering softly from the magenta glow of Twilight’s horn. Letting out a faint grumble she uses magic to brush the shards aside creating a path so she could reach the window without treading on any shards of the glass. Once she was satisfied that her hooves were safe Twilight approached the window peering out into the darkness. Retreating into the darkness Twilight could just make out what looked to be a figure running away from the library moving quickly, and soon melting out of sight disappearing into the shadows. Just before the figure disappeared, however, Twilight just managed to register that something seemed different about the figure's tail and how it was moving. Twilight watches as the figure melted into the shadows, and as she did there was a part of her that wanted to go after them; however, logically it would’ve been a lost cause at this point as the figure could have gone anywhere using the night as cover. What the hay was that about? Twilight wondered to herself as her gaze lingered a moment more in the direction where the figure had run off to. Eventually, she peeled her gaze away to glance towards the floor where glass shards still faintly sparkled; ass she gazed at them her mind was reeling with questions: Who was the Figure? Why were they here? What race was it? What was the purpose of shattering the window? As Twilight sat there pondering to herself on what had happened, Spike had slowly made his way up the stairs and was peeking his head into the room. “....Twilight, is there anypony up here?” Spike asked in a tentative voice while quickly peaking around the room. Twilight was silent for a moment but then said while letting out a breath. “Nopony is here, or they aren’t anymore.” Twilight turned her head to look towards Spike. “Though whoever it was shattered the window.” “Oh, well that’s a relief,” Spike said letting out a faint sigh which got a faint look from Twilight; in response, he then quickly adds. “The window being broken is still a bad thing, though…. I’ll go get the broom and clean it.” “No, I got it,” Twilight said with a faint sigh before Spike had a chance to leave. “I can take care of this up here. Could you go sort the books that fell off the bookshelf after the… Misunderstanding?” Spike nodded to which Twilight gave a smile saying, “Thanks, Spike.” Spike nodded again slightly before departing from the room leaving Twilight alone with just her thoughts to keep her company. Glancing to the glass shards Twilight gave a faint sigh. Right, time to deal with this. Horn glowing once more takes a magenta hue as she slowly begins to levitate all the shards of broken glass off the floor; as the glass shards slowly floated off the floor the light cast from Twilight’s horn caused them to gently radiate a magenta light which was reflected and refracted creating little flecks of light to dance about the dark room. With great concentration Twilight brought the shards to the window using them to slowly mend the window; it only took maybe a minute, as well as just a small bit of magic, to fix the window. Letting a very faint smile touch her lips Twilight admires the work that she did. Despite being broken by whatever that thing was, she had done a decent job returning the window to its former glory, or something close to similar to its former glory. Well that’s that. Twilight thought to herself as she turned to face the door. Wonder if Spike got the books sorted out yet... Stepping on soft hooves, Twilight began to approach the door to go check on Spike; however, just before reaching the door she pauses as something caught her eye. Laying on the floor just behind the door, somewhere it wouldn’t have been noticed right away first entering the room, was what looked to be a book. Twilight looked at the book in bewilderment as she wrapped it with magic bringing it over to her so she could examine it further. The book was a blazing orange and was 12 inches long, 7 inches wide, and 4 inches thick. The cover had what looked like a black rose on it, and on the rose was a strange symbol with a flaming tail. Oddly, there was no title on the cover and opening the book to the first page Twilight was greeted by a phrase of strange text. Μόνο αυτός που κατέχει το σημάδι αυτού του βιβλίου μπορεί να ξεκλειδώνει όλες τις δυνατότητές. Translation: Only he who holds the mark of this book can unlock its full potential. This confused Twilight greatly, so she flipped to the next page, then she flipped to the next, and to the next, and to the next until she was now literally flipping pages at a rapid pace leafing through the book even more confused than before. The rest of the book was blank. What the…? Other than one page this book is completely blank.... Twilight shuts the book looking to the cover image again. This doesn’t make any sense. Looking at the cover a moment more she lets out a faint breath slowly levitating the book over to a nightstand gently placing it down cover side up. She was still curious about that book but figured she could save the mystery for in the morning after she got some sleep… That is if she could sleep. Exiting the room Twilight heads down the stairs to the main room of the Library. “Spike, did you get the books so-” Twilight trailed off when she spotted that Spike was fast asleep leaning against a shelf a book in his claws; around him were still books that have yet to be picked up. Despite what short excitement there was not that long ago, it seemed that it didn’t have the power to keep the baby dragon up for long. Then again, Spike was already showing signs he would have fallen asleep eventually. Looking at Spike for a moment Twilight got a faint smile as she used magic picking up Spike and the books, the books she re-shelved back to where they belonged, before heading back up the stairs floating the sleeping Spike just behind her. Reaching the room they shared, Spike was floated over to his bed being tucked in before she started towards her bed with a yawn. Sleep had started to creep up on the purple Unicorn, and sleep was really starting to sound good right about now to her after reading for seven hours straight. With a soft sigh, Twilight was almost upon her bed when she paused something catching her eye. The book on the nightstand was open, but she could have sworn that when she placed it down it was closed. Then again the lack of sleep could impair the mind causing it to think one way, but in reality, it was something else entirely. Shaking her head, Twilight thought nothing of it as she began to approach the bed again. Must be more tired than I thought. Twilight thinks to herself reaching her bed climbing into it and getting comfortable glancing to the book one last time; however, she pauses as her tired eyes, or what Twilight believed were tired eyes, soon slowly focus to the page; however, unlike the first page of the book, this page of the book was readable in a language Twilight could and understand. A change is stirring... The past once buried by the sun and the moon is coming back. Crimson tides will ravage the land, Foul fertilizer will cover the fields, and structures will collapse into ruin. The scale is balanced by a hair and is set to teeter by the hooves of an Amnesiac. Twilight just seemed to just stare at the book in bewilderment. What was written upon the page didn’t seem to make sense to her, or she couldn’t make sense of it in her current state. The answer, however, was soon going to be made as plain to her as the sun shining off the water as if it were glass. It wasn’t going to be just Twilight that was going to find out, but all of Equestria through the course of time. In fact, at this very time, a figure had stumbled out of the Everfree forest making it just a little ways before collapsing to the ground within eyesight of a simple cottage. The blend of many birds singing in harmony was almost peaceful, soothing, and a very calm way to wake up for the start of the morning with; perfect for the owner of the cottage just outside of town who was a shy and timid pegasus Fluttershy. At this time, she was in her bed fast asleep lightly snoring very softly a small smile present on her muzzle as she dreamed. It was an image if framed would look adorable if a picture was to be taken in time framed for all the eternity in space. As adorable as this scene looked, however, it wasn't going to last. Shifting focus from the bed, which had the sleeping Fluttershy on it, to the stairs that were the entrance to the bedroom was where small white bunny hopped into view coming to a stop just at the top. Taking a quick look around, the bunny looked towards the bed, and not seeming to waste a beat hurriedly hopped over reaching it with two hops; the second hop landed it on the bed, and onto the chest of the sleeping Pegasus. At the sudden pressure faintly pressing into her due to the weight of the bunny, Fluttershy's eyes instantly sprung open while a startled eep escaped her lips. Frantically, she looks towards where the weight was pressed into her chest eyes swimming with fear. Once she saw the source she seemed to calm down; her racing heart she had got from the shock was slowly returning to a normal pace. The weight on her chest, and what had woken her up, was none other than her pet bunny Angel. Letting out a small breath Fluttershy spoke in a voice that was both soft and soothing. "Oh, Angel... You startled me." The bunny, or Angel rather, looked at Fluttershy with an unamused look. With a tap of a foot, he hopped once before gesturing towards the stairs quickly; after that, he hopped off Fluttershy quickly heading down the stairs himself. Must be hungry. Fluttershy thinks to herself as she watched Angel disappear down the stairs heading to the first floor. Perhaps I should get him his breakfast as well as the rest of my animal friends. In one gentle fluid motion, she moves the bed covers to the side with a fore hoof giving her enough room to slide out of the bed, yet not enough to disturb the covers too much Climbing out of the bed, Fluttershy lightly stretches before heading to the stairs using them to reach the first floor. At the bottom, she glances around the lower level to all the different bird houses and small holes in her walls that were in her home. Inside a few of the holes were faint traces of movement as something shifts inside; that movement soon lead to tiny heads of chipmunks squirrels, and other various tree-dwelling animals lazily poking out with a faint yawn; a few birds emerged from the birdhouses around the same time as some of the little critters in the wall. Some of the birds gave their wings a faint stretch like flap while faintly ruffling plume feathers. Others lightly either stretched out their left or right-wing beginning to preen them. A soft smile touching her face Fluttershy started to hum a soft tune as she made her way to the kitchen entering and going to a cupboard opening one of the doors to expose two different shelves that held a variety of bowls and plates neatly stacked. Grabbing one of the bowls, Fluttershy took it out and set it on the counter; still humming she went about the kitchen getting the rest of what she would need to make a salad for Angel: Lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, baby carrots, and bell peppers. It really didn’t take that long to get the salad done once everything was gathered, and when she was done Fluttershy marveled at it with a smile. It looked delicious. Something perfect for Angel to eat, though now all Fluttershy had to do was find him to let him know…. A sudden jerking on her tail caused her to gasp faintly and turn to look. Standing just behind Fluttershy was Angel holding a pawful of the tail in his cute tiny paw. At Fluttershy looking at him, Angel gave another quick tug. “Oh…” Turning her head Fluttershy grabbed the edge of the bowl gently in her teeth moving it to the floor next to Angel giving him a soft smile. “There you go, Angel. A nice bowl of Salad for breakfast.” Angel glances to the bowl of salad, then back to Fluttershy giving her tail a yank again. Fluttershy frowned slightly glancing to the bowl, then to Angel. “What’s the matter? Did I forget to add something?” Angel looked at her shaking his head which quickly. “Oh, well did I add too much of something?” Once again Angel shook his head. Fluttershy thought for a moment before then asking, “Well is it that I should have used regular carrots instead of baby carrots?” Once more Angel shook his head, and this time, he gives her tail a yank pointing out of the kitchen towards the front door which seemed to get a confused look from Fluttershy. “So it doesn’t have anything to do with the salad?” Fluttershy asked slightly tilting her head. Angel took a paw face palming or face pawing as he has a paw while letting go of Fluttershy’s tail scooting back a few inches to give a bit of room between them. With that space, he acted injured while putting a paw to his stomach. “Oh! Do you have a stomach-ache!?” Fluttershy gets a concerned look. ”Let me go get something to help with that.” Angel watches with an agitated look as Fluttershy turned to head off to get something. Glancing to the salad bowl Angel picked up one of the baby carrots hurling it at Fluttershy to get her attention. The carrot sailed through the air striking Fluttershy on the neck before falling to the ground with a soft thud. A startled breath escaped Fluttershy’s lips as she turned. When she did she soon saw the carrot on the ground next to her before focusing on Angel with a confused look. “Angel? What was that for?” Gesturing towards the door once more before laying down on his back acting injured once more. Fluttershy looked a moment more at Angel slowly blinking. A few seconds pass, and in those seconds something seemed to click in her mind. The expression on her face seeming to get more slightly worried as she now asked tone that matched. “Is there another injured?” Angel nods in affirmative while quickly getting to his paws gesturing towards the door once before hopping towards it quickly. Fluttershy watched for a brief second before her body seemed to kick into gear. Grabbing a small med kit that she used for animals and tucking it under her wing, she quickly followed after Angel who by this point had gone through a small opening heading outside. Stepping out of the cottage the early morning sun caught Fluttershy’s pink mane and yellow fur lightly casting a warm gentle blanket over her. A gentle breeze was softly blowing that lightly kissed her mane causing it to gently sway. Ignoring the feeling, however, she looked to Angel for direction to where this creature that needed her help. Angel was looking to Fluttershy for a moment before pointing in a direction with a paw. Following the direction of Angel’s paw, there wasn’t much to see, or it was the case at first. The fields that were outside of Ponyville, and surrounded the area where her cottage was located, looked vast and sort of empty. Flowers lightly danced in the breeze that was presently kissing her mane. Little ways away from her home was a tan colored rock that was off to the side. Other than that rock and the flowing flowers the field seemed void of any creature that needed her help. Glancing towards Angel, Fluttershy was going to ask if he could be a bit more clear what he was pointing to, though she never got the chance to as she noticed that the rock had slightly shifted. Her breath caught faintly as she continued to look towards the rock watching to see if it was her imagination. Face palming again, Angel quickly gave FLuttershy’s mane a tug- Fluttershy looked towards Angel- before motioning to the rock again before acting injured again. Fluttershy looked a second at Angel before looking towards the rock again noticing that the rock has shifted in that span. Wait… What if it wasn’t a rock, but possibly the creature that needed her aid. If that were the case, then she needed to act quickly. Every second that she wasted could be a second that the poor creature was going through unnecessary suffering. Moving as fast as she could Fluttershy quickly rushes towards the where the creature was, and on the way she was thinking that the creature might be some wolf based on the size and the tan color. Once she got closer, however, she soon saw what it was laying on the ground was not a wolf, but what looked to be an earth pony. The pony’s coat color was that of a crimson red hue, and their mane and tail were a gentle forest green. A mixture of mud and blood looked to be smeared into the mane giving it a matted and unkempt appearance. The tail was styled in an odd way as it was segmented by what looked to be black bands, and the end was narrowed to a point to a degree. Looking at it some pony would come that the tail almost resembled that of how a scorpion’s stinger would look. Skidding to a stop next to the pony Fluttershy quickly dropped the box opening it. She didn’t have a moment to waste as this pony looked hurt badly. The body was covered from head to hoof in small scratches. Located on the pony’s right side was a long slash that looked to be slightly deeper than the others allowing crimson red to softly ooze out; from the signs of the very small pool forming on the ground next to the pony, the cut must have been slowly oozing for a while. The scent of blood was strong making Fluttershy want to gag, but she did her best to ignore it as she lightly rummaged around the med kit; however, a majority of what was available in this medkit wouldn’t help as it was made with her animal friends in mind. Of course, she also had a medkit for ponies, but she felt there wasn’t enough time to run back to her home to get it. Rummaging around she soon found what she was looking for pulling out a bandage roll, as well as some gauze to help with the wound. It wasn’t much, but it might just be enough to help the mysterious pony slowing down possible death. Biting her lip faintly, she took the gauze pressing it to the wound; once the gauze was pressed to the wound she unwrapped the bandage wrapping it around the waist as carefully as she could. Blood lightly soaked the gauze when it was applied, and very faint traces got onto FLuttershy’s hooves causing her to bite her lip a bit more from worry for this ponies safety. As Fluttershy treated the wound the pony suddenly lets out a faint moan of pain slightly stirring which caught Fluttershy’s attention. The stirring slowly escalated into a light flailing tail weakly lashing about. “Hey,” - Fluttershy moved a hoof from what she was doing to the head of the strange pony gently placing it in their mane - “it’s okay. Just relax.” Her voice, when she spoke, was very soft, and sounded as smooth as silk. Though the mysterious pony was lightly thrashing around they weren't actually conscious, and in reality, it wouldn’t have done anything, yet somehow Fluttershy’s soft and soothing voice was able to pierce into the ponies depths reaching a deep subconscious level. As a result of the flailing of the mysterious pony soon start to recede eventually stopping. Sure that the pony wasn’t going to cause any more harm to themselves, Fluttershy went back to wrapping the wound finishing; as she did Angel Bunny soon made his presence known as he had appeared next to Fluttershy. Noticing him from the corner of her eye, Fluttershy turned her head to face him. “Oh, Angel. Could you hurry off to get Twilight?” Angel looked at Fluttershy for a moment before quickly nodding; quickly turning Angel quickly hopped off. Fluttershy watches for a moment before looking back to the pony biting her lip as she thought to herself, Please hurry… Fifteen minutes elapsed before Angel returned, and with him was her friend Twilight. “Fluttershy, I came as fast as I.. Oh my, Celestia! What happened here?!” Fluttershy’s ear gave a very faint flicker as she heard her friend exclaim out. It was rather obvious by the tone and pitch of her voice that she noticed the scene, or rather she covered faintly in blood. Twilight continued soon came to a stop next to Fluttershy. Giving the pony a look over again, her attention went to Fluttershy as she asked “What happened!?” in that same sense of urgency. A very faint eep escaped Fluttershy’s muzzle as she crouched down faintly ears flattening slightly. “I-I don’t know… I… Or rather, Angel pointed him out to me this morning…” Twilight looked at Fluttershy for a second more, but then she shifted her attention back to the earth pony with a faint sigh. “I guess it doesn’t matter now what happened,” she replied in a softer tone while rubbing her face with a hoof; as she did her horn started to faintly glow. “We just need to get him to some help right away.” Fluttershy nodded her head faintly before responding in a meek voice. “That’s why I had Angel get you. I hoped you would know what to do.” Her attention then went to the pony as she added, “I did everything I could until you could get here…” Twilight nodded her head faintly as a faint magenta glow appeared around the pony. “Well it should be enough to get him to the hospital-” She turned her head in the direction she came from biting her lip faintly “-but it might be too far.” Fluttershy's ears flattened faintly plastering to her head. "Well isn't there something we can do?" Twilight was silent a moment as she looked off towards the direction she came, though it passes very briefly. "No," Twilight said, turning her head to face her friend, "We Will get him to the hospital." Determination filling her Twilight now levitated the pony up to about head height before quickly turning running back towards Ponyville. Fluttershy watches as her friend ran off lightly biting her lip, though after just about a second she followed after Twilight as fast as she could though trailing just a smidge--or in FLuttershy's case it was at least a good three hundred feet-- behind. The hard packed ground under hoof lightly crunched as the two mares sprinted. Their hoof-steps echoed audibly out with each impact with the surface of the land. Upon entering the town the streets were all but empty as it was still just a bit early in the morning; however, there were a few here and there out and about starting their morning routines. As the ponies began their routine, however, the sound of clopping hooves running down the road drew their attention. Being a small town not much happens, and when something does it has a tendency to grab the attention of the population, so, of course, the ponies paused what they were doing to look. What they were greeted with was a Lavender Unicorn running down the street carrying a pony wrapped in some bandage; just behind her was another mare who was a pegasus stained faintly with blood. As weird as this sight was, however, the ponies only watched until the two mares were out of their line of sight--and a few seconds in the direction they went after that--before going back to what each individual that witnessed the sight had to do. Back to the Lavender Unicorn Twilight and her mad dash down the road to the hospital while carrying the injured pony. It wasn't hard for her to do with her magic, though in a way it was a challenge. What made it a challenge was that she was running to get to the hospital, and she wasn't a long distance sprinter; however, this was a time that required great urgency. Her legs felt as if they were on fire. Her lungs were burning from the lack of oxygen. Every part of her body was crying, begging for her to stop; however, to stop would mean that the pony would die. Just up ahead of her Ponyville hospital loomed in the distance. Seeing the hospital seemed to make Twilight pick up the pace a bit more seeming to tap into an unaware reserve of energy which brought her to the Hospital doors Bursting through the doors of the Hospital Twilight quickly glanced around. "Somepony Help!" The lobby of the hospital when Twilight had burst in had only a few other ponies in it at the time. The receptionist behind the check in counter was going over some documents, though when Twilight burst in she faintly jumped glancing to the commotion to see the Unicorn carrying the injured pony. Quickly responding the receptionist quickly alerted the Doctors to the emergency. Not long after that Doctors appeared quickly taking the pony from Twilight transferring them to a gurney before returning to the depths of the hospital. Twilight watched silently as the Doctors had taken the pony heading off. She was faintly biting her lip hoping that it would be okay. As Twilight was silently watching the Doctors take the pony deep into the hospital Fluttershy finally arrived gasping faintly for breath. Faint beads of sweat had formed on her brow some of them were making faint trickles down her fur staining the yellow faintly but to wipe them away with a hoof would only make it worse due to the blood and mud grime mixture on her hooves. After to having to take a moment to catch her breath Fluttershy spoke in a soft voice asking, "Are they going to be okay?" Twilight takes in a breath, lets it out, then looks towards Fluttershy. "I'm not sure," she said, a faint tone of frustration along with the exhaustion from running. "The Doctors just took him, so all we can do is pray to Celestia that they'll be okay." "Well I'm sure--" A sudden coughing fit-being Fluttershy was soft and quiet-suddenly struck Fluttershy interrupting her. Though the coughs were soft, they sounded horrible. They felt wet hurting her throat making it feel raw. The coughing fit eventually passed, and when it did there has what felt to Shy a small drop of saliva in the corner of her mouth; a coppery taste coated her taste buds making her slightly shiver. Twilight's look suddenly seemed to take on a concerned look. "Fluttershy, are you alright?" "I-I don--" Fluttershy broke into another coughing fit that seemed slightly worse than the last; the copper taste got stronger in her mouth more spittle coming from her mouth coated red which caused Twilight to let out a gasp; however, Fluttershy seemed to not be able to hear it. The world seemed to be slowly fading. Breathing became hard as it felt like somepony had tied a noose around her neck cutting off airflow. She faintly began to teeter faintly to which her friend, Twilight, put a hoof on her shoulder saying something, but the words seemed to be unclear by this point; the world faded to nothing but almost black drifting away like dust in the wind.
