A New Life

-Dash's POV-  "Try to catch me!" She was playing a simple game of tag with a few of her younger friends.....and Vinyl. She had known Vinyl since she first moved to ponyville, so she had become good friends with the DJ pony. "Come on slow ponies!" Before she could say anything else, a flash of light and an explosion appeared right in front of her and she watched in awe. When it disappeared what she saw completely surprised her. Sonic: "nnn....." Dash immediately flew down to him. "Sweet celestia! What the hay was that?! Are you ok?" She helped him up and noticed that he was nowhere near a pony. She also noticed that he had a big gash on his arm. Sonic: "ah.. I'm fine.... where am I and what are you?" Dash smiled. "you're in Equestria, and I'm rainbow dash. I'm a Pegasus pony and I live here. now I need to ask you the same." Sonic: "Sorry. I'm Sonic. I'm a hedgehog, and I came here from a world called Mobius. I actually was I a battle with eggman there and....HOLY CRAP! SHADOW, TAILS, SILVER, KNUCKLES! they're still...." A pink hedgehog ran up to him and hugged him. Amy: "SONIC!" Sonic: "ugh. The portal sent you here too? what about the others?" Amy: "tails stayed behind so he could fix the portal for us to come back. the others are in some sort of library treehouse." Dash: "Ahem.... wait, did you say library treehouse?" Amy: "Yea, why?" Dash: "That's twilights house! Follow me!" She flew off but then immediately remembered that Sonic was hurt and flew back to his side. "How bout I help you?" Sonic smiled at her way of doing things. She seemed very sweet, but unlike somebody who wasn't -cough- Amy -cough-  She was willing to help him out when he needed help. "Sure. Thanks Dashie."  Dash smiled but also blushed at the cute yet partly embarrassing nickname. "Oh, you don't mind if I call you that right?" Dash: "No, you can call me that. just please not around my friends." They walked off to the library and were surprised by their groups of friends. "Girls!" Dash laughed and hugged the first mare she saw. She was pink with a darker pink mane and tail. She had aquamarine eyes and a small silver heart necklace on her. Pinkie Pie: "Dashie! I knew you weren't late on purpose!" She squealed. Sonic smirked. "I thought you didn't want me calling you that around your friends." Dash laughed. He had never heard something as beautiful as her laugh. Dash: "oops. guess I forgot to mention Pinkie Pie didn't I? This filly has been my Pff since I moved here." Pinkie ran off at the sight of another mare. This mare had a red mane with brown highlights. She also had magenta eyes and was an alicorn. She was wearing the same necklace as Pinkie. "Hey Pinkie!" They then started doing the silliest but cutest little dance ever. "Sunshine, sunshine, ladybugs awake! clap your hooves and do a little shake!" They giggled happily. Dash: "They're sisters. They do that every time they see each other." Pinkie walked back to the group and smiled happily. Sonic: "alright then. So, does anyone here know how we got here?" Twilight: "It seems your battle with eggman had ripped a hole in your universe, therefore leading you to Equestria along with your friends. I suppose we should try to get you back, but as shadow here told me, your world is already halfway destroyed." Dash was making silly faces to get rid of her boredom and Pinkie and sonic had joined in. Twilight was still talking but the three were not listening. "So the amount of time it will take to build another portal will be indefinite, but we will try our hardest. Discord and fluttershy, can you please get Zany off of my leg?" Fluttershy smiled and grabbed her son, giving him a little tickle on the stomach. Dash smiled: "you done yet?"" Twilight gave a groan of annoyance. "yes. yes I am." She walked upstairs to her husband and 1 year old daughter. Flash: "I liked your little speech twily. I think twinkle here liked it too." She looked at her daughter who was clapping her hooves. "I think she did." She smiled and gave her husband a kiss. "I'm going to take a nap ok?" Flash: "ok sweetheart." She smiled and walked to her bedroom, got in bed and fell asleep. The rest of the group said goodbye to purple twilight sparkle princess and left the library. Sonic: "Hey dash, I wanted to ask you a question."  Dash: "go for it." Sonic: "Wanna go out sometime?" She paused, blushing at the question, but then replied. "Sure." Sonic: "Really?" Dash: "Why not? I know the perfect place to go too." Sonic: "O-ok! What time?" Dash smiled at his enthusiasm. "I'll probably be ready by 5.  If you want you can come over so you won't have to wait too long." Sonic: "Thanks Dashie." Dash had finally finished getting ready. She wore a simple outfit. A black skirt and some earrings, for she never wore makeup. She also had her mane up in a ponytail. "Sonic?" Sonic: "Yea?" Dash: "You ready to go?" She walked downstairs happily. He looked at her in shock. "Y-yea. You look...beautiful!" She blushed but smiled. "I try." She was fibbing. All she did was put on a few pieces of clothing. Sonic smiled and stood up. He had never been on a date, nevertheless, he was going to make sure this one was perfect. He had a plan. When the couple got to their destination, they were trying their hardest not to laugh or chortle at the last even that had happened only a few minutes before they got there. Sonic had gotten caught in a bear trap and Dash went for help. Pinkie's daughter found him and burned the rope for him. When he got free, Dash grabbed his arm, spun him around, and kissed him right there and then. That wasn't quite the reason they were laughing though. They had started laughing when he kissed back and his eyes turned into cute little animated hearts for a few seconds. I have to admit, it was pretty funny watching it, but I bet they had the time of their lives when it happened to themselves. Dash had finally gotten her cool and calm composure back. "ok, so I have a joke for you sonic." He chuckled. "go for it." Dash: "ok, there's a one story house where everything is blue. What color are the stairs?"  Sonic: "Uhh... blue?" She chortled. "Nope! It's a one story house! There are no stairs!" She giggled and nudged him. He chuckled with her and escorted her inside. He thought to himself for a moment. -Thinks- She's not so bad... this just might work. Dash smiled happily. "Hey, I'm gonna go get the passes from Vinyl." Sonic paused. "Passes?" She blushed deeply, knowing that she had forgot to tell sonic where they were going and what they were doing. "Yea. we're going to a club. It's kind of a secret though. That's why I'm getting the passes from the DJ."  Sonic smiled and held her hoof. It was not gentle and delicate, but it wasn't bulky and muscular either. It was more of a mix of both. Her fur was as smooth as silk, flower petals even. But she had slight muscles too. He could already tell that she was an athlete. A good one at that. She smiled and saw Sonic staring at her eyes. Her beautiful deep magenta eyes. The only feature of her face that could stare at for all eternity. She had never heard anything as sweet as Sonic calling her the word 'Beautiful' and she had hoped he meant it. She never had a special somepony, but she was even willing to have one, but only if he was Sonic. Yes she had to admit that he was a different species, and she had saw how spike and rarity had turned out. Not well, that's for sure. But here she was, standing in that dim light, looking into his emerald green eyes and loving it.  She had gotten so caught up in the moment that even the slightest touch of the smallest feather could make her jump in surprise. But at this point, she didn't care. There was absolutely nothing keeping her in the way of kissing him right there and then, for real this time. Which is exactly what she did. She got a little bit closer to him, just enough so they were face to face, as she was only next to him the entire time. Then she kissed him. It was complete and total bliss for the mare, and even more so for Sonic. He closed his eyes and kissed back, not wanting to waste a single second of this amazing feeling. He did a slight sweeping motion and got her off her hooves, gently hugging her and holding her in the hug while still kissing her. What they didn't see was that they were already floating off the ground. Dash had been a little too caught up in the kiss and started flapping her wings gently. She had made them both start flying.   She stopped after she looked up. She looked into his eyes and slowly floated back down with him, hoping nopony had seen that. She smiled. "Sonic?" Sonic had gotten out of the trance he was in when she said his name. He only then noticed how sweet and kind her voice was, and that he was treating her more like a best friend, even though they were probably dating now. He smiled. "Yea Dashie?" Dash blushed slightly. "D-do you love me?" She asked in an almost whispering tone. Sonic had noticed the warm magenta pools in her eyes becoming slightly larger and how serious yet sweet she sounded. "You really want to know?" She giggled, almost completely forgetting what had happened a few minutes ago. "Yes." Sonic: "Dashie, I love you with all my heart. I figured it out the moment I saw you. You're the most beautiful girl in the world. You might think I only like you for your looks, which, to be honest, I think everyone around here needs to. I love you because you're sweet but stern. You're gentle but rough. You're caring and loyal, and if anyone tells you otherwise, I'm going to slap them upside the face."  Dash had tears in her eyes. She was so happy that she was crying. She immediately hugged him and smiled. "I love you too." They canceled their plans so that they could hang out. Just the two of them. Sonic had found a little swing set and some playground equipment and had walked her to it. They were hanging out on the swings. Sonic was hanging upside down from the actual set, while Dash was swinging. They talked for about four hours and walked back to Dash's house. Since Sonic had nowhere else to go, he had asked to stay with Dash. Of course she said yes, so the slept together. This was only their first date, but certainly not their last.
