Sweetie Belle came bursting through the door of Rarity's boutique. The happy smile her face emitted seemed to make the sun even more brighter. The young filly went up to the front desk and asked the pony working on her shift.
"Do you know where my big sister Rarity is?" Sweetie Belle asked, the smile nowhere near gone.
"Aren't you a cute lil' thing?" the pony said with a thick southern accent. The unicorn got up from the desk and patted Sweetie Belle on the head. The filly smiled at the feeling of the pat.
"Rarity is in her make-up room." the southern unicorn said. The make-up room was where Rarity created and tested new make-up and mane styles.
"Okay. Thanks." Sweetie said, walking into the hallway that led into many different rooms. She could hear the clipping of scissors, the buzzing of razors, and the opening of jars that held the make-up inside.
Sweetie Belle loved these noises. They soothed her. Whenever the filly was down or upset, these noises seemed to calm her down and make her forget her worries and sorrows. Everypony found it wierd that these noises calmed her down, and even Sweetie herself questioned it. But Rarity had once said that she also loved those noises when she was Sweetie's age.
Sweetie Belle kept on walking down the never-ending hallways until she finally reached her destination. There was paper sign that said, 'Do Not Enter'.
Sweetie Belle knocked on the door, and as always, there was a reply from inside.
"Who is it?" the voice asked from inside the room.
"It's Sweetie Belle!" the young filly said, her voice cracked from talking so high pitched.
"Oh, Sweetie Belle. Come in, dear." Rarity said from inside.
When Sweetie walked in, Rarity was putting on some make-up. There were slices of cucumbers on her eyes, which always sort of creeped out Sweetie. It remained silent for a moment until Sweetie Belle finally broke the silence.
"Umm, Rarity?" asked the filly.
"Yes, little sister?" Rarity asked.
"My school is having a dance and-" Sweetie Belle stopped, trying to come up with better usage of words. Even though she was intelligent in total, that didn't mean that she wasn't a slow-thinker. In better words, she wasn't dumb. But then again, she wasn't Albert Einstein, either.
"And?" Rarity asked, getting impatient.
Finally, Sweetie Belle took a deep breath and spoke. "I wondered if you would let me join!" she said at 100 miles per hour.
Rarity chuckled. "Sure, Sweetie Belle, you can join."
Sweetie Belle sighed in relief. But then, another question entered her little mind.
"Oh and one more thing-" she began, but stopped shortly after.
"What is it?" Rarity asked.
"Could you teach me how to dance?" Sweetie asked, faster than the previous question.
Rarity suddenly froze. Her mouth was open like it was going to say words, but it just lingered open. The cucumbers both fell of her eyelids at the same time, revealing her wide open eyes.
Sweetie Belle lifted up her right forehoof and folded her head back. "Umm. Too soon?" she asked, trying to keep a smile.
Rarity finally spoke up. "You want to join a dance, right?" she asked, looking towards her little sister.
"Yes." Sweetie Belle said, obviously confused.
"But you don't know how to dance?" Rarity asked.
"Yes." replied the filly, who was now extremely confused.
Rarity's left eye twitched, trying to hold in her anger. "Why?" she hissed.
Sweetie Belle cowered to the floor. "I- I wanted to see if I could get my cutie mark in dancing." she stuttered.
Sweetie Belle had never seen Raritry this paranoid, and her little brain didn't know why she was acting like this.
Finally, Rarity took a deep breath, and spoke. "Fine. As long as there's no mud involved..."
Rarity's words were cutt off by Sweetie Belle's cheering. "Yes! Thank you! Thank you!" the filly jumped up and down, and then hugged Rarity.
"Anything for you, sweetheart." Rarity spoke. "Anything for you."

Sweetie Belle rushed out of school as fast as she could. Today was the day. Today would be the day where Sweetie Belle would train to be a good dancer for a school dance that was only just a few months away.
Rarity was busy focusing on making a dress when Sweetie Belle burst through the door. "HEY RARITY!" Sweetie Belle yelled at the top of her lungs.
Rarity jumped in surprise, landing on Opalescence's tail. The cat hissed and scratched, and finally went to go sleep in a more comfortable spot.
Rarity put a forehoof to her head. Her little sister's yelling had given the unicorn a headache. "What is it, Sweetie Belle?" she asked, still rubbing her aching head.
"You said that you would train me today!" Sweetie Belle said in excitement.
Rarity moaned. She had forgotten that today was the day she would teach Sweetie Belle how to dance. But something in Rarity's mind told her to make up an excuse not to help her, mabye like 'I'm busy working on a dress.' or 'Not right now. I'm {cough} sick.' But there was one problem. She had promised her little sister she would help her. There goes two excuses. Mabye she could use them later.
Rarity sighed in defeat. "Okay fine. Let's begin shall we? First-" Rarity was interuppted by Sweetie Belle.
"I want to learn outside." Sweetie Belle said, looking up at her big sister.
"Oh, heavens no. Why?" Rarity lifted a forehoof up.
"There's too much fabric everywhere." Sweetie complained, slipping on a piece of blue fabric as she fell to the floor with a big thump.
Rarity sighed in defeat, one again. "Fine. Let's go."
"Yay!" Sweetie Belle cheered.

The next following months were painful. Rarity would always end up falling in mud, Sweetie Belle would always end up tied onto the drying line, and their cat Opalescence would be somehow eating a tomato. And the weird thing is, there are no tomatoes in Ponyville. Nothing made sense.
But finally, all that nonsense ended. Today was the day. Today was the day of Sweetie Belle's dance.
Rarity was busy zipping up Sweetie Belle's dress. Once she finally zipped it all up, Sweetie Belle walked over to the mirror and looked at herself. She gasped in surprise. "I'm beautiful!" she proclaimed, a large smile across her adorable little face.
"Thanks to me." Rarity replied.
Sweetie Belle walked over to Rarity and hugged her. "Thanks for helping me with all this. I'm surely going to do good."
"I know you will." Rarity replied, embracing the hug.

The show was about to begin. A few dances had played before the show, so Rarity was getting tired. She tried to open her eyes. But whenever she did, they would force themselves to close again.
Oh no, she thought to herself. She had worked too hard on that damn dress. Now she was surely to fall asleep.
Suddenly, the dance started to begin.
No. No. No! Rarity screamed in her mind. But sadly,that was of no use. Her eyes slowly closed, and she finally drifted off to sleep.
Sweetie Belle, who was dancing, noticed Rarity asleep in the crowds. She instantly felt like her heart tore in half, as she held back tears. But the show must go on.
She did every dance move perfectly. She swayed her hips when she had to. She went to her knees when she had too. She got on top of another dancer and jumped over her when she had to. She had remembered every single solid move.
But seeing Rarity asleep at her own dance made it harder for Sweetie Belle to concentrate. She found it really hard trying not to cry, but also focusing on her dance.
Why would Rarity fall asleep like that?
Did she not love Sweetie Belle?
The thought of that made her stomach cramp.
Sweetie Belle finished up the dance and went backstage. Ironically, that was the last dance of the night.
Everypony stomped their hooves to applaud. Then, they went backstage to pick up their children. But not Rarity, who suddenly woke up to the noises of the stomping. The unicorn took a look at her surroundings, and realized what happened.
She had fallen asleep during Sweetie Belle's dance.
Rarity took no time to stretch as she suddenly burst up and ran backstage.
Going past the fillies and their parents, she finally found Sweetie Belle.
The little filly looked up at Rarity. Her eyes were bloodshot, as if she were about to cry. Finally, tears started to flow down her little cheeks.
Rarity gasped in surprise. "Sweetie Belle. I'm so sorry. I-" Rarity was cut off by Sweetie Belle, who ran off.
The filly ran past the crowds of ponies and out of the building. She cried harder and harder every step she made.
Rarity's ears drooped. This was all her fault. She had to fall asleep, when clearly, she didn't have to. Now, Sweetie Belle had run off crying. Rarity lowered her head in shame as she left the building.
Somewhere in her mind told her that Sweetie Belle would forgive her.
But another part said she wouldn't.
At this point, Rarity couldn't choose which one would happen. She was too afraid to know.
~~~
Sweetie Belle ran into Rarity's house and ran towards the kitchen. She suddenly stopped to open the sink door, and entered. This would be the perfect place to cry. Once the filly was fully inside, fell to the bottom and covered her face with her forehooves. Sweetie Belle hadn't cried this hard since Rarity had grounded her for something she didn't do. Once everypony had found out that Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara had purpousely framed Sweetie Belle for it, the filly's expelliation was removed and she recieved Rarity's apology. Hot tears streamed down her eyes and onto her little hooves.
Why would Rarity do that? she asked herself in her thoughts. Did I do something? Does she hate me?!
Thoughts entered her mind every second, making it harder to think.
Sweetie Belle was still crying when she heard the door of the house open.
"Sweetie Belle?" asked the voice. "Are you in here?"
Sweetie Belle lowered the volume of her crying. She didn't want Rarity to find her. Right now, she didn't even want to talk to her. For that matter, even see her. Sweetie Belle didn't want anything to do with Rarity at this moment.
Rarity looked around the house for any clues of Sweetie Belle's presence. She had followed her little hoof-prints to the house. Since it had rained recently rained, the ground was still mushy with mud.
"Sweetie Belle," she began, "I know you're in here somewhere."
Even though Sweetie lowered the volume of her crying, it wasn't completely inaudible. Rarity heard the crying, and followed it.
Her ears led her to the kitchen. There, she heard the crying coming from the sink cabinet. She knew that the crying belonged to Sweetie Belle. Rarity walked up to the cabinet and knocked on the door.
"Sweetie Belle?" she asked. "Are you in there?"
Sweetie Belle answered. "Go away!" she sobbed from inside the cabinet.
"Why?" Rarity asked, her voice becoming smoother and softer by the second.
"Because you hate me!" Sweetie Belle sobbed. Once Rarity heard that sentence end, she heard her little sister start crying harder.
Rarity's ears drooped once again. "Oh, Sweetie Belle." she softly said, opening the cabinet doors, revealing her sobbing little sister.
Sweetie Belle lifted her arm up slightly, revealing one of her eyes. Her bloodshot eyes. Rarity reached in and pulled Sweetie out, lifting her in the air. Sweetie Belle didn't fight back.
Rarity took a good look at her forlorn sister. Her eyes were completely bloodshot, tears were streaming from her eyes down to her legs, and her breathing was erradic.
Rarity felt tears forming in her own eyes. Her sister looked like hell. She'd never seen Sweetie Belle that upset since the time she grounded her for something she didn't do.
{inserts same stupid memory from before.}
Oh, Sweetie Belle was really upset back then. Anyways, she looked no different now.
Rarity leaned towards Sweetie Belle and kissed her on the forehead. This seemed to calm the filly down, as her tears became thinner and thinner.
She pulled Sweetie towards her and hugged her as hard as she's ever hugged her sister before.
Finally, Sweetie Belle looked up at her sister. "Why did you fall asleep?" she asked, her voice still stuttering from crying.
"I didn't mean to." Rarity began. "You see, I was too busy working on that dress that I tired myself doing so. So when I got to your dance, I was so tired that my body took over."
Sweetie Belle sniffed. "So you don't hate me?"
Rarity almost gasped. "No! Why would I hate my own little sister?"
"I don't know." Sweetie Belle sniffed.
"I would never hate you. I love you." Rarity whispered, but loud enough for Sweetie Belle to hear.
"I love you, too." the filly replied.
They just sat there and hugged. It almost felt like an eternity, but in reality, it only lasted for two minutes.
But that didn't matter right now. Rarity was too busy thinking about how she can repay Sweetie Belle for the accident. Mabye she would let her sleep with Rarity in the same bed. And mabye even let the filly cook in the morning, with instructions from Rarity, of course. It was settled. She would let Sweetie Belle do all those things.
After all that thinking, Rarity paid attention to the hug again. Even though it only lasted two minutes, it felt like an eternity for Rarity, and even for Sweetie Belle.
For both of them, they wouldn't of minded if it lasted forever.
