It was the third...the third of july one day away from the begginging of yet another lonley year. It's been this way for only about 4 years scince Jace's father died, his mother had died shortly after. this incident has left the young man alone and frankly depressed. He only had one real friend His coworker. him and his coworker worked at a small grocery store in a very barren town. Life was... well... average he worked himself into a pattern of get up two hours early, take a shower. eat breakfreast and either watch the newest episode of mlp or read. scince he had gotten caught up in the series he diden't have much else to do but read.Today is an especial depressing day for jace it was his parents day of death. He had continued his normal schedual until when walking home from work he heard a loud crash in a nearby abandoned building. Because of the fact that there was nothing else to coupled with his Longing to take his mind off of the depressing mood of the day he decided to investigate. When he arrived at the building all seemed quiet until another large crash erupted from somwere within the building. The loud noise caused jace to lighten his step incase some kind of robber or criminal was setting up base. As he continued up the slightly damaged steps jace examined every detail of the walls what was strange was there was no other foot steps to be seen. *so who else could be in here and what was making that noise?* jace thought. as he reached the second floor jace peered around quickly to ensure no surprises. His eyes were greeted with a strange sight indeed there was a bright "hole" in the air. Jace was thuroughly surprised he dident know what he was expectingbut this....this was not it. Jace his couriosity peaking coulden't walk away if he tried. He took a few slow and careful steps tword this "hole" and stopped to examine it further. Just as he was about to start moving again he heard...somethng that sounded an awfull lot like a voice. "I think this is the wrong place sister," said a very reagle voice
" I bealive thou are correct my dear sister shall I try again?" said another powerful voice
"Do you have the strength luna?" said the first reagle voice
"of ourse my dear sister," The second voice stated
Jace presumed the second one was called luna but the first's name is still unkown. an idea formed distant at first but this thought was born of his curiousity and as such fed his curiousity to grow to levels beyond anything he hadfelt in years. He took a few hasty steps forword and as the portal (as he now presumed it was) started...flickering. He knew it was now or never he jumped through just as it closed.
At first it was like being on a rollercoaster on its max speed and then what was just blurs before formed into shapes and colors and soon formed a new world around jace as he landed in the middle of a bunch of broken glass. The first thing jace realised was that he was in pain his whole body ached as if he just ran a marathon and then got punched my a boxer. The second thing he noticed was that he was no longer in the abandond building. he tried to stand but his body was way to weak so he just tried to get as comfortable as he could and fell into a dreamless sleep.
When he awoken he felt a whole lot better his mind was a lot clearer than it was before and he didn't hurt as much either. As he tried to stand he realised something he was differant And not like "im missing a sock or a shoe' differant like "im a dog now" differant except he wasn't a dog or atleast he didn't feel like a dog. He had four...Hooves
"okay deffinitley not a dog" Jace said to himself which strtled him. "I can speak?" jace said again to himself. as many thoughts and questions ran through his mind he couldn't help but notice he was also shorty than he was before he was the size of a well a pony foal (his mother had a friend who raised horses and ponys).
He "walked" or rather he trotted along the path he had woken up on this forest was creepy like something was watching him. He could hear far off sounds like voices but he couldn't make out what exactly they were saying but he followed the sound until he could make out a few words: "cutie.....crusaders.......YEAH!) was all he could make out but they sounded like children so he increased his pace to a uh...jog? and he quickly found the source of the noise. It was a cottage very natural and peacefulwell besides the occasional childesh shout jace decided to knock to see if anyone here could help him with his uh...Problem.
Jace walked up the natural bridge that led over a small stream filled with fish, Trees filed with birds and birdhouses ,And many a burrows it was a very pleasent and relxing place he felt like he could just curl up and sleep here forever. Jace was awoken from his daydream by yet another childish "YAY!" from the cottage he approached the cottage door and tried to knock but he ended up makeing a muffled noise because of his new fur so ho tilted his hoof and tried at a differant angle. After a few more tries and many a yay he finnaly did it he hit it with the hard keratin of his hoof making a loud clonk clonk clonk. The door opened to show a yellow pony standing with three younger fillys staring at him with pure excitment Before either him or the yellow pony could even blink the three younger fillys were all over him eamining his hair his tail
"he dont have a cutie mark girls!" said one of the three fillys in excitment
The other two gasped and smiled wider than he ever magined those faces could smile.
The three of them got together to form a sort of huddle and kept looking out at him and quickly they disbanded and they stepped into a neat line and all wore serious looks.
"what's your name new colt?" asked the orange filly
"uhh..." he didn't know what to say his mind was to busy to process what she just said "what?" he mumbled
"what is your name," she repeated
"Zephyr" he said as his old name from a raceing game came to his mind
"Zephyr do you wish to join with us the cute mark crusaders to search for your cutiemark?" the orange filly asked.
"uhh...yes?" Said zephyr absentmindedly
The Three fillys smiled their smiles and whoosh they were off with poor zephyr in their hooves.

It Wasn't long before him and the three other crusaders made it to the town but they didn't stop running they kept going until zephyr could smell something sweet...Cupcakes! The Three Crusader let go of zephyr at the doorstep of a very yummy looking building,it looked as if it were made of candy and from within zephyr could smell the most wonderful treats being baked. all four crusaders With smiles plasterd on their faces walked into the bakery in search for something to satisfy their sweet tooth (sweet teeth?).
the three fillys took the lead and brought him to a counter where there was a blue baker pony with a pink mane who looked down at the three young filllys with a pleasant smile
"who's this?" the baker asked
"he's the newest cutie mark crusader....Zephyr" AppleBloom said
"ahh I see so you four looking for something sweet to bite?" asked the baker
"Yeah" alll four said in unison
"okay just one moment " the baker called "Pinkie pie"
"Yeeeeeeeeeeesssss?" Said a high pitched and very excited sounding voice
"we've got customers" The baker responded
"oooohhh YAY!" PInkie said
The baker walked into the kitchen as a pink blur shot out through another door behind the counter. The moment her eyes fell upon zephyr she gasped and ran through the same door she came from.
The Cutie Mark Crusaders +1 was walking along (after mrs cake gave them some cupcakes and appoligised for pinkies behaviour) and ZOOM A pink blur shot past them and then the pink pony was standing in front of them She took a deep breath and just started talking at the speed of light
"Cometosugarcubecornerquickihavesomethngspecialplannedhurry!" the pink pony covered her mouth and ran off again
"did...any of you catch that?" zephyr asked
"well i understood come to sugar cube corner" said scootaloo
"yeah lets go" said apple bloom and sweetie belle nodded
As soon as zephyr stepped into the door there was an explosion of sound and the first thing he heard was
"SURPRISE!" shouted pinkie
"wh...what for...me?" asked zephyr genuinely confused "Why?"
"well Ive never met you before and i know everpony so since i didn't know you i needed to through you a welcome to ponyville party!" said the energetic pink pony
"o...okay?" said zephyr as the other crusaders were going through the party to find the cupcakes.
"oh and my name is pinkie pinkie pie!" said pinkie "stay here i'll be right back."
"okay" said zephyr but his response was lost in the noise of the party
pinkie came back very quickly and she was followed by five other ponies one of which was miss fluttershy
"say hello everypony" pinkie said cheerfuly
"hi welcome to ponyville" said a purple unicorn "my name is twilight and i work at the library,"
"yeah yeah twi" said a light blue pegasus "enough with the boring stuff and now the one the only rainbow dash!" Gloated Rainbow dash
"oh you poor thing where are you'r parents?" asked a white unicorn
"oh umm i...d..i dont...have any parents" responded zephyr sadly
"oh my we must get you home at once" said miss fluttershy " i will take care of you."
"i...really?" Zephyr asked astounded by how fast she made the decision
"yes i will care for you" responded fluttershy "that is if you want me to..." her voice was alot softer on the second half
"i..i mean...of course...but why...?" asked zephy
"your in need and i...i couldent let somepony who needed me down" said miss fluttershy
"i...i..Thank you" Zephyr Hugs fluttershy
"well lets get you home now we'll start lessons tomorrow," stated fluttershy
"lessons?" Zephyr asks confused
"yes you need to learn how to fly you silly filly" Replied fluttershy
