Prologue: The End of a Dream signals the Beginning of a Nightmare

Another strong impact to the face finally did the trick; sending the opponent flying/spinning across the arena before finally dropping to the floor like a ton of lead; which is what the poor combatant was feeling like right now.

Through the many pains and sores that coursed through her nerves and the disorientated senses that originated from those wounds, the fallen warrior could still faintly hear the faint sounds of loud, dark cheering and applauses from around the environment, while her impaired and blurred vision could make out the small specks of bright clouded stars that shone through the dark clouds above.

As her mind worked quickly yet groggily to regain her bearings, she picked up a closer voice of an announcer.

“One!”

Soon the cheers and applauses were replaced by chanting that echoed the announcer’s count down.

“TWO!”

“THREE!”

Once her mind registered what was happening, the warrior tried vainly to remove her body from its fallen spread position on the ground, pleading it to summon whatever leftover strength she had left.

“FOUR!”

“FIVE!”

“SIX!”

As the countdown neared is ending, her frantic plea for strength continue; which only answered in the form of twitching fingers and toes to her now dead hands and feet.

“SEVEN!”

“EIGHT!”

“NINE!”

Knowing what was to come, the warrior ceased all attempts and merely closed her eyes in acceptance of bitter defeat.

“TEN! YOU’RE OUT!!!”

The ringing of a bell three times signalled the end of the match, and the audience exploded in cheers and applause for the spectacle they had witnessed with the colosseum; which stood in the embrace of the dark clouded night sky with blue walls of rich stone and columns of dark sapphire marble.

Within the centre of the structure, where the focus of the applause and wild jeers were being directed at, stood a professional wrestling arena with a black base, four red poles on each corner connected by four rows of dark blue rope, and the symbol of a yellow sun in the centre of the arena, where two lone figures stood; battered, bruised and cover in various scratches and cuts on their bare bodies.

The defeated of the two was once pure white in full body colour, now stained with the various black swelling of bruises and crimson red blood seeping from the cuts and scratches exchanged during the battle. Her form was flat on its back and spread out in an eagle like shape; her arms and wings lay spread out to her sides, while her legs remained close together yet apart enough to allow anyone sight of her uncovered regions, while her wide hips, which bore a symbol of the sun on each side, merely sat on the support of her large rump, which sank into the surface of the floor, along with her strained and messy pink tail. Her chest heaved and fell with each breath, allowing her large bust to rise and fall with it; which had also not been spared from the brutal beating as they too received many cuts and swelling patches of flesh from various attacks aimed at them, while her bright pink nipples retained a swollen swore look, with a stream of white liquid oozed out from them. Finally, her face had suffered similar damage from the battle, sporting a black eye in her left features, a small trickle of blood ran down the right side of her mouth, and her pink mane, which was originally rainbow and glistening, looked sweaty and dishevelled as three locks of it rested over the white muzzle of her face, while her horn, which possessed a few cracks here and there, was barely able to hold itself together.

Finally finding enough strength, Celestia was barely able to lift her upper body off the floor and support her weight, while she glared hatefully at the one she had done battle with.

The other combatant merely flashed an evil fanged smile and walked casually, yet wounded, towards the fallen Alicorn princess. Allowing a small sinister chuckle to escape their lips, the figure spoke with victory and wicked pleasure between her exhausted breaths. “Well Celestia… I must admit that… that battle was quite… the entertainment. Yet alas, you… have fallen.”

Now standing at the soles of her feet, the figure towered over Celestia, as her body was consumed by the figure’s shadow. “And as per the pack; I claim dominance over you.”

The last part nearly made Celestia’s arms give way from fear and exhaustion, but she steeled herself and swallowed her fear and pride; as she had to. Though she could not bear to give her enemy more satisfaction of the look of façade pride and masked defeat on her face and turned her gaze to the floor on her side.

“I… have lost. And so, by… the laws of the… pack, I… submit… to you…” she choked out.

She didn’t need to look at her opponent to know that their smile intensified upon hearing that declaration. She then heard the snap of her fingers and soon felt the shadow that had loomed over her take material form and began to creep up her body and spread like an infection.
Knowing this was her last moment of freewill, Celestia then turned to the figure with an intense and determined glare and spoke her final thoughts.

“But I will never be yours for eternity. Others will come, they will stop you, and you will fail.”

Silence fell within the colosseum as the fallen princess said her piece; whether from shock or amusement, it was uncertain. However, shortly afterwards, the figure in the arena merely laughed in amusement and sinister delight, bending down so that their snout was inches from touching hers, with the shadow making its way past Celestia’s bust.

“If you’re referring to that precious protégé of yours and her little ‘friends’, you should worry too much about them, dear Celestia; as they shall be joining you quite soon.”

Celestia’s expression fell from one of bravery and determination to one of shock and fear, as her mind processed on what they were implying. As the shadowy substance began to slowly cocoon her head and steal away her vision, the last of her thoughts drifted to the one pony she could always hope and count on.

‘Twilight…’
