Vengeance

Chapter 11.

Going back to the hospital:

Luna after receiving the phone call from Twilight hung up her phone and turned the van around just as she was about to get to Applejack's home. Applejack looked out at the side passenger window then up towards the front seat when she noticed Luna turning around she called out to her from her seat.

“Luna what in tarnation are you doing? My home is the back that way.”

Luna looked up in the rearview mirror saying to Applejack as she continued to drive away from Applejack’s home.

“I understand that Ms. Apple but, I just got a call from Twilight using my sisters phone, Sunset has taken a turn for the worst. I am going to pick up the rest of you girls then take you all over to the hospital.”

Applejack sat in silence for a few minutes not sure as to what to say to Luna after she heard Luna tell her about Sunset. As Luna pulled into Pinkie's driveway Applejack mustered up her courage and asked Luna who was about to dial Pinkies number on her phone.

“W…..what do you mean S...Sunset has taken a turn for the worst?”

Luna pressed the talk button on her phone then said to Applejack as the phone rang.

“I am not sure myself as to how bad it is Ms. Apple but, I assume it is pretty bad if Tia wasn’t able to tell me herself.”

The phone rang for a few minutes before Pinkie answered it in her usual bubbly sort of way.

“Hi there. Vice Principal Luna, has Sunset woken up yet? Is she asking for us? Maybe I should throw her a ‘glad your up and at'em’ party’ what do you think Vice Principal Luna?”

Sighing heavily and not wanting to really deal with Pinkies excited attitude Luna replied to Pinkie sternly.

“Ms. Pie I need you stop whatever it is that you are either planning or doing at this very moment. You need to come outside get into my van so you,I and the rest of the girls can all go to the hospital. Sunset has taken a turn for the worst. I don’t have time for these games of yours.”

Pinkie hearing that her best friend had taken a turn for the worst dropped her phone and ran outside. With her hair completely deflated and her skin four shades darker than what it normally was Pinkie looked like a complete wreck when she came out of her home. Getting to Luna’s van Pinkie was about to get in the front seat next to Luna when Luna said to her.

“The front seat is for Ms. Dash, Ms. Pie please take a seat next to Applejack in the back.”

Pinkie looked at Luna for a second then nodded to her as she went to the right side passenger door opened it up then climbed in. Applejack looked at her but, said nothing as Pinkie closed the van door as she asked Luna once she was seated and buckled in.

“Who do we need to pick up next? And is Sunny going to be ok Luna?”

Luna backed the van out of Pinkies driveway before she looked up into the rearview mirror replying to Pinkie.

“As I told Ms. Apple I’ll tell you as well Ms. Pie. I, really don’t know what happened to Sunset. All I know is that Twilight is at the hospital with Tia. Twilight was the one that called me using my sister’s phone. Twilight told me to pick you girls up, bring each of you to the hospital and that Sunset has taken a turn for the worst. Ms. Belle will be the next one we pick up then it will be Ms. Dash  and Ms. Shy whom, I assume are still both at Ms. Dash’s house spending some um, time together.”

Pinkie went dead silent when Luna explained to her what was going on. As tears came to her eyes and she could feel herself shaking from not knowing if Sunset was going to live or die. Applejack rested a gentle hand onto Pinkie's left shoulder saying to her softly.

“Hey, there; sugarcube I am, sure Sunset is going to be alright. We will more than likely get the hospital and she will be up and ‘em in time to see the cows come home.”

Pinkie didn’t reply to Applejack and Luna remained quiet until they got to Rarity’s house. Once they got there Luna took her phone out again and called Rarity as the phone rang Luna looked out the driver's side window and thought to herself.

“I really do hope my niece will be alright. I don’t want to lose her. I know Tia won’t be able to handle it. God please help us to find whoever did this to my niece.”

As Rarity answered her phone Luna said to her as calmly as she could muster while trying not to break down in front of Applejack and, Pinkie Pie.

“Ms. Belle I am out front of your house I need you stop what you are doing come outside. Get into my van with out any questions. Sunset has taken a turn for the worse. I am going to take you to the hospital to see her. Please get into one of the back seats when you come out.”

Rarity did as she was told, she came out of her house got into the back seat then buckled up. Applejack closed the door for her and Luna backed out of the drive way. On the way to Rainbows she tried calling but, all she got was a dial tone. Thinking to herself as the phone bleeped out it's annoying dial tone.

“Hmmm that is odd Rainbow almost never leaves her phone off the hook like this.”

Pulling into Rainbow’s driveway Luna got out saying to everyone that we're still in the van as she was about to close her door.

“You all stay here I will be back in a few minutes. And Ms. Pie.”

“Yes” Pinkie replied.

Pinkie's hair  was still deflated and her skin was still four shades darker than normal while she looked at Luna and Luna in turn looked back her as Luna said to her.

“Don’t mess with my radio stations like you did the last time you were in my van.”

Luna closed the van’s door then walked up to Rainbows front door and rang the doorbell. Fluttershy answered the door a look of both concern and sadness was etched on to her face. Luna looked at her for a few seconds then said to her softly.

“I take it by the look on your face Ms. Shy you already know what has occurred with Sunset?”

Fluttershy nodded then stepped to the right allowing Luna to enter Rainbows small but, quaint home. This was the first time that Luna had been to Rainbows home since Rainbow’s caretaker Maya hand been killed in a car crash. Luna looked around and saw several photo’s hanging on the wall next to the front door of the house. Knowing she didn’t have time to ask questions about them she headed upstairs where she found Rainbow still sitting on the kitchen floor crying. Kneeling down to her Luna placed a gentle hand onto Rainbows right knee saying to her.

“Ms. Dash I know things look really bad right now. But, Sunset really needs you to be strong for her. Please will you let me help you up and bring you to my van so you can go see her at the hospital. I know that knowing what was done to her hurts and that you more than likely feel like no understands your pain right now. But, I can assure you, that you are not alone. Please let me bring you to Sunset.”

Rainbow nodded and let both Luna and Fluttershy help her off the kitchen floor. Looking around for a few seconds Luna found a box of tissues and used one to help dry Rainbows tears. Looking into Rainbow’s blood shot eyes Luna said to her softly.

“It’s going to be ok Ms. Dash I know you are in great pain over all that has happened but, you need to try to remain strong for Sunset.”

Looking down Rainbow replied to Luna as Luna wiped away the last of her tears.

“I know I need to stay strong for her, I just feel so lost and angry Sunset didn’t deserve this. I just want her to be home with you and Principal Celestia is all.”

Sighing as she gently took Rainbow by her hand Fluttershy lead Rainbow out to the front door and to Luna’s van saying to Rainbow when they got to Luna’s van.

“We all want Sunset home and safe. We all want this nightmare to be just a nightmare Rainbow, but it isn’t. We need you and you need us. Get in so we can all go see her. I will walk with you down to Sunsets room every step of the way.”

Luna came out then looked down at the potted plants as she knelt down to retrieve the hidden key with the first potted plant’s pot she thought to herself.

“This isn’t right my niece didn’t ask for this. Why would anyone do such a horrible thing? Am I being punished for all the things I did when I had my mental brake down ten years ago? Is that why this is happening now? I wish Maya Lang where here she would know what to do, god I miss her so much.”

Getting the key then standing back up Luna locked up Rainbow’s house, then headed over to her van and got in. Fluttershy climbed in as well and took her seat in the back while Rainbow sat up front. Each of the girls in turn had a million thoughts running through their minds as Luna turned the key in the ignition and started up the van. Backing out of the driveway Luna began to drive the group to the hospital thinking to herself as she drove down the road.

“Please Sunset, Please be alright.”

It took just under a half hour to get to the hospital from Rainbow’s house. When Luna pulled in she circled the parking lot then found a place to park in the visitor section. Parking the van and shutting off the ignition Luna turned and looked at Rainbow who sniffed and looked back at her. Luna offered a gentle smile to Rainbow and she and Rainbow followed by the rest of the girls all got out of the van. Making their way to the hospital lobby Luna asked the nurse if her sister had arrived yet. After being told which waiting room to go to Luna lead the group to the room that both her sister and Twilight where in. Getting to the room and seeing Celestia on the floor cradled by Twilight Luna whispered out.

“No”

Twilight looked up at her friends and simply shook her head as Rainbow bolted from the room down the hallway and disappeared around the corner. Fluttershy rain after her while the rest of the girls all hugged each other and cried. Celestia could be heard sobbing out saying through her sobs.

“My daughter that bastard took my little Sunny from me.”
