Chapter 18:

Rainbow’s choice.

Rainbow Dash, had followed the young green haired golden eyed girl down the street from the park that she had found herself at. The green haired girl took Rainbow to a building six blocks from where she had found Rainbow crying. Fishing through her purse with her good hand she dug out her keys and placed the key into a blue steel door then turned it to the left to unlock the door. Once the two of them were inside the building and the door was shut tight behind Rainbow the green haired girl turned to her saying to her.

“It's this way”

“What’s ‘this way’ all I see is a whole lot of nothing” Rainbow replied grimly.

The green haired girl just shrugged her shoulders then took Rainbow by her hand and led her down a long hallway. When she came to a brown door she stopped for a minute and looked at Rainbow who said to her as she placed both arms under her chest.

“What?!” Rainbow snapped back heatedly to the green haired girl.

The green haired girl looked at Rainbow then at the door in front of her before saying to her.

“If you choose to enter this room, then you choose to deal with this fully I will show you what I have on him. But, after that it is up to you if you really want justice or vengeance.”

Rainbow looked down then slowly raised her head as she said to the green haired girl in front of her.

“Alright I understand; let's, get this over with.”

The girl opened the door and the two of them walked in. In front of Rainbow was a large bulletin board with newspaper clippings and other papers stuck to it. To her left was a large filing cabinet in front of her was a desk with a computer on it. Sitting next to that was a medium sized red wagon. When Rainbow saw it and looked back at the green haired girl she thought was a little odd for the girl to have given that to Rainbow at least the girl next to her looked be in her mid to late teens. Rainbow looked at her and she looked back at Rainbow as Rainbow said while pointing to the wagon.

“Uh, aren’t you a little old for ummmm well you know toys?”

“I thought you came here to find out how I found you and how I know what happened to you Rainbow? Not to question me about items that I have kept from my past to remind myself why I need help finding this person”

Shrugging her shoulders Rainbow had a sheepish grin on her face as she said to the girl in front of her.

“You're right I did come here to learn this alright show me what it is that you know about me.”

The green haired girl walked over to the filing cabinet opened it up then took out several files these she handed to Rainbow. When Rainbow took the files she noticed that one of the files said on the ledger ‘Maya Anderson William Lang’ on it. Setting the files down on near by near by desk Rainbow took out Maya’s file then looked at the green haired girl saying to her as she opened the file.

“Why do you have a file with Maya’s name on it?”

The girl looked at her then sighed as she reached over Rainbows arms opened the middle drawer of the desk and took out a photo this she like the files handed to Rainbow. Saying to her as Rainbow took the photo from her setting down Maya’s file.

“Because of who my father was.”

Rainbow held up the photo and saw that in the photo was Maya and a man standing next to her both of them had full piece suits on and both had badges on the fronts of their coats. Looking up at the green haired girl Rainbow asked with some confusion in her voice.

“I don’t understand who is this person standing next to Maya in this photo and why does she have a badge on her chest?”

Taking the photo back the green haired girl said to Rainbow as she placed it back into the desk and closed the dwar.

“He is or rather was Maya’s partner with the Federal Bureau of Investigations. Maya’s daughter Sunrise Lang used to be babysat by my father when she was rapped and killed by the same man that did this to you and to Sunset Maya went nuts. She actually put my father’s life in jeopardy on an unrelated case to this one so seeing that Maya wasn’t about to get the help she needed. My father had little choice in the matter he went to the board of inquiry and had her fired. Taking what happened to her daughter badly and being told that the case was to be put on hold indefinitely my father made copies of the files that you have now. Each time someone would pop up on the news with being rapped or being killed my father and several of his friends would do their own little investigation. It didn’t take him long to realize that some one with LOTS of money was keeping this person’s name out of something called codex. And thus kept that bastards Identity from the FBI.”

“Who would do such a thing like that?” Rainbow asked as she looked down at the floor of the room she and the green haired girl were in.

“I don’t know I like my father before me never found out who this person was. I never found out who would hide such a monster from the law. Anyways I know about you because my father's friends kept me informed of any new people that went to the hospital with cuts on their arms. Like the ones you and I have now, like the one that Sunset would have had if she had lived. I paid the nurses and the orderlies to inform me of such transgressions.”

Rainbow closed her eyes the reopened her eyes as she picked up the files on the desk. Rainbow looked at her then towards the door before she headed to it she looked back at the green haired girl and said to her with a slight amount of anger in voice.

“Tell do you or father’s friends know where this person is at the present moment?”

The green haired girl sighed then looked down at the floor as she walked over to a nearby crate saying to Rainbow.

“No I do not know where he is at the moment but, I do know how he will find you and thus you will be able to put an end to this.”

Rainbow quirked an eyebrow to this statement made by the girl standing in front of the crate as she said to her.

“OOOOKAY I think that needs to be explained.”

“Its simple turn around and look up.” The girl replied while pointing up past the door they had both come through.

Rainbow looked towards the spot the girl was pointing to and saw a blinking red light above the door. Pursing her eyebrows together tightly she said as she turned back to face the girl who was now standing in front of her computer with her finger on the ‘Enter’ button.

“What the hell is that blinking light up there?”

The girl half smiled as she said to Rainbow sternly.

“It is the means of by which you and your rapist will meet again and thus you will be able to put an end to this nightmare Rainbow. I have been recording you this whole time and as such on that tape it is going to show that you have the files needed to put this monster behind bars for life. I press this button and this all goes viral. Hopefully he will somehow see this recording and find you and thus you can have your…..justice.”

Rainbow took a step towards the girl but, stopped as Rainbow looked down saying to her.

“Why not put yourself in danger to get your brand of justice your self? Why ask me do this for you?”

The girl looked down as Rainbow looked back up removing her finger from the computer saying to Rainbow.

“Because there isn’t enough time for me to do this Rainbow…...I’m dying I only have a few months left. You see I have acute myelogenous leukemia when I say I have only a few months left I really mean it. So to you I give you this choice let me press the button on the computer and end this nightmare for both of us. Or walk out that door take the files with you and never know why this happened to you. The choice is now yours to make Rainbow but, I am too tired to care what choice you choose to go with.”

Rainbow looked from the green haired girl then to the wagon next to the filing cabinet as she said to her.

“Let me take that crate and the wagon as well as the newspaper clippings on your bulletin board as well as any other files you might have on this person. Then once I am done packing everything I will be the one to press that button it is after all my life that you're putting in danger after all.”

The green haired girl nodded and walked over to the crate that she had been standing by earlier. Rainbow also walked over to it together they picked it up and placed it inside the wagon sitting next to the filing cabinet. Once this was done the green haired girl walked out of the room leaving Rainbow to take down the bulletin board herself. Rainbow spent ten minutes doing this as she placed the last of the newspaper clippings into the crate she looked at the computer then said to herself while placing her finger on the ‘Enter’ button.

“Come get me you bastard I will be fully ready for you this time.”

Rainbow pressed the button on the screen a white line popped up with the words ‘down loading in progress please wait ten minutes’. Rainbow half smiled to herself as she loaded the rest of the files that the green haired girl gave her into the crate. Once she was done and satisfied that there was nothing else to take she said to herself as she made her way to the door.

“I will let Twilight go over all this work she is far better at figuring stuff like this out than I am.”

Rainbow opened the door with her good hand then started to drag the wagon out into the hallway. As she did so she heard crying coming from another room stopping she followed the crying sound until she found the girl with green hair sitting on a makeshift bed in another room. Rainbow walked into the room sighed then said to her.

“Hey it’s done I pressed the button on your computer within ten minutes that bastard should know that I am still alive and should come looking for me…...I hope.”

The girl looked up then wiped her tears away as she said to Rainbow.

“Good now you need to go I am sure your friends whom I saw at the funeral are all worried about you.”

Yeah about that how did you know where the funeral was let alone what I look like?” Rainbow replied with a puzzled look on her face.

“I know what you look like and where the funeral was for your friend because I told you my father use to work for the FBI and my mother left me money. I used that money to get the information you need it’s all in the last file that I gave you. Now if you will please leave I want to be left alone now thank you.” The green haired girl replied as she got up and gently pushed Rainbow out of the room she was in then shut the door.

Rainbow sighed to herself as she turned back to the wagon she took a hold of it then proceeded to head out of the building she was in. Once she was outside Rainbow looked around then headed for the park with the wagon in tow. Rainbow cut through the park then headed to the local church and cut through the graveyard at the church. Stopping briefly to look at Sunsets grave before she headed for home. Saying to herself as she looked at Sunset’s grave.

“I have all that I need now to give you peace Sunset I swear to you, you and I and all those that have suffered from this bastard will have our justice. I promise you this Sunset.”

Getting home she found that Twilight and Fluttershy were not  at home. When Rainbow walked into the house she walked into the garage then pressed the button on the wall next to her. Opening the garage door Rainbow pulled the wagon into the garage then closed it and headed up stairs to the kitchen. From there she made herself some food to eat and sat down on the couch waiting for the two of them to show up. As she waited she dug out her phone and called Fluttershy getting her voicemail she left her a message then hung up the phone and soon fell asleep on the couch. Fluttershy, Twilight and Princess Celestia all showed up several hours later as Fluttershy had gotten Rainbows message she went into the garage got the crate out of the wagon and brought it inside. Twilight had gone to Rainbows room got a blanket for Rainbow then came back and gently draped it over her sleeping friend. Princess Celestia nodded to Fluttershy who showed her where she would be sleeping that night and gave her the crate then went to bed herself. Twilight bowed to Princess Celestia saying to her as she bowed deeply to her princess.

“May I please if it will please you your majesty help you with finding this person.”

Princess celestia nodded to Twilight and the two of them headed into the spare room to begin going over the files that Rainbow had brought home with her.
