//-------------------------------------------------------// Doctor Whooves Chronicles -by ToxicTox- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A Doc and Pony Show Part 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// A Doc and Pony Show Part 1 It was a beautiful day in Ponyville, birds chirping, the weather was clearer than it has ever been all year, and the flowers and plants outside were just starting to bloom. A beautiful day indeed, but this is not where my story began. None of my stories ever do, but that’s okay, this is only the beginning of the story, there’s still lots of opportunities for amazing adventures. And in the end, that's what life is really about, well, my life at least. My name is the Doctor, and this is my story. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If Spacetime could be heard, and had anyone been in the Everfree Forest, than they would have hear the sound of tearing on this particular day. The only actual evidence of this, first came as rippling distortions in the air above the humid forest. At the center of these ripples materialized a blue box; as it violently rocketed through into this new universe, and into the forest and ground below it managed to cut out a scar into the land as evidence of it’s arrival. The now new opening into the forest was immediately occupied by clouds of dirt. As the air cleared, the door to this blue box was on its side and pried open, where a brown pony crawled his way out into the light with some debri of the interior falling out in the absence of his presence. *cough* “Well that certainly could have gone smoother.” Turning himself around to face the blue box, he looked to it as if he had some sort of grudge against it. With little delay, his thoughts manifested into words. “In mid-regeneration, you fly straight into a rift in space and time! Who does that? I have no clue what could have happened.” As the brown pony turn himself around as he laid on the grown, something felt off with how he moved. Trying to stand upright so that he could properly inspect his current situation; the awkwardness manifested itself again and he lost his balance, falling down onto his rear and back. Taking notice that his view has change to that of the sky above he doesn’t reflect any sign of being surprised. “Well dear me, my legs seem to have broken in the crash, well good thing I’m still regenerating. “ Pausing only long enough to deliver his message, to no one in particular; he re attempts the procedure. First rolling back over and then pushing himself back up to his hind feet as he tries to stand, despite his efforts and concentration; he finds himself incapable of standing up. “What in the name of Gallifrey is going on!?” As he cautiously positions himself again, the brown pony take note of the condition of his limbs as he readies them, only to be dumbfounded and confused at what he sees. First looking at one hoof where his foot use to be, then to his hand and then quickly to the other hand. He stares for a bit as he starts to make sense of his senses again. He quickly sit up right and looks down to his body. He glances around to see his back side where he finds his tail; and then back to where his hand’s once were as if double checking them. Continuing with his review of his new alien body he looks to one hoof, than the other, then back again, then grabs his rear hoof and pulls it to his face. Still not comfortable controlling the body he ends up rolling around has he checks and rechecks his various extremities. “Why have I got four legs!? Oh they’re backwards! I haven’t got any toes!” His rolling around like a helpless foal eventually runs the brown pony back into the side of the blue box that he arrived in. In the debri that trickled out after him, he finds what a common pony would think to be a mirror in the rubble, to which he could examine himself with. He looks and sees what he believes to be his eyes and face, only through induction. “I’m a horse! How is this possible!?” Still examining himself, he pulls himself back from the mirror like object to get a broader view, when something on his flank catches his eye. “Is this an hourglass? I’ve got an hourglass on my rear! Is that a brand? No, doesn’t look like one.” Not happy with his current situation, the brown pony conclude that he must act. The only thing in his way is the blockade the now occupies the opening to the blue box. “Come on, open up! Can’t you wait five minutes to do this baby? My sonic is in there!” He pounded on the door into the box, doing nothing except making a loud noise. Each time he hit the door, a bit of golden wisp escaped from his mouth. Slowly, the hits started getting softer and slower, until he collapsed onto the ground. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Unbeknownst to the traveler, someone actually did notice his arrival. In the town of Ponyville, a young mint-colored unicorn was hiding behind a dumpster in an alleyway. Nearby, voices could be heard. “Come on out Lyra. You know I'm gonna find you.” Lyra shivered, a tear running down her face. She peeked out and saw a purple shaded pegasus. The pegasus didn’t notice her and Lyra quickly returned to hiding. Listening to her steps, the pegasus seemed to be going away. Lyra peeked out to see an empty alley. With a sigh of relief, she stepped out, looking around again to make sure she was really gone. Suddenly, she was doused with a bucket of cold water from above, looking up, Lyra saw the pegasus flying above her, laughing with an empty bucket in her possession. “Why can’t you just leave me alone?” Lyra asked. “What? You needed to cool off, you want another?” She pulled down a cloud and started filling the bucket up. Quickly, Lyra started running, not anywhere in particular, just away from her. The pegasus gave chase luckily the bucket of water was slowing her down. Her wings flapped furiously as she tried to catch up, Lyra didn’t look back. Quickly, she turned around a corner and hid under the porch of someone’s home. After a few seconds, Lyra could hear the frustration of the pegasus as she threw the bucket to the ground before she flew away. This time Lyra waited before coming out of her hiding place. She brushed the dirt she collected under the porch off of herself and looked around. During the chase she had no clue where she was going. Turning to look behind her, she saw a line of trees. She was on the outskirts of the Everfree forest, no sane pony would dare go in there. She was about to turn back when she noticed something odd above the forest. Since when could air ripple? That’s odd even for the Everfree. She looked at the ripples and suddenly she saw a blue box crash through the sky, landing deep in the forest. The air erupted in the sound of a loud crashing. It pierced her ears, making her crouch down and covering them. “GAAAH! What is that!?” She screamed, her ears ringing. When she got up, Lyra didn’t see any sign of the crash. She looked around, someone had to have heard that, but nopony was there. She stared in the direction it landed. The only evidence that it happened was the ringing in her ears. Out of worry for any potential life the box may have hit, Lyra ran into the forest, ignoring all basic instinct. Eventually, she got deep enough into the forest that the trees covered the sun, making it appear as night. She had no clue which way was which now. Alright, break time. I need to gain my bearings. She thought to herself, stopping. She looked around for some sign of where she was. This is hopeless, I can’t even tell which way I came from! She was about to just pick a random direction when she heard a noise, it sounded like growling coming from behind her. Slowly, she turned to face whatever was growling. Lyra found herself facing a large wolf made out of branches and sticks. “Th-that’s a timberwolf!” She thought to herself. She didn't dare move, she knew how fast these things could run. Her best bet was to stand as still as possible and hope it went away. The beast approached her, sniffing the ground, then her. Lyra’s legs shook in fear. After it finished sniffing, the wolf bared its teeth and growled again. This monster didn't intend on going away. Immediately, Lyra took off, the timberwolf following behind. Luckily, Lyra had done a lot of running in her life. She had developed a talent for it. Running through the thick underbrush of the forest. She weaved in between trees to try and throw the beast off, but it did little good. Still running, she scooped up rocks with her magic and threw them at the wolf, still doing nothing to it. “Come on, think. I’ve learned about these things before. What was their weakness? Think, think, think!” And suddenly an idea popped into her head, she stopped and turned to face the timberwolf. It charged toward her as Lyra’s horn started glowing. Right before it got to Lyra, a loud whistling noise filled the air. The wolf stopped, cowering and whining. It then ran away, trying to get away from the noise piercing its ears. Lyra laughed. “Sensitive to loud noises, noted.” Her moment of triumph was interrupted by the sound of a voice, it sounded like a stallion. “Wha...is somepony down here?” She followed the voice, listening to what it said. “Come on, open up! Can’t you wait five minutes to do this baby?” What is he talking about? She kept walking and saw a clearing, in the center was the box that she had seen before, and someone desperately trying to get in. He was banging on the doors like a madpony. She noticed something leaving him with each breath, some kind of golden whisp. She was about to approach him when he suddenly collapsed. Immediately, Lyra ran out to help him. “Are you okay mister!?” She asked frantically. Oh no, what if he’s dead? With this thought, she checked his pulse. It felt out of control. Quickly, she picked him up and laid him over her back, running back toward town. “You’re going to be okay, I promise. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When the pony awoke, he didn’t recognize anything. He looked around frantically, noticing Lyra, he froze. “Where am I?” He asked. “Well ,you’re in my house. I found you in the Everfree Forest. What were you doing there? Who are you?” “I’m the Doctor, just the Doctor. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m sure you have a lot of questions but I definitely have more. First, are you a unicorn?” “Um...yeah, of course.” She looked confused. “Okay, now when you found me, was there a sort of blue box? I need it.” “Yeah, you were trying to get into it, then you collapsed. You were out for half a day.” “Exactly half a day?” He questioned. “Well, a little over twelve hours I think.” He got up. “Well thank you for your care, but I need to get home.” He said, trotting to the door. “Are you sure you’re okay?” She asked. “Yeah, I’m the Doctor here, I’ll be fine.” He stepped out the door. Lyra sat down. “Well that was weird. Probably shouldn’t have brought him in here, seemed like a nut job. And why did he talk so fast?” Before she had time to ponder these questions, she heard what sounded like a loud roar from some kind of angry unspoken god. Her windows shattered. As quick as he was vanished, the Doctor burst back into the home. Quite literally, he somehow managed to break the door off its steel hinges. He looked panicked. “You may want to see this!” He shouted, pulling her out of the house. “What's going on!” She shouted at him as she got pulled out the door. “That is!” The Doctor pointed up into the sky. There was some kind of vortex, pulling everything that got near into it. Whole houses have already been destroyed. Only one thing managed not to get pulled in. It just danced around the edge of the abyss swirling in the sky, a blue box. TO BE CONTINUED Author's Note Thank you for reading this first story of "Doctor Whooves Chronicles".
