After a thousand years in darkness
the hour of tragedy
Load Full StoryEverything had come undone now that she, my Christine had seen my face and what I had become. After I tried so hard to get her to choose to stay with me, …I had given her everything my music, my heart and soul but in the end she still chose him. He who had barely been in her life, where I had been with her since she was eight and lost her father to disease and sickness. I had become her angle of music…now she betrayed and denied her angle of music.
I covered the my face that was disfigured and scared with my hand and reached out to her as the Vie cont took her away up the stone steps as fast he could. Could get her away from the monster that I had become. I then placed both hands on the ground and wept.
“Why Christine, why did you betray me” it was then that I knew it had come time to end it all. My house would burn but one-day god willing I would have my revenge. This unbearable pain I felt in this very moment the Opera house shall burn, was of no use to me now that she was gone.
I rose to my feet, picking up the very mask that had been my sole companion over there years. I placed it back on my face and tied it behind my head, then ascended up the stone steps that went up into the opera house.
Meanwhile
I felt darkness and cold stone that numbed every inch of my body. Celestia was betraying me was the last thing I remembered. She slay…. no she Murdered my husband. She will rue the day she took everything from me that I had built in the new life I had received. Now I lay in darkness the floor underneath me is cold and damp and, the smell of death all around me.
I stir as I heard a loud boom shaking the ground under me, my eyes opening to darkness all around. I pressed my hands against the ground to sit up; my head was pounding with Pain that felt immeasurable. I heard water dripping in the distance; I slowly got up still blind in the darkness around me. I felt dizzy as I stood up and had to lean on a wall.
But when I placed my hand down to hold myself-steady, it fell on something instead something hard yet smooth. As I ran my fingers along its rough edges, it had two sockets. I raised my eyebrow as I moved my fingers over it; it was spherical on the back of then as I ran them back over this object I felt facial features. On the front of it, that’s when I realized I was touching a skull.
So I gently took my hand off the skull, before placing my hand on the stone ledge. I slowly began to move forward holding onto the ledge for support. I began to limp down the hallway. I had sustained a lot of damage from battling Celestia, I tried so hard to save my husband…but she turned him to ash in front of me.
I growled in pain, the very thought of Celestia burning for her sin was enough to keep me going. It was about fifteen minutes before I had to stop to rest, before continuing. I leaned against a wall catching my breath; I felt blood dripping from my injuries. I wasn’t sure how much blood I was losing but it felt like I was losing enough that I was about to pass out. As I made way down the tunnel I saw torchlight, I reached for it but I collapsed to my knees when I heard shouting.
“ Where is that monster – I heard but barely as I felt myself fading fast. Just a little further I thought to myself as I army crawled down the tunnel towards the light.
“ Help….” I said but it seemed my cries for help were too silent to be heard. My vision started to go, as I felt the cold touch of death creeping over my body. “ Someone help!” I screamed as loud as I could praying someone save me from death's grip. And that is when everything went dead silent…. I felt something was coming for me; I gulped fearing I may never make it out alive.
Then he appeared a dark angle, or at least he appeared that way considering how loopy I was going from blood loss and death at my door. I felt so helpless in my final hour. I reached out to him with my strength I had left…I passed out and saw my hand falling to the ground.
I heard someone call out for help, and I came as fast as I could. When I did reach the tunnel to which the cry for help I saw a young woman on the ground near death. I kneel down to grab her hand when it falls short and she passes out.
I took her hand in mine, it had cuts almost all over it, and I was shocked to say the least when I saw the rest of her in my lantern’s light. There were deep cuts on her back, blood seemed to have stained her dress, and it was white like fallen snow and sparkled like starlight.
I turned her over and she had cuts there to but nowhere near serious as those on her back. I slid my arms under her and picked her up. And my lantern in my magic, I knew I should take her to a doctor but the risk of being exposed was too great right now. So I took her back to my lair where I tended to her injuries and cleaned her up.
I felt magic surrounding my body, I wasn’t sure how much time had passed but I felt safe. After so long I finally felt safe, so either I was dead or someone did come as I felt life returning to my body. When my eyes began to open I swore I saw the dark angel dressed in black with a white mask covering his face.
“ Thank…. you” was all I managed to say before slipping back into darkness.
