Waking up to a from a thunderstorm is never fun. It’s even worse when you’re home alone. What’s worse than that? Being sixteen years old and all alone in this world we live in. I remember when I was little and there had been a lightning storm, I’d run to my dad and cry in his arms. I wouldn’t do that now because I had grown out of that phase and also the fact that he’s... Up there in the stars. No one would have ever thought he would lose his life in a car crash, especially me.

For three months now, he has been gone. I’ll never forget what he told me that fateful day in the hospital. “You’re a strong boy and I know, no matter what the world throws at you, you’ll prosper. I’ve done my best to raise you but the rest is up to you. You remind me so much of her. She was strong like you, smart like you, rash like you, and if I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were blood related. I don’t have much time left. I want you to know that I love you son and soon I’ll be up there with mom so it’s not all bad.” He said with a forced smile. Tears ran down both of our faces as he continued. “Whatever you do Blake, please don’t open the top drawer in my room. There are things that you are not meant to see in there. Please obey my last wish.” He said with his tone getting weaker and weaker.

“I promise Dad” I forced out. “I love you.” He smiled and soon his face turned to a blank expression. A day doesn’t go by when I don’t wonder what could possibly be in that drawer but all I know is, he didn’t want me to see it. If it wasn’t his dying wish, I’d know already but respect for my father is something I’ll always maintain.

“IT’S. PARTY. TIME!!! COME. ON. RAINBOW. WE. GOTTA. MEET. EVERY. PONY. AT SUGAR. CUBE. CORNER!” Pinkie had shouted to Rainbow Dash. With the help of her trampoline, she had gotten the message across to her friend in the cloud house.

“Go away Pinkie. I’m staying home.” I had shouted as she dug her face deeper into her pillows.

“But it’s gonna. be fuuuuun!” Pinkie insisted.

“I SAID GO AWAY!”

“Well no need. to be a. meanie!” She yelled into the cloud house as she bounced.

“If only you knew” Rainbow had said looking to the corner of her room where a cardboard box full of toys and memories resided. She began to rise from her bed and move towards the box. As she looked into the box, tears began to run down her eyes. She’d found the pictures of her and her father. Her depression had turned to determination. “I have to find a way back to him” Dashie had said to herself. “It’s what needs to be done.” At that point she had flew off to Twilight’s house.

Upon arriving at the library tree house, she checked all the windows to see if anyone was there. Luckily, She would be alone. She made her way to the back of the house and lifted a rock to reveal Twilight’s spare key. She unlocked and opened the door, turned on the lights and began her search. “Now, if I were an egghead, where would I keep books on travelling to different worlds?” She had searched and searched but there was a point where she had checked every book. “If Twilight doesn’t have a spell for it, then how’d they travel to earth to find me!?!?” Then it struck her. “The Archives in Canterlot! They must’ve found the spell in one of the books in the archives!” Rainbow Dash had a less than positive history when it came to stealing books but to see her father again, She’d do anything.
