//-------------------------------------------------------// The Wanderer -by Warspite- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Intro to Jason //-------------------------------------------------------// Intro to Jason "Contact left ridge!" "Charles we need that air support! We need it now!" "I'm trying! The radio is broken!" "Mierda!" "We have to move! There are over 500 Taliban! If that air support doesn't hurry there asses up, were going to have to pull!" "Jason! Get that LMG up! We are not going to let them get this outpost!" So much blood... "Snap out of it! There's RPG fire coming in! Get that '50 up!" KABOM "Fuck! They took out another sniper tower! GET THAT FUCKER UP!" I slowly move to the machine gun and reloaded it. My hand all bloody from trying to help my friend from bleeding out. "Just push through it! Your doing-" *BANG* "Sniper!" Someone yelled behind me. I looked back to my caption, who was now missing half of his head. "They have tanks! 3 in total!" Another yelled. My mind was making so many decisions that I froze. *POW* "Tanks are firing! We need some mines or something or we're all dead!" *POW* *POW* *FATWAAA* "A shit they blew up the ammo cache!" I turned my head to see 4 soldiers run out on fire. "There firing HE!" I yelled. I soon as as I said those words, a tank busted through the front gates. It had an ISIS flag on the back near the engine. Apparently somebody listened, and laid a mine down, destroying it. But the other two were still coming to the gates. There machine guns started opening fire. "Fall back to the square! We need to regroup!" I headed for the square when the tanks focused fire on us. And killed almost half of us. "There going for the gas tanks!" There was a shot from one of the tanks. And a massive blinding light and an explosion that forced me to the ground and knocked me out cold. I re-awoke to find myself strapped to a chair with my legs tapped to the chair legs. I checked my surroundings. I'm a dark room with a single light over my head, the room itself was mostly hot air and dry with a door 3 feet in front of me. I tried to speak but my throat was extremely dry and it hurt to even breath. I tried to loosen my bindings, but they must have used a lot of tape on my legs because I could barley even wiggle my legs. My wrist straps were easily loosened, but as soon as I was about to get them off I heard footsteps coming twords the door. I quickly moved back to my original sitting position and was ready to pounce on whoever was coming to the door. " nem , 'annah hnak! wakan alwahid ealaa qayd alhia! la alqaraf ..." ("Yes, he's in there! He was the only one alive! No shit...") I try to calm myself and regain my composure and wait for them to walk in. " nem , nahn nadhhab l maerifat ma 'iidha kan yaerif 'ay shay' . " ("Yes, we are going to see if he knows anything.") They opened the door with a cart with some sort of tools on it. What got my attention was a large, poorly kepped, dagger and a bottle of salt. They moved the cart to the left of my chair and looked at me. Obviously waiting for something. Then another person came through the door and closed it, then locked it. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you mister Jason. But I wish it were under better circumstances." He said in a heavy Muslim acent. I stayed quiet. "Not the talker kind? I respect that, a smart man knows when to keep his mouth shut and listen. It's better that way." He said while walking right to left in front of me. He suddenly got closer to me, so close I could see the veins in his eyes. "Those are the ones that die quicker to..." He whispered darkly. He backed away and returned to his normal facial mask. "I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself, I am Mulan Haman, the leader of this little organization." Mulan proudly stated. I kepped eye contact as best as I can, but was starting to get nervous. Mulan moved to the cart beside me, and started to caress some of the tools. "I want something Jason. I want to know why you are supporting the natives, why you are protecting them from us, arming them to fight us. If you tell us, we will let you go. If not, we will force it out of you." He said as he brought up a meat cleaver. (Holy shit a meat cleaver....) I thought. "It's your decision. So, will you tell us? Or will you refuse, like most Americans?" I knew I would die either way, I don't know were I am, I have no equipment on me that could help me, and for all I know, my friends are dead. If I don't tell them, they will torture me until I die, because I won't tell them. "You better hurry mister Jason, I'm not a patient man." He smiled at me, so did his guards. I needed a plan...and bingo. "So be it, let's start with the blade please." Mulan directed one of his bodyguards to grab the dagger. Perfect... Once he had it in his hand, he moved closer to me. "Leave us, I wish to enjoy this myself." Mulan ordered his guards. They obayed, and left the room and re-locked it. "Let's start-" I launched myself at him, using all my force with the chair which knocked him down. Mulan grabbed the dagger and tried to stab me, but I loosened my bindings and grabbed his arm. At the angle I was at, and since my legs were tapped, he was at an advantage. But he was also stupid. He left his chest completely exposed. And he did not have a good grip on the dam thing. I twisted as hard as I could to aim the dagger to his chest, his smile only grew wider as the dagger got closer to his chest. "Yes, yes! Come on! Us your training to kill me!" Mulan yelled. His eyes were shaking in his sockets as his smile grew even wider, almost like he was going insane.... ...and I believed he was. As the dagger ripped through him, his blood started flowing down my arm and was  dripping on to me mouth, making my clothes and face all crimson red. Even some went into my mouth, making me taste metallic. As the dagger went deeper, ripping flesh as it went, he slowly stopped his force. And eventually stopped his resistance. And fell beside me lifeless. I pulled the dagger out of him and cut the tape off my legs. I opened the door a little bit and peaked out, his guards where nowhere in sight. I slowly moved down a dark hallway, what I wanted to do was try and find there armory and steal what I could. I barley could see anything, the only light source was a lightly lit room on the right of the hallway. I slowly and cautiously approached the door. It was unhinged, and only covered about half the door frame. I peaked around the corner. There were four guards patrolling the area, and they look like there protecting a weapons depot. And there were a lot of weapons... (FLASHBACK TO HQ) I was sitting in a very uncomfortable metal chair as we were getting our debriefing. Apparently, ISIS has seized another one of our bases near Falujia. It was getting bad. Everyday they were getting more and more recruits, there army is getting larger and more advanced. General Lynch is giving us a mission that could stun them, and give us an opening to take back Falujia. ISIS has a stronghold just outside of the town, we think most of there forces were in or near the stronghold. "Here's the plan, we need to send a couple of tanks to the front entrance to create a steel wall. While the front is occupied, we will need to send three squads of marines to clear the back. There objective is a weapons cache that we think will be used to attack Falujia, once that's taken care of, they will signal the tanks to bust through the front of the stronghold and destroy there fuel line. If there are any survivors, kill them, we can't let any of them leave. Once that's done, we send a couple of attack choppers to level the base to the sand. After that, we move to Falujia and defend the town from future attacks. Any questions? No? Then lets get moving!" Lynch yelled. There were combined cheers and 'Uh-rah's as we quickly left the debriefing. But I had a sinking feeling, I don't know what it is, but it feels bad. (PRESENT) Well, I guess they found out. They attacked our base rather quickly. I moved as quietly as possible inside the room. As I moved I noticed something about the guards, they would occasionally look behind them and look back. Like they were watching something. I stuck with the shadows, quietly moving behind my first victim. He was leaning against the wall, looks like he was about to doze off. I pulled the rusty dagger out from my belt and lunged at him. I covered his mouth as I sliced his neck open, then setting him on the ground. I picked up his weapon, an AK-47, it works. I dropped the dagger and took his cleaner, more durable combat knife. I looked around for more guards, two were leaving the room, the other one was moving to a small area in the back of the room. I followed him. He approached another US soldier, who was masked. Then he pulled out a pistol, aimed it at his head, and said something I couldn't hear. I pulled my new knife out and quickly stabbed him in the back of the neck, silencing him and tossing him aside. I moved to the masked soldier and removed the mask. It was General Lynch. "*cough* *cough*... eh...Jason...they killed...everybody...*cough*....I'm done for. They injected me with rattlesnake poison. It's been in my blood for two hours. Go, please. Your the last one here. *cough* *cough*...." He passed out. I wanted to save him, but his hands were gone and they were bleeding uncontrollably. His left leg looked like it was blown off. And his right eye is gone. I backed away, feeling guilty. But I had to keep going... I don't know what it was, but I felt an energy pulling me somewhere. Almost like it was calling me. I moved along the wall, and it got colder all of a sudden. I saw a little blue light down the hallway. My curiosity got the better of me and I moved towards the blue light. The blue light warped through the wall, and vanished. The wall was a dead end, and looked like the blue light was making me follow. Well, time to test something. I knocked on the wall, several times. Trying to find a hollow point. *knock* *knock* *knock* *knock* *knock* What? As I made that last knock, a crack in the wall appeared. I knocked it again, the crack got bigger. I walked backwards, then ran to the wall and kicked it down. Success. The wall collapsed, and revealed a very damp room that had one light source from the top of the ceiling. The room looked cave like, liked it was carved. I looked around for the blue light. But as I did, I saw bodies and coffins laying around. There was a path that went downwards, at the bottom looked like a shrine of some sort. I walked down the path, getting colder as I went down, witch is odd considering I'm in the middle of a desert. The shrine was bigger than I expected, it had an alter with a Galil on it for some reason. It looked odd, not like a normal Galil, it had blue marks on it that glowed dimly. But what stood out was a  tribal marking that looked like a star. I slowly walked up to the alter and looked at the Galil up close. It just looked like a normal Israeli gun, with the glow stuff on it of course. When I tried to pick it up, it shocked me violently that made me step back a ways. Then, the blue ball from earlier appeared in front of me. Then it shot into me. My body contorted, as waves of pain went through my body. The force from the ball knocked the wind out of me, making me struggle to breath. My vision unfocused and focused repeatedly. Then, something inside of me spoke. Like a whisper. ....war... My body stopped hurting, my vision cleared, and I was pissed. I looked behind me to the Galil, and picked it up. The whole thing glowed so brightly that I thought I was going blind. My hand suddenly got numb, I looked down and the star from the gun was on the palm of my hand. Then my vision blurred as I ran from the shrine to the top of the stairs. Then my hearing negated. I don't remember what happened, but when I could hear and see again, I was outside with my gun barrel smoking, and blood covered me. I heard a hissing noise behind me. And turned around to see a fuel tank on fire... I ran as fast as I could from the base, away in a random direction. But I didn't look back  as a massive explosion destroyed the base. Glass and metal came from behind me, and one struck me in the head that caused me to black out. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Death was like a very numb sleep. Nothing to feel. Except that very annoying light in front of me. My senses were gone, well sight is still there, but I couldn't smell anything or taste or feel anything. Just that annoying light that keeps getting closer. I tried to move for the seventh time, nope, still dead. Wait...is that laughter? "Yes, come closer." What!? My senses came back all at one, giving me a major migraine. My body was dropped onto an invisible with an echoing thump. I looked at my hands, still with everything I had. Bloody gloves and that fucking weird ass weapon. Then that voice came back. "Good. Now that your down, lets chat for a bit." The feminine voice said in a calm manner. "W-who are you?" I asked, my voice echoing in the strange abyss. "Why, I'm War. Your element and weapon." She said with a somewhat cheery tone. "What? You mean your that Galil?" I asked. "Is that what it's called? Learn something new everyday I guess. And to answer your question, yes, I am that....what did you call it? Ga-li-el?" War attempted to pronounce. "Galil. Anyway, what are you, were are we, and what happened?" "Wow, Dejavu, anyway. My name is War, well actually I'm a combination of many other elements than that. I'm just the dominate sister to all of my other sister elements." She explained. "W-what? What are you talking about? What elements?" "Hm? Oh right, your kind isn't Equisen. You see, we were the first elements to appear on my home planet of Equis. We were originally supposed to 'keep the balance' between Lightness and Darkness. Or good or Evil if you shall. I'm a combination of all the darkness elements, well most anyway, my other elements are Despair, Depression, and Hatred, all combined to create one element to make the balance more manageable. That is me, War." "But, the gods at the time thought that combining of elements was a great punishment. And so banished me to another planet. Leaving my other sisters. Who of which are Nightmare, Chaos, and Greed. And so I came upon your planet and slepped for a good amount of years, and then you came along and took me from my bed." She finished. "But, why a Galil?" I asked. "I saw one wile coming back to greet you, I thought it looked kinda cool. So I took the form of it." The blinding light then slowly shrunk to the ground. And formed a Galil with that 'War' mark, at least i'm going to name it something. "Is that why my planet has so many wars? Because of your presence?" I asked. "Probably, I had no bearer for me. So my power kinds had to fuel itself somehow. But now that I have a bearer, it will be much easier to draw energy from you." "Wait, draw energy from me?" I asked questioningly. "I mean your life force, you humans have a lot of it for one being, especially ones who don't use magic." She explained. "Magic?" "Oh yeah, my kind has magic. But there not that advanced like you humans are. You humans are amazing..." War said with somewhat more friendliness. "If your the element of war, shouldn't you be more, you know, evil?" I asked. "It's just a title, besides, it's just a job to keep the balance so that the Equisen's don't completely turn over to one end of the spectrum. If that happened. Armageddon will happen." She explained. "Wait, how long have you been on my planet?" "About...well, since it was a smoldering pile of rock. Why?" War asked quizzically. "What's happening to my planet right now?" "......oh no. I think since I was apart of your planets development, and you took me away, I think its now experiencing Armageddon." She said apologetically. "Why does this happen to me? I'm dead. My home planet is gone. I'm stuck in some abyss with a talking Galil who is controlled by a element and is claiming to be from another planet called Equis. I'm done at life." I said in defeat. "No, your ageless now.  You are dead, but I brought you back to my domain, and now we can return to my home planet and hopefully balance the balance...if that makes sense." War explained. "Do I have a choice?" I asked slowly. "Yes actually, you can stay here with me for all eternity and do nothing except tell knock-knock jokes, or, we can save my planet from total annihilation." "Save your planet? My planet's gone because of you! My entire family is gone! My life that I worked so hard for is no more than space dust! And YOU, expect me to help you save your planet!?" I shouted at the weapon. She stopped talking, and stayed that way for several seconds. "I-I'm sorry, I'm just extremely stressed out by what's happening. Please, can you forgive me?" I asked apologetically. I heard a sniff, then she spoke. "I guess Humanity isn't dead, your still here, and you have some good in you still." I smiled, and picked her up. "Are you ready?" She asked. "No choice, I'm as stuck with you as you are with me." I said trying to make some humor. "Nope, and you better get used to it. As long you don't get killed by dragons or a cocatruce." She said in a more giddy manor. Wait. What about dragons!?!? (Everfree Castle) My mind was everywhere and nowhere at the same time, a very odd feeling. There was a bright flash and we were standing in the middle of some told castle. "What's this place?" I asked. "Were I was banished from. But now it's just rubble. I need to save energy Mr...um" "Jason Blackwell by the way." "Right. Sorry that I didn't ask for your name Mr. Blackwell. But now I must rest, that teleportation took a lot out of me. So for now, you'll be on your own. Remember what I told you about wile we were teleporting. So long for now." And the glow from my gun dimmed to a purple color. "So long War." I said quietly. Now, lets see. Ponies. Right. Not what I expected for my afterlife but whatever. I walked out of the castle gates exactly were War told me to go. The whole place felt pretty surreal. Like it's a dream, but I can feel it. I can breath it. I can see it. I am not dead. Now I can at least live without dying from old age. But, I can still die from everything else. And fucking magic? What the fuck? Magic!? I knew I should've stopped drinking. My mind still had unanswered questions. But I shoved them in the back of my mind for later. For now, I just focused on the task at hand. Some ponies called the Elements of Harmony? I think that's what War said. I still don't now how she knows these things if she's been asleep, but, i guess it's not important right now. Ok, but how am I going to get myself out of these woods?
