Chapter 1 - A Brand New Day
It has been three months since the Siren Burning Tempo came to Canterlot in search of his three friends Adagio, Sonata, and Aria. After some searching Tempo found Adagio only to learn the horrible truth of their exile and the reason they are no longer together. Deep down Tempo knew he was going to reunite Adagio with her sisters no matter the cost.
The sun shined brightly through Tempo’s bedroom. The siren opened his eyes and yawned as he sat up and stretched his dormant limbs. As he looked over he saw his girlfriend Adagio fast asleep as she softly snored as Tempo smiled. Her soft orange skin gleamed in the sunlight as her dark purple bra and panties were spread out across the floor of Tempo’s bedroom. The young siren got out of bed and headed for his bathroom. Looking in the mirror he noticed the major changes that had taken place in the months after the incident on the school rooftop. His once shoulder length red hair was now shaved into a buzz cut. His once bare face was now covered with a short red beard that adorned his jawline perfectly. However, Tempo’s gaze soon traveled down to the most noticeable difference, the nub were his right arm used to be. Nightmares of that day still plagued his dreams every night after the incident. Silently Adagio walked up behind him and tightly as he felt her warm bare skin touch his. He shuddered at the sensation of his lovers hands as they ran up and down his chest.
“Did you have another nightmare Tempo darling.” She said hugging him tightly.
“No I got up to take a shower and then I saw my reflection and it just got me thinking about the incident.” Tempo said as he turned to face Adagio, as she met his gaze the sun illuminated their silhouettes and the two lovers locked their lips. No matter what was going through the battlefield that was Tempo’s mind Adagio could make him forget everything. Her kiss always seemed to numb his body as the warmth and softness of her skin numbed his mind. They continued to kiss as Sunset opened their door. As she stepped inside the two lovers were soon locked in her sites. Curious Sunset stood just out view and listened in on their conversation.
“Darling you can’t let what happened get to you. If you hadn’t of done what you did then that bracelet would’ve used you to kill everyone you cared about.” Adagio said as she ran her hand up and down Tempo’s face..
“I know Adagio it’s just.” Tempo paused for a few seconds. “It’s hard waking up and seeing that I’m just half a man.” he said as Adagio pulls him in for another deep kiss.
“You're not half a man you're still the same man I fell in love with nothing will ever change that.” Adagio said resting her head on his chest. “I love you Tempo now and forever.”
“I love you to Adagio.” Tempo said as he kissed her head. Adagio smiled as she left the bathroom. As she stepped into the room to put on a bra she noticed Sunset who was still hiding against the wall. Sunset stared at Adagio as she jumped of the wall in embarrassment. Sunset locked eye with Adagios breasts as the two girls stand still frozen in shock. Sunsets nose began to bleed as she regained her composure. Adagio quickly runs and hides in the closet as she stuck her head out.
“Jesus Christ Sunset could you please knock next time. Why were you in our room anyway?” Adagio said as she quickly slid on a fresh pair of panties and put on a new bra.
“Well, I came in her to wake you guys up for school but I heard you guys talking in the bathroom and I got curious. I’m sorry Adagio I’ll knock next time.” Sunset said wiping her nose as Tempo comes out of the bathroom naked as he enters Sunsets line of sight before freezing and backing away slowly back into the bathroom. A deep blush soon soaked Sunsets face as she ran downstairs.
“What just happened?” Tempo said as he walked back out into the bedroom to get his clothes.
“Well, it appears that Sunset was curious about what we were talking about in the bathroom.” Adagio says as she stared at Tempo for a few as she bit her bottom lip.
After a few seconds of enjoying the sight of Tempo, Adagio got up and headed to the walk in closet to pick out her outfit for the day. She finds a nice purple skirt with matching striped undershirt and a matching jacket. As she laid them out on the bed as Tempo comes out of the bathroom smelling of the Irish Spring deodorant he had bought last week. Adagio headed into the steamy bathroom and into the shower as she soaped up her loofah and washed her body thoroughly before shampooing and conditioning her hair. After she had rinsed herself off she stepped out of the shower and walked over to the mirror to apply her makeup. Instead, of wearing her hair up in a big ponytail she decided to go with a smaller less poofy ponytail. After applying her makeup she walks over to the nightstand and puts on her glasses. As she put her clothes on Tempo headed downstairs to grab breakfast. Once downstairs Tempo was greeted by Twilight and her friends.
“Oh hi girls.” Tempo said as he sits at the table and eats breakfast as he talks with his friends waiting for Adagio to come downstairs.
“Darling your new look is quite alluring.” Rarity said with her eyes half lidded as she drank in Tempo’s appearance. “Adagio is on lucky girl. If she wasn’t your girlfriend I would be on you in a heartbeat.” Rarity continued to say shedding her ladylike facade.
“Oh really now Rarity. You weren't thinking of stealing my man were you?” Adagio said whispering in her ear causing Rarity to make a squeaking sound as she looked down and began to blush.
“No not at all Adagio darling I was...um...just saying how lucky you are to have him.” Rarity said her face still a deep red as she laughed nervously. Adagio looked at her raising an eyebrow.
Adagio giggled before patting Rarity on the back. “That's what I thought.” She said as she sat down next to Tempo. Adagio had changed for the better but she still retained her scary side sometimes. Even if she was playing a joke on Rarity. “So, what’s on today's agenda at school Sunset?” Adagio asked digging into her pancakes.
“Well, today Tempo and I figured since people are starting to warm up to you in school. We wanted to try patching things up with Aria and Sonata.” Sunset said causing Adagio choked on a piece of pancake before she drank some juice and washed it down as she coughed.. “I figure convincing Sonata will be easier then Aria so let’s start with her first.” Sunset went on to say.
“Are you sure that’s a good idea girls? I mean I did some pretty awful things to the two of them.” Tempo put his hand on hers as she looked at him..
“No Adagio that was the old you. Three months ago the school pelted you with food the very minute you walked into the gym. Now, slowly but surely people are liking you. They see that you have changed and Sonata and Aria will see that to. Trust us ok sweetie.” Tempo said before kissing her on her cheek causing her to blush slightly. Tempo put the dishes in the dishwasher and turned it on as everyone grabbed their bags “Now, come on let's head to school.” Tempo said as he took Adagio by the hand and headed out the front door with his friends following behind him.
“Can you please tell me why we are walking to school?” Rarity whined as they left the driveway.
“I think Sunset said that it's in the shop. Right Sunset?” Twilight said pushing her glasses up her nose.
“Ya they said it should be done by next week. Something about failing brakes or a blown gasket. All I know is it cost me an arm and a leg.” Sunset stops before realizing what she just said. “Oops sorry about the whole arm and a leg thing Tempo.” Sunset said grinning and rubbing the back of her head. Tempo just laughs it off.
“It’s fine Sunset a little joke never hurt anyone.” Tempo said as everyone began to laugh as the nine friends walked towards school to begin there soon to be eventful day.
Once they walked through the school doors everyone crowded around Tempo and began asking if he was ok. Sunset quickly remembered that this was Tempos first day back at school since his accident. He was acting so normal that it never crossed her mind.
Tempo managed to shoo the crowd off as he went back to holding Adagio’s hand. They walked through the hall and headed for their first class. The first part of the day went off without a hitch and soon Tempo and Adagio had met Sunset and her friends in the lunchroom. As Tempo and his friends ate their lunch Sonata came walking into the lunchroom. Tempo soon looks over and noticed the carefree siren sitting at a table by herself. Tempo stood up to go talk to her when Sonata spotted him instantly dropping her lunch and lunging across the table at Tempo as she tackled him to the ground and squeezing him tightly. Adagio and Sunset laughed as they saw Sonata return to her cheery childlike self.
“Oh my gosh is that you Tempi. Are you for realzies a student here now..” Sonata said helping him up as she hugged him once again.
“Sonata I’ve been a student here for a while you blue haired goof ball. I’ve just been absent for three months because of an accident involving my equestrian magic.” Tempo said as he showed Sonata the nub were his arm used to be.
Sonata gasped before touching the nub as a tear ran down her cheek. She hugged Tempo tightly. “I’m so happy to see you again but why are you here of all places. Adagio told me before the battle of the bands that no one from our home world knew we were here.” Sonata said with a grimace.
“Sonata there’s something important I want to tell you. Your sister Adagio has started to treat everyone differently. In doing so students here are beginning to warm up to her rather quickly. Well. she feels awful about how she treated you and Aria and wanted to patch things between the three of you. So, I’m asking if you will give her a chance to apologize.” Tempo said as he hugged Sonata.
“For realzies cause I think she’s the worst.” Sonata said smiling at Tempo and giggling. Tempo laughs and rubs his hand on her head ruffling up her bangs.
“I think you're the worst Sonata.” Tempo said doing his best impersonation of Aria causing Sonata to giggle. “Seriously though give her a chance.” He said pointing over to the table as everyone waved at Sonata with warm smiles.
“Fine but under one condition. You have to take me out for tacos tonight.” Sonata said acting like a puppy as she gave Tempo the dreaded “Sonata puppy dog face”.
“Damn you Sonata and your adorableness.” Tempo said to himself as he sighed deeply. “Deal”. Sonata jumped up and down clapping excited as she ran over to the table. “Well that was a lot easier then I thought It was gonna be.” Tempo said to himself as he saw Adagio and Sonata talking. At first it didn’t look good but soon the two sirens smiled and hugged each other. “Hell yes that what I’m talking about.” Tempo said raising his left arm and yanking it down. He walked over to the table as Adagio hugged him tightly thanking him over and over as she planted a big kiss on his lips.
“Wait are you guys dating?” Sonata asked with confused look on her face. Adagio and Tempo laugh as they let go of each other's hands.
“Yes Sonata me and Tempo have been a dating for a while now.” Adagio said going back to her food.
“Darn it I was to late. I wanted to be Tempos girlfriend.” Sonata said pouting as she crossed her arms and huffed. Tempo just laughed as he gave her a big hug.
“I tell you what since I chose to date Adagio how about I make it up to you. Not only will I take you to get tacos how about I walk into school tomorrow dressed as a giant taco and let you follow me around all day.” Tempo said seeing Sonatas and for some odd reason Pinkie’s faces light up. “I’ll take that as a yes.” Tempo said as he laughed with everyone as they finished their lunch. Once lunch was finished the students headed back to their classes to finish off the day. School always bored Tempo more than anything. He was a smart kid he just hated sitting still and listening to a person rabble on for about thirty minutes. Once classes were finished Tempo went out into the hall to head to his locker and pack up his stuff for his homework tonight. As Tempo is putting away his textbooks students came charging down the hall as one of the jocks caught Tempos attention.
“Flash what the hell is going on. Where is everyone going?” Tempo asked as Flash looked at Tempo with a worried expression on his face.
“Apparently some students from Timberwolf High are on campus and Adagio accidentally bumped them and now they have her cornered.” Flash said with a sense of panic in his voice.
“Oh Shit.” Tempo said dropping everything as he darted through the halls pushing students out of his way. Once he had reached the atrium he busted through the front doors as he spotted the three boys inching closer to Adagio. Throwing away all sense of reason Tempo charged at the boys as he trucked the biggest one knocking him over. “Adagio run and get Rainbow and Applejack I’m gonna need their help.” Tempo yelled as Adagio got up off the wall and stood her ground..
“Tempo you're in no condition to fight. You're gonna get hurt.” Adagio said worried for the wellbeing of her boyfriend..
“Adagio go I promise you I got this.” Tempo yelled as Adagio noded her head and she ran off to get the girls.
“Ha whats a one armed wimp like you gonna do.” One of the students said as he cracked his knuckles.
“Why the hell are you three assholes even here. I thought Timberwolf High was to good to set foot on the CHS campus.” Tempo said as he stood his ground. The two jocks laughed as they closed in to hit Tempo. As one of the jocks went to hit him a chair flew through the air and connected with the side if one of the jocks heads. All Tempo could see was a purple blur knocking the other two jocks on their asses.
“You haven’t changed a bit huh Tempo.” Aria said as she kicked one of the downed jocks in the face. “Jeez and here I was thinking that after all these years you would’ve learned to stand up for yourself even a little.” Aria said standing in front of him. The three jocks approached Aria as she turned and stared at them. The boys stopped in there place paralyzed with fear. Aria raised her fist at the boys as she lunged towards them. This caused the boys to run away in fear.
“Ya well it’s kinda hard to defend myself Aria when I only have one arm Aria.” Tempo said as he glared at her.
“Oh ya so that’s apparently a thing. So, how did you lose your arm?” Aria said as she sat on the ground next to Tempo.
“My Equestrian magic went haywire so I had to cut it off to stop the power from spreading to my body and destroying Canterlot.” Tempo said as Aria stood up and stretched her arms. “Hey Aria wait I’ve actually been wanting to talk to you about something.” Tempo said as Aria put her hand up to his face.
“Sonata texted me and told me everything. I’ll listen to Adagios apology but if this gets mushy I’m kicking your ass.” Aria said making a fist at him. Tempo put his hands up in an “I Surrender” pose.
“Fair enough just avoid the face please.” Tempo said putting his arms down. As Adagio rounded the corner with Applejack and Rainbow Dash all three stop when they see Aria.
“Wait you're friends with them...the same girls that beat us at the battle of the bands.” Aria said slightly annoyed as she pinched the bridge of her nose. “Really Tempo and here I was thinking you would have made some friends that were worth your time.” Aria said glaring at the two girls standing behind Adagio.
“You wanna come and say that to my face?” Rainbow said as she walks towards Aria. The two girls stared daggers at each other before Tempo stepped in between them.
“Rainbow stop it.” Tempo said as he glared back at her.
“She started it.” Rainbow said as she walked back to Applejack. Adagio steps forward and stands in front of Aria.
“Look Aria I wanna apologize. It was my fault that we failed. I wasn’t a good leader. On top of that I pushed you and Sonata to the side when you two should’ve been in the spotlight with me. However, ever since the night we fought Sunset and her friends have helped me change along with Tempos help. On top of all that Tempo and I are in the process of getting us a house were the four of us can live together and be a family again.” Adagio said looking at Aria and smiled.
Aria threw her arms up in the air as she gave up the fight. “Ok I get it just stop with the mush alright, I’ll come back just please stop.” Aria said as she walks over and kicks Tempo square in the groin and Tempo falls to the ground in pain.
“Why the groin of all places Aria?” Tempo said as he continued to writhe in pain.
“You know exactly why Tempo. Now, can we please leave this school before I burst into flames.” Aria said in a deadpan tone as she helped Tempo to his feet as Adagio noticed Sonata coming out of the school. Sonata walked up to Aria, Adagio, and Tempo and hugged them all at once squeezing them tightly as Applejack smiled and she left to take Rainbow home.
“Can we go get Tacos now,” Sonata said jumping up and down.
“Ya c’mon girls let's go.” Tempo said as he put his arm around Adagio as Sonata clinged to his side and Aria followed behind acting like she didn’t know the three people in front of her. Tempo continued to smile as they walked down the street. Things were finally shaping up for the group of sirens as they were now a family again..
