//-------------------------------------------------------// A Darkened Heart -by Princess Angel Wings8- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// CH2: Noticing A Change //-------------------------------------------------------// CH2: Noticing A Change After the two returned Angel went to her room to read her new books. She bought five. Three where novels from her favorite authors: A.K. Yearling, Coltins, and Eric Hummer. One was a book on the creatures of Equestria and the last was one that she absentmindedly grabbed. It was a book on knowing how to find out if a pony was....not right in the head. Some sort of psychology book. Angel always had interest in the subject but was afraid to got deeper into it. She wasn't sure why she was afraid, she just felt like doing so wouldn't end well for her. As Angel read on she became very interested in the list of signs that a pony is off. Out of boredom Angel started thinking about all the ponies she know and went though the list with them in mind. Fluttershy of course didn't fit anything on the list, Applejack and Rainbow Dash were the same. Twilight and Rarity only fit a couple of the minor points such as obsession over a certain thing and easily to upset. Pinkie was harder for Angel to peg due to the wild personality. Angel then moved onto her family who also got normal results. Luna's results were the same as Twilight and Rarity while Celestia got normal results. Angel did herself and got a score one above Twilight. She already expected this. She was kind mostly but wasn't afraid to show her anger when upset, she did, after all, have a sharp tongue. There was only one pony left....Cosmic Blast. Angel was admittedly uneasy to do him, she wasn't sure what score he would get. Taking a breath she began the test. //-------------------------------------------------------// CH3: Testing the Guard //-------------------------------------------------------// CH3: Testing the Guard Angel took a breath and began the final test. She hoped that the answer would be different than what she feared. After reading through the questions, and giving each careful thought she began to answer them one by one. Her breath caught in her throat as she read the results. It was about what she thought, he was somewhat likely to "go bad". Angel cussed under her breath as she read it again and again. She couldn't tell anypony, she had no real reason to. He wasn't a threat yet so no need to raise alarm. She closed the book and put it away hidden under the other books then went to the dinning hall for dinner trying to look like she was alright, when the truth was the exact opposite. Thankfully nopony noticed her nervous behavior though Cosmic Blast was eyeing her coolly from his place at the dinning table. Angle prayed he wouldn't say anything. He didn't and after dinner Angel returned to her room locking the door behind her. Angel had a difficult time sleeping that night and ended up waking up and sending a letter to her friends asking them to meet up with her tomorrow at the library. She didn't know how she would escape Blast yet, but she had escaped before getting past multiple guards at once. One should be easy as pie for her. //-------------------------------------------------------// CH1: The Beginning //-------------------------------------------------------// CH1: The Beginning Hoofs clicked on the crystal floor as Angel walked down the hall to the kitchen. She was hopping for a veggie omelet for breakfast. A cool voice sounded behind her. "Good morning Princess." Angel tensed, she hated being called that. She had a name and there was more to her than her royal status. "Cosmic Blast," she said calmly as she could. "You know I wish to be called Angel, not Princess," Angel shot him a hard stare. Angel wasn't like the other princesses, she didn't hold her head high or act as one would expect royalty to act. No she had a blade sharp tongue, fiery ice blue eyes, and a personality all her own. Blast snorted at her. He too didn't act as one would expect, especially toward Angel. Most guards bowed to all princess, even young Angel, but Cosmic Blast looked at her as if she were nothing but a pain in his flank. He often snorted at her and wouldn't listen to her saying he listened to her grandparents first, than the Captain of the guard, than Angel. "Calling you by name would not be right of me. You shall be addressed as I have been told. Which is a princess," he said in a emotionless gruff voice. Angel sighed irritably. "Fine, I'm going to eat. I plan to visit the shops before it gets busy." Blast blocked her path, "not unless I come with, and not until you finish you studies for today." Angel felt ready to explode at the guard. She not only liked having her tell her what to do, she didn't like the he was a year younger and telling her what to do. "I got ahead in my studies and I know I can't leave without you, unfortunately," Angel hissed under my breath. Blast heard but said nothing. "Fine then lets eat a go." After breakfast the two made their way to the market area. Angel took particular interest in the booths with books and necklaces while Blast looked at the ones with armor and other medieval type stuff. Angel was slightly interested in that kind of stuff as well but mostly the clothing and of course necklaces. She wasn't one to be into girly froufrou stuff but necklace were her exception. As they shopped Angel looked over at her guard watching her look at some swards and for some reason this made her uneasy. She wasn't afraid of him so to speak but there was something...unnerving about him at times. His cold and closed personality was mostly why but it was also his eyes which were much different for others. His eyes were two different colors and each held a look of what Angel described as soulless.
